We had been gifted an afternoon tea for two, which we were very happy about. Having now been and had our teas, I can only say WOW! Probably the best afternoon tea we've had. A good balance of savoury and sweet, with tea or coffee, including refills. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Definitely highly recommended - we will be going again, maybe to sample the menu.

Half-a$$ed is above the only way to describe this particular hotel. Limited parking, reception was ok. No lift of course upstairs room. That's where the fun started. Got to the room it was cold as a tomb. Also more than a little bit shabby desperately needs a good refurbishing. Turn on the registers nothing happened went to the desk. Was told there wouldn't be any heat on and it would stay that way until 6:00 p.m. they are quote on the timer un quote, which I guess means let's try not to spend any money on heat until someone complains. They did offer to turn the heat on for a little while and they did just long enough to take the chill out of the room. The menu is shockingly weak on seafood for a hotel that's sitting right on Penzance. Went down the street and got a perfectly fine meal there. Came back the room was back to graveyard status again. Waited through 6:00 waited through 7:00 and gave up. Turn the hot water on for an hour to get everything warm in the bathroom enough to go clean up and call it a night. Turn the TV up to 12 to drown out the sound of a pub down below. Granted the pub thing is to some extent our fault because it is above a pub, but we stayed above many pubs that never had any noise level like that. Around 1:00 a.m. it stopped and we turn the TV back down. Around 4:00 a.m. the fire alarm beaped twice yelled fire and then turned off. Breakfast was alternatively available in various forms between 6, 6:30 and 8, and 8:30, or maybe noon. Never opened a door.Due to the lack of parking we either had to be out of their lot by 9:00 or run down to put money in the meter. Sat on the steps until 20 till 9:00 and decided it wasn't worth waiting any longer so we left keys in room (not a sole to be found) . All things being considered I don't think we missed anything. This is just a poor excuse of a way to run a hotel. I'm almost never give a negative review I usually try to find the good somewhere but other than the staff, and their use of a secure Wi-Fi, which I'm finding to be a bigger and bigger problem travelling across the UK, this is a complete and utter hole, and you do better off to sleep in your car in the car park.

Only stayed one night, thank goodness, not very helpful staff, terrible meal that night - worse we had. Breakfast was ok, but they were hanging around to get the room sorted and floor cleaned, felt we were being spied on while eating it. Floor in room very, very creaky, bed like a round top hill, hot water arrived eventually, shower just dribbled! Location and views from room excellent.

I recently stayed at The Yacht Inn, and it was a delightful experience. This small hotel is perfectly situated right next to the sea, offering stunning views that truly enhance the stay. The rooms are well-maintained and spotless, providing a comfortable and relaxing environment. One of the highlights is the bar located on the ground floor, making it easy to grab a drink or a bite whenever you want. Whether you're winding down after a day of exploring or just looking for a casual snack, it's incredibly convenient. A big thumbs up for the breakfast as well—it was delicious and a great way to start the day. Overall, The Yacht Inn offers a cozy and scenic getaway with excellent amenities. Highly recommended!

While the outside is a little tired, the location and inside are great. A warm welcome, there is only a carvery on Sunday at lunchtime but the receptionist recommended an excellent pub a short walk away. A nice room with views across the harbour and Jubilee Pool, comfy bed and fluffy towels made an excellent start to our holiday. The room was over the bar but the noise minimal - even though earplugs are provided in case of a function. Breakfast was very good and the service quick - the lovely chef even remembered our orders on our return stay! A 2 minute walk to the ferry, it was perfect.

Beer was flat as the barman turned the sparkler off. Ruined two decent pints of Tribute. Even when I pointed it out to him, he still pushed the beers towards me, instead of pouring them away and pulling a proper pint with a head. I couldn't finish mine as it was so flat and tasted awful, as a result. Just lazy bartending. I handed what was left of mine back,on the way out and told him why I didn't finish it, cos it was so bad. Won't return. The young woman there, incidentally pulls a beautiful pint, but the bloke with the beard has put us off going there. If they can't get the basics right, or ensure the customer is happy, there's plenty of other places to drink at

We came for Sunday carvery. The food was nice enough but service massively let the visit down. The people working made us feel as though us being there was a burden to them. They rushed us to take a drinks order before my partner had even sat down or taken his coat off then upon going to the bar after eating, I was simply greeted with the card machine to pay before I could even ask for anything else. No check back on food and then asked us straight after if we wanted to order desserts although hadn't even given us a menu to know what there was. No care in the service they were giving at all. Really disappointing considering we’ve both always loved this place. This was our first time visiting in a while and we certainly won’t rush to come back again.

I booked the Yacht Inn because their website raves about their own food. The restaurant was quite empty and was basically run by children …..the bar staff must have been eighteen and were pleasant enough. We ordered crab and there was no crab cracker so the dish had to go back to the kitchen to be broken. The kid serving us (who was about 15)didn’t know why we needed the claws broken. I ordered a medium steak and this came well dine, which the chef disputed as the centre of the stark has a tiny weeny but of pink ….instead I was given lasagna as an alternative….there was so little meat in it …could have passed for vegetarian. I didn’t like arguing with the chef ….who thinks they are always right ….and I didn’t like the excuse of it’s a new menu!! Parking was not great as the pay and display was fully booked out even though there were spaces. I didn’t realise you could pre-book a pay and display. Luckily I managed to find a parking space. The rooms were clean …the mattresses had seen a lot of action. The room was very noisy with lots of door banging at night and people shouting in the street. The room was above the toilets which was very noisy. Ok for a stop over but I wouldn’t recommend the restaurant.

We visited with family, a party of four. I had Moules Mariniere and others had scampi and chips. Other choices included fish and chips and some typically Cornish style menue items. My mussels were very tasty (with cream and white wine) and were served with crusty bread, there was a choice of small or large... I had large and had a big bowl for around £13.50p. All menu items were offered as small or large as far as I could tell. All the others in my party absolutely raved about the quality of the chips, claiming they were the best they had ever tasted. They seemed to be crusty on the outside and fluffy on the inside, I tried one and it was especially good. This is a fine location for a a quality meal without spending too much. We stayed here and despite using the Yacht over the years on visits this was our first stay - and found the pub/hotel worked extremely well. Situated on the front (What a place to witness Monday night's storm - you wouldn't want to be anywhere else!). The Yacht is near loads of other pubs and restaurants and is right by the swimming pool> The 30s "Art Deco" exterior covers a really good pub and restaurant. We loved our room and the breakfasts were just what was needed. Excellent real ales, the 6 Nations on screen and a consistently warm and friendly welcome.. It's not exactly a typical Penzance pub - but all the pubs are eclectic and individual - this is no exception. We didn't have a dinner there this time - there really are so many places we promise ourselves we'll visit in Penzance and around - but have dined there many times in the past and have really relished the menu and quality of cooking. Good deals on Monday/Tuesday and a carvery on Sunday - alli impressive value.

We stopped in for a pint ... had a front row seat on the stormiest night of the year!!It was the perfect place to be to watch the waves crash over the promenade and across the street! A cozy spot to take in a crazy and memorable evening! Very friendly staff!!

A cosy inn within an Art Deco style building close to the seafront, The Yacht Inn was welcoming and had a great menu. Visiting on New Year's Day we came back from a bracing walk to see the Mousehole Christmas Harbour Lights feeling a bit cold and wanting some local homemade food ideally. We chose well! The trio of Cornish fish with new potatoes and salad was absolutely delicious. Cooking fish perfectly is not to be underestimated - it's a real art and this chef has it. My husband had fish and chips and again, said it was some of the best he had eaten. We'll definitely be going back.

Went to the Yacht for a meal, lovely art deco pub, friendly staff, very nice interior with a good selection of drinks. We ordered a meal of fish and chips and Tiger prawns in sweet chilli sauce on a bed of leaves. ( A little mix up where they thought the prawns were a starter which the staff resolved very quickly by bringing extra ). The prawns were very good, my fish was in a lovely light crispy batter, would liked to have seen homemade chips and onion rings for the price ( would set them apart from most of their competition). Over all not a bad experience .

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was good but we didn't sample any of the deserts and only had mains. Breakfast was OK but not a wide range of options but then not a large establishment?

Regularly visit this place when down visiting family. Had Sunday Carvery here 13/11. It was 5*. Choice of 3 Meats and a Nut Roast with 6 Veg, yorkies, Roast Pots and Proper gravy. The potatoes were lovely, meat plentiful and the parsnips OMG! I had mashed swede, cabbage and cauliflower cheese too. There was also carrots and Broccoli. The place is very busy so be warned, BOOK!Well done to Mark and his team. You will not find a better Sunday Roast in Cornwall!

It does look in need of updating, the restaurant is basic but really matters is the food. Ate there on Sunday 25th Sept, could not fault the food.

My family went to the Yacht for lunch to celebrate my mother in laws birthday. I was firstly taken back that they wouldn't serve us hot drinks on a rainy day then even more shocked to find that our lunch was provided in take out cartons. This is not what I expect from a 'gastropub'. I had the 'Cornish Burger' it was the most disgusting burger I had ever had. I love burgers and tend to chose this whenever I go out but that was not a quality burger, that was a cheap supermarket burger. I would have had a nicer one outside in the fairground. Had we had been told about the lack of plate when we reserved a table we would not have stayed for the meal. I didn't complain at the time so not to disappoinnt my Mother in law and my mother, but chose to contact them when i got home. The response was pleasant and they apologised for not informing us of the plastic plate situation which was due to health and safety over that particular weekend, but this does not excuse the quality of the food. I asked if they would like to perhaps invite us back to show us what the food is usually like (perhaps avoiding a bad review? ) however they failed to reply to that message. Hmm won't bother going back.

I came in one evening expecting a regular meal and a regular meal I did not get. All I wanted was a simple sandwich but instead i was delivered something truly magic! I would like to thank the chef that was working that evening for delivering me the best BLT i have ever eaten in my entire life. I even considered leaving my husband for the chef what am I like!!!! I'd like to thank his parents for birthing him and my parents for giving me tastebuds. It also came with chips which is great because I am, to say the least, rotund. I was satisfied with life in general after my visit to the Yacht Inn. They even gave me ketchup. Lord Jesus have mercy on us all. Amen.

Our group of ladies pre-ordered their food, service was good, waitresses very nice but oh my goodness that dining room - no ambience, spotlights in the roof, dark, drab furniture. Such a shame as the view is so good. Fresh flowers though which was a nice touch. For some reason the prawn cocktail was served in a tall wine glass, stuffed with leaves, a dollop of tiny prawns and mayo - a cucumber and lemon slice overstuffed the whole concoction. The fish was reported to be excellent, and the veggies were plentiful and not overcooked. However, the chicken was dry and beef slices were disappointingly tough. Not homecooked I would guess. Sticky toffee pudding came with just a lick of custard and clotted cream. It may have been much wiser to order from the specials board. It may even have been a nicer experience if there isn't a segregation between the pub and the diningroom.

I popped in here looking for an evening meal, but unfortunately, I was a few minutes late. Fortunately, the lovely lady behind the bar checked with the kitchen and they were able to offer me a choice of two meals. I opted for the fish and chips, which came out as a massive portion with two battered fillets. The fish was delicious, as was the rest of the meal, despite not being able to finish it all!

After a sea swim what better way to end the evening than a glas of red and a jacket potato in the yacht
