Terrible service, don't bother if you're not local/Caucasian

We love this pub, the team are always friendly & welcoming. The food is excellent, I would highly recommend a Sunday Roast which comes with lots of vegetables, excellent gravy & very generous portions. The pub is warm & welcoming with a lovely large garden at the back which is gorgeous in the summer time.

Great smiling staff, always on hand. Food was good quality, a little overpriced for what we all had. But a lovely country pub and would visit again if in the area.

Visited yesterday with a few friends from my scooter club. Nice place. The staff were friendly and very welcoming. Overall the pub had a good vibe. I’ll definitely be returning.

Visited with friends for dinner. Lovely atmosphere and attentive service. We all enjoyed the food. The pace of service was perfect. The wine list is well curated with something for all tastes and budgets. We will return.

Chips were not great. Fish was OK. Overall, I'd say below average on the food.

I came in for a quick breakfast and ordered porridge, but it was served in a chipped bowl. This is unacceptable, as it raises concerns about hygiene and safety. Very disappointing experience!

Disgusting customer service. The people here are horrible and are ableist towards people with tourette’s. Do not support them.

We’ve enjoyed this pub for the last five years or so, and the new owners are friendly and have done a lovely job with the refurbishment. However, we’re really disappointed with the food prices. This is a small village pub, not a gastro pub — yet we were charged £4.95 for the smallest bowl of chips, and £12 for a plate of nachos that didn’t even have any real cheese on them, just squeezy cheese sauce. To put it into perspective: most pubs in the area charge around £3–£4 for a decent portion of chips, and you can usually get fully loaded nachos with actual melted cheese, sour cream, guac and jalapeños for under £10 — even in larger chains. At this price point, you’d expect better quality and portion sizes. The menu now seems to mirror the Tipsy Fox, which has also become overpriced. It’s disheartening to see such steep price increases, especially as we’ve regularly supported your pubs, particularly in the warmer months. We completely understand that costs are rising for businesses, but the current mark-up feels excessive and risks driving loyal customers away.

We need to talk about the chips. Awful in a word, dry, flavourless, poor. Fish was good, so was the battered sausage as was the curry sauce. But yeah, the chips were terrible. All the family thought so.

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at the Greyhound. Both Caroline and Steve are exceptional hosts, nothing being too much trouble and both going that extra mile to ensure your stay with them is a very pleasant experience. The breakfast and evening meals that we had were well very well presented and absolutely delicious. Great location for exploring the local historic sites.

Excellent, very welcoming. Excellent food and the beer is not bad either. Maybe a new owner but very well managed. Food was quickly on the table. Staff very friendly and competent.
