My Wife and I had Pork Belly and Sea Bass rather that the usual Sunday Roast. The Food was absolutely divine and the two girl waitress were attentive, friendly and an absolute dream to have met. We will definitely be coming back in the near future. Efaristo ( Thank you in Greek) and well done to the Derby Inn and the team running the establishment.

Came here with a party of 6 for Mother’s Day. Our roast dinners were outstanding & the Yorkshire puddings nothing short of spectacular. Even though the pub was obviously fully booked & the staff were really busy we were really well looked after. The fresh flowers on all the tables were a lovely touch & the whole place was charming, a proper quaint country pub. We will definitely be returning very soon

A bit off the beaten track but a joy to discover. The menu is a bit OTT in the discriptions department but the food is very good. They also do a very nice pint of dark ale. The atmosphere was good as was the service.

This restaurant really needs to determine its demographic. While the food was sublime the restaurant was packed and I mean packed with children. We asked to be moved three times before finding a semi-quiet table. It was like attending a creche. This is fine if you are paying for a chain restaurant but not for a restaurant that purports fine dining. It's not only the food but the ambience that counts. This could all be rectified by having a family restaurant and one for adults. Service was slow initially too. Had to wait 30 minutes for a cocktail although we were offerred some "bubbles" as the staff recognised the delay. We were told by staff that the hotel aims for kids at the weekend so sadly we will now avoid but as I said earlier the food was wonderful but sadly overshadowed by the kids.

We have just had a lovely time at the De Havilland. We took our friends, who had visited from France, here for a Sunday Roast which was very nice, but most importantly the setting and atmosphere was very welcoming. The two young waitresses, Megan and Mia were so friendly and helpful which is so important. We will definitely come again.

A lovely spot to sit back with a pint and enjoy some cricket on the field. The service was excellent, with a solid selection of beers on offer. The sweet pecorino peppers from the bar were a standout—absolutely delicious!

Understaffed argumentative and rude... very unwelcoming upon arrival - I was told before the shift had even started by a short cross bespectacled woman that most of the tables were booked (which was odd as there were only 2 staff members on shift for bar and restaurant), and the larger ones were being saved 'in case more people come'. After my meal I eventually managed to catch the eye of one of them hoping to order more wine and dessert but was blatantly ignored. In the end I gave up and had to go and get one of them to take my payment. Upon remarking that they were massively understaffed and I would have ordered more food and wine if I hadn't been ignored, I was told by the same cross woman who told me the tables were booked that 'these are all walk-ins, and I hadn't been ignored, even though she could neither corroborate or deny this as she had not herself witnessed the incident? Heaven knows what they would have done if the imaginary people they were saving the tables for had turned up?! Treating real and present customers like 2nd class citizens in favour of imaginary ones doesn't seem like a good business model to me... Understaffing has cost this business money today. Avoid.

Stayed overnight for a meal after our long walk in North Warnborough. Pleasant enough, bedrooms were comfortable. Bed very comfortable. Staff were friendly, happy to make one feel welcome, although, being a Monday we were the only ones there! Needs much TLC, building showing it's age. Paint had been dripped onto the radiator in my room. Door was stiff to close. There was no chef as such, meals were cooked/warmed up by staff. Unfortunately my friend had to send her Hunters Chicken back as the chicken was hard like it had been cooked twice. Able to swap for a macaroni cheese. I enjoyed a mushroom pie. However kitchen closed at 9pm and we were not offered a dessert. Which I thought was a bit mean given we were delayed in eating because of returning original meal. It was fine for one night, although at £81 a night and no breakfast was steep when other local hotels were less and I would have expected better for that price. The cafe/village shop did a good breakfast, just a walk away.

I thought the lamb rump was excellent. Tender and very tasty. And the friendly and efficient service from the assistant manager Simon was first rate. Will definitely come again.

Avoid, an employee believes it is okay to show total disrespect to the customers and speak to them as though they are a piece of dirt. Very argumentative and doctoral with no compassion. We moved a table in the garden! No notification stating not to. My family took me out following a diagnosis as a means to cheer us up. Our custom is lost to this venue. Better customer service at The Mill.

We went in for a cup of tea at this self-service cafe. The service was slow because a new member of staff was being trained but not properly guided or supervised. We then looked for a table. The cafe was less than a quarter full but there was not one clear table to sit at! There were no clearing staff in sight so we cleared a table for ourselves, but of course we could not wipe it down. About 10 minutes later a member of staff appeared, surveyed the tables and left without taking a single item with them. Shortly after another member of staff appeared and cleared one table (one down only forty left) and took a full tray out. Two minutes later she came back and started on the next table. Then the first member of staff came back and started remonstrating with the one clearing the table. She then went off and the table clearer took a second tray out. At this rate she was never going to clear all the tables as new ones were being created quicker that she could deal with them. A bit of common sense is required: use a trolley so that several tables can be cleared at a time.
