After a month had passed since my last review decided too try a peroni again omg was still disgusting paid 12.10 for the sourest most disgusting drink ever obviously they don't listen or look at reviews too improve stella slightly better don't order Veronica woman said bad barrell but was happy too serve

Called in for lunch on our way home. Excellent service from the team. Can certainly recommend the Gammon which was really tasty. The Fish Cakes was also good.

New menu was recently launched and I tried the Kofta and flat bread with sweet potatoes fries and salad. Thoroughly enjoyed it; well presented, great taste and I cleared the dish. In summary, great food, friendly staff and excellent service. Thank you.

My family and I decided to stop here for dinner one Sunday. I can’t help but praise the incredible and helpful staff. The food is excellent, reasonably priced, and comes in generous portions. I strongly recommend trying this place for lunch.

Visited today while on a over night stop at the Ibis. As we normally visit a hungry horse in our area as the food is good, but this was a disappointment after driving from Glasgow and looking forward to a meal. We arrived at 6pm to be told they don't have any roast dishes, lasagne, chicken strips and other stuff . We then proceeded to order different food and drinks to then be told it would be 40mins wait while the restaurant was half full. Ordered 2 kids meals and 2 adults meals but one of the kids was sick due to the rice having some kind of sauce or something in it but when speaking to the waiter he said it was butternut squash. How ever it was savoury rice. Should only be carrot and peas. I tried the rice and it tasted like overcooked microwaved rice (mush) However the food finally arrived closer to an hour. Rather disappointing

A fairly quiet pub close to the motorway with a lot of car parking spaces. Food always comes quite quickly and the staff are friendly enough. Play area attached.

Pleasantly suprised by this pub! The food was lovely and quick which was perfect after a long day for myself, my daughter and partner (very child friendly pub) The children’s play area was immaculate! The staff were attentive and friendly! Couldn’t ask for more for a very hungry family!

If you intend to have a meal, i would ask what meals are available Most of the menu was unavailable on our visist and what was the meals were incomplete. Full English didn't even have an egg. Ice cream served in a cardboard cup with a plastic spoon, again not all flavours available. As this is not our first bad experience at this place we have decided not to return. Its no wonder the place didn't have many customers

Great place to meet up with friends and family. Food is good value but takes a while to come out as most is freshly cooked. Be careful with parking as you only get 3 hours unless you enter your registration number at the till .

We have been again today, and what a disappointment the food was, it cold and look like it had been cooked more than once. Horrible I can’t believe how bad this was. So on this occasion I will not be recommending the Phantom Winger. You really can’t serve food like this. I had only just sat down from ordering this and within a few minutes the food had arrived. Already cooked and warmed up.

Very sad to see a TV on each table playing children's TV. A pub chain making money out of screen addiction, rather than doing anything to tackle it.

The meal wasn't great, atmosphere was good and the staff couldn't do enough, it's OK for a reasonable priced meal

Food took 45 minutes to come out and then when it arrived it was literally cold so sent it back and waited a further 20 minutes before asking for a refund will not be returning here

No white wine no rose wine. No lemonade no diet coke. The bitter tasted like vinegar Curry night .. only one available curry 👎 Hardly any food or drink available on the menu. Food came quickly but it was only just warm. We stay in the hotel next door and this is the second AND LAST time we will ever eat or drink in this place. 2nd chance and it was actually WORSE than the first time.

Pub meal with the kids after a quick play in the soft play area. Nice big burger for me and 2 kids meals that have plenty of choices. Service was fast and Harry was excellent bringing extra napkins and some colouring activities for the kids. Would definitely go again for pub grub that's suitable for kids.

Great selection of food and everything I've tried has been delicious and good portion sizes. A great play area as well, my nieces loved at and have asked when they can go again. Staff were lovely too, so definitely somewhere I would go again.

Okay so it isn't very often that I completely slate a venue, but this one was truly atrocious. Firstly we had to wait over an hour for our food and when it did eventually arrive it was well below par and cold.The manager displayed a cavalier attitude when we requested a full refund which we got but he apparently ' forgot' to inform us he had done, will not be returning here in a hurry.

Worst food going pub was empty food arrived cold after waiting half an hour and over all the staff just didn't have a clue

We cannot fault the hungry horse staff at all! We ended up breaking down the evening of 22nd may just as we were joining the slip road of the m55, my mum managed to get us of the motorway and we basically free wheeled and came across the sign for the phantom winger so we pulled in, we had 4 kids and two puppies with us. The RAC couldn’t fix the car nor could we be recovered due to the recovery truck being two small! The pub allowed us to wait inside even after it had closed until a taxi arrived to take us home back to where we had come from! They made sure we had a drink, allowed the kids to have ice cream allowed us to use the facilities even gave the doggies some treats! Thank you SO much for your kindness and hospitality we shall be sure to come back for some food at a later date! Thank you for looking after us and taking the stress away in what was an awful experience! Amazing staff , especially Bec and the guy that tried to find us a pet friendly Uber ( I forgot your name sorry 🙈)

Deep fried and beige. You can't advertise salt and pepper chips with chilli,garlic, etc and then produce regular chips with salt and pepper seasoning. Everything had the look of being cooked in old oil. Sad as the staff were mega friendly.

Used the phantom Winger as a drop off waiting for my pick up to take me home. And whilst I was there I had a few drinks thinking it would be a nice day out for the family with the kid. Big play area for the kids looked like fun and the food menu looked half decent so I think a revisit with the family is on the cards.! 👍🏻

Came Sunday teatime and enjoyed a lovely roast dinner. Staff were really friendly and helpful even though it was busy. Didn’t realise that it’s dog friendly. We’ll be visiting more often now we know we don’t have to leave the dog at home!

i am due to visit this place for sunday roast ,, i find it so hard to believe that after several reviewa its the same old things waiting time food not up to scratch without the owner trying to improve , i will be visiting a week on sunday and give my true and honest review ,,,, i do hope they have took the time

The Phantom Winger has been a great place to visit for many, many years. Staff are always well trained, friendly and polite. Food was excellent as always. Only one thing prevented a full five stars and that was the pricing on some of the drink lines. Almost £5 for a 330ml bottle of Greene King branded ale is steep to say the least. Gastro pubs charge a similar price for a full pint of cask conditioned real ale. Such a shame as it soured the milk on an otherwise great visit.

I think the chef must of lost his soul a long time ago because the food was just awful 😖 I just don't know how you can manage to overcook frozen food or if that's all you've got to play with at least get creative with the presentation.

Brought the kids to the wacky warehouse yesterday and Keisha behind the desk was really helpful and polite. kids had a great time will come again.

We got two teas and a straight coffee but the little jug off milk for three drinks. Now come on for that price. And the milk made white blobs float on the drinks. So just walked out. What was the point complaining. We didn't eat after leaving the brews. Not going back there.

First time visiting yesterday and wow we will be back! Food was fast, hot and delicious! Definitely recommend the crispy chicken sandwich. The manager and the staff were really friendly.

My sons and granddaughter enjoyed their chicken meal they said the chicken was tasty and not dry. But my mushroom and ail pie was not edible. The pastry was so hard, more like pork pie pastry and I could not cut it. I broke the top off it and although the sauce was tasty there were only two small bits of mushroom in it. Still I think if you are a veggie you can't expect much else from a place that is basically geared for meat eaters

Food not good! Steak pie pastry Hard, Mash Potato Disgusting! Looked like someone has dropped it on the floor floor and stood on it, flat as a pancake!!!, curry only warm, NO Fish and chips available, and NO Seabass in fact NO fish of any discription. 1 star is being generous !!

We went for Breakfast with the Easter Bunny, it was fab, the staff were amazing the food was lovely so much of it, great value for money. We will return Thank you for a lovely morning.

Waited nearly an hour for foodcwhen it arrived it was cold ordered a pudding waited over 30 minutes forcthem to say they didnt have it

Disappointed with quality of the food. Ordered basic steak and eggs breakfast medium rare. First one came it was completely raw in the middle. Told them, they clearly chucked it in a frying pan and brought it back but still raw. Complained again so they made a fresh steak. It was raw to rare but because my wife had finished hers about 20 mins prior to me getting the 3rd attempt I decided to just eat it. The cook and I use the term loosely, needs some training on how to cook a steak. It wasn't like there were loads of customers in. They couldn't blame it on that. I even said to my wife should I ask if I could go in and show them how to cook a steak correctly. Update: I emailed Green King to discuss the problems with the meal and they didn't have the decency to reply. The loss of my custom will not bother them but hopefully this review will ensure others are aware of the poor quality of customer service and lack of kitchen skills the cook has.

The Phantom Winger is a very nice place with a lovely atmosphere, the staff are very friendly, very helpful, very caring. The food is very nice, with good portions. It's excellent if your a family, you've got children, cause there is different things to do, to keep the children occupied.

Very disappointing for mother days meal. Food was cold so had to send it back couple of times and the steak was grisly and chewy. Management did give refund of one meal witch was appreciated but over all spoiled the occasion was spoiled.

I'm pleasantly surprised. Went for the play area. Had the Chicken Parmigiana, it was a tasty dish for a decent price, would go again.

It's always a great atmosphere when I come here. The play area is really good and the actual pub area is kept clean.

Two of us. Fish and chips, all day breakfast, two lemon and limes... the food was top notch, can't be faulted. Cooked perfectly. On the other hand, the drinks had the smallest measure of lime I have ever been given. There was extremely small flavour in the drink to suggest it was supposed to be lemon and lime. Its a shame really. It was like asking for a beer and being given a Guinness. Perhaps not the best comparison, but you get what I mean... I like lemon and lime! I asked for lemon and lime, I wanted lemon and lime. Why did you serve me lemon which tasted like it was all by its lonesome self? The food is great though. I strongly suggest paying a visit, just don't order a lemon and lime.

Like any pub, they all can have an off day. Slow service even though it was half empty. It's probably the fourth time we have been and every single time they do not have something on the menu. Could be better!

We visited twice whilst on holiday for a meal with my family who we had travelled up to meet , The first time there were no issues apart from the wacky warehouse area being closed -this was fine as we had arrived just after 7 pm so not a problem. We came back again at an earlier time to get into the wacky warehouse area and then meet our family again a bit later on .The wacky warehouse part had one staff on, who bless her seemed to be trying to run things on her own. I would have thought that with the amount of families in there , a minimal of 3 or 4 staff would have been better , in case of a problem, Which there was - a young child aged 6 had got her foot caught in the netting. My daughter had come out to try and find help from staff. In the end I went and helped whilst my eldest tried to find staff to let them know. I finally managed to get her foot out as it had gone through both layers of netting .Then we went to the restaurant side for food. We ordered the food and waited. We only ordered our food 5- 6 minutes after our other family had . Our other family got their meals and were half way through when we got ours or had already finished. They forgot my daughters drink which was included in the meal and despite asking for it several times it still did not come , Luckily i had brought a drink with me for her. Our food finally come out and once we had finished we asked for my daughters dessert which was included with her meal. Whilst we waited for this , my family had ordered, received and eaten their puddings , My daughter asked for jelly and icecream and waited about 45min. We asked for it 3 or 4 times before it was finally bought over. There was No apology for the delay, we could understand if the restaurant was busy but it was not. All in all NOT a satisfactory visit

Visited the Phantom Winger for a meal with family Friday evening 23rd February 2024. Service was very disjointed, to say the least. There were 7 in our group the youngest of which was my 7 year old granddaughter. Who was kept waiting at least 45 minutes or more for her pudding of ice cream & jelly. It took several times of asking before it finally arrived, long after her big sister aged 11 had had her pudding. Also of ice-cream, but without jelly. And everyone else had long since finished eating. I was waiting slightly longer than that for my sticky toffee pudding. Which in the end I just told a member of staff not to bother with it, as we'd been waiting far too long already & we're wanting to get home. The moment/mood for even wanting pudding on my part by then had long since passed anyway. So I just said take it off the bill, as I wasn't going to let my other half be charged for something we hadn't even had. Really disappointed, I know it was fairly busy however service should be able to be maintained at a reasonably good level regardless if how quiet or busy the place is. We had recommended the Phantom Winger to our family member's as a good family orientated place to go. But wish we hadn't on this occasion as the service was frankly abysmal. That's to say nothing about the fact that, for the 2nd time in a row they didn't actually have some of the puddings that were advertised. We were told, due to waiting on a delivery. Really need to train your staff how to work like a well oiled machine. Rather than a load of individual cogs that don't interlock & work together.

Really poor food, burnt and cold and waited almost an hour and a half. Might of been a bad night for them but won't be going again. Staff were helpful and nice in all fairness but service and food really poor.

We have eaten here twice now on both occasions it's really good for pub food. For those among us with allergies they have a good choice. I would say it's a really good pub for all I would recommend it.

Good food. Plenty of room. A lot of times I've visited there's been a fuction or large party booked which has caused food wait to be up to an hour so check beforehand. Worth the wait as its a nice relaxed place with a good menu and car park is big, also a wacky warehouse area for kids

Never knew this little gem existed. What a find. So clean. Great parking. Nice inexpensive food. Well served and prepared. Will 100 percent be returning.

Visited here for breakfast and dinner while staying at the ibs next door can't fault none of it price very good and food was great and it was a Tuesday which happened to be there local games night what a great atmosphere all staff very pleasant and helpful

We organised a suprise 60th meal here on the 6th January 2024, From start to finish the whole experience was absolutely faultless. Once booking the event, we were asked to come in to grab a menu and notify them with as many of the orders as we could beforehand to ensure all the food would be available on the day and so that all meals would be served at relatively the same time. Once all meals were booked I received a few phone calls from Hannah to triple check everything and that all steaks etc were to be cooked to preference and dietary requirements catered for. When we arrived we had a whole section of the ground floor cordoned off for us with a ramp in place for wheelchair user access, along with service dogs allowed to join the party. The whole evening was absolutely brilliant, the staff were very welcoming and friendly and all meals were served exactly to order and all 33 of us ate at the same time. Give yourselves a great big pat on the back Phantom Winger, you really did tick every box on the night and we could not fault anything. Hannah was absolutely amazing and ensured everything ran to perfection. Please do not hesitate to book this venue, the food was fantastic and the service is even more so. The propeieters should be very proud of this establishment and the staff working very hard to give a great customer experience!! Thank you!

This was a good safe soft play area to take our toddler granddaughter on a rainy day. The food isn't great but the kids love it, and the staff are very friendly and efficient.

I was very disappointed with my choice of steak pie 🥧 when l cut into it gravy no meat pastry hard .

This is the second time in a week that I've been here.. The first was with the lads from work for a breakfast which we was told a 30mins waiting time... An hour later and our breakfast came (tasteless and bland) and we weren't the only one waiting that long, Second time... We ordered all 3 wings and things and all 3 of them were dripping in oil ( I know you have to fry them but try and soak up some of the oil) and what can I say about the chicken nuggets... These are like the ones McDonald's use to sell 15 years ago( no flavour or chicken) Then we get to the main... 8oz smothered steak sizzler, well it didn't come over sizzling , the steak was as tough as old boots which I took home for the dog, peppercorn sauce as never seen a peppercorn, the bed of peppers and onions didn't seem fresh (most probably frozen) and if that's a large portion of chips I hate to see a small. I did like the peas. SOMETHING MUST OF CHANGED HERE BECAUSE THE FOOD AND SERVICE USED TO BE GOOD

As a party of 14 booked in well before Christmas for tonight for my brothers 30th birthday we will not be returning . To start with when we first entered we waited at the table to be seated, we were stood there for a good 10 minutes when me and another of the party decided to go and ask at the bar but after taking a few steps to the bar a lady walked over and quite rudely said you have to wait here . I explained we had been waiting for 10 minutes in full view of the bar and staff behind it, the bar wasn't busy so no reason as to why nobody came over. After being shown to our table by another lady who was very friendly we decided to order. As a large party we write down on our phone the order and pass it over to the person behind the till. Once ordered we got told that there was an hour delay on food how I don't know as it wasn't particularly busy but OK we will just catch up with family who we haven't seen over the Xmas period. Food comes out and my mums meal was not there and when asked the man who was serving us said " we will get one done for you and you wont be charged for it " my brothers extra gravy was missing for his food , by the time my mums food came out and my brothers gravy everybody had finished there food therefore my mum felt under pressure and diddnt feel like she could eat it. My chips were cold and tasteless the chicken was ok but I wouldn't order again and my brothers gravy never got used as he had eaten his food by the time.when my dad went up to the bar to order other drinks he was then charged for the food that we had been told that we wernt going to be charged for , When the lady that had ignored us when we entered came over to get the plates I questioned why my dad had been charged she was very rude and said well I don't know I will check for you and when I went to show her the recipt etc she just walked of. I also noticed when up at the bar the lady behind the bar who was the one who ignored us was very rude and very ignorant to other people she was serving aswell. I will 100% not be returning and neither will any of our party. Rude staff that shouldn't be in a customer service role and food that was cold and late. Very disappointed.
