Called in for a drink whilst on a bike ride, excellent beers available, including Skinners Lushingtons. We then booked to come the next day for Sunday Lunch...wow! So much of it, plenty of everything and great quality too. We followed this up with some drinks of course, perhaps a few too many! Great hosts, the landlady Lindsay was fun and welcoming, even joked that the barrel of Lushingtons was empty as she knew it was my favourite pint! A great laugh. Highly recommend The Lamorna Wink and can't wait to be back soon to enjoy some great food, drink & company. Thank you again for making our visits most enjoyable.

Lamorna Wink is a proper pub and very well run for locals & visitors alike. We have visited the pub for forty years and it remains a traditional interior and outside tables to enjoy the evening sunshine. The beer is very well kept and the food is the best we have had in a Cornish pub. The pub is in a very small village and therefore is not open Mon to Wed. However when it is open be sure to book for dinner as it is very popular. Seafood dishes are excellent, great portions and very good value. The seafood chowder, fish pie and fish & chips highly recommended.

We called in for lunch and found the whole place completely empty of anyone, no staff or customers. Finally the landlord arrived telling us there was no food today because it wasn't worth it as we'd probably be the only customers. I noticed the only beer available was London Pride, a strange thing only 5 miles from Lands End. Considering it's only open 4 days a week, I fear for the future of this establishment.

We are lucky to live close to this lovely pub. We visit for evening drinks, evening meals and today, Sunday lunch. We had a granddaughter and elderly grandad with us amongst a group of six. There was a choice of beef, lamb or pork and between us we had a complete selection. Everyone of us agreed it was the best Sunday lunch we have ever eaten. The vegetables were plentiful and delicious and the meat cooked to perfection. Three of us had puddings, and they too were wonderful. We have never been disappointed here, the fish and chips, fish pie and steaks are to die for and Lee cooks the best scampi ever. Thank you Lee and Lynsey, a great birthday celebration, and thanks for the birthday decorations!

We were making the most of the weather and doing the Mousehole to Lamorna circular walk which is beautiful. Halfway around we found The Wink. Reviews on Tripadvisor and on Google seemed pretty mixed so we were not expecting much. However, we were wowed by the lunch we had! I had the seafood chowder which was delicious. Packed full of prawns, mussels in their shells, squid rings, flaked salmon, clams and even a razor clam the seafood was served with a thick and creamy chowder sauce - really tasty and a great sized portion too. The bread roll was soft and served warm - also delicious. Mr H had fish and chips. Crispy batter with soft flakey tasty cod, and crunchy on the outside-soft in the middle chips with a portion of minty mushy peas which packed a lovely punch of flavour. The tarter sauce was fab and quite possibly homemade as it was infinitely better than anything you'd get in a supermarket. It was thick and full of chopped gherkins and capers - really good - I pinched some of Mr H's chips and loaded them up with it. We sat outside and enjoyed the food and the sun. We'd go back.

Went along to a music event for a drive out. When we go there we drove in the car park where some other cars were already parked. Just about to get out of our car when a barman/person came over and told us the car park was shut that day. We explained we were blue badge holders as my husband cannot walk far but they didn't want to know, we are pushing 70. So we went for a meal to a different pub instead. Maybe an idea in the future to state on their adverts that their car park would be shut to save less able bodied people wasting their time and money.

My wife and I booked for Sunday lunch as we had heard that the pub had reopened. The pub itself is very attractive, and the staff very pleasant. There was no menu but the choice was beef, pork or lamb. Nothing vegan or vegetarian, nor offer of small portions. A huge plateful arrived, with eight accompanying vegetables (roast potatoes, mashed potato, broccoli, creamy cabbage, mange touts, beetroot, mashed swede, parsnip puree) + crackling, applesauce, mint sauce, yorkshire pudding and gravy. All looked great and was a pleasure to eat. However, although we never leave food on our plate or vegetables left in a dish (except v. occasionally an excess of chips), this was too much for us and we left some of the vegetables and even a little meat. We noticed other customers also left quite large quantities of food, which is so wasteful. We didn't really have room for pudding but we were offered only sticky toffee pudding or two flavours of icecream. We hadn't asked about prices beforehand but were surprised how expensive our roasts were (£15.95 for pork; £16.95 for lamb). The icecream was a perfectly reasonable £2. We won't go back for Sunday roast as clearly things are not pitched quite right - a roast with a smaller quantity of vegetables perhaps @ £12.95 would be fine for us. And some people (elderly and children) would appreciate the chance to have a smaller plateful altogether. But we will try lunch or an evening meal. It's a lovely spot but before you book do check what you are going to have and its price.

Lamorna Wink was our planned stop point after walking the Soul West Coast Path for the day. We had read some pretty scathing reviews and were worried if they would let us in with a dog, served food, or would even be open. Since the negative review or two, the place has changed ownership and I couldn't disagree with the negative reviews more. The opening times were little strange to me as a city folk, but nothing phoning ahead couldn’t have enlightened me to before arriving. The place is clean, spacious, and full of character. (Great selection of gins too!) There were only two staff working that day. One chef and one bar staff. Despite the short staff, they were friendly, communicative, and courteous. The dog was allowed, and I don’t think I saw a group enter without at least one dog! We unfortunately did not manage to get to eat. They knew they only had one chef that day due to just having trouble getting staff (The place is fairly remote and we went out of season). Meals were reservation only. They knew how many meals they could cook. So, if you want a meal here plan ahead and book. Ring a few days ahead at least and check tables and opening times. I highly recommend this pub. The pub itself and the surrounding area have a rich history and are stunningly beautiful whatever the season.

We were staying in the area while walking a section of the SW coastal path and planned to have dinner here. At first we were told that they only had one chef working and too many bookings to accommodate us, but when we came back a bit later to explain that we were on foot with no way to get anywhere else that did food (which there isn't really at dinner time) and would be happy with anything, we were offered a couple of options to our great relief. Tried to go here for some dinner at quarter to 8 to be told that they stop food at half 7 or quarter to 8 and had already stopped as it was quiet which was fair enough. Ordered a drink which they then realised they didn’t have orange juice as they had “forgotten to buy some” and had to change the order. No mention of booking a table or anything for future, just to come before 7.45. Tried again 2 days later to be told 10 people had booked and they only had food to accommodate these 10? Don’t know if they were all ordering set food as I can’t imagine how you would know which meals to have enough of. Anyway as a newcomer to the area I would not recommend this pub - maybe one for the locals only?

It was a disaster show, the lady behind the bar looked like she had never pulled a pint in her life! Flat lemonade weak squash and a late dinner delivered a very unsatisfactory Sunday. The food itself was also quite poor the pork was full of fat the mash veg no seasoning and no flavour, cauliflower cheese literally was cauliflower with a cheese sauce just nothing tasted of anything! No seasoning on the root mash. Literally could have done better myself. We did receive a discount, but they shouldn't have taken the booking or open as I feel it's damaged their reputation. December 30th almost bang in between Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day and the owners shut up shop? Must be nice to be able to shut over what is ostensibly a long holiday for many. I'd give it 0* for customer appreciation. As an ex publican, I sympathise with the owners, but, we chose this life and chose to make sacrifices to make a living. Shutting your doors to potential customers is foolhardy in the extreme.

Nice views a good walk you need to be fit as it is more like rock climbing in places. We had a 4 and 7 year old with us but it was to much for our younger child. I had to get gramps to pick them up at lamorna. The cafe at lamorna was nice a good 4-6 hours out.

Friendly staff, really good food and a good selection of beers. The steak is highly recommended. Booking is advisable, especially in peak holiday season.

Dined at Waves whilst visiting a good friend who lives in Penzance. The first thing I noticed when walking in was the cleanliness of the dining area. We were immediately greeted and seated. I chose the Newlyn fish and chips………what a treat cooked to perfection and washed down with chilled pinot Grigio. The service was both friendly and professional and made for a great dining experience. Bonus: dog friendly.
