Pasty Presto in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

We use Cornish bakery every morning before work after our walk - the service we have from all the staff is impeccable and nothing is ever a problem, they go out of there way to make the start of our day just perfect. Amy is just so lovely and you Cornish bakery are lucky to have her.

Brought pasties home for family. Stilton and steak was awful. Pork and apple was awful, suspect sausage meat and not pork. Heavy thick pastry that was bland. Almost raw vegetables in all. VERY disappointed indeed. Parents words ‘they were the worst pasties ever’. Terrible shame this and feel that they are abusing their service to fleece tourists for sub-standard Cornish produce. Go elsewhere if you read this please. Will not be using them again. 1/10

Some of the best pasties in Padstow! Quick and friendly service. Cash only but that’s not an issue. Only thing I would say is the lamb pasty could have had a little more lamb in but it was still delicious! Can’t wait to return next year.

The food is probably great, I never got to taste any because they refused to take my money. They bagged the food up, I offered my £15 but was told it's 'Card only sorry'. So I walked out and bought some from around the corner... and left a 50p staff tip. Shame really.

We’ve had pasties from these guys several times and they’ve all been superb. The pastry is light and flaky and the veg really tasty. The vegan cauliflower bhaji pasty is incredible and I’m a meat eater. Lovely.

As it stands the best pasty i've eaten in Cornwall, pastry was cooked to perfection, flavoured and seasoned just right and the taste gold star. I ate bacon chorizo and chicken yum and steak and stilton highly recommended

What a mistake. Ordered a Steak and Stilton Pasty. I was going to enjoy as i walked around padstow but it was cool to cold. Ate about a third. Threw the rest. Wasn’t going to walk all the way back to complain.

I love the choice and variety of this pasty shop, including vegetarian and vegan pasties. All the ones we've tried have been delicious. If only I had one closer to home.

Went to the Cornish bakery to get some gluten free pasty.I was walking by and so impressed to see that they did it.Not many places do so this really stands out.The steak pasty was so delicious.I also got the raspberry Lipton for my drink,that was so delicious too.They also do gluten free cakes and sausage rolls as well.On average pasties take about 15-20 minutes to make here.Would highly recommended,thank you so much for doing gluten free pasty!

Walked in, was instantly greeted by 2 lovely woman. I had a chicken and leak pasty. Unfortunately, a man came in and screamed at these waiters foe the most silliest reason "too hot" flung his pastie at them and stormed out and started screaming" Nobody come here!". I felt so bad for the innocent ladies! The pasties were BRILL! Fair price and lovely service! 10/10 DEFO RECOMMEND!❤️❤️

Best pasties we found, Newquay and Truro tried. Decent filling, lovely pastry. Beautiful place, Padstow is lovely day out, plenty of little shops,cafes, beautiful resteraunts ( Fish specialities). Quaint fishing harbour.

Most mornings before work we go for a walk to start our day off - We also treat ourselves to a coffee most days . Without fail the best coffee around plus all the staff in the Padstow branch are so friendly, always remember our order. Would never go anywhere else for coffee.

Fabulous pasties with a great balance of seasoning. Probably some of the best I’ve had.

I think they have the best pasties in Padstow, some good quality fillings with just the right amount of seasoning. Staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Just popped in for a treat to have later with a cup of tea and picked up a cherry and almond croissant. Oh my, quite possibly the best pastry I have ever had in all my 48 years. Absolutely delicious, so flavourful, rich with cherry, generous in size, flaky and buttery and bursting with almonds. Alas, not available online to order but probably a good thing to keep it an occasional treat!

The cheese broccoli and sweetcorn pasty was delicious and a great change from cheese and onion being a vegetarian best I've ever had.

Had the vegetarian pasty, which was okay, but personally I would have preferred a more tastier filling and less pastry. I wish I’d tried the vegan pasty, which (allegedly) had a slightly spicier filling, as I did find the vegetarian one a little bland. Thankfully there was HP Sauce available to give it a little more flavour.

One of our faves. Hasn't changed over the years Friendly service and alternative and different pasties. The apple rhubarb custard is a particular family favourite. We always look forward to visiting again.

Outstanding 😊 the Cornish pudding and Apple and rhubarb custard pasty were not only unusual but also so delicious we had to go back and try more cakes. This will definitely be a must visit on our return visits to Padstow 😍

Shocking - don’t expect to pay with cash! Insisted on card payments - I voted with me feet.

Had 2 large traditional pasties last Thursday afternoon at £6.50 each. They only had 1 and they had to go to another pasty shop next door to get me the other one. Pasties were delicious and cannot fault them at all. However, they stung me on the price and I never realised it until I had got back to Cardiff the following day. I paid using contactless as they do not accept cash ( same with most businesses in Padstow)...only to find out that I was charged £15.65 instead of £13.............now, I know it is only a £2.5 difference but at the end of the day that is better off in my pocket only. Still, cracking Pasties !

From someone that lives in Cornwall, these are amazing pasties from here. We had traditional, lamb and mint and pork with apple. Pastry was amazing Lovely service to go along with it. Thank you 😊

The service lacked that of its neighbours. The pasty was a delightful and the vimto was a happy a compliment. The stock was packing when I went in. But would gladly go back. (Stock is why 4out of 5 as it was only 2pm)

Had the chicken chorizo bacon pasty. Absolutely revolting. Tasted so cheap and nasty that a £1 pasty from Asda would have been nicer

Very normal cornish pasty shop in padstow. Similar to the two next to it and same prices. A cornish pasty is a cornish pasty nothing that special about it, same goes for this shop but its ok. If u want a pasty you can get one here

Bagged a traditional Pasty on an Easter Bank holiday after walking from Wadebridge and building the energy to walk back. I wasn't disappointed. Both me and the dog enjoyed it. Watched some London types complaining that they had cold pasties - disgusting behaviour.

I popped in here today and was really pleased to be able to buy a gluten free pasty! I haven't been able to have a pasty with decent pastry for years and the steak one we had was excellent with really crunchy pastry. The ladies in the shop were so helpful and also checked their allergies file to reassure me (I also cannot have any form of animal derived milk). 10/10 and will pop in again if we are in the area. Bravo - you made one lady very happy!

Had a selection of pasties including cheese and onion, cheese brocoli and sweetcorn, traditional and chicken & chorizo. Without exception, the pasties were the worst veggie and meaty ones we've had while in Cornwall. Very greasy and poorly cooked veg. Disappointing all round. Would definitely try one of the two other pasty shops next door.

Staff very rude, pasty cold with hard vegetables

The pasty was bad and the customer service was even worse. A miserable woman and man serving. The woman was incredibly rude and unhelpful and the man threw our pasties at us like they were a child’s dirty nappy. Go to one of the two other pasty shops next door. You will easily spot them, they are the ones with customers in…

Only ever have a few pasties from their menu and the regular Cornish pasty was disappointing

Visited whilst with my family . The staff were friendly and approachable and looked like they were enjoying their job , even with a line out the door . The pasty’s and cherry and almond tart was amazing , so was the coffee . Would recommend

Bledy ansum pasties all year round, coming from a local as well, I think there the best in padstow hands down, brilliantly cook, amazing and fast service, politeness from all the staff, well worth going to get your pasties from if your ever in padstow

Really friendly customer service with good coffee, great pasties and delicious pastry! We tried pasties from nearly all the places in Padstow and The Cornish Bakery was, despite being a chain, probably the best all-round. Whilst other places might have a slightly better pasty, they are often found wanting in other areas - not here! Whether you want a pasty, pastry or a coffee, the Cornish Bakery is a great choice.

Wherever I am I hunt town the Cornish Bakery. It’s quite easy to really, I just follow my nose.I love their ethos but most importantly their pastries are the most delicious things to grace this Planet.I’d actually rugby tackle someone for the last Cherry Croissant. The bakery in Fowey is great but Padstow staff are particularly happy, nice people. Maybe it’s because the location is so gorgeous or maybe it’s just because they are simply very happy, nice people.

As a keen cyclist and cornish local, I love visiting Padstow and stopping for a traditional cornish pasty lunch. Not only does The Cornish Bakery do the best Cornish Pasties in Cornwall, the coffee is always top quality and their cherry and almond croissants are legendary in the county. The service I got from the happy staff was excellent and despite being very busy, they were having a laugh and good cornish banter with all the customers. Forget paying £20 for Rick Steins below average fish and chips, come and treat yourself to an ansome cornish pasty.

I regularly pop in for a coffee and occasionally treat myself to one of the many flavours of pasty, or a sweet treat!As I work in the town, it’s nice to have somewhere on my door step that does really good coffee (I consider myself a coffee snob),with a friendly atmosphere and great staff!Well done team Padstow!! This is one of our two favourite pasty makers (and we've tried quite a few). In the Padstow shop (one of the few pasty shops open in the lockdown) they have a great range of freshly made patisseries, cakes and of course pasties. The staff are really friendly and helpful and the pasties delicious

Nice pasties available including a very nice vegan curried cauliflower option with good pastry. Also a good offering of cakes

I asked for a recommendation and got attitude then the guy walked off. I then chose beef and Stilton as was looking for something with an interesting flavour. There was absolutely NO Stilton in it. Just beef and potato. No flavour whatsoever. They should at least offer sauce if the food is that bland. I’ve had better grinster pasty’s!! Was expecting it to be quite special as it’s a local dish!

Tried to buy some bread...must be the only bakery that does not sell bread! Then when I walked out and looked at the sign saying ‘Cornish Bakery’ I was virtually chased out of the shop by the serving assistant.The rudest , most unfriendly even aggressive behaviour I have ever encountered, when all I was trying to do was buy something,

Padstow is a once in a lifetime experience, at least, I for one am not itching to return. It is not the place I remember and Covid-19 exacerbates the situation.So crowded but we were able to pick a delicious snack lunch to eat on the go. Not cheap but very tasty and to be recommended for those on the go. Of course good to eat at home if you can resist the aroma of fresh baking to get it there.

Dropped in here to grab some pasties for lunch, knowing they did a mixture of original and quirky flavours.We weren’t disappointed with our choices, with two in our party going for the fruity pasties.Freshly made coffees and cloudy lemonade helped to wash down the delicious food.

We called in on a day trip to Padstow and we weren’t disappointed! It was clean, very well run with the current circumstances, and the food was absolutely delicious.The vegan pasty was amazing, and apparently the traditional pasty wasn’t bad either! Excellent food, fab service, definitely worth a visit if you’re in Padstow.

Great Gluten Free Pasties! Ordered a gf traditional pasty & a giant “normal” traditional pasty for takeaway to have for dinner the next evening once we arrived home. And they were both amazing! I would definitely recommend stopping here 🤤

We stopped here to pick up some bits to take back with us, every corner has a bakery but we were not disappointed with our choice. A litlle bit expensive for pastries but you makes your choice.

Myself and the family have stopped off at The Cornish Bakery for pastries, pasties and cakes on various days to take on our walking trips around the area. The food has tasted fantastic, lots of tasty options especially the varied choices of pasties that are available. They have a discount for Emergency workers at a fantastic 25% which has meant we have been going there regularly. Lovely to get a discount when one of us has worked their socks off during lockdown earlier this year.

Visited the Cornish bakery on our visit to Padstow last week. We went last year too but this time around there was a huge improvement. Staff v friendly, Covid precautions taken seriously and both the pasty and pastry were really fresh. We weren’t going to revisit as weren’t impressed last time but the window display was appealing. Keep it up!

Disappointing and overpriced pasty compared to others we have enjoyed in Cornwall. Smaller in size than a medium pasty elsewhere, too much pastry and potato and little meat. Enjoy lovely Padstow but bring your pasty with you!

We decided to try a Cornish pasty with traditional meat and potato, whilst visiting Padstow....we only wish we could eat them more often, having enjoyed it so much!! Chunky, succulent pieces of meat, mixed with chunks of potato and onion. It was deliciously moist with a light pastry.....and I’m not normally big on pastry. Would certainly recommend. Only wish we’d tried a sweet pasty too.

Visited today,was well impressed with shop window display, decided to go in for a coffee and pastry, was not disappointed, staff very friendly and welcoming, will definitely be going back, coffee was the best, so was the chocolate pastry

Took my children to buy their lunch and the cornish bakery window was so enticing. baskets full of delicious pasties and pastries all looking fresh, well organised and clean, All the staff were friendly and patient as I had to go over my sons allergies. Excellent use of allergy chart every time we go and we never feel rushed. Dani was very helpful and checked our order. My coffee was delicious, sometimes decaf can be tasteless but this coffee has a great taste with a lovely feather pattern on top of the creamy milk. Steve was busy making fresh dough and the smell of fresh pasties coming out of oven was mouth watering. All the staff were very friendly With smart uniform and well presented. We all loved our pasties and have become regulars already. Thank you to the whole team, I will be returning soon as I saw I was able to buy 10 frozen pasties to take home, which will be a great school holidays lunch !
