We popped in here as we had just arrived in Looe and wanted some food. The server was most unfriendly and after I’d placed our order, was handed my receipt with a “there you go” from same girl. She had a very straight face and no personality whatsoever. We will not be returning nor will we recommend.

Had the Best lunch here , Service was great ,very welcoming, dog friendly hosts. Would definitely recommend 👌. See you guys again in February . 😊.

Takeaway Chips Service was slow and chaotic. Food was bland. Being one of two chip shops in town, there isn’t any real competition so standards don’t have to be high and the next load of tourists will be there shortly! Staffed by youngsters with no customer service skills. When ordering chips, they should be ready almost immediately, not a 20 min wait for all the other orders to be processed. Also, if operating a queue system, put signs up so people know where to wait, no need for the aggressive shouting. If we hadn’t already paid, we would have gone elsewhere.

Had fish and chips twice whilst in Looe, first evening they were ok but the second evening I am not sure that the chips were even cooked, fish was grey and tasteless, no point in going back to complain as they have young people serving who shout at you as soon as you enter if you are stood in the incorrect place. Will not go back!

Visited here on a busy Tuesday just after some rain made everyone leave the beach. Ordered sausages and chips (two portions) and apart from the fact that the sausages were wrapped separately from the chips no real complaint. Staff were polite and the prices were good. Waiting time was quite quick considering it was busy. Meal was enjoyable and I would recommend visiting when in Looe

Really poor fish and chips. Chips were underdone, soggy batter on the fish, inconsistent portion sizes, we ordered two of the mini cod and chips and one fish was half the size of the other. Asked for salt and vinegar putting on but none of us could taste it. I guess living within an hour of the best fish and chips in the country at Whitby and Bridlington has spoiled us!

An outstanding fish and chip meal on our holiday, we visited here twice, I first had a regular sized fish and chip meal which I struggled to finish; and I usually have a massive appetite. Later on we visited again and this time I had their mini-cod and chips which was a perfect portion for me that time, sufficiently full without feeling like a beached whale after. It unfortunately gets very very busy here, but for understandable reason given the time of year and quality of the food being served. I cant accurately rate service as I didn't order this myself, but have no known reasons to fault them. Atmosphere only loses a star due to how crowded this shop can become. Thanks again for the excellent experience

We visited here today 19th of August 2024. We were greeted by a very pleasant young man. This young man continued to be our server. I can not say enough about this young man. He was polite friendly and he was willing to go above and beyond. I believe his name was Justin? He is a credit to your business and should be commend for how well he does his job. The food was also very good. All round great experience.

This is the only bad review i have ever made out of many.Nice looking fish and chips resteraunt and takeaway with a lot of people queing you would think very popular. Fish, chips and peas for both me and the wife please. Waited ages for them and was even offering free drinks from the fridge for people waiting. When eventually,our number came up and we paid,went outside to eat them. Chips ok ish but the sprats they had caught that day were also inside my box and cooked in a thick batter to make them look bigger. Honestly 70% batter and 30% dry fish with all the taste fried out of it.Actually thought we had got someones kids meals. If you havent got any quality fish that can be served as a friday fish dinner then dont. Called at the co op on the way back for snacks in the campervan. Only 2 stars cos the chips were average

Staff were about 13, forgot our gravy. Not their fault being fresh out of the womb but the food was also absolutely flavourless. Do not recommend. Go to the kebab shop five minutes away and get a nice pizza to walk home with, spare yourself the pain of this place

Kelly’s is our go to for fish and chips, always good food and always great service .

We visited Kelly’s on a Monday evening during our stay in Looe. We sat in the restaurant upstairs. Put order was taken quickly and drinks arrived promptly. The portions were huge!! Literally the best fish and chips I’ve ever eaten. My daughter doesn’t like chips but we persuaded her to try one this evening and unbelievably she finished my portion! Would visit here again!!

Lovely fish and chips and a cornish rattler! Sat inside to avoid the seagulls! Would imagine it's very busy at peak times but we were lucky on this day. Loved looe though, fantastic little place and the crabbing is fantastic.

Probably the best you could expect in looe but high prices poor service and below average portions and quality.

Lovely takeaway/restaurant near the start of the harbour walk in Looe. Had several portions of fresh Cod and Chips. Was able to make substitutions for curry sauce with no fuss. Got Panko Calamari Rings and Scampi. Normally, I'm a bit worried about the quality of those two but they were both amazing. Best squid I've ever had, for sure. Lovely staff, very reasonable prices and great tasting food. Smashing job, all.

Me and 4 friends came yesterday,the staff were pleasant the food was nice but overpriced and I was disgusted that if I wanted tartare sauce with fish chips and peas I would have to pay extra. I have NEVER in ANY restaurant had to pay for tartare sauce. I think it's mean and penny pinching to charge. But there are many places to eat in Looe. We won't be back.

Dined in, wished we hadn't. Large cod and chips it wasn't. More like a medium and more batter than fish. It was hot however, unlike the chips. Disappointing.

Food was ordered quickly and arrived 10-15 minutes even when they were mildly busy. Food arrived fresh and hot and tasted incredible, not bad portions for the price.

we stopped off for Tea whilst down on holiday, we used the downstairs seating area which was nice to be able to do in a takeaway( although they do have an upstairs resteraunt) the staff despite being busy were very polite and not rushing the customers. the food was done in a timely manner and really good value for money.

Below Average food. 2 pieces of fish one overcooked. Because of the abundance of fresh fish in Looe I was in the hope that the fish would have been ultra fresh with that translucent look when cooked mine was dry. The batter was greasy and heavy. The chips were ok!!! There are seating areas both inside and out. On a whole both areas could do with a good clean up and made more inviting. .Very disappointing and won’t be returning.

Nicely presented in cartons, condiments available for a small extra charge and tasty.

Good food. Confusing menu. Slow service and staff. Waited ages for serving so left, and went for takeout version. Meals are huge, and prices are incorrect on the menu - it costs much more, which is fine but should have it written. Was told all fish was the premium cod so not sure why you would put prices with other fish options if you weren't allowed them. Couldn't just have fish on its own as they said the price was the same with or without which seemed like a lie too. Somehow the meal was over £50. There's plenty of other places that serve. Also they did not specify what's in the food and the peas were mushy- but on the menu it did not state that. Lack of chairs and space too. Rather disappointing when all I asked was fish and chips with salt and vinegar with peas but the order was served wrong. The fish wasn't while either, it was broken up.

Good takeaway, best in Looe Town

Went with a family of four, but won't be returning. The food was tastless and my fish had so much batter around it . For 12.95 per meal I expect it to be better. A lot of wastage from us and others around. Only got given a fork and no knife we had to ask if we could have one,and we were eating in the restaurant.

The portion sizes was good but unfortunately the food was tasteless, no flavour what so ever. Won't be eating there again.

It's most disappointing. The haddock served to my wife was extremely dry, and in her words, the worst haddock she'd ever tasted. My cod was "Ok" but no better. Chips not too good. Considering location and, more importantly, on pricey side. You even had to pay 50p for each tatare sauce!! Definitely would NOT recommend, sadly. Was looking to treat my wife (likes fish) as she's not well. This was anything but a treat. Better available in Wiltshire!!

Visited last weekend and we were all beyond impressed. Food was superb, service great extensive menu and the restaurant is lovely. Definitely will be my new local.

Enjoyed a very nice meal at Kellys. The kids meals were a good size, with enough chips and fish for our big 7 and 10 year olds. Our cod and haddock fillets were excellent and very fresh, along with a shared large piston of chips there was more than enough food. Recommended by our hosts at Oaks Holiday Park, it was a perfect meal for the first night in Looe. We had no problem parking right next door in the harbour carpark, but it was April. During the summer they are very organised and set up for lots more customers, with ordering screens in the shop and a big kitchen. Nice place.

Visited early on a Sunday evening after a nearby pub was not serving food. My youngest son and I don’t normally have Fish, however so glad we did. It was done to perfection, fluffy in the inside and just right crispy batter! We loved it, even the chips were all edible. My husband had the same and my other son sausage and chips. We managed to get a table. Yes we could have done with bigger cutlery, but it’s a takeaway. Yes bins needed emptying, however it was near to closing so understand. Toilets were immaculate though and staff really friendly. We’d definitely eat there again if in the area.

Oh dear. Gone really downhill. Four tables open downstairs despite having a big seating area upstairs. Not very pleasant eating from the box with a small wooden fork. Food was very overpriced for what it was, and mediocre. Bins were overflowing and tables dirty. Won’t be returning.

I'm local and only visited because our preferred chippy across the road is currently closed. First impression is the state of the place - not very clean, I'll say no more! Service was monosyllabic with a grimace - the maid with the ring in her nose really needs to learn the basic customer service skills. Chips were OK, but only average (frozen?). Won't be going back.

Clean and efficient service there's some online/tablet arrangement which I'm far too old for 😁 friendly staff if you go for the large cod it is enormous, nicely cooked and tasty.

WHAT HAPPENED ???? This was once one of the best fish and chip shops for miles. I have not been for a while and was looking forward to lunch, BUT the smell as entered was a clue,, it was smelly, dirty and when I saw what was being served I left. NEVER AGAIN.

We passed by here yesterday for a portion of chips. We ordered, paid and then waited ages for one portion of take away chips. We ordered a medium and I have never even had a small portion this size. A total rip off. Not impressed at all!!

1st time useing this chippy, food was nice but christ alive the amount of food i had for the price is shocking small chips is just over £2 odd and i didnt even get a full tray, 1st and last time of me useing this place for sure!!

That is what i call a well made FISH AND CHIPS, you don't find it that fresh every day. All boxes are ticked out once you enter this place, really exceeded my expectations. Had the chance to have a good Cod Fish & chips there as diner, and trust me - the welcome and hospitality is superb, I was served by Sam and his team. The quality of food is at a very excellent level; good batter, nice fragrant curry sauce as well as the surrounding areas and toilet amenities are excellent and cleaned and tidy and presentable, all sauces are fully stocked. I would highly recommend to everyone who comes nearby to drop-in and give it a try, no regrets and a good experience too xxxThank you Sam for the great service xxx

We were really looking forward to our meal from Kelly's last night to start our weekend away. But was so disappointed. I will never buy from here again. Our order cost just under £45. x2 cod and chips, x2 sausages in batter, x1 kids cod and chips and x3 mushy peas. Only positive I have was the portions were a good size. The fish was like rubber, half of the chips were undercooked . The sausages tasted ok but not nice. And the mushy peas tasted like soap. Update: I felt quite sick overnight, but tried to just ignore it. Now husband is awake and he says he's been feeling sick all night too. We both only ate food from Kelly's.

We went in for a takeaway, this place looked clean & tidy so we ordered here. Very happy with the food, big portions, fish was so fresh & perfectly cooked, ordered the sweet chilli squid balls (special) which went down very well, chips were good. The over priced £25 meal (for 2 people) consisting of poor quality prepared food (e.g., oily fish in a soft batter, poor quality of chips, and gray dried blob of something meant to be mushy peas), confirmed that, on my next visit to Looe, I will not be eating at Kelly's of Looe ever again. Here's why! I was really really looking forward to having my very first order of fish & chips and mushy peas at Kelly's (previously one of my favorite spots for food in Looe) in December as part of my month long vist back home to the UK! Unfortunately, my experience at Kelly's of Looe left me wondering about the overall freshness of their food. First, the fish & chips meal was NOT LIKE ANY of my previous experiences at this restaurant and the mushy peas were disgustingly old. When I opened the lid of the container the peas I was hit by gray colored cracked blob. I had to throw the mushy peas away. Second, the fish and batter was too oily for me. This oil drowned out the taste and crunchness of the batter and taste of the cod. I felt was though I was drinking cooking oil. Third, the chips were coldish, somewhat dried out, and some were withered. This suggests they may have been selected from a cooked batch that had been sitting there for a while, and may have come from a frozen batch of chips (i.e., not freshly cut and fried). Fourth, the lackluster customer-style greeting at the counter from the two adult people (a young woman and young man who never smiled and made very poor eye contact), left us (as customers who were willing to spend our money in this establishment) feeling unwelcomed. This set the tone for an unpleasant environment. The young woman who took our order was cold and unwelcoming. The young man with her was pretty much the same. In fact none of the 3 people working there, including the man frying the food, ever engaged in business rapport with any their customers. Fifth, customers who chose to stay in and were forced to sit downstairs, at wobbly tables located close to very large bins. I had to roll up the only napkin provided and try to prop up the table. That didn't work. Not nice at all. Finally, I guess this is a thing in some restaurants in the UK now so beware, customers have to pay for the condiment packets at 50p a packet here.

We called in this shop with friends whilst down on Christmas holiday as it was recommended to us. The fish is as good as you can get the batter is perfect and the fish is delicious. The staff are very friendly and the shop is spotlessly clean.
