Superb pizza at the wood-fired pizza place. Lots of great options - I went for the goat cheese with added fennel sausage, and it was fantastic. Perfect balance of savoury with sweet (caramelized onions), everything fresh. Crust was phenomenal. Highly recommended.

I think this is simply the best Pizza I have ever tasted. The base is amazing, no crusts left with everyone eating all of it. Charlie tells me it takes three days to make the dough with fermentation involved. No idea how that works, but he has and you can taste the difference. Thank you to him and his team for such amazing food. They want to provide the best quality possible and believe me they achieve it. If you are anywhere between Padstow and Newquay, this has to be the first choice for Pizza.

Was on our way through town just stopped to get some bits for dinner. Got a great scone kit with jam and cream, some nice beers and pizza. When you buy drinks from the pizza section, you can have them while you wait. Plenty of picnic tables. Great assortment of local drinks and also linked with the Bearded Brewery which has some gorgeous rum and cyder to purchase in take away bottles and bags.

Cornish Fresh should be renamed The Cornish Rude. The shop although well stocked is run by rude unfriendly staff. We visit Mawgan Porth regularly as we have a family holiday home in the area. Every time we visit we usually have to pop to the Cornish rude for some essentials and are always subject to the rude, unwelcoming staff. On our latest visit, on our last evening we thought we would give their take away pizzas a go, however on approaching the counter we were told their take away pizza shop was fully booked (how does a take away pizza shop even get fully booked?) this was despite the staff just standing there with an empty pizza oven. The area could do with a really decent take away operation that will give the Cornish rude a run for their money and may even make them appreciate the busy tourist trade which keeps the local economy running.

The only real convenience shop in Mawgan Porth. They have a captive audience yet somehow seem unable to take advantage of it. The staff are abrupt and rude (as others have noted). The store itself isn’t badly stocked, however it is hugely overpriced. You expect to pay slightly over the odds, especially in the peak holiday season, however their prices are madness. The wood fired pizza is good in theory although they get “fully booked” very quickly and the pizzas are expensive for what they are. If you want groceries or a take away, venturing further afield is by far the best option.

Pizza was amazing. Ham on the Hawaiian for the kids was great and the goats cheese topping was lovely. Proper stone baked bases. But... Bank hol Monday, raining so not busy (we were the 7th ticket) but it took 40 mins to deliver 2 pizzas at which point the kids were going wild. Only had the 'its 30 mins wait' warning once I'd paid, otherwise would have likely trotted on.

Well to be honest it’s pizza isn’t it how great can it be … well to be honest fresh pizza dough homemade sauce and just a few sensible toppings and no outlandish ones made the trip for tea worth while. Great service sensible prices and a cool casual eating areas made the meal fun and enjoyable. Met some American 🇺🇸 tourists whilst there who were from Texas and Denver who appeared to be wrapped up for winter whilst being astounded at us Brits walking around in shorts. Pizza was fresh hot and on point and easy 9.4 out of 10 from me crispy base great fresh taste from the local ingredients used on it. As far as pizza goes could not ask or expect anything else from it. Defo a return trip on our next visit later this year, hopefully the A listers don’t take over the place when we come back 🙏

This is really the only shop in Mawgan Porth where you can get most things - Bettys is great but they don't sell everything that you may need. We've shopped here when on holiday & over the years we've seen improvements and the product range widen which is great. The staff are always lovely, apart from one woman on the pasty counter who was quite curt, but reading other reviews this just seems to be her personality. Glad to hear that the monstrosity of a development they were planning has been quashed that would have been a real eye sore.

We visited the ice cream booth yesterday on our way back from a ride out and as we were about to be served there was a staff handover, which involved the young lady who had been serving as we queued, swapping positions with a short, dark-haired man, approximately in his 30s, wearing black chef's uniform. The man was not observed to use any hand santiser and as we asked for out first icecream he picked up the cone with his bsre hands, and made the ice cream, which was then presented to us with grubby bitten down fingernails. My sister politely pointed out his lack of hygiene demonstration before serving us, and stated she did not want the ice cream, due to obvious reasons. His kneejerk response was to aggressively throw the icecream AT the bin (as opposed to IN) and snap at us that he would be a long time now, having to go and wash his hands. I could then see him inside the kitchen gesticulating angrily at other staff members about what had just happened. The young lady took over again and apologised in an awkward manner, to which I responded that his attitude was of further concern, as it would be a very basic requirement of food hygiene adherence to serve us with clean hands and the correct procedural barriers in place (eg: fresh gloves per customer, or washing hands between customer, or even handling the cones with a napkin) at the best of times - the fact that this is an inconvenience to him during a pandemic, is of further and obviously, more serious concern. Would not visit the establishment for other available foods now, nor in the future, for the reasons stated above; as well as the aggressive and arrogant nature of staff when challenged.Unfortunately, I am forced to leave a minimum of one star rating.

We bought a few different pasties from here, all hot and really tasty. We ordered steak and Stilton. Cheese and onion and a chicken one. All tasted fresh, hot and the best pasty I’ve had in years. The wife also had a freshly made sandwich which did look very good, but I wouldn’t give up a pasty for it.The shop also sold loads of food and fresh cakes, drinks and beach items.

ive been in and out of this shop like a dog at a fair for over 20 years !! Changed hands a lot, used to be a petrol garage and it's at its best now, Sells almost everything you need, cherry blossom shoe polish anyone!!! Always have to pop in here for our weekend essentials, I always buy the local produce as I love Cornish products, yes a bit pricey but I like quality, Huge range of fantastic wines and beers, gin seems popular, the local butchers meat is excellent so is the Cornish ice cream, milk, local cakes and bread, pasties and coffees, deli counter for sandwiches, But the best bit.... The magazine rack!!!!! Someone has good taste in reading matter... Xx

After surfing, if you want a pastie and a cuppa (and an ice cream perhaps?) then this is the place for you. A great place to pick up supplies - some local fudge or gin - and have freshly made sandwich, tucked away just across from the surf school.

This little place is awesome, nestled in a beautiful little spot right by the beach! The shop has so many little special finds and a great selection of alcoholic drinks too and unlike many coastal places the prices weren’t inflated! Our first visit was to just pop in to get some ice cream and essentials (we came out with that and more!) We returned the next night and had freshly cooked made to order pizzas which we were going to eat on the beach but realised we could eat outside on the picnic benches! The pizzas were delicious, the staff friendly! From root beer, antipasti, baby food, gourmet Cornish goodies this place has got it all! My husband never likes shops, even he rated it! Love!!

My mom fancied a coffee whilst we played mini golf opposite this cafe. There's benches outside to sit on and a counter inside offering pasties, soup etc... they have a lot of choice including beers, spirits and cider as well as basic shopping needs. Nice place. Only negative one of the tills broke down and caused a long queue as you couldn't pay for your coffee and food at the food counter but once other till was up and running it was rectified.

Our family of six recently dined here and nearly all of us had the pork belly which was superb, definitely the best we’ve eaten. The pub was really busy, we needed to book, and the atmosphere was lovely. We will be back.

End of season, so food stopped at 4pm, so was a bit disappointed, but that was my fault.

Very interesting place. Full of history. We stayed in the twin room which was very comfortable. A bit small and dark but everything you need with an enquire. Very quiet as it's at the back and beds were really comfortable. Compliments to the chief. We booked into the restaurant for the evening. We weren't disappointed. It was delicious. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.
