Met up at The Yurt for lunch with friends. Absolutely perfect in every way. Polite, friendly staff, wonderful food and very reasonably priced. We were the last table to leave but were under no pressure to as we were aware of the closing time. I can’t wait for the next visit.

Sorry, how much? A BLT, a piece of cake and a can of drink for £17.50 and that’s with a 10% discount for takeaway. Can’t say I was surprised when the staff were saying it’s not very busy. I guess I should have looked at the menu before I ordered so only myself to blame.

It was an impromptu visit on a cold Friday night...a roaring fire and warm welcome as we entered the pub and they quickly found us a table...not full, but busy. We ordered T-bone steak and a burger, both were beautifully cooked, tasty meat and served with excellent chips and trimmings . Very relaxed casual cosy dining. It was exactly what we were looking for. We will go back as there were some lovely looking dishes on the menu and no pretensions. Not cheap but good value.

Today we had the best lunch out we have had for a long time! Lovely coffee, moist and delicious cakes and pastries, scrambled egg on sourdough with avocado ( and they were happy to customise with halloumi!) and coronation chicken sandwich which came with crisps and a lot more than a salad garnish- absolutely fantastic food! We didn’t know this place existed but thoroughly recommend and we will definitely be back! ( They also do take aways!)

Popped in for some lunch while in Banbury, having never visited before. The staff were lovely and chatty and the baguettes had just finished cooking as we arrived! Good selection of fillings, all very tasty and well priced! Would 10/10 recommend, and I will definitely be visiting again.

My husband, daughter and I were visiting friends for a week in Shipston and this place became our second home. The building is really lovely- traditional and with a very pretty bar which is really cozy... perfect for dogs, kids and anyone wanting a good chat and a great pint (fab selection of ales and lagers). We loved the sofa in the corner for playing cards. I imagine it's super lovely when the fire is lit in winter. It's the garden that we loved most though.. there's a natural wig wam tree thing with kids stuff in so perfect for little ones. Lots of tables with an uninterrupted view of the rolling hills. They don't 'do' food but have a wood fired pizza oven that comes once every month and it was amazing! I think they have a similar thing with local fish and chips too. We were also there on 'sharing night' when the locals all bring in stuff like cheese and home made bread to share on the bar. All in all, this was a fantastic pub with great staff, a beautiful garden and a really charming, cozy bar. We will be back!

I've just had the most amazing roast this afternoon at the Nightingale. Huge portion and so tasty!! And fantastic value for money ! Kieran and the whole team there are so welcoming and friendly. My only regret?...... not having enough room for a dessert!

Colin, the new landlord is doing a brilliant job of making the pub a good, clean, family venue. Drinks are a reasonable price and although there is no food available, there is a bbq van next to the pub and the Chinese opposite. Who knows perhaps in the future we may be able to get a bite to eat. He makes children welcome as well. Being a local. Colin is (in my opinion) the perfect person to turn a once bad news pub into a place the locals can be proud of.
