The Foresters Pub and Restuarant in Hart

Nice pub with good food. However the service is non existent so if you want anything at all you have to get up and wander around the empty pub trying to find your server who is inevitably chatting to other staff members. This would have been acceptable for a local pub but then they add a 10% service charge onto the bill? For what? Haha

I have eaten & socialised at this establishment several times now & can recommend it 100%! Great food, great atmosphere & and fairly priced too. My last visit was with some mates for a catch up & I had the Sunday roast which was pretty decent & enjoyable, but the food is generally really good & tasty! The location is good, sort of halfway between Fleet & Farnborough in the Chuch Crookham area & surrounded by some lovely trees & landscape.

Booked a table for myself and a friend. Ordered drinks which were good. The food menu was a bit disappointing for me as I can't have wheat or dairy and there was 2 dishes left for me to choose from. Neither were from the 2 for £18 menu so I had to pay more. The food took a while to come out although it wasn't busy but it tasted ok. I felt they could have done more on the service and a wider option of food on the menu

We booked a specific table in advance for a special occasion, family travelled to meet from up North and Spain for a special retirement get together, having eaten here for many years and loved it, sadly the night was ruined by the table not being what we asked for, and the very rude front of house waitress we were met by! Not the right person for for of house at all! Given the limited options of 2 tables pushed together that didn't even match in height...we ended up sat next to the men's toilet. Such a shame as the food here is fabulous and we've had so many great visits here, the one time we wanted it to be perfect they've massively let themselves down....and we won't go back again because of it. Such a shame!

Enjoyable meal and a fair price off the set menu. My only slight downsides were that I would have liked to see more variety in terms of the beer and cider options and the side veg didn’t look or taste fresh with the burger that I ordered. Besides that it was very good and a lively atmosphere.

We opted to try The Foresters on the basis of having driven past countless times and the menu. We went expecting to get a good pub meal - we got a good pub meal. Not pretentious, but well presented. Staff were suitably attentive without being overly so.

Good midweek lunch at the Foresters today. I visited yesterday to check accessibility as one of our party is of limited mobility ( wheelchair user), Sam was so helpful. Reserved a table for us where we could push a wheelchair under if necessary. Good food, speedy service and enough people to have atmosphere on a Thursday lunchtime. Dogs very well catered for! Our last visit was two years ago and it was good to be back.

First time visiting with a puppy and meeting family. Just thought that the whole set up was so good and welcoming. We visited on a Sunday at 3:30 and had a booking of 12 and most had the carvery. Excellent value and great food

Had lunch (carvery) with an extended family group. Food was of good quality and the meat was delicious. Staff were on top of their game and very accommodating for such a large group. Not had the Sunday carvery here before but thoroughly recommend it - judging by how busy it was lots of others seem to think the same too.

we have used the foresters for 11 years not including the last 3 as we lost the dog we used to take their, we never had a thing to complain about then, but going there for lunch recently, we were shown to the table by a polite member of staff, but he had to go and find the lunch time cards that have a food menu and had to go and look for them, so we would say not very organised, but it wasn't long until we got them, a different waiter took our order i had the ribeye and my hubby had the pork, i was asked how i wanted the steak cooked but wasn't given the choice of chips or dauphinoise potatoes, which i can't stand, i'm a chip person, when it turned up the plate was nearly cold and the steak has been sliced, god knows why, it came with a steak knife that was pointless if they are slicing it for you, buy the time i had two of the slices the rest was stone cold, slicing it is a total waste of time, i'm getting on in age but i'm still capable of cutting up my own food, they should have returned to the table and checked did i want chips instead of the chef putting whatever he felt like at the time, poor menu choice for lunch food and desserts as well, very disappointed, will not be returning

The main courses were lukewarm at best and the plates were cold, which did not help. The food did not seem to be cooked to order but more like reheated to order. Even the dessert of sticky toffee pudding was lukewarm at best. The bill, with it's discretionary 10% charge was presented with the discretionary charge already added. And to really end it all, the card machine was presented so I couldn't see how much I was actually expected to pay! Needless to say the bill already included the 10% discretionary charge. This was the last straw! I'm sure that you won't miss our custom, but what used to be the best pub to eat in Fleet has now become one of the worst in our opinion.

Had not visited for a few years, but glad that I did today. Friendly greeting when I walked in, which is always a good start. Quickly shown to our table (which we had reserved, and reservations are essential). Good choices on menu including rack of ribs, but I went for the roast. Had roast beef with all the trimmings. Good quality, plenty of food, so good value for just under £17. Free parking and card payments welcomed. Recommended.

Since popping in here for drinks one Sunday afternoon we were tempted by the sight and smell of the carvery and decided to come back for a family dinner. The service was excellent, all the staff were friendly and helpful and very accommodating of my elderly mother's needs. The food was all top notch including the meat. If I had one complaint it would be that the gravy was too watery for my taste but I know not everyone likes gravy you can stand a spoon in! Great job guys.

We looked forward to a Sunday roast with great expectation… At The Foresters, the seating area was small and cramped, the table and menu cards were sticky and unhygienic. The service was very slow, we asked for a jug of water and it was forgotten. We ordered soft drinks from the drink menu and they haven’t got any left (the iced blended goblets) Leaving all those details aside, the vegetables that came with the roast were cold, the gravy runny like water, the roast parsnips dry and hard and the beef very chewy. Overall, this is a Sunday roast we never ever want to repeat!

So disappointed with the food quality. Had a sharer portion of potatoes skins - zero flavour/ dried potatoes more like potato peelings. Burger was OK but £18:45 so incredibly expensive. Overall service was fine but the food felt more Wetherspoons on a bad day.

Quick review. I belong to an old crumble Monday walking group. A five (or so) so walk followed by a pub lunch. Today's lunch venue was The Foresters in Church Crookham near Fleet. 10 of us for lunch. A tad dearer than our normal venues. Truly lovely very good food. Everyone loved their food. The Foresters is definitely a "keeper" looking forward to visiting again...... Recommended.....

Booked for the Sunday carvery and we were not dissapointed. The staff were very accommodating when we added 2 more people plus a baby in a pram to our booking for 4 at the last minute, they were helpful and friendly and the food was fantastic and reasonably priced. I would not hesitate to reccomendf this pub and will be returning.

This is a lovely pub that is truly dog friendly with enthusiastic and caring staff. It is therefore really disappointing that they are let down more recently by a new uninspiring menu and poor quality of food. I took my parents out for Saturday lunch at the end of June. We had buttermilk chicken wrap, camembert and bacon toasted baguette and crayfish brioche bun all approximately £12 each. The wrap was nice but not twelve pounds nice - it was bland and lacked any imaginative flavor. The crayfish were small and more prawn than cray. Whilst the biggest letdown was the baguette. At gourmet pub prices and former experience, I was anticipating an artisan bread but, to be blunt, this was an anemic half baked baguette from the supermarket that was warmed (rather than toasted) as if it were a panini. We used to love the Foresters - but since summer 2022, the menu and quality of the food have slipped. The food is not representative of gastro-pub prices nor quality. It is such as shame because the staff are friendly, dogs are welcome and the ABK beers delightful. Foresters - please go back to the menu and quality of 2020-2021.

Just popped in after a dog walk the menu described loaded skins with cheese sour cream bacon ect . So a loaded skin is a full half of a baked potato scooped out and crisped up and re filled! Not a sliced baked potato with a slimy texture covered in the sauces? Very disappointed.

Nice surroundings lots on the menu if your prepared to wait a while, the small plate menu is just as big as a large starter, so be warned, staff a bit miserable, we’ll are server was, they will add a service charge on the bill so also be warned about that as well. We went in a party of 8, it was on a Saturday afternoon and the pub was busy. So worth giving it ago, I personally won’t go again, there’s better pubs about that are cheaper and better service and food.

I took overseas visitors Staff were lovely , venue and setting great Meal sooo disappointing Chardonnay wine was warm (Both my friends order) my sauvignon blanc was cool Eggs benedict .. hard egg Calves liver was sinewy and tough .(unable to cut it with the table knife). swamped in gravy so it couldn't be seen. Salads were mediocre at best Presentation zero cost extortionate and 10% automatically added to an already extortionate bill I haven't been there for a few years and wont be going back again anytime soon

I had previously given this pub a poor rating some months ago so it’s only right to say when it’s been good.My wife & I went there for Sunday lunch and had a mixed board of pork & beef which came with parsnips, cauliflower cheese, carrots, Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes. (They have since started doing their buffet carvery Sunday lunches)Food was good especially the pork. The only comment I would add is it would be good if they could find a way for it to be delivered steaming hot at your table. We would go again for Sunday lunch and did go back for a beer in their garden a few days later.

We held my fathers..Peter Richardson’s… wake at the foresters & I can’t begin to express how wonderful everything was. Luka and his wonderful team including Inga and the lovely lady that greeted us early before opening time just couldn’t do enough for us. The food was delicious, the attention to detail was perfect and the caring and thoughtful approach to all our family and friends could not be faulted. …& that’s without mentioning the beautiful location & cosy rustic decor of the interior!!I believe everyone that attended our celebration of my fathers life have every intention in revisiting on their own at some point. Thank you Foresters for everything you have done. My family are beyond grateful and we will definitely become regulars!!

From beginning to end it was excellent. We had the smoked brisket sharing platter which was out of this world. A definite much for anyone who wants a beautiful setting with great staff and amazing food. Thank you the foresters, you made our anniversary night amazing.

I went to see the local band Flood the Main perform at the forester's. The pub was very well-equipped for such an event, the music was fantastic and I am happy to support a business that supports local arts! I had a fantastic night!

Excellent food, great service. We had the tomahawk steak which was delicious, great seasoning and cooked to perfection. A little fatty but it is a cut where that is to be expected. I thought it was tremendous value for money and much better cooked than steaks we have at a well known chain of steak restaurants.

Although some aspects of the meal were ok, I was totally disappointed by the rib-eye steak that I was served. It was filled with lumps of fat and there was not a single mouthful I could take without consuming the chewy, fatty gristle which completely peppered the whole steak, throughout. Eventually, I could not face another mouthful and at £23 per serving, that is just totally unacceptable. My friend had the same dish and had to cut masive amounts of fat off and she worked her way through the meal. Bit of a strange menu too...not a single chicken dish in sight. I did consider having the cod loin... thank goodness I decided against it, the overly strong whiff of fish when it came out of the kitchen definitely didn't indicate that the fish was fresh....just the opposite in fact. Will not be returning. This is the second time we have been really disppointed.

Food is great, tasty fresh, hot from innovative menu. Service well trained attentive and polite. Portions are big - we popped in for a snack, ended up eating full meal and pudding.

Third visit to this pub. First time having a Sunday roast here and I could not fault it. Had the sharing roast for two and loved it. Even better that we could bring our dog with us. We will definitely be back. Thank you to the lovely staff who were friendly and polite.

Fabulous roast Sunday lunch with all the trimmings. Mountains of great meat (we had beef and pork loin). Vegetables beautifully cooked, tasty gravy. And you should have seen the Yorkshire puddings! What more could you want. Would certainly return and recommend. Truly good value lunch and good service.

The food was good but the service was not. It was 5pm, it was raining and there were only a couple of tables outside. I could only see three other tables inside and there were plenty of staff but we were pretty much ignored. No one checked our meals. We would have had desserts and coffee but we had to ask for menus after our mains were cleared and then no one came near us to take an order. We had empty glasses but no one offered us another drink. Gave up. 4 stars for the food, surroundings and atmosphere, 2 for service.

My elderly parents, partner & I ate lunch at The Foresters mid week. The car park has been seriously reduced due to outside tables taking over most of the car park - not much good with elderly disabled parents. The pub was busier inside than it was outside. But there was no atmosphere. Menu for me as a vegetarian was disappointing, there were a few small plates or onion Bhaji & carrot focaccia with chips which I ordered, or a cauliflower steak for £14!!!!!! Service was good. Very friendly staff. Food was very average my focaccia sandwich was very dry & definitely not a foccacia. Small onion & carrot Bhajis with chick peas, in a dry panini. Not great. I wouldn’t return to the Foresters, nor would I recommend. No atmosphere, very average menu.

It wasn’t great. My wife are doing Sunday lunch in 20 pubs / restaurants in the next 5 months and the Forrester’s are week 3.The Heron OTL is top at the moment with 10/10. These guys scored a 2.Every part of the main dish ( Beef) was poor.Meat : 2 large Sirloin Slices. Very Overcooked. So Tough. No seasoning or not nearly enough. Served with all the fat and gristle ( trimmed off at HOTL). Hard to eat.Veg. Carrots / Snips undercooked. Pots not Crispy. York pudd soggy and cold ( obviously batch cooked a long time before serving).Green Cabbage. Boiled and tasteless. (HOTL braised spicy red cabbage - amazing).Gravy ( this was the worst ) - just a thin watery brown tasteless fluid. Gravy makes a Sunday Roast…We were served our meals and then was left with no condiments on the table and none offered…we had to wait till we saw a server and had to wave frantically…So all in all very amateurish - it looks from the outside whoever is organising / cooking / expediting the Sunday Roast offer just doesn’t have the required skills or knowledge.And worse the management team are allowing these poor plates of food to be served to customers. Way way off the mark guys.May I suggest a visit to Heron on the Lake and see what a great plate Sunday Roast looks and tastes like.

Came in for a nice meal, the food was good but the only reason I'm giving the place a poor review is the fact that, when going inside to use the toilet, there was a table just full of dirty plates and half eaten food which frankly I find disgusting and lazy and if that's their work ethic then I won't be coming back

Took the dogs for a long walk across the army ranges on Sunday and decided afterwards to see if they could squeeze us in for lunch. We hadn’t booked and it was a sunny day so we knew it might be tricky. However, they happily accommodated us. Never been before but wow what a great find. Really buzzing, happy, chilled atmosphere. No barked orders or stupid rules thrown at you.Lots of comfortable well arranged outdoor seating. Very busy but calm and organised and the staff were excellent. Super polite, friendly and very efficient.We had the roast beef sharing platter. It was superb. Very reasonably priced and totally delicious - we were too full for dessert but will definitely be going back again soon. Highly recommended

My partner and I were thrilled to see a pub near us offering takeaway during these times. Unfortunately the food was simply terrible. I ordered a mushroom risotto and it was the most bland dish I have ever tasted. No seasoning whatsoever, I couldn’t eat it. My partner then rang them and they offered a replacement meal which he went to pick up. I opted for the fish and chips... big mistake. Same story, no seasoning on the fish. Bland horrible food. They did however manage to add seasoning to the chips.... too much. We couldn’t eat them as they were so salty they were inedible! I will definitely not be giving my custom to this place again. Such a shame.

My partner and I did the Valentines Day 3 course takeaway box for cooking at home and it was absolutely sensational! Instructions were really easy to follow and every course was just fantastic - special highlight for us was the prawns in the chilli and garlic sauce! Would definitely have again, and will be ordering takeaway from The Foresters again for another lockdown date night! Thank you Inga & Team!

Walked here for lunch with friends. Very welcoming staff, didn’t mind our muddy boots or the dog. Food was excellent and really good service. Definitely have adapted to the current restrictions and managing to still provide an excellent service. Will go again when we get out of lockdown

What a terrible meal - and even worse was the choice of food in what is supposed to be a quality venue....Here are some sample offers from the sparse and unimaginative evening menu: sausage and mash; cod and chips, double steakburger....and so on. You'd get all that and of better quality at Wetherspoons.We looked at the lunch menu for something we actually wanted to eat and one offer caught the eyes of all three of us - Smoked Chicken Burrito. Oh dear- it was disgusting and tasteless. How do you manage to make a chicken burrito flavourless? Takes real skill- or the lack thereof.The alleged ingredients were smoked cheddar, sour cream, sweetcorn and salsa, none of which was tasted by any of us.Salsa? Tasteless? We had never had such a dish tasting as bad. Yuck.We passed on the deserts and went home with our son to get a good desert and coffee.As well as the so-called main meal we had two soft drinks and a glass of wine between the three of us.The restaurant's own meal deal was in place so we paid 40.57 for this poor excuse for food.I exempt the waiting staff from my criticisms as they were excellent and attentive throughout. Shame what they had to serve up....

I have great memories of delicious meals and flavoursome gins with my brother on our occasional catch-ups at the Foresters.However, since Covid has changed things, they have reduced the menu to the most basic pub choices (not their fault I know) but worse than that, the steak I had was tough and chew, the chips flavourless and the choc brownie portion stingey.The lively atmosphere is gone and the spaced out layout and lack of features just sucks out all the life from the place. Sorry, Foresters, we won't be back.

Took advantage of chancellor deal here, lovely outside seating and excellent menu choice. Food prompt delivery first course, although dessert took longer, probably as very busy.

We went for a birthday dinner and the service was perfect. The meal was excellent as ever. The staff were wonderful and we could not fault the meal. The ribs were a very big hit as always. Highly recommended.

We haven’t been out much recently, so to have such a nice meal meal on Sunday was a treat. The starters of the foresters I’ve always been excellent eg mini sausages, dumplings, prawns all first class. Great roast of Pork belly, beef and steak.....dog friendly too. Really great service ...well done guys.

Well so disappointed tonight, my daughter booked a table 2 weeks ago as it was my birthday, we got there at 6.15 pm waited a hour for starters then at least half an hour for main , told it was because we had starters , but we heard them say no more walk ins , so all the food was going outside to the walk ins, I loved this place the food was mediocre and just hot enough , our bill was £78 After the discount of £30 so not Cheap , then they had the cheek to put service charge! They could not have cared less

We had gone here a few times over lockdown and had lovely takeaway burgers. Unfortunately when we went today we had a very different experience. They have changed the burgers and they are no longer nice, not the quality I would expect in a restaurant and especially not for £16. The burger patty has drastically decreased, seemed like something from a burger van. The burger was previously a really juicy thick patty and it has been changed it for two thin patties that don’t taste nice. Chips were undercooked at the bottom and the service was quite slow. If it had not have been 50% off for ‘eat out to help out’ we would not have paid.

I've been a few times before and since lockdown. It's a nice pub to walk to, and they are taking their Covid responsibilities seriously. The staff are all pleasant and helpful, the building is spotless and comfortable, and the garden is large, pretty and shady. The drinks are good and I had a great Sunday carvery roast.It pains me to say it, but the rest of the food really isn't very good at all. Menu is unimaginative, there's a lot of deep-frying, and freshness is a few strands of salad. It doesn't have to be great, but it has to better than this.

Veg burger tasted deep fried and the chips tasted like they weren't cooked in clean oil. An educated guess would say the chips and veg burger we cooked in the same oil as meat and fish, would highly not recommend the Foresters if you're on a plant based diet!!!

Went to the excellent foresters with my family to have an evening meal. There was a mistake made with our order. So why five stars? I always think it’s not whether a mistake is made but how they react to it. We had a personal apology from the owner and regular check back and did not charge us. The food when it came was great quality. We will certainly go back. Fully recommended!

Beautiful garden surrounded by woods - well spaced tables (so much space!) - felt very safe (we were a little reluctant to visit Pubs at this time). Table service, and payment at the end. We ordered bar snacks to share - beer and other drinks great (Hogsback, Guest Ale, excellent cider, nice ce wine choices). Bar staff friendly and helpful - with a busy manager all over the place (in a nice way!) making sure everything ran smoothly. The staff couldn’t do enough for us. Highly recommended.

We decided to go to the Foresters Pub yesterday evening for a drink. We sat in the garden and COVID - wise all fine. Nice environment. - No Guinness or a similar dark beer like Murphy’s - very surprising!?- Ordered some fries( £3.25) which were not good at all.Very greasy! - The bill for 4 x Estrellas and 2 x Pints of TEA was £32.05 which I suppose is the going rate these days- They added on a 10% service charge which ok it was highlighted on the bill but we were not told verbally so we didn’t notice it until later... service charge? What for? Bringing our drinks to us? Are they kidding!!! - what about the VAT ? Guess we need to try some other pubs....

Very disappointing dinner, sadly the food tasted bland and unappetising. It’s over priced from what is essentially a ‘Harvester dish’. That said, the service was really good. We would go back...just not for food!

It's been a while since I visited The Foresters - lockdown aside, I was probably last there in November. I had got bored of the same old menu - I was vegetarian then and now I'm vegan, so I couldn't get excited by eating the same thing every time.I was delighted there is a new menu with a vegan salad (which for those who are not vegan it is possible to add to) which was perfect on a beautiful hot day in the lovely pub garden. Yes please to more of that - and other menu options - and we'll keep coming back. Thank you.

Always a 5/5 here! Have taken my colleagues here for xmas lunch, my in laws, my parents, my friends, my husband, even my dogs! This place is literally perfect for any occasion and when they do pie week OMG!!!! Have the mintedLamb shank pie - it’s out of this world! Love it here with its open modern:industrial chic look inside - honestly its a tucked away gem!!!!

Having moved to Church Crookham in August 2019 we were advised to try being disabled was really made welcome ie where we sat we took our cocker spaniel and the 2 ladies made a fuss and all. Dogs are given treats .service very good same with selection of beers and specials on the board this pub has never after some 15 visits let us down ROLL ON NEXT VISIT.

We enjoyed a relaxed Sunday carvery lunch with drinks 4 adults and 3 dogs. We had reserved a table in the dog friendly part of the pub. The dogs were fussed over given a big bowl of water and some dog biscuits. The excellent carvery meat, veg and trimmings were served from 12 noon. We didn't have puddings but we did have a walk in the countryside accessed from the pub carpark.

Double review as we had a great evening experience as well as brilliant lunch. I was impressed by the service both times both the greeting and table service were first class. We enjoyed Lots of starters, all were excellent by sausages first rate. Ribs were superb , as well as the scallops ...never had a chance to try the deserts !

A very friendly pub serving a good range of real ales and superb food. It has a large garden at the rear and is an ideal place for lunch or evening meals.

Foresters is overpriced .... ordered a burger which, for over £15, would have expected a succulent and tasty homemade burger. Instead got a horrible, cheap and greasy burger that wouldn’t even be seen in McDonalds. To top it all. It came with soggy chips. When the bill came a service charge had been added which I was embarrassed into paying (although the servers were very attentive so they deserve a little bit extra)

Lovely main course but had to wait so long for desert we cancelled payed and left. The lightning at our table was terrible spot light wasn’t in the middle of the table, did tell the waiter but was told nothing could be done.

Met with around twelve friends to celebrate a significant birthday of one of them. Very busy lunchtime but staff err excellent both attentive and friendly. Food was very good .

Had to chance to catch lunch here whilst on a visit to Farnborough Airport. It isn't far from the airfield. We were a group of 9 people and table availability for lunch on a Wednesday at 12:30 was no problem, we had not booked.Service was excellent, provided by Janaki. I ordered the cod and chips and it was very good and not pricey. Delivery of the food was prompt and it was well presented.Pub was very flexible in terms of payment as it allowed us all to pay our bills separately which was helpful. Would definitely recommend this place.

Totally ashamed on Sunday when we took some Australian guests out to lunch to what we had described as a typical English pub for a traditional English Sunday lunch. Two hours into the lunch and a very snotty manageress presented us with an unrequested bill, as we had not finished eating, saying that we had overrun our allotted time and we had to leave! Disgraceful service. Well done Foresters, you made me ashamed to be English.

We booked a table for six of us in this lovely pub. We have been many times before over the years and enjoyed the whole experience. This time however was a little disappointing. The food was not quite as good as we expected, Fillet Steak came well done! Instead of requested Med to Rare. Not sure if there have been any changes to Staff or ownership or whether we were just unlucky on this busy day. We will return again though, its a nice venue.

My wife and I had been Christmas shopping on Thurs 19 Dec. It was pouring with rain at 2pm and we stopped off here for a lunch and drink. The car park was very full but we went in anyway. OMG the place was heaving and had such a brilliant Christmassy atmosphere. We asked for a table for two but were told unless we had booked they couldn’t take anymore food orders. Oh well we had a drink at the bar and stood there looking around and saw so many delicious looking meals being brought out. They really did look terrific and we both regretted not booking up in advance. Having said that I think the restaurant would have been booked up even then as people were having Christmas parties etc. Serves at the bar was very good as was the drinks. We will certainly come back here another time when hopefully we can book in advance and it’s not so busy.

If you ask my 90-year-old mother about the Foresters, she will just say "the food is always good" and she's right. Pubs where the food is prepared from scratch, are rare and the Foresters is a great example. That, coupled with the good beer, great service, great coffee and the country pub welcome for dogs in the bar make this a must visit pub if you are in the area.
