Best fish and chips we have had for ages, freshly cooked as you wait, fish so fresh I’m sure it swam straight to the plate. The fryer man is a really nice friendly person, willing to engage in conversation if customer wants. Relaxing place for lunch no loud music belting outside to spoil your time there.

Firstly I’d like to say that the reviewer who posted last with an awful review, I was sat on number 2 near your table with my partner and baby and heard your witch hunt! You were rude to the bar man by clicking your fingers at him etc. We ordered our meals about the same time, I had steak the same as you, my partner SFC and both were delicious we left nothing on our plates. The pub wasn’t cold I’d even taken my coat off and the bar man was in a black short sleeved shirt! We eat at the Pear Tree often and everything is as it should be.

We arrived in lovely sunshine but were disappointed to find that contrary to the impression given in the advertisement by Lakeland Retreats of sitting on your decking enjoying the sun there is no sun as the Lawns is surrounded by high trees making the interior constantly dark. You have to put the lights on for your breakfast and if you eat in later in the day then also. My partner decided to have a bath the first night but unfortunately contrary to the management company's assertion that there's a constant supply of hot water the hot water ran out and the water turned cold. This happened twice as it did to our neighbours in the adjoining Lakeland Retreats property. We normally have a cooked breakfast on a Sunday but we were appalled to find that the two frying pans supplied were pitted with rust and unusable. Finally as the season turned from summer to autumn the evenings got a little nippy. We tried to turn up the storage radiators but found that the controls are blocked by wooden brackets screwed over the radiators so you can't use them. A beautiful area but we won't be using Lakeland Retreats again if this is the standard they aspire to!

Certain members of the McDonald's team aren't pulling their weight. At precisely 5 pm one lady decided to close the section next to Costa. Given that the car park is full and the motorway is very busy, I feel this is a poor reflection on harrased travellers. She is the only person to do this.

I highly recommend this lovely little English chippy. Today we treated ourselves to a chippy dinner, my children had the children's meal box, amazing value and quality at just £3. I had Fish and chips with a tub of mushy peas, very impressed at the top quality for the price. The fish was Haddock, chunky and vary tasty, the chips were fresh, hot and great quality. The two ladies that served me were friendly, chatty and pleasant. I highly recommend this fantastic chippy.

We love this cafe. Always a wonderful friendly greeting. Such a lovely place to eat. We take our mum often and they always make a fuss of her, she's almost 100 years old and loves the soup and cuppa. The food is always tasty and well presented. Roll on our next visit.

You don’t expect much when you decide to have lunch in a supermarket cafe, but Sainsbury’s cafe exceeded my expectations. I had the lightest, tastiest quiche I’ve had in a long time. It was served warm with hot chips and a fresh salad - which looked and tasted great. Like I said, not the quality you expect, so I look forward to visiting again soon.

I was down for a family event with my mum recently and stayed at the Kilton. The rooms were fine, with comfy beds, you could hear a little noise from the hall way but I had a comfy sleep both nights, my only complaint about the room was that it was quite cold when we arrived and the heating appeared to be a storage heater that didn't work, we raised this with the hotel and someone was meant to come and look at it but I'm not sure this actually happened, but at the end of the day it was warm enough at night. We only had breakfast at the restaurant so can't comment on the meals too much, however I enjoyed breakfast both mornings. The staff were polite and friendly particularly George who got a lesson in Whisky pouring from my mum! If I was down again I'd happily stay here
