Loved this pub, amazing food and good people. There are only two pubs here and we felt safe there as we do not go out in Burnham town as it’s too dangerous. So yes we where all sad when they shut down, to only sell it and now are applying to change it into a place of religious practice but there are no locals here that practice religion so it’s a bit odd. Anyways we will miss you Jolly Woodman.

We were really impressed with this cosy, friendly little village pub. A very elegant, well-spoken young lady showed us to our table and we all enjoyed a really good meal. The Rebellion ale was every bit as good as I remember it and the steak and kidney pie couldn't have been better. Finally, the bill was perfectly reasonable. A great evening out.

What a great find perfect for a trip to Rye & Camber - especially as you can take the hound. Dog friendly with a dining room to take the dog in. Great food (huge portions) in the evening and a lovely breakfast to start the day. Comfy room with your own doggie garden. If you like real ale then there is a micro brewery 2 minutes walk away so a livener before settling into dinner. Friendly service and an easy going team. What’s not to like

Popped in one Friday lunchtime as an early Mother’s Day treat. On arrival we were ignored by a lady behind the bar, who then went on to disappear along with a man who was more worried about his dog than customers. There were no menus on the tables, and no staff in sight. Left after about 5minutes, shame as we want to support local but why should you spend money where they don’t want it!! Will not be going back.

Popped in for a drink before getting a train, 4 minutes round the corner. Early so good choice of seating. Saw there was a happy hour sign available for guests from 6-7 pm. Plenty of cocktails being ordered. We just had an IPA and a G&T. Nice friendly place

Met with family in Winchester for a meal. It took a while to find a pub to get booked for 6. We had Sunday lunch today. It was brilliant! And it tasted homemade rather than from the freezer. Between us we had the nut roast, roast beef, lasagna and fish pie. Excellent and generous helping of vegetables and roast potatoes.
