Great food. Lovely staff. Great atmosphere. Made you feel welcome.

Cold in by off chance due to raining weather. Pub was quiet so served straight away. Good selection of drinks and peanuts. Wasn’t expensive either like some pubs in Torquay £6 a pint, not here. Didn’t try food but will return and try next visit to Torquay.

Was recommended by our hotel, but afterwards wished we chose somewhere else. Was met at the bar with a woman with an attitude, not welcoming at all. She certainly didn't enjoy her job! Food was expensive for what we were given and we were made to pay before it arrived. Will not be returning.

Good place for sum chilled out drinks with my friends. We only live round the corner and have not been in for a while. Was pleasantly surprised. The bar staff were attentive and friendly, had a good chat with us. Didn’t eat as we had already eaten, but the food we saw going out looked and smelled good. Good selection of drinks, dartboard (that I don’t remember seeing last time I was there) and a pool table to.

On a little winter break away from home. I came in here on my first night of a 5 night stay. Didn’t eat anywhere else on the evenings. The food offers are great and cheaper than spoons on the meal and drink night and the food quality was brilliant, highlights were the burgers and steaks. Tried their Wainwright ale which was a lovely pint Staff were welcoming an freindly. Had a game of pool with some locals which was nice as I was a lone traveller. Will recommend to my freinds if they come to Torquay

Came here as we are staying at the TLH down the road. Food was brilliant, went in there on a Tuesday and they had a burger and drink offers on, I had the ultimate beef burger which was fab, and my girlfriend had the ultimate veggie which she really enjoyed. Service was fast, staff were friendly and helpful, the barman suggested some good places to visit nearby to keep the kids happy, so thanks for that. Good selection of beers, and they had the thatchers 0 alcohol which I hadn’t tried before. Blooming nectar

Smashing little pub. Came here with friends when we was away for A few nights holiday, as it was over the road from our digs. Drinks were well priced and cheaper than the other places we had tried. The menu had a very wide selection, we had the chicken kebab and rump steak. Food was well plated and very tasty. Steak was one of the best Iv had in a long time. Service was fast and friendly, and it’s always a bonus when they have a pool table.

Came down to torquay for the weekend. Myself and friends came to the bull and bush for some food. The service was excellent and the food was excellent and I found the service very welcoming

They can’t even manage to make a decent lasagna both of ours was Lukewarm, runny, and tasteless. If you can’t even do a decent lasagna with it frozen or not, then you don’t get my customer again.

It doesn't look much from the outside and just as little inside but that proves that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Had a great night drinking and eating. Worth the visit.

The pub needs more staff.. however, the girl behind the bar works it well.. but defo more staff for bar and kitchen

The Bull & Bush was the 1st pub we stopped in on our 1st day. Neil made us feel welcome & at home immediately. Great sense of humour & endless patience. Thanks Neil. See you again 😁

This isn't the 1st time we have visited & never had a problem before but tonight myself, my friend & two children came in at 7pm brought drinks & as before I had a vape (which has never been an issue before) but tonight the bar lady said your not allowed to vape in here to which I apologised & went into the garden to vape! Then at 20.15 we went to the bar for drinks & crisps for the children to be told no you have to be out by 8pm even though days before we were told 9pm as they serve food till then. Their was only a hand full of people in there & I'm not surprised with the lack if custom with bar staff as rude as she was! Definitely won't be going to give them our custom again!

Popped in over the weekend on Fri-Sun for dinner while away for work. Food was standard pub fayre, but cooked and presented perfectly. Staff were friendly. Had a go on their quiz, which was good. Would go again when next in the area

Didn't realise it was pub quiz night and arrived after 8 - behind others ordering food - but they still managed to fit us in and we had a most enjoyable meal and had fun entering the quiz too!

Yeah - liked it here. Friendly service and locals, decent offering of drinks, and there was a fun pub quiz there when I went. Good stuff.

Not a bad pub ,but I think that it is more for the locals than people on holiday ,but worth a visit.

Went for a quick bite to eat New girl served my hubby Girl who then fetched the food seemed annoyed she’s not explained the process of cutlery etc For things to run smoothly you work together Good ok for what you pay

We stumbled across this lovely pub while on holiday in the area. We were on a budget and the daily offers were a god send, particularly the steak and a drink for £13. Steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked medium rare. Honestly one of the best steaks Iv ever had. The staff were friendly and helpful, one of our group is gluten intolerant, the bar lady helpfully explained the several options for GF meals. Pool table is always a plus and they have a dartboard which was good fun. Sally G

I’ve been to a LOT of Marstons being in the industry and this has to be one of the worst !!

Have eaten here twice on our 4 day stay and have nothing but praise. In the past we have been so disappointed with steak meals elsewhere that we were very dubious on "Steak and a drink night" on Thursday. No fear Richard has a really good supplier and with his superb cheffing, Wonderful.

One of torquays original pubs and since the 80s has been a good meeting place and always something going on ie music,quiz etc.great fun👍👍

We were staying in a nearby B&B and the owners recommended this place, and I’m glad they did. Came here all week for dinner as there are food and drinks offers on like steak and a drink (had rump, perfectly cooked to medium well) with a pint of carlsberg and it was only £11.75. Not many places with offers like that anymore. The food was fantastic. The bar staff were friendly. Kids enjoyed the pool table. Would recommend.

A very nice and pleasant, quiet pub, nicely furnished, lots of different types of beer. The food here looks very tasty. There are special offers every day. Nice and quick waiters. Pleasant crowd

Went here with the missus, reasonably priced food steak was cooked perfectly and even have daily deals (Thursday steak & drink £12 etc). Had a game of pool on there new table. Run by a lovely couple.

My hubby and I visited here this evening for a meal together. I had Scampi, peas and Chips and hubby had Steak and Ale pie , peas snd chips. We Both enjoyed our meals. The staff were friendly and we were served quickly. Very pleasant evening.

A wonderful little pub that's located just a short walk away from the seafront. Serves all the pub classics and a good range of drinks. I make a point of visiting every time that I'm in the area

Very much a locals pub with Poole table and harmless rowdy half drunk locals. Staff friendly.

Brilliant pub, absolutely amazing staff. So warm and welcoming. Food is quick served and absolutely delicious! Portion sizes are well sized and food is presented beautifully.

A quick phone call to check food was being served later that evening, and if we needed to book. Very friendly owner answered and said they were quiet that day so no need to book, but it is always worth checking. We had a couple of drinks and some food. Chicken kebab served on naan bread was absolutely delicious. Burger was very tasty too. Lots to choose from on the menu, really friendly welcome. We will definitely return when in the area . Popped in on the Sunday night at 10 to 9 and not expecting any kind of food. Ask the Lovely landlady if it is possible to get something to eat and she immediately said yes, I place my order and my food was on my table within 15 minutes.. I had the home-made lasagna with chips and a side salad and have to say it was absolutely delicious and I totally cleaned my plate. I’ll definitely be going back again for some delicious home-cooked food, highly recommended..

I just popped in here for a drink but they stopped serving food. It was late. Nice pub nice service. I want to try the food next time ✅

Neo again big mistake staff weren’t remotely interested when we walked in to bossy having y laugh with each other finally got their y and order some food from a very limited menu opted for lasagne because who can’t do a lasagna turns out the bull and bush can’t yeast less watery rago revery microwaved pasta ray some well a couple of mouth full and a few chips worse than microwave from Iceland barges tenge when asked how it was I didn’t air. My opinion gust pointed at the plate full I had left and side what do you think which was laughed off buy the guy serving a child when had no genuine interest in what I thought so we drunk up and left unfortunately as I was convent to where we were staying couldn’t bare to come back so spent our money eals where no wonder it’s empty

Not a lot o atmosphere but we did go between Christmas and New Year so Torquay quieter than normal..

We had a fabulous meal. Sirloin steak was the choice of the day and it was well worth the wait. The food was served hot and the steak was delicious all for £14.95 which is well priced these days. Worth a visit. Various offers on each night of the week.

We went for the steak night on Thursday the steak was done perfectly really nice service was excellent and we will be going there again I found the price of the alcohol was expensive I got a glass of red wine and a Jack Daniels and Coke and it cost £14 which I thought was very expensive

Lovely pub, convenient location opposite our B & B. Had some food which was great.

No real ale on Friday as they were apparently cleaning the pipes, which could be true, as other drinks tasted of cleaning fluid. We left them and took our business elsewhere. The staff couldn’t even manage a good evening. Awful place

It's a rare thing to be greeted as you walk into a strange pub with the comment "You look like a prince!" and for it to be a sincere compliment rather than banter or a prelude to a glassing... the clientel of the Bull & Bush are welcoming and friendly, as are the hosts. The gentlemanly compliment may have been inspired by the brass buttoned uniform coat and ribboned rosette badge I wore. It was my birthday weekend, and I wanted to try out a pub local to my new home, with my Devon-based family. While the ol' Bull & Bush is a little further for my old mum and her equally as knackered offspring to walk than other, closer pubs, it was the better choice. Quiet enough to enjoy a meal and a conversation... (at least it was when we moved away from the cackling woman sat in one corner, and the bar staff turned Michael Macintire down a bit) and with reasonably priced food and drink. The food was simple pub fare (hunter's chicken, steak...) excellently prepared and very tasty. A game or two of pool, singing along to 80s Rock Ballards, rounded off the evening nicely. I shall be returning to this pub for their quiz night.

This is one bar I really love and enjoy... The staff are friendly drinks are reasonable priced food is good too... I love the facts the have a decent pool table better than most bars in torquay. I've been going in and out of this place for the past 6 to 7 years. The owner I've never met but has good bar staff and there's always someone willing to give u a game of pool if you're drinking on your own...

This was a great find, it was the only friendly place to eat that was open in the area of our Torquay spa hotel. The staff were friendly and took my allergies seriously. They adapted my meal so I could still have the Cowboy Burger subbed the chips for a baked potato. My husband had the Hunters Chicken and loved it. They also do a limited amount of cocktails which again were good quality. The music was heavy metal and not the easiest to eat too. The chef did come out and check on my once the food was served, and he offered us a drink on the house. Which was so unexpected and made us feel valued. If you're a heavy metal fan and want a bite to eat this is the perfect place for you.

We just got back from a 2 day stay just down the road from this pub we where just looking for something to eat as we arrived early evening we where not expecting it to be top end place we where expecting your standard pup food (just thrown on a plate style) but we where wrong so wrong the food was 5 star restaurant style my husband had the simple steak deal and was totally blown away I had the the steak and ale pie and again I was shocked at the quality off food and it didn’t break the bank so we went back the second night just because we where so blown away by it all I would definitely say eat here for sure

I can not believe the way I was spoken to, Ordered food at the same time as my friends and 20 minutes later my food had not arrived. A member of staff accused me of going to the pub before and being Drunk and abusive... I don't even drink except the odd glass of wine. I would never go to this pub again or recommend to any of my guests as staff are rude and very unaccommodating.

Used the Bull & Bush for over 25 years. Few years ago the service provided was poor with no food available some days. Thankfully problems now sorted with good menu options and beer prices from £3.50 per pint.

Good simple food and not expensive

Group of 4, ordered food in couples. Couple who ordered food 2nd, got their food first, 1st couple left waiting. I chased up the food and the bar man said "you ordered it separately, the first couple, would have got their food first." I replied that I ordered the food first, can you chase it up." Shortly the manager came to our table, to say that he couldn't find the order slip. I confirmed the original order. The Manger confirmed the food will be cooked and will take about 7 minutes. I overheard him say, "hold all food orders until ...."When the manager delivered the food he offered two drinks on the house for the waiting so long. This is great customer service and the food was tasty, so marked 4 rather than 3.

Visited this pub recently whilst staying in Torquay , my husband had mixed grill, said it was the best he’s ever had, my gammon was also superb, joined in with the bingo & music quiz too, good fun night, polite & friendly staff, locals made you feel welcome too . Definitely recommend

Tried to order food but was told kitchen closed till 5pm. Food was supposed to be available from 12pm

Good pub food. 2 steaks & 2 drinks for 25 pounds. Superb cooking in a regular pub atmosphere. Was made welcome by the staff.

Excellent food and plates were hot

Working in local area so popped in for food and a cold drink. Staff very friendly and pub a good old local vibes. Had Sausage and mash one of my favourites. The sausage were cooked fresh you can tell mash had mustard through yes I like and good thick gravy. Overall a 8 out of ten well done the bull and bush

We love coming here, the staff are very friendly. We quite often tell our guests at our B&B to pop in for a drink or something to eat. We haven't eaten here yet but our guests say that it's good! Would definitely recommend x

What let it down was the steak and ale pie. This was not unpleasant but had very little meat, it was not home made, but didn't proport to be so. The chips and peas were perfect, it came with Heinz ketchup and the beer was good. On balance its was not great but it was OK. I'll try something else soon, the poor pie is a product of the manufacturer, but the Bull & Bush did buy it represents poor economy.
