Great pub with food and drink menu a step above the usual. Well looked after with nice decor and ambience. We have visited before and this time took family for a meal on the terrace in the sun. All were very complimentary of the food and service.

I was taken to lunch here by my daughter. I can honestly say, I have rarely had such delicious food in a pub. It really was exceptional. We decided to go for several starters as we were finding it hard to make a choice - I had the parsnip soup which quite frankly was the best parsnip soup I have ever had. My daughter had the prawns which were fabulous and we then shared a couple of the dips - babaganoush and muhammara which neither of us had come across before but both just exploded with flavour. We also had the fish terrine. Without doubt a 10/10. Highly recommend.

Overpriced and over cooked Tight starter portion and that 1 scallop NOT"scallops"was overdone And the roast wasn't much improvement Really disappointing for my guests too Shame as the setting is good just not any value for money and the atmosphere wasn't to warm for a quiet Sunday evening

Popped in for an impromptu evening meal with my dad, his wife to be and Maggie (the puppy 🙂) I had the buffalo chicken burger and the other two had the ceaser salad. Both dished were sublime, couldn't fault them if we tried. We will always be coming back, thats a guarantee! Food and drink well priced, proven by the ever returning customers.

Had a dinner arranged with friends and I decided to stay the night and have a few drinks without messing around with taxis. The room was cosy on a chilly, damp March night and the bed was soft and very comfortable. The food, service and drinks were exceptional and the interior decor matches the exterior beauty of the building. I look forward to returning.

What a nice pub! We went to this pub on the recommendation of our host. Free parking behind the pub. Good atmosphere. Good quality wine. And fish & chips. Excellent service! Four stars, big Earned! Tip for the chef: before frying the fish - let the oil become a little hotter. Then there is less fat in the food and it saves a lot of stomach cramps for people with a sick stomach like me.

Impromptu early evening get together with our new neighbours almost thwarted by being unaware of ‘locals night’. Place fully booked out inside for their first Thursday of every month, great value menu. Offered outside dining as only option and luckily weather just good enough. Lovely garden tables nonetheless. Told supplier had let them down and only the regular menu steak options and limited other available for walk-ins. No problemo! Two rib-eyes and a flat iron later, plus I can’t remember the fourth choice, and we were extremely well fed, well watered and very happy with our lot. Great service as always.

What a find. We are both real foodies but rarely add reviews - good or bad. But today’s roasts were frankly fantastic and I wished to pop a note of recognition. The pork belly was so tender and tasty as was the lamb shoulder succulent. Loads of accompaniments too. Loved the red cabbage. Randomly fell on The White Horse Inn as we were stating in Lower Heyford but glad we came across it.

Excellent historic 'Oldy World' rural Inn complete with low beamed ceilings and log fires. We had booked the small double room which was adequate with comfy bed (rooms are external to main building). Evening meal and breakfast was first class and staff were polite and very helpful.

My husband, daughter and I were visiting friends for a week in Shipston and this place became our second home. The building is really lovely- traditional and with a very pretty bar which is really cozy... perfect for dogs, kids and anyone wanting a good chat and a great pint (fab selection of ales and lagers). We loved the sofa in the corner for playing cards. I imagine it's super lovely when the fire is lit in winter. It's the garden that we loved most though.. there's a natural wig wam tree thing with kids stuff in so perfect for little ones. Lots of tables with an uninterrupted view of the rolling hills. They don't 'do' food but have a wood fired pizza oven that comes once every month and it was amazing! I think they have a similar thing with local fish and chips too. We were also there on 'sharing night' when the locals all bring in stuff like cheese and home made bread to share on the bar. All in all, this was a fantastic pub with great staff, a beautiful garden and a really charming, cozy bar. We will be back!

Really disappointing and a hard review to write we have been using this chip shop for approximately 30 years. Always been the best in area The owner we regard as a friend. He decided in the last year to retire not sure if the new people of the last 6 months to a year are managers or new owners but it has gone down hill in quality and service. Young staff seem clueless We have always had chip night weekly its usually a big order for the family 1 had cod and chips this was pretty non descript, 2 wanted chicken meat and chips the meat at a push was shown to the chips it did not exist really other than a dusting in one corner. The mini fish in the lunch box barely there either and mainly batter. No salt and vinegar although we were asked if we wanted it and said yes please! Sadly we are now looking for a new chip shop and are devastated. such a shame to see somewhere with such a good history have its reputation spoiled and slowly destroyed while it start serving rubbish. After seeing tthe love and hard work that was put into the place its very sad

Very easy to book a table online and a good website for checking out menu’s etc. We had a warm welcome and the service at both the bar and for our meals was very friendly and efficient. Sadly our lunches didn’t match the excellent service. In particular the chilli was very underwhelming both in the portion size and flavour and unfortunately the fish and chips and the scampi dishes were both of average/ poor quality produce.

Halloween night , i was out and my phone had died , i went to the closest public place which was this pub . I politly asked if they had an iphone charger they said yes and i asked if i could charge my phone a little bit to get hold of someone they said no and laughed. My opinion that is rude and unsafe because it was on halloween night

Pre booked in advance the Christmas dinner, unfortunately,it did not live up to anything I was expecting. The food was not hot,and grossly overpriced, very disappointing as the staff were pleasant enough. Will not be going back there for food again,I suggest you do not go there, left deflated .Ruined my Christmas with my daughter...Shame,go elsewhere in future.
