You don’t expect much when you decide to have lunch in a supermarket cafe, but Sainsbury’s cafe exceeded my expectations. I had the lightest, tastiest quiche I’ve had in a long time. It was served warm with hot chips and a fresh salad - which looked and tasted great. Like I said, not the quality you expect, so I look forward to visiting again soon.

A great trip to the cafe! I was greeted by a lovely young man named Jacob who was happy to help with all requests. Service was speedy, professional and caring. I’ll definitely be returning!

Holumi breakfast was very disappointing- nothing like the picture advertised. I received 2 measly, thin strips of haloumi, reheated baked beans, a hard fried egg and white toast. I wasn't asked whether I would like brown or white toast. I have to have brown - for my stomach. The breakfast was a bit cold too. The hot chocolate was not hot either. Would not recommend cooked breakfast here.

We place our order at 1.25p.m. a toasted sandwich, kids chicken nuggets, kids pizza and a hunters chicken. The pizza came with 2 sides which were both vegetable based. I asked if we could change this for chips and was told no, but it was fine to change the side choice on the nuggets to chips! After 20 minutes there was still no sign of our food and people around us had been served so I went to ask. The girl on the till said she would ask for me. After 10 minutes we still hadn't heard anything or got our food, so I asked again and was told when she asked the kitchen 10 minutes earlier they said it would be 5 minutes because we had chicken nuggets and they had to be cooked to order. I pointed out it had been a further 10 minutes so she went to ask again. We still not no response, so after another 10 minutes I asked another member of staff who said ours would be out next. We then watched at least 3 tables get their food before us. When it finally came it was not worth the wait. See pictures. Triple cooked chips but not in the good beefeater way! Virtually no cheese on the pizza and hard to cut nuggets. We wont be returning.

Had a snack here with my wife. The plusses are that the cafe is clean, spacious, and well set out. And the snacks are quite acceptable, as are the drinks, especially the coffee. Where it falls down somewhat is in the afternoon, when the available food in the chiller display, which one selects for heating/toasting, is very poorly stocked, leaving an extremely limited choice.

Not consistent in presentation or customer service . Perhaps requires some staff training . Presentation need not be bland just needs some imagination

We've eaten here a few times - the food is nice and good value BUT takes ages to arrive. Today we were told 20 minutes but it took over 30. There was a mix up with the order too. The staff are very pleasant and working hard but there needs to be better organisation in the kitchen. Just too slow for a supermarket.

The woman serving was rude and grumpy. I’d like to say she was just having an off day but unfortunately I’ve suffered her bad service before.I was abruptly told to “wait” as I approached the counter before I had even uttered a word. After ordering the wait for the hot food (one meal of fish and chips) was ridiculously long, The food was okay when it did arrive but the lengthy wait for such a simple order was unacceptable.

We visited the cafe prior to the game at Deepdale. Very nice clean cafe on the upper level. Fish and chips were nice with friendly staff. It did take some time to arrive, 30 mins I think, and the cafe wasn’t that busy. 5 mins walk to the stadium. Nice food and good value

Called here for a snack whilst shopping. Quite impressed with the range and quality of food and drinks. The café area is extensive, neat, and clean. The Café is on the first floor (lift served), and toilets - very clean indeed - are on the same level. Based on my visit, can certainly recommend.

The food is very tasty but not worth the money. The coffee is also a bit overpriced. Tables were not always cleared.

I use the cafe a lot for a drink before shopping. Coffee is ok but rather expensive for a supermarket cafe. I rarely eat there, as the food is expensive.

Took the kids for lunch whilst I had a coffee. One of the kids had a lunch box and the other had a hot meal. The hot meal took ages to arrive and by the time it did the lunch box had been eaten and my coffee (which was tepid to start with) was done.

Come here regular, fairly good standards, good value. Staff quite helpful and polite menu could do with updating on certain items but overall much better than some restaurants.

Just an average sandwich with average service. Nothing outstanding but nothing particularly poor either. Not quite as good as the other store in Preston unfortunately.

Had a late afternoon snack here with my wife. She ordered a sandwich, and me, a cottage pie, which consisted of pie, carrots, peas, and gravy. Sandwich OK. My pie was hot, but with proportions of 90% potato and 10% mince beef, was certainly short in the meat department. What I found unacceptable was cold carrots and peas. Half way through my meal, a waitress asked if everything was OK, and I told her "no" and explained why. She offered to take my meal away and re-heat, but by this time, my wife had finished her sandwich, so I didn't want her to have to hang around any longer. Apology offered, but that was all.

The cafe at Sainsbury's Supermarket in Preston is actually famous. It's the first Sainsbury's Coffee Shop to go Fairtrade with all coffee, tea and hot chocolate and some snacks are now Fairtrade. Good for them. The place is perched above the shopping area with a view of the aisles and the outside car park. Inside it's very much a canteen. Nothing special but alright to sit for a drink and a quick meal. They have a handy lift in which you can bring your trolley if you want.As with most supermarket cafes the fare is limited to the 'classics'. Pies, butties, breakfasts and so on. Nothing too complicated or expensive. I had the Big (English) Breakfast for just under £5 which was not big enough so had to add mushrooms and fried bread - some 'big' breakfasts come with these already. The extra mushrooms was just one large flat mushroom - for 70p - not much of a bargain. This was all cooked well with the egg runny as it should be. In fact the quality of the ingredients was very good, again as it should be considering this is Sainsbury's. You don't have to pay extra for sauce either as you do in some supermarkets. The food didn't take very long to order and arrive and the service was efficient and polite. Couldn't really fault them for that. But cannot give more than an average mark as the food selection is quite small and basic, and the 'one mushroom' did annoy me. However, it is a passable place to rest after shopping.

I've been here a couple of times recently and have been very pleasantly surprised. The staff are lovely and took good care to ensure the order was right. The chicken salad was super- fresh and tasty! If they had coca cola rather then Pepsi it would be even better 😉

Not a fan of bottomless brunches in general, only went for my daughter’s birthday. The food was so horrid it was actually amusing, I thought it was our complimentary starting platter , not a main meal to share with 6 of us 😂 chips, spring rolls and small pieces of chicken that looked and tasted like icelands’ finest. If you’re going for the food don’t bother 😂 The drinks, atmosphere and service top notch though, the bingo is good fun, time flew by. You get your monies worth with the drinks alone, glasses were never empty. Up the food quality and portions and this place will do well.

Amazing experiance in the heart of Preston for those people that like to be made special and receive value for money. Warm welcome, amazing high spec venue, serving high end quality food and drinks served by extremely efficent and professional staff. The entertainment provided on Saturday evenings is an added bonus and definately on par with London and Manchester. X highly recommended
