Had a fantastic day at The Sovereigns music festival, great atmosphere on the day, great fun for all family, bouncy castle, face painting for the grand children and absolutely fabulous music. It's a great community pub, all funds raised this year for Dementia Emma's House, a lot of work gone into organising and so well done. Thanks Sovereigns for a great day, will be looking forward to next year.

I haven't been to The Sovereigns for many years so it was a lovely place to have a catch up over a pint and a meal. The decor is lovely and immaculate. The staff are helpful and friendly. I had the very tasty barbecue chicken, which was delicious. The value for money was a huge surprise! I haven't bought beer for under £4 a pint in a while, and the food was cheaper than most without sacrificing quality.

This is a great local pub and I especially enjoyed Sovsfest 2024! Was a fun family friendly event with great music, which finished at a very reasonable time to be respectful to the neighbours. The staff are always kind and helpful!

Brilliant time on Saturday at Sovs Fest, Great event put on by the pub , the staff worked so hard to raise money for Emma’s House (Dementia) in woking , lots of talented singers and bands entertained us all , activities kept the kids busy, great atmosphere and fun had by all. Love this pub, friendly helpful staff, great food and regular entertainment, fab place for a party 🎉 can’t wait to visit again soon☺️

Fantastic pub, they hold fantastic live events. We attended their fundraising day and had an amazing time. The food was amazing and the staff were very lovely and welcoming. Definitely recommend.

We tried Sovereigns after a theatre trip based and good reviews and we weren't disappointed. There was a good choice on the menu and we tried options from the fixed price menu and found them excellent value for money. The staff were friendly and welcoming and there was a pleasant atmosphere in the busy pub. Service was prompt too.

In my opinion this is the best pub in Woking. Sam & Hannah plus Shaun, Gemma, Laura and Lauren are all excellent. Service is quick and efficient, the pub is always spotlessly clean and there is a welcoming atmosphere whenever you visit. When it's warm and sunny the beer garden is an added attraction.

Came down with a couple of friends for a pint and the pub quiz was on. The gay couple who ran it were hilarious. Really good night.

Went to a baby shower on Saturday. The venue was central, the food was good but what really earned the 5 stars was the level of customer care. We were looked after so well. The team went above and beyond to ensure that the day went well.

Was there for Christmas Dinner , Hannah Sam and staff did us proud , The table was excellently laid out , crackers , napkins , moose , reindeer , bottle of bubbly on table , Food came out hot well plated , All hot and clean plates , I'd mentioned a certain cheese i cannot eat earlier in week, Hannah remembered this and certainly did me proud when cheese board arrived. Cannot fault the meal or time spent in Sovereigns that day in any way

I had Christmas lunch at the sovereigns. The staff lead by Sam were Terrific, the food was absolutely lovely. The atmosphere was very festive. You guys were amazing. Thank you so much for a great day. Welldone x

As everywhere was fully booked we decided to book the Sovereigns for Xmas dinner. The soup for starters was the best part of the meal, still void of flavour though. I ordered a turkey dinner without pork which of course arrived with pork all over it. When the food was returned, the plate was half full, obviously no pork free alternatives. Turkey expectedly dry and tasteless. The vegetables were a colourless over boiled mess. To top the meal off, the desert arrived on the dirtiest plate I've ever received at a restaurant. You could see oily fingerprints all over it. I didn't have high expectations for this meal but the standards were worse then I imagined. The meal came to £300 for 4 of us. Daylight robbery. For anyone looking to book Xmas dinner, don't book here even if it's the last choice you have.

I went to a Christmas market on 30th November which was fantastic they do this for the community l do not no any other pub that does this. They also had live music with a singer called Graham Broad who was amazing, l love this pub the staff are lovely and the atmosphere is lovely as is the food.

I popped in Thursday 14th September with my daughter for a quick drink before she left for university. We had one drink and left. Very disappointed to receive a £100 fine for using their car park.

Dined here before going to see a show at Woking Theatre. We were pleasantly surprised by our visit to the Sovereigns. The service was friendly and efficient. Our meals were served quickly and were very nice. Good value for money.We would return here

Our visit was on a Sunday evening and fortunately for our party it coincided with famous open Mic night at The Sovereigns. Absolutely awesome entertainment, with the various singing and musical talent on show, am sure everyone, like myself thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.

We had a leaving do for 6. All of us ate and drank quite a bit. The welcome was warm and the staff were really helpful. Food arrived quickly and with good portion sizes. We used a mix of ordering at the bar and the app which worked well. Toilets were clean and the bar was tidy. Would highly recommend. Lots of parking at the back, helpful reminders from staff about entering your number plate for the free parking as customers.

Visited for lunch, felt really comfortable in the surroundings and staff were very friendly and welcoming. Food was good and we were looked after by Gemma. We will visit again

I have to admit I was a bit anxious about going out during covid, but if you’re looking for amazing food and somewhere following strict covid guidelines then look no further. I felt completely at ease as not only are they are using the track and trace system but all of the staff are wearing masks and using hand sanitiser. Another great thing about this pub is that there is free parking (you just put your reg into one of the two tablets at the bar) and it’s not too far from the train station either. The staff are always polite and helpful and nothing is too much trouble! The refurb is amazing and I will be back! I particularly enjoyed the karaage chicken and nachos! Yum!

Decent enough pub even in these difficult times but after receiving an £85 ticket I can only conclude they're happy to be running a parking racket.There is no obvious signage in the car park or within the pub itself to indicate that it's a requirement to enter a registration number once inside the pub. Apparently they have a tablet for you to do this. Multiple trips to the bar and to take the kids to the loo, no sign of the tablet, no signage to indicate it was required, no mention from the bar staff that this was a requirement.In fact the only signage my solicitor wife or I saw indicated that parking was reserved for pub patrons which we were, nothing more. Street View doesn't go in there else I'd be posting the evidence. Received a parking ticket about a week after visiting. The multiple complaints along this line relating to this establishment stretching back ~18 months show that this is not an isolated incident and that this is not considered to be an issue by the landlord or the enforcement operator (Euro Car Parks.. just look them up to see how ethical they are considered to be).Referred to the parking ombudsman. The signage is clearly inadequate.

Spent the weekend in Woking, visited the Sovereigns on Friday and Saturday evening, both nights the service from all the staff was first class, we ordered some light bites on Friday these were very well priced and i can highly recommend the calamari accompanied with a couple of pints of Peroni. Saturday i asked the manager if the England football match was on the TV, he immediately switched it over and turned the volume up, must say his performance was far superior to the guys wearing the England shirts, will deffo call in again.

Extremely disappointed . Have been here a couple of times over last few years and never had a problem but after my visit this week would never visit again. Upon arrival my son used the toilet but he discovered someone had been sick in there - but it wasn’t just in the toilet it was everywhere . We made the staff aware and they said would get it cleaned yet 40 mi s later it was still there so my son had to use the ladies toilet in the end . The quing system was horrendous , having to wait right by peoples tables with no social distancing . The food was really lovely however 5 out of the 9 dishes ordered across starters and mains had things missing or incorrect sauce etc and even after asking twice they never came . Food came out in dribs and drabs so we ending up not really eating together and some having mains before starters . We wanted to order dessert but after asking 4 times for our table to be cleared and waiting 40 mins we decided it was never going to happen so left . Staff don’t seem to be happy or willing to help , customer service is shocking and they are not interested in listening to your complaints . Upon leaving - about 2 hours after arriving we overheard a couple complaining about the service and also the state of the male toilets , so these obviously weren’t cleaned the staff member told them if they didn’t like it they could go elsewhere . I appreciate things have been difficult for everyone lately but if you don’t want to be at work then don’t go . I think you really need to find some new staff with good customer service skills who are happy and chatty and want to be part of your team .

Went to this restaurant today bearing in mind all tables were pre-booked in advance so they were more than aware how busy they were going to be we arrived to a table at 1300hr There were eight at our table replaced I’m older I 13.15hr, I did not receive the meals until 14.30 which were our starters being served with our mains which we couldn’t understand the report it to the managers attention this being said both starters and mains was still left a table we had to ask 45 minutes at their take on a plate if we could then about deserts and this was a nightmare as they continuously kept bringing the wrong ones three members of staff throughout the whole restaurant it’s just ridiculous I understand it’s a pandemic but you are more than aware of how busy you were going to be due to the booking system being made definitely will not be visiting this restaurant again every bad stuff happening uncomfortable throughout our stay which was embarrassing as we had family members down I’m up north, Presentation of the food was very poor and of most of our food was overcooked and the steak considering that I took the upgrade and went to the better cut Of steak was absolutely appalling just because it’s helped out to eat out we felt that we were being ripped off

Arrived at 1:45, got our mains at 4pm (yes, 2 hours after ordering we received our food) If it wasn’t for the fact we had paid up front, we would have left. One nice touch was the camaraderie we struck up with our fellow diners on how poor the service was. I had heard bad things about the pub recently, and hoped it wasn’t true. Sadly it was. Such a shame.

We visited here as a group of 8 for lunch time food. Lovely staff and very welcoming. This place has had a makeover since my last visit and it’s been done out really well. Food was very tasty and the plates were all cleared by all of us, car parking is free and you must remember to add your details to the system when you go in. We will definitely come again when in the area.

We visited here as a group of six for an evening meal.Politely met and we gave our details for track and trace,we were also shown that there was a one way system operating in the pub/restaurant.We were shown our table which was well situated considering the current situation.I wont go into details of what we all ate but only to say it was very very nice from the starters to the mains.We chose of the £11.75 menu and it was all we needed .The Staff were polite and the service was good Would we go again ABSOLUTELY *****

Visited the Sovereigns last week to wish farewell to our friends moving to NZ.We had a great time, really accommodating pub, with good food and beer. However, I was shocked to find a parking ticket fine. It has left an awfully bitter taste with us, and unfortunately I wouldn’t host a large group here owing to the confusion around the car parking.I have also tired to email to sort the issue but no response (this could in fairness be to the awful times we are in).Would of put higher score, as it has super friendly staff, and is dog friendly - but the parking is really disappointing.

What a wonderful pub! Really helpful and efficient staff. Dog friendly and a free car park as long as you log into one of the consuls on the bar. Food and drinks are reasonably priced and the food portions are generous. The locals are really friendly as well!

Was a nice pub for a quiet drink with many real ales and mixed age groups. Recently refurbed now lots of tvs sports on at week end and a less pleasant less friendly younger clientele with reduced real ales and cheap chart music in place of real ale and good conversation Also our table had previous punters drinks bottles lying there for hours before Barman cleared upA shame - despite many years drinking here won’t be too keen to return at this point.

We went to see the Sovereigns for a drink and a meal after its recent refit which has very much improved the place. There appear to be a few disgruntled former regulars who don't like any emphasis on food but the overall ambience was good. The menu is an Ember Inns menu of good pub food at a decent price. Unfortunately the beer we asked for wasn't available and the bottle of wine I wanted was out of stock (or the less-than-impressive lad who took our order said as much, without apology, after a quick glance at a few bottles on the counter). It's not a long wine list and it was an advertised beer so for a recently refurbished pub this was a disappointment. I ordered a cheaper wine. The food itself was served to the table by a very pleasant guy and it was well-cooked, decent sized not too large portions, hot and exactly as described on the menu. We chose a dessert but our choice was unavailable (not sold-out - just unavailable). Again, a newly-refurbished establishment needs to ensure that it is able to offer what's advertised as it just leaves a sense of disappointment which is not what is wanted when you want to attract some new customers.

The refit looks amazing. Brilliant night with fantastic food. As always wonderful friendly staff. I look forward to my next visit.

I have to totally disagree with the comments made by sunsetholidaychalets.I was also there on New years Eve. The amount of people that left because of the £15 charge was very minimal. If the person making these comments had looked around and would then have seen all the people really enjoying themselves on the dance floor . There was organisation for the count down but some one insisted the band play on and would not listen to reason on to why they stopped . All in the night was well organised and the people i have spoken to since that were there all said what a great night it was

Lauren the landlady was not forthcoming on the 30th December to show the menu or entertainment for New Years Eve other than to say that it was £15.00 entry or £45.00 for the entry and meal. However she was not conversant with the menu for the night!!!

Not been down in a blue moon, (keep in mind that I only come in on occasion at the best of times) was delighted to be greeted by name with wide smiles and genuine inquiries as to my going ons and general health.

Popped in here yesterday had a couple of snacks(sides ). Stall always friendly and happy to serve. Food was really good.

I come here many times before with my friend as we meet up every 2/3 months and I have never been disappointed. Today o treated my gf to a few drinks and the cocktails are always well made.

Although decent value, the restaurant’s food was pretty dire with the exception of desserts. Breaded mushrooms clearly from Iceland with plain sour cream sauce and the pad Thai was atrocious- vermicelli noodles are not used in pad Thai, it was just a packet sauce with thin noodles and a few vegetables chucked in and tasted awful.

We called in when passing through one day. Very welcoming pub, good choice of beer and gin. Food looked really nice however didnt have time to eat but next time we will be getting something. Prices reasonable and very friendly staff. Used the iPad to register the car and have not incurred a fine. Will be visiting soon.

Called in to the Sovereigns on a weekend trip to Woking, lovely big pub and very welcoming. They have a good selection of gins too, I did not have any food but a couple of others did and they said it was very nice. Next time we are down in Woking will definatley be calling in for a couple of cheeky gins.

Been to sovereigns several times ...good food nice atmosphere ...great choice of beer but the gents toilets are in a hell of a state ...broken toilet seat covers and seat not fixed down ...needs attending to.

I am very unhappy that I have been fined £85 to use their car park. I was a customer. Even if there were signs up in the pub indicating it is a fee paying carpark, I do not want to have to be so vigulant when on leisure time.

Now I know that Woking's pub scene is distinctly sub par but I can't recommend this particular establishment to anyone really. Quiet Thursday night and still having to queue every time we wanted a beer is really not on. Generally poor decor and the chicken burgers dry with cheap buns. If you're out of options then fine but better to spend your money elsewhere.

We enjoyed a delicious meal at The Sovereigns recently. The staff were friendly, attentive and not intrusive. The food was tasty and very well presented. We felt comfortable and all agreed that we were keen to visit again in the near future.

So I haven't been to the Sovereigns for a few years but remember it being cosy with nice food and beer.

Quite a popular pub, busy and vibrant with guests arriving from work Friday evening. Inside there is plenty of comfortable seating with pleasant music creating a comfortable atmosphere. Unfortunately we had a table near the external door, where visitors would constantly leave both doors open when entering, or leaving, or to smoke outside. On a cold day in April, it would not be unreasonable to expect visitors not to leave the doors wide open constantly.

We are regulars at The Sovereigns and have had many good meals here. I was excited to see a couple of new dishes on the menu, including Pad Thai. I ordered it on Friday night and could only laugh when it arrived. A small puddle of sauce with a few very fine noodles in it!

We had a lovely family meal for Mother’s day, 11 of us enjoyed a variation of meals which were all delicious all brought out at the same time so no one had to wait which often happens with a large party. The roast beef was amazing and great selection of puddings

My friend recommended we meet for a lunch here on the 28/03/19. I was blown away by the quality of food and the prices. I had been bigging u up to other friends and relatives. However now receiving a parking fine I will not be recommending at all- a real shame. I really do not think it would have been hard that at the point of ordering your first drink that the staff member could have mentioned something. If you do have pads they were not in the area of the bar I stood. I am happy to come back on here and give 5 stars which the service and food deserved if this fine is eliminated. Visited the sovereigns last night for Quiz night. Lovely food and excellent service from Gemma, Lauren and another lady didn’t get her name, nothing was too much trouble. We found the car park system easy to understand.

Went up several times between December 2018 and March.

I was impressed until I received a parking fine a week later.

I realise that it was a Saturday night but a large section of the pub had a family quiz night and another large section was reserved. It was hard to get a seat and lots of people were served before us.

I was last time in England 13 years ago, when i met with the british kitchen first time...well...the situation didn't change. Unfortunately they still don't use even salt and pepper. Nothing! For me: it is still tasteless and way too much money for this quality. The atmosphere and the beers were nice.

Last Wednesday I went to the sovereign pub after a health care shift, I had cauliflower curry recommended by the assistant manager. The staff have 100 percent, the food was terrific, well done

Visited a couple of weeks ago with a friend and we had good food and friendly service. It was pitch dark in the car park and there were no illuminated signs about charges. Parked in a disabled space with my blue badge. I had previously visited in the summer and thought the car park was free at that time. Imagine my concern to receive a parking charge notice. Despite the pleasant evening this has left a bad impression - if there are charges the signs need to be easily visible.

The atmosphere and the friendly bar staff make it a really nice place to come to. The food is amazing and will always make sure you're accommodated during busy periods. It's great for live sports coverage and will be amazing in the summer!

After a tiring house move all day Saturday, it was refreshing to visit a friendly accommodating pub, with affable pleasant staff. The pub had a good range of beers, with the Stella being particularly good and a the right temperature too. (cool).

Plenty of food for a reasonable price and a decent range of vegetarian choices. Ok atmosphere and was able to settle in for the afternoon with no pressure. It wasn't busy but they forgot my friends dessert and it took a long time for the table to be cleared. Also, the toilets were useable but the bowls could do with a decent scrub.

I had the worst ‘1/2 chicken’ tonight. It had been left heating or whatever for so long it was like sawdust. There is absolutely no love in this food yet the pub is very popular. It’s very sad to see such an opportunity being taken for granted when so many pubs are closing. My meal wasn’t edible but us locals are hoping you can raise your game food wise and not insult us with this poor quality of food.

The Sovereigns is a lovely setting with great service and friendly staff. We had arrived after a football match and there wasn’t stock of my two first choices but the rump was lovely. Great portions. The food at our table was well presented. Prices are affordable. Their two course meals are great value for money. Free parking.
