The Nag's Head Inn in Woking

Last night I attended the Nags Head with my partner for my birthday. I was served by Jennifer who made sure she made it extra special for me and remained friendly and polite throughout the whole dining experience. Will definitely be returning after this exceptional service!

Tucked in nicely near Knaphill. Cosy indoors and good outdoor seating specially when it’s sunny. Good food but overpriced !

Due to a local pub not serving food it was a unanimous decision to try the Nags Head as we were all local people. From the moment we walked in, the welcoming team tended to our needs. The food was exemplary, the Service outstanding nothing was too much trouble. We were so looked after by the superb staff including Ben, Harry & Josie & absolute credit to the chefs behind the scenes who produced first class cuisine. We were celebrating a birthday in the group & we all were super impressed by absolutely everything. If I had to rate this experience it would be top marks in all fields. Well done everybody you made our impromptu evening so memorable & enjoyable. Huge congratulations to each & every one of you including a new waiter who started this evening who was so professional on all fronts. WE WILL ALL BE BACK. ⭐️⭐️⭐️🙏🏻⭐️⭐️⭐️

The pub looked absolutely amazing after the renovation!!! Very classy, with food and service to match as always. :)) All the staff were amazing, food was brilliant and grandma says that Keira in particular was very welcoming, will definitely come back again!

The time extension was too long. We were at the diner for TWO HOURS, as we had expected, one hour instead.

My friend and I met here for lunch yesterday. All the staff were very attentive but unobtrusive. We had the lunch menu, the chicken and mozzarella toasted sandwich was delicious, as was the rhubarb crumble and custard. Will definitely be back. A special shout out to Freya - nothing was too much trouble for her.

We had an amazing time here thanks to the amazing lady called kedi who served us she was polite and really took her time to get to know us and gave some great suggestions as we were both stuck on what we really wanted The food was so delicious and the wine selection was great We look forward to our next time here

Went on a Friday night. Ordered food about 19:45. Didn’t get mains until gone 22:30. When we enquired about 22:00 as to the whereabouts of our food the waitress said without blinking ‘they are just plating it up now’ which was a flat out lie or it took 30 minutes plates up. None of the staff took our complaint seriously and didn’t even get a sorry.

The Nags Head Pub serves an absolutely perfect pint of Guinness! Smooth, creamy, and poured to perfection, just as it should be. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and a proper pint—highly recommend!

2025 update: Make sure you book for food to make sure they don't turn you away if you just turn up. Very friendly pub, best in area. Good food and drink options. Lots of space inside and out.

Ked made our meal a special event, excellent customer service. Really enjoyed our meal, very well presented and cooked.

The decor and layout of the restaurant is fresh and inviting. Service from the staff was fine. I ordered the dirty burger but it was underwhelming. I would go back, but will try something else from the menu.

This is the 3rd time I have stopped here after work. Each time the service and food has been excellent. All the servers work as a team and help each other . My burger was hit and tasted great. I will come here again when working in that area.

Sunday roasts were good. Thick slices and lots of veg. Fish and chips were not crispy enough. Service was a bit slow as it was a Sunday, and their menu was huge which generally would slow down the service. Other than that, we had a great time.

As always had an amazing evening here. The staff are always so so friendly, they make you feel so welcome! The food is always outstanding. Can’t wait to come back!

Excellent service, food and atmosphere. Very competitively priced too. Was served by Maddy and Emma, with further interaction with the manager, Paulina. Very pleasant young women who made me feel most welcome. Have dined at The Nag's Head several times over the years and have always experienced high service standards. Will definitely return, especially as pub is within walking distance of my home. Very many thanks to one and all.

Beautifully well presented pub, decor was lovely and well furnished. Everything felt high end and classy which was a lovely atmosphere the minute you enter the pub. The service was excellent, staff were clearly well trained, very attentive and polite. The food was both delicious and incredibly well presented, with very generous portion sizes, which were definitely worth the price. Lots of variety on the menu for a Sunday roast or otherwise too, so there's something for everyone. There were good vegetarian and vegan options too, so there's something for everyone. Their drinks selection was vast as well, from alcoholic drinks to hot/soft drinks. Extensive menu suitable for all. Will definitely be coming back here again!

Service was great as were all the staff, so professional and friendly. They made us (4 ladies that lunch) feel very welcome, they didn’t rush us, we were taking our time as we had seen each other in a while. The food was delicious, we all cleared our plates! We will certainly be coming again.

The food wasn't bad but the wait for food was extremely long and it wasn't even very busy. The wait for the bill took so long that we went up to pay and we were not informed of the price or whether or not it had a service fee, we were just handed the card machine which wasn't facing in a position to see the amount on the screen. Nothing terrible but we also wouldn't go back in a hurry.

We were looked after by Wanida who was absolutely brilliant. Food was just divine and coupled with an outstanding service our Valentine’s Day lunch was superb. Thanks Wanida.

Quick service and friendly staff.

Sadly it didn’t live up to a positive recommendation. Service was poor. We had to chase everything and they eventually explained they were understaffed and apologised. Young staff so one makes allowances, but they didn’t seem overly rushed. They were cleaning tables ahead of focussing on empty glasses and finished plates. “Please can we order… please can we have water… please can we have water glasses… please can you take these plates.” When you have to send ice cream back twice because it was melted, it gives you an idea. Food was good, I guess. I’m just glad it was my wife and our youngest and not a big family gathering. Real shame.

I had a lovely Sunday lunch with friends at Nag’s Head Inn in Woking. It was my first time here and I was so impressed. The interior design it’s so beautiful and atmosphere is very relaxed and welcoming. The service is so friendly. Our waitress Kiera was so attentive and smiley all the time. We certainly had a great catch up with friends in a lovely environment. Will definitely come back soon with my family. Thank you.

Despite several dishes being unavailable the evening was very good , especially made so by our waitress Wanida. An absolute credit to the restaurant, thank you.

Fantastic roast dinner. We drive from 45 minutes away just for this roast and it never disappoints. Looks great after the refurb and atmosphere and staff are very welcoming. Lots of families around!

Visited the Nags Head for the first time today. It was very quiet possibly because it was a Monday. We have visited other pubs within the Premium Country Pub Collection but this was our first time here. The food was superb. We both had the rare surf and turf (cooked perfectly) and shared a Brownie and Ice Cream for dessert. The new Loyalty App offering 50% off mains in January, made it fantastic value! Top marks to Teddy, our friendly, efficient and very attentive waiter. And most impressive of all: Teddy is the only person, so far, who knows how to process the discount QR/Reward codes. Other pubs in the group have managed, but it was never straightforward!

64 pounds for a one course dinner, that I could have made 100 times better at home for alot less than half the price. Very poor quality food unfortunately, because it use to be so much nicer. Told the hostess I was disappointed and my response was to maybe try something else off the menu instead?

I really wanted to like this place as it’s my local. They sent us a 50% off mains voucher so thought we’d give it a try. The welcome was very friendly and despite booking in the bar area we were offered a seat in the restaurant, which we took. The refurbished dining room is a nice place to sit and the table was clean and well presented . We were offered drinks quickly and they arrived after 10 minutes. When the waitress took our order she said there was a little wait for food. Our starter of squid arrived after 20 minutes and was tasty. We then waited over an hour for our mains. During that time we ordered more drinks which the waitress forgot. When our food did arrive it was underwhelming; my wife’s burger was overcooked and my venison was average. They were probably worth the half price cost but I’d not pay full price for them. It’s a shame that a pub in such a location with a great dining area serves such average food. I felt sorry for the waitresses who were obviously let down by the kitchen and had to fend off complaints from many customers. Next time I’ll walk up the road to somewhere that can provide better food and service.

Came with my friends and partner for dinner and had a lovely time. Looks great after the refurb with Great atmosphere and the team is lovely :) Food was delicious, can especially recommend the lamb! Will definitely be returning.

Always a warm welcome and we were particularly pleased that our VIP guest could chose gluten -free dishes with ease.

Had lunch with a friend today. Went for the dirty burger. Ordered water and a soft drink. Arrived promptly and order taken in good time. Kudos to Tamzin and Keira ( I hope I got your names right). Burger was as tasty as it looks, decent fries. Good value for money and choices of menu/ food. Nice warm fire.and cosy set up, high end decor finish as well. Will definitely be returning again soon.

I went for dinner over Christmas time and the food was lovely and the service was great. The pub looks great after the redo.

Big car park, proper Surrey pub with good food, welcoming staff and a nice log fire. Loads of tables in the restaurant and ample bar area

Took 50 minutes to get our meals from when we arrived. 20 minute wait before we were offered drinks and then found out my meal choice was not available. The room was really cold. The radiators were not on - just the log fire. A couple near us complained about the cold room but the supervisor they spoke to would not commit to doing anything and the heating did not come on. Our waitress was lovely but they clearly needed another staff member on duty. Nice decor . Food ok but the vegetable side dish was tepid and absolutely no broccoli in the veg selection which was the first ingredient on the description of the dish. Couldn’t complain as goodness knows how long it would have taken to get it warmed up . Won’t be going back- shame as we are really local and it could have been really nice if they had put the heating on and had enough staff.

I went there on Christmas Day for lunch with my family. The staff there were great, very friendly & attentive, the food was delicious and we weren't given the feeling of being rushed. I will be going back soon.

Great meal except we were with a large table and with each meal there seemed to be one meal missing even though we pre ordered food. Other than this the venue was great, food was amazing and staff were really friendly!

Visited today with guests from Wales. Haven’t been for many years and was very worried taking visiting family to somewhere we hadn’t tried. We were very pleasantly surprised and impressed. Setting was absolutely lovely, service was exceptional and food was very very good especially as they were packed out. The kitchen did an amazing job! Will now make this our go to venue which is such a wonderful thing for Knaphill. Really well done all involved at The Nags Head.

The Nags Head catered for 14 of us for Christmas Lunch yesterday and it couldn’t have been more perfect if they had tried! The food was absolutely delicious, with generous, beautifully cooked portions & little extra lovely touches! The staff , especially Tom, made the day, they were very attentive and happy which made for the perfect atmosphere. The new decor is beautiful, the burning log fire & stunning Christmas decorations added to the ideal ambiance. Thank you all very much indeed 🙏 you got everything so right for us all! Happy new year! What a pleasant mid week drink with a friend. It was a busy evening in the restaurant and quiet busy in bar area but wasn't too noisy and and the staff were pleasant.

We had a really lovely visit to the Nags Head, we went for the breakfast with Santa event and it was fantastic! Very helpful staff, delicious food and my daughters really enjoyed chatting to Santa. Thank you to all involved.

We went for breakfast with Santa. Was shocked no brown bread only white. So 2 of us had to go without toast as we are intolerant to white bread. Others said toast was cold. My niece who is vegan only had choice of advacado and mushrooms on toast and was charged a lot for the amount she was served. Most places offer different types of bread so was surprised they didn’t. Will not be going again I’m afraid.

Since its upgrade, the fish, of the fish and chips, has got smaller. Mind, someone has to pay for the upgrade and I suppose that at the end of the day, it is the customer who suffers, financially and nutritionally. Mind, it still tasted nice !

Two years ago I gave a bad report. I returned recently as we were invited to try the new menu and to have one free meal. I attended with my wife for our anniversary. My wife had pork that was so tough she could not eat it. Crackling was like rubber. I had chicken bacon and cheese pie. It had two small pieces of chicken, no bacon and two spoonfuls of melted cheese. Later that night I felt unwell. The waiter however was really good. At the end I was told that I could not have the free meal as I ate from the old menu. At no time were we offered the new menu.

Came for the preview lunch after the refurb and had a great meal. Food was excellent and we had amazing service from Tamzin who gave good recommendations and was friendly and attentive. Love the refurb - pub still has that cosy country pub feel but the new chairs/tables/furnishings are all a big improvement. Will definitely be back. Thank you!

Lovely refurbished Nags Head. Had a lovely meal here last night. The food was amazing (although chips could have been a bit hotter. Staff were lovely, and the atmosphere was lovely. I feel blessed that this is my local. Will be coming again regularly.

Would highly recommend, food came quickly, Megan came to take our order, she was so polite and very understanding of my 3 year old son who was very indecisive and was asking for things that was not on the menu, she engaged with him explaining each thing on the menu to him. This is the perfect place to take you kids
