Sorry, how much? A BLT, a piece of cake and a can of drink for £17.50 and that’s with a 10% discount for takeaway. Can’t say I was surprised when the staff were saying it’s not very busy. I guess I should have looked at the menu before I ordered so only myself to blame.

A surprisingly excellent cafe ! We enjoyed the best bowl of soup with warm French stick. Thai carrot soup, creamy and imaginative with a hint of chilli. Beautifully presented , generous portion and very delicious and warming. Menu is all very tempting, large jacket potatoes with unusual fillings, Mediterranean vegetable tart and salad and delicious looking toasted sandwiches wraps. Steak sandwich looked excellent too. Don’t mention the cakes ! Didn’t try but they looked delish. Worth going to this enjoyable antiques centre just for the food. Staff really friendly and helpful, lovely service, nice cutlery and surroundings. Can’t wait to go again.

Firstly, I'd say the food was comensurate, with the prices, ie high prices with good quality food. The salad was a bit over-oiled ! CUSTOMER SERVICE Waitress (clerk 01) - "that's £17.....cash or card?" Customer - "please?" Waitress - "yea !" Customer - "you mean £17 please?" Waitress - "yea" Customer - "Are you going to say £17 please?" Waitress - "yea - cash or card?" Gave £20 note....... Waitress - "£3 change" Customer - "Thankyou ?" Waitress - "Yea" Customer - "You didn't say 'please' or 'thankyou' during the entire transaction ? Waitress - "oh" Waitress - "have a nice day SIR" Customer - "no need to be facitious, I only asked why you never say 'please' or 'thankyou' " Waitress - rolled eyes & carried on polishing spoons. The problem is, that no matter haw good the food is; if the customer experience is disrespectful, then they'll never reach the next level. They tend to forget, that the customer is number 1 !! No customers = no business / no job / no wages Customer service needs improvement, as an absolute MINIMUM, a 'plesse' & 'thank you' would go a long way.

Arrived with a group of 10 friends on a bike wanting to stop for a coffee to be greeted at in the Car Park by a lady who said that we could not park our bikes up against her wall as it is blocking the car park. She then intimated that as we would not be buying any antiques we were not welcome in the Cafe and she suggested that we went to the Milk Shed down the road. Guess what, we took her advice and went to the Milk Shed. You know what they say about 1st impressions I would not go back here for a coffee nor would I consider going back to buy any Antiques. Out of the group of 11 what is to say that if we enjoyed the coffee we might have a walk around and come back later with the car ... How very short sighted.

Friends invited us to join them to 'check out' this stylish venue. We were dropped off at the main door and, though we saw a sign for a car park at the rear, the driver discovered that, like the front one, the rear car park waa full. A spot was found on a nearby roadside.Meanwhile, inside, the three passengers' table search was a little challenging too. The venue is clearly very popular so, if time is of the essence, avoid visiting during peak times!Café staff were accommodating and courteous. The lunch wraps and salad were tasty and there were plenty of lovely items on the walls of the café for those eager to start the browsing/shopping part of the outing. After lunch, we enjoyed a leisurely look/walk around the antique, vintage, and interiors items attractively displayed around. The nonagenarian in our group managed the walk around the slightly uneven flooring. The washroom facilities (toilets/WC) were easily accessible and in good order with a delightfully zesty liquid soap!We spent about 2-3 hours there. It is conveniently located 5 minutes or so from junctions 9 and 10 of the M40.I recommend you visit The Old Flight House with enough time to park, lunch, browse and buy!

The cafe is a nice addition to the Bicester area, and is a little quieter than other nearby cafes. A good place for coffee and cake - cakes are a little average, but are fresh and have plenty of gluten-free options. The service can be very slow depending on the staff. It is frustrating that, despite being a small cafe, the staff put 'reserved' signs on the tables furthest from the counter after lunch to stop people sitting there. While we were in the cafe some new customers asked what time they were reserved for, and were actually turned away because the staff would not open those tables (rest of the cafe was full).

Came here as a recommendation from a friend. We found the car park easily (one behind and one in front) using the postcode from the website. The place is clean, much bigger than expected and full of antiques! Loads to look at, like walking through a museum. We didn’t purchase anything but saw a great range from clothes, lamps, old suitcases, sport memorabilia and jewellery. The cafe itself was large and was no problem finding a table. Tea, latte and 2 slices of cake was £11.50. A little over priced but cake was yummy. Free WiFi in the cafe. Loads of food on menu with gluten free options too. Vegetarians would be fine to eat here too. Overall a nice place to go out for the morning.

Stopped at The Flight House at the end of a long drive home looking for lunch at 2.00pm on a Sunday. The cafe isn’t set up to do a Sunday roast but we both chose burgers, I went for the chilli burger option. We did have to wait a little but there is a whole antiques centre to browse while waiting so that’s not really a problem. The food was very nicely cooked, well presented and plentiful. The chilli burger was at the spicy end of my pallete but better that than being bland. The chips were perfect and my salad was dressed with a tasty vinaigrette. Thoroughly enjoyed the visit.

Called here with family for a light bite and having a food intolerance I usually find very little to eat, but this café provided a delicious lunch - one and a half rounds of gluten free bread filled with bacon, brie and cranberry with chunky chips which were really tasty. A cheese scone and an apple cake eaten by my companions were equally delicious. There were lots of interesting specials on the board which I might be tempted to try on a return visit. However - the tea consisted of a large wide topped bowl cup with a tea bag in the hot water - not what I was expecting, with a little dish on which to deposit the used tea bag. I would have preferred a pot and a proper tea cup not a cappuccino coffee cup as the tea quickly went cold.

Such a shame. We came for an Afternoon Tea, the menu does state 'Afternoon Tea' but when trying to order one we discovered they don't actually do it - only cream tea and individual items. The kind waitress said she'd see if there was anything they could put together for us, as she emerged from the kitchen (with the answer being 'No, Sorry.') Kitchen staff loudly declared 'We're not the Grand Cafe!!' It was evidently aimed at us. We were in shock, the waitress was mortified and apologised profusely, returning to the kitchen to let him know we'd heard him. Considering the menu boasts of an 'Afternoon Tea' section I don't think it's a ridiculous request to inquire if they actually do one. His rudeness was totally uncalled for.Following that my food was forgotten - I had to chase it up after my friends had finished, the staff couldn't recall what I'd ordered. Then a rather burnt toastie was finally brought to me. Very true it's 'Not the Grand Cafe' as he couldn't even make a toastie without burning it. Very disappointing as it's a beautiful venue, was just such a poor experience here.

During our recent visit, the food arrived quickly and was fresh and tasty providing good value for money. BUT the general hygiene of the surroundings within the cafe is worrying and certainly doesn't appear to match the five star hygiene rating being displayed on the notice board. The floors are dirty and look like they haven't been washed in a long time and the tables have failed to be regularly cleared and wiped. I can't help but think the owner who regularly peruse the flight centre observing the calibre of customers ought to give the cafe a much needed deep clean!

We were recommended this place and it is well worth a visit for not only do they serve delicious light lunches, but also cakes and scones. There is also the opportunity to explore the Aladdin 's cave of antiques and collectables, well set out and keenly priced. The downside for me was that when we ordered a pot of tea for two, the tea arrived in two cups filled with hot water and a teabag of good quality. However, it would have been so much better if the teabag had been in a small teapot particularly as £1.75 seemed a bit over the top for a cup of tea. Perhaps I am being a little picky, but it did spoil the experience for me. My husband raved about the warm scones with clotted cream

I've waited 20 hours to leave this review so that it was considered and not just an over-reaction. Yesterday (16.6.16) I took my partner and daughter for lunch at the Cafe at the Old Flight House, on the menu was an Haloumi Salad with PINE NUTS, my daughter has a sever allergy to peanuts but can eat other nuts safely, including pine nuts so that was ordered. When the salad was presented it was covered in nuts - but DEFINITELY not Pine Nuts..when the waiter returned with our other dishes we questioned him as to whether these were pine nuts (being fairly sure they weren't) but were told "Yes, they are pine nuts", I asked him to be 100% certain and he said he'd ask the 'chef' - sure enough he came back and said "No they were substituted - would you like another one"This could have been a VERY serious issue if none of us had been paying attention and would have resulted in possible hospitalization, luckily it didn't.Other than an apology from the waiter, who then really added insult to injury by saying, and I quote "Of course we can't guarantee that our dishes don't contain nuts" although there was NOTHING to state that clearly my reply was to suggest, quite firmly that the menue Specials Board should NOT have shown pine nuts in the first place and that it should be immediately removed.I was extremely disappointed that not a single senior member of staff came to see us (and I know for a fact that at least one of the owners of the Old Flight House was there because I saw them) to apologize. This is a SERIOUS failing and I would urge anyone visiting this cafe to do so with extreme caution. Because of this incident and that fact that other than a waiter, who had clearly been dispatched to try and appease me, made an apology we will NOT be returning here again - and I am local so may well have done. The management need to get a grip on this.

I spent some time browsing the different retail nooks and crannies and enjoyed a lovely lunch in the cafe. I regularly come with friends to wander round the antiques and stop for lunch. I always seem to have spinach salad with goats cheese which is esquisite but lots of other good choices. Service is good and great venue. I highly recommend it

We visited for breakfast. The cafe opens at 1000 and we were there by 1030. It was unfortunate that it had been a very cold night and there were heaters but it was still very cold. We were not inclined to remove coats and scarves. There are 3 choices for breakfast, bacon sandwich/roll, bacon & egg sandwich/roll and ham,egg & chips. However there is a reasonable choice of food on the rest of the menu which was available if we wished. We had a bacon sandwich and a bacon roll. Both okay and served quickly, in a friendly manner. Also had English Breakfast tea. We felt that £1.75 for a teabag in a cup with hot water was overpriced. We had a second cup each, therefore £7.00 for 4 teabags - Ouch. Why not serve tea in a pot? More water, same teabag, customer getting 2 cups and a value for money feeling.Afterwards we wandered around the antique units. A lovely place to browse.

I went here after reading a review in the Oxford Mail on how they had just got a new chef and were specialising in freshly cooked food. We've been quite a few times now for lunch. The food and service are excellent and the restaurant is spotless. It's a great setting in the antiques shop too and good for a bit of browsing of the antiques afterwards. But to be honest, we go because of the high quality food. Car park is a bit small at the front but always find a space at the back on the road quite easily.

Thoroughly enjoyed my lunch with a friend here recently. The menu is interesting and the daily specials board offers a range of tempting dishes. Everything is made from scratch, freshly in their kitchen. Good quality juices, teas and coffees are on offer. The service is excellent and the cafe is very clean. A browse in the antique centre after is a must!

We went there for lunch when visiting friends in Bicester. The outside is very unprepossessing, and the car park was full. We were able to park in the street, but the area was quite crowded. Inside, however, is lovely. The cafe is well laid out and attractive and there is more than one area with tables. You go to the counter to order and pay, and then food is brought to you. We had to clear a table to sit down, which is always a black mark in my book.We decided on salmon from the specials board. It was 1 o'clock and the salmon had run out. We then decided on the tart from the main menu, but that had run out too. In the end we both had the stuffed chicken breast, also from the specials board. It was very nice, well cooked, and a generous portion, so no complaints with the food, but as the cafe wasn't full we were quite surprised at how much had already run out.The prices are about average for a cafe of this type, perhaps slightly cheaper than some of the places we go to.After we had eaten we went to look at the 'antiques'. It is an amazing collection, attractively displayed in a number of areas. Every time we thought we had seen everything we found another area. We thoroughly enjoyed browsing, but didn't buy anything. If we lived locally this would definitely be on our list of places to go for lunch.

This is a great place to eat and drink............good value, interesting and I would confirm all the postive points. I had the chicken special......delicious.You will have to take your own newspaper though but there are hundreds of home magazines to look through. This is "no kids" place not like the Cow Shed close by which gets overrun especially in school holidays.

I took my mum for lunch here and was pleased that there is ample parking around the back as she's not too steady on her feet. We spent a while wandering around the lovely antiques and gifts before settling down at a table. It was clearly very popular and busy but the service was first class and very friendly. We both had lovely toasted sandwiches but I kind of wished I had just gone straight for a slice of one of the delicious looking cakes on display. A treasure of a find. Will be back soon!

Tucked away in the Oxfordshire countryside, I wouldn't go just for the cafe and probably wouldn't go just for the amazing stock of vintage and antique objects. The mixture of the two was just perfect though. We had coffee, then a good look round before going back to the cafe for a delicious lunch. Looking forward to visiting again!

Standard statement regarding this and all my reviews: I struggle with the Trip Advisor rating system because it does not provide a particularly granular method or any useful context for restaurant reviews (for example a 5 star review for a burger joint is very different to a 5 star review for a Michelin Starred establishment). In the context of a cafe attached to an antiques centre in rural Oxfordshire my view is as follows:We usually go to The Milk Shed (which is excellent too BTW) when in the area but my wife had heard about this place and we decided to give it a try.Interesting atmosphere due to the fact that the Cafe is part of an antiques centre. Unobtrusive music, friendly staff and a varied menu with decent daily socials combine to make this an excellent experience.Standout dishes were the chicken skewers with chilli, lime and oriental slaw, a suburb spinach bacon and avocado salad and a brilliant Cajun chicken.Chunky chips were a little greasy but skinny fries were sublime!Gives The Milk Shed a run for its money - well worth a visit.

Sat amongst antiques, there is that shabby chic feel to this cafe. The food and drink is good, as is the service. The surroundings are pleasant and this combined with the cafe works well. It is certainly on my list of places worth stopping off for.

We've visited on a number of occasions in the past, and found good food in an interesting setting - but a few weeks ago I took a friend there for breakfast and found all had changed. The staff were now dressed in black and the food was simply dreadful. This, I assume, is why there have been no cafe reviews for the last four weeks or so.The 'bacon roll' was exactly that - a budget bread roll, buttered with two pieces of cheap bacon on top on a small plate - for £3.55. The tea was delivered with the tea bag still floating around in relatively hot water and again not of great quality (another £2). My friend had opted for a bacon and egg sandwich - served with cheap bread, and the addition of a poorly cooked clearly budget egg. Absolutely the worst breakfast wither of us had ever had - and I'm including student cooking from my past, using out of date Kwik-Save ingredients. As we sat and tried to make the best of a bad breakfast, a lady with no manners barked orders to the staff around us - treating each of them like servants, and clearly unaware of how badly her behaviour was reflecting on the establishment.Breakfast bill of £13 - ingredients less than £1, rude manager. (Although lovely polite staff clearly aware of the problems). Our advice would be head over to the Milk Shed (although not open on a Monday sadly) - or really do not bother.

Lovely cafe serving what appeared to be 'home prepared' and 'home cooked' food. Beautiful setting ... you'd never think you were just off a busy main road. Lots of parking. You walk in thru some of the antiques which are all beautifully displayed. There are lots of tables inside - amongst the antiques, and more in the garden outside. There is a good basic menu with a specials board - I chose the grilled halloumi, fennel and pomegramate salad - lovely. One friend had the goats cheese and avocado salad which she really enjoyed, and the other a tuna sandwich - which she thought was a bit lacking in texture. Will definitely go back!

A cafe in an antiques centre???? Usually dismal greasy spoon experience but this one is the exception to the rule! Really enjoyed my meal and there were several things I would like to have tried. My husband had boring old ham, egg and chips, all of which looked so good when it arrived I nearly wished I had ordered it too, but when I tasted my lovely (large) salad of goats cheese, spinach and walnuts, I was quite happy with my choice, after all.We were surprised at how busy it was as it is rather off the beaten track - obviously it is well known to those in the area.

Super visit to a really friendly and modern, Vintage and Antique Centre. To cap it all, a really nice cafe/restaurant that caters for all tastes. We had one of the specials and one meal from the menu. Both were excellent and the extra portion of fries were great. I can strongly recommend the cakes, if you have room!! Try the lemon drizzle, it is addictive.

Met up with a friend and this place is half way for us both, I was not sure what to expect being in an Antique Centre, but I wasnt dissappointed, they offered a small but pleasant menu, from sandwichs, jacket potatoes, breakfast and hot meals. The service was prompt and the prices reasonable. That coupled with a pleasant seating area it made for a nice visit.

We went to The Old Flight House to look at antique furniture and furnishings for our imminent kitchen makeover and I was very pleasantly surprised to find not just any old café to refresh the clients, but a really good and appealing café/restaurant.My wife had an excellent smoked salmon & prawn 'basket', while I chose a well spiced home-made chilli-burger with French fries. Both included an appealing and well dressed salad. All served in attractive surroundings in the heart of the extensive and eclectic showrooms. Well done !

In my last review I said that it was best to go to the Centre when you are hungry as the cafe was the best thing about the place, however, having revisited today I should like to take that back. I had a meal which was adequate, nothing special, and then went back later for coffee and cake. The cake was very dry and appeared a few days old, I couldn't eat it and when there was nobody in earshot I asked the waitress how old the cake was and told her that I couldn't eat it. She just laughed, so on my way out I told the owner that I was disappointed with the attitude, and the cake, and she just told me that the cake was delivered this morning and that the waitress was 'normally' very helpful. It was left at that, without offering to refund the cake, because obviously it was just me being difficult! I had very black looks from the owner's companion too, a very unpleasant experience. Needless to say, the only thing in the Antiques Centre that I might have wanted to buy was not for sale, as reported in my last review.

My husband, daughter and I were visiting friends for a week in Shipston and this place became our second home. The building is really lovely- traditional and with a very pretty bar which is really cozy... perfect for dogs, kids and anyone wanting a good chat and a great pint (fab selection of ales and lagers). We loved the sofa in the corner for playing cards. I imagine it's super lovely when the fire is lit in winter. It's the garden that we loved most though.. there's a natural wig wam tree thing with kids stuff in so perfect for little ones. Lots of tables with an uninterrupted view of the rolling hills. They don't 'do' food but have a wood fired pizza oven that comes once every month and it was amazing! I think they have a similar thing with local fish and chips too. We were also there on 'sharing night' when the locals all bring in stuff like cheese and home made bread to share on the bar. All in all, this was a fantastic pub with great staff, a beautiful garden and a really charming, cozy bar. We will be back!
