The best restaurants serving British food in South West

Nice place with bar and restaurant. Good views in the restaurant overlooking the sea. Usual tap beers and one real ale available. Bar is very cosy with ship memorabilia and low lighting. It also as a pool table and dartboard and is also dog friendly in the bar area. Staff were friendly and polite. Enjoyed my visit.

Not somewhere I would return to as food was not of a good quality. When you order roast beef you expect the beef to be roasted but we were served with braised beef which is a cheep cut cooked for hours. It was also over cooked as the edges were dry and hard. We were asked for a preorder as a table of 10. Why they need to do that as they are only serving roast, so not difficult to serve however many turn up. The roast potatoes were overcook, so much so that they were hollow inside. The vegetables and gravy had far too much salt in so all you could taste was salt. We were conned into having the most expensive size as were told when pre-ordering the there were three sizes children’s, regular and large. We were served plates which most of us could not finish as they served us a regular but now they say they only do childrens, small and regular. So it turns out we had the largest which had 8 of the hollowed potates on the plate. Very old fashioned and uninteresting pub with little going for it.

Starter, Whitebait, excellent Mains, Liver and Bacon, excellent Dessert, Bread & Butter Pudding, excellent Wonderful place to have a special meal or any other meal for that matter. Five stars for ambience, the host Andrew and the staff.

Fab pastie. Ona par with Gear Farm. Had pastie as takeaway with a coffee. Pastie was hot but not nuclear! Friendly staff.

We had afternoon tea, which was really delicious.

Had the most amazing gluten free fish and chips best ever staff were very helpful nothing too much trouble all allergies explained easy to get a table food was piping hot and large portions would definitely recommend mill is well worth the visit

I’ve popped in here a few times because it’s right by the bus stop, thus making it a convenient location. The staff are kind, helpful and quick to serve. You always see them working hard serving customers kindly and also enjoying a clean environment. Everything I have had to eat and drink has been made fresh and served with a smile. Great business to support as they honestly work so hard at all they do. There is an extensive menu from breakfasts, full meals, snacks, sandwiches, jacket potatoes and desserts you can name a few. Something for everyone. Well done #teampoppins.

2nd visit for us and a first for are really good friends , lovely pub and lovely welcoming booking is essential as it’s so popular. All guest went for the Sunday roast , beautifully cooked meat was amazing , beef perfect and the lamb was really good lots of vegetables and lovely gravy . No chips this time but hopefully next yr can highly recommend.

Very pleasant stay. Extremely clean throughout and I would highly recommend a stay here. Attentive staff and great food in the restaurant. One staff member "Jo" is exceptionally commendable. Great service, always happy and attentive with great knowledge for recommendations regarding the restaurant menu and easy conversation. A true hospitality professional, which is consistent with each staff member I crossed paths with. Thank you for making my stay enjoyable.

I'm still owed money for meals I paid for when I attended the music Festival in early Sept 24. It is disgraceful. No reason given and the same email response from the pub as a lot of others are getting. when trying to get a refund, 'It's been forwarded to accounts'. What an appalling way to treat customers.

Tried the reopening to support local business unfortunately my dietary needs was completely missed. Poor carvery experience food barley hot plates near cold pub temperature wasn't warm. The example I can give is when booking all dietary need was announced. On the day no measures made for my food and the effects are now being felt. I wasn't offered any reduction in the bill even though I had to ask for a takeaway box as the food wasn't edible by all accounts went totally cold... Why is it only in Somerset I have these problems holiday in Devon no issues they cater for us glutes very well I don't like feelings worst for feeding myself and financially worst off for the event. Sadly can't say better that it is totally disappointing also get knives that cut the carvery knives didn't cut but hacked and tore the meat to plate.
