I absolutely love coming to this pub, it’s run flawlessly by Michelle and her team. Vibes are always immaculate and it’s always busy when we go in. We always try to go to Adam’s Thursday karaoke when we can as this is awesome too, literally the highlight of our week. Such a good community here. I just wanted to write a review today because my partner and I have just come back from holiday, and with no food in the house what better way to end a lovely week than a meal at our fave pub? The food was amazing and was prepared by Caitlin, who is always so friendly and brilliant. We really love this team, they’re such a pinnacle to the community.

There a a few pubs in the town, some of which I visit occasionally but, The Birdcage is most definitely my favourite venue by far. With an excellent selection of drinks both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, there is something for everyone here. The beverages are priced fairly for the region and as far as I am aware, it is the only pub in the town that supports CAMRA. Additionally, they operate a loyalty card scheme for cask ale and operate the MiXR App which allows you to earn spendable points when you purchase drinks or food at the bar. The Bar Staff are very professional and courteous to their customers - even the difficult ones. It's an overall friendly experience. I only eat out occasionally but the food I have had in The Birdcage has been excellent and fairly priced compared to other establishments in the town. The Grade II building itself dates back to the 13th century and is steeped in a history that is well worth researching. Overall, Michelle & Adam run a fine establishment and always give the extra ounce to make your experience worthwhile and enjoyable. Whether it's quiz nights, Thursday karaoke or DJ sessions at the end of the week, there is always something of interest happening. Well done to both and all of the excellent staff!

Popped in for a beer with some friends whilst visiting Thame. First pint that was poured was off, which the staff readily agreed - hence two stars not one. Next pint was just awful. All five of us left half our pints (two different beers). We cut our losses and went elsewhere. The pub also needs a jolly good clean. Many better options in Thame.

Bar staff incredibly attentive as well and would like to point out Millie in particular who went above and beyond for us. She took the time to really listen to us and help us decide on the cocktails we wanted despite the bar being absolutely rammed. Lovely evening surrounded by lovely people. Once upon a time, The Birdcage was an upscale pub, with no under 25s permitted and a dress code after 10pm. Today it probably the biggest dive in Thame, especially since the Black Horse received a make-over.The interior is shabby and unappealing and the clientele on my visit were loud, foul-mouthed, with tattoos almost mandatory. It might otherwise have been pleasant sitting in the outside terraceThe Birdcage does have a couple of reasonable beers on tap and Hells Lager from the Camden Town Brewery, which is quite decent albeit pricey. However, it is a far cry from the days of over 200 beers to choose from !I won’t be going back for some time.

The only attraction to this place is the ability to sit outside in a south facing location and watch the world go by. The tables were sticky and dirty and the interior utterly lacks atmosphere. And where are the staff? One person serving a queue of people who were also ordering food off a menu. We must have waited nearly 10 minutes for our drinks. The gents toilet stank abysmally as the urinals did not flush. So sad, this could be a great place.

Returned to the Birdcage after some years absence. When I visited the atmosphere was fairly bleak, maybe it was the loud music, the loud sports screen or the loud clientele, whatever, it's not a place I'm likely to return to in a hurry. The seating plan is such that there are large tables occupied by two or three people, and the strangest size sofas in the rear 'TV' room. I will say the beer was in excellent condition and the staff seemed quite attentive. But the atmosphere . . . . . . . . . .

We found The Birdcage online and were interested in the history of the Pub. We parked in the local car park and walked easily to the restaurant. We found big beautiful wooden tables and cushy plush chairs just to the left of the bar. We reviewed our menus and headed up to the bar to order. The line was only a few people long and moved quickly. We ordered several different pies and sides. I enjoyed a pint or two of the Cloudy Apple cider. The cider was crisp and a little sweet, my favorite cider to date. I ordered the Mothership. My pie of choice was the Heidi it had Goats’ cheese, sweet potato, spinach and red onion. Once it was all piled together and ready for eating i devoured every morsel. The mushy peas were also very good. At our table other enjoyed the Moo and the Moo & Blue. I suggest stopping in and reading up on the believed history of The Birdcage while enjoying a delicious Meat Pie.

As soon as we walked in we were given the most amazing welcome by Nathan. He asked us what we were looking for and when we said 'Offers', he told us what was available and even though we were only staying for the coffee and cake offer, for £4, he made us feel really welcome and let us choose our seats. I have mobility problems and he immediately mentioned the small step going through to the cosy back room. The coffee & cake were wonderful. I had triple tier chocolate fudge cake and my friend had a type of bakewell tart with blueberries- both were delicious and good size portions. The 2 lattes were included in the price and we were really full after that. The pub itself has an amazing history and was clean & attractively decorated and I must mention the mirrors in the Ladies loo- they were wonderful- in keeping with the name of the pub. I visited The Birdcage Inn last week with my partner. It was a Thursday night and rather quiet, but we were greeted with a very friendly welcome from Benjamin - who really couldn't do enough for us!! They had the most amazing selection of gins, so many that I could not choose so Benjamin kindly recommended an Elderflower one for me with Mediterranean tonic. We order the Moo and Blue and Chicken & Leek pie, with Mac'n'Cheese and Swede Carrot mash for sides - all of which were delicious and served quickly!! Benjamin then offered us desserts, and we ended up sharing a brownie which was also lovely! We ordered a coffee - Benjamin asked if we enjoyed it which we did - however as a trainee staff member had made it he offered it to us free of charge which we thought was a very nice touch indeed!! I would highly recommend The BirdCage Inn for a mid-week date night!! The drink selection is great, the pies are tasty and the service was 5***** from Benjamin and the young servers also working!! I recently attended a festival in the South Oxfordshire area, and as I needed to use an ATM, a friend suggested we all visit the historic market town of Thame. Having never been before, I was surprised what a gem of a place it was; full of historical interest. Anyway, as I had to pop to the bank to withdraw some cash, we all decided to have a couple of drinks too. Right next to the bank was this pub that looked like it was straight from The Shambles in York, with its crooked wooden beams, low doors, leaded windows. The name was the Birdcage (odd I thought initially), it turns out that the name allegedly refers to the time in our history when we used to put prisoners in cages and hang them outside official buildings as a punishment. It also turns out that the pub has had a 'colourful' history in many guises since the 14th century. Anyway, I digress... we had drinks in the pub, Graham and John both had beers and myself & 2 other friends shared a bottle of House white wine, which was surprisingly palatable! The only food available was pies, which we thought was disappointing. Non the less, we each ordered a pie with mash and gravy (we were starving). I have to say these were the nicest pies we'd eaten in a very long time! My 2 friends each had Vegan pies which they said were out of this world, I ate a chicken and leek pie which was full of meat and ever so tasty and the 2 'boys' both had a "moo & blue" (gotta love the name), which was beef with blue cheese. The price seemed very reasonable for drinks and food for 5.

Gorgeous historical pub complete with toilet oubliette for all your medieval incarceration needs. Brilliant staff, great music....and the pies! Oh the pies!

Quite simply the best pie I’ve eaten anywhere. The pastry was outstanding in texture and density, the contents delicious. Sided with mash and mushy peas that were of the highest quality when it comes to pub grub. I topped that off with a Timothy Taylor’s recommended by the bar staff that was delightfully satisfying. All that in a building with a remarkable history.

...in super Lage direkt an der Durchgangsstrasse. Drinnen sitzt man urig und draussen kann man (bei schönem Wetter) exzellent beim Bierchen Leute beobachten.

We have always liked the food and service in Harvesters. Always been loyal customers. However, our most recent experience was not great at all. The place was busy, the salad bar was quite empty and the food took a much longer time to arrive which we could excuse as a one-off. But some of the food was not cooked through unfortunately, which believe it or not, again we sort of excused as staff apologised and replaced it. What we cannot overlook however was the menu has changed and unfortunately all the tasty parts of the food have been replaced with hard, tasteless freezer food. Prices have gone up too, which is understandable but they should not have messed with the quality of the food. The chicken, the hash browns were not soft and succulent as before. The nice onion ring was replaced by hard and cold cheese jalapeño rings. Totally different food experience now. We are not going to go back in a hurry, let's just say. Really sad as we did like frequenting it over the last few years.

I had a late lunch in The Red Lion this lunchtime. First time I had been in the pub in 5 years but with new management and hearing great things since the new owners took over I was keen to give it a try. Bar staff were very welcoming to me and my Cavapoo. Lovely friendly atmosphere and spotlessly clean. I ordered a scampi, fries and peas. It was delicious and too much for me to finish it. I will definitely be back soon with the family 👍🏼

We took friends out for lunch on our first visit and although the pub was clean the food was very very disappointing for the price. Will not be going back!
