We were able to cancel the holiday as quick as requested but are now waiting for the refund.

Had an excellent festive meal & quiz just before Christmas. Didn’t do very well at the quiz, though the food was excellent along with the service.

Really good food as norm , but still each time I've visited always 1 item missing from the plate as off the advertised items with it , Even tho the kitchen staff have photos off the dishes to know what goes on each dish

I had to wait ages after sending my steak back as well looked like it jumped off a field it was that bloody the waitress took it back she was nice and then I had to wait ages for it to get another one everyone else had eaten there's the nice male waiter said we could get a refund so that was good I asked this waitress and wow she was so miserable like she didn't wanna be there and to be honest spoke to us like dirt and very arrogantly I wouldn't go back because of her all the rest and even the manager who sorted the refund out in the end was lovely she was not unfortunately

Booked for Christmas lunch. Warmly greeted by Chis the Manager. Both the food and service were excellent. Liked the way the layout and booking system meant the dining area was spacious and comfortable. All the staff were very attentive,friendly,polite and looked happy to be working on Christmas Day. It is what it is...can't give it 5 stars because that would be disingenuous...but there's nothing wrong with it. Food is fine and not expensive but there's only so much "soul" a chain pub can have

Friendly and attentive staff, nice menu with a surprisingly wide variety of options but reasonably priced. Had a great time with the family on boxing day (love the Christmas decorations!) Would recommend!

Had boxing day lunch here today, can honestly say wow !!! The staff were amazing, little gifts left out for the kids. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. The food to top it off was amazing and plentiful, orders were changed and altered at the last minute with no issues from staff, the manager on shift was great when asked for anything nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be coming again!!! Thanks again phantom winger, and merry Christmas to you all !!!!

We booked a family meal, 3 courses from their festive menu. There were 6 of us dining, We arrived to a stunning table all set up with table runner, crackers and wine glasses with napkins in, wow what great food, we couldn't fault any course. The staff were all brilliant and I can certainly recommend you book there for next year's festive dining. To the Phantom Winger can you thank the team that were on this afternoon as they were all brilliant. Thanks Brian (my little lad loved the big ice cream but his eyes were definitely bigger than his belly lol)

Booked for a Christmas lunch, pre-ordering from the Christmas menu. On the morning of the meal we had a phone call to say the gluten free salmon wasn't available, the only other gluten free option available was the steak. At the meal neither of the steaks were very tender. We did get our drinks on the house as compensation for the lack of salmon but overall we were disappointed.

he staff who served us was very nice, and went above and beyond to look for chocolate for my cappuccino, eventually found a flake and used that as sprinkles. The whole experience from start to finish was outstanding, and the food was cooked to expectations. Would highly recommend.

I regularly visit this pub with a group of friends. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and they deal quickly and efficiently with any issues. The food is good value, decent quality 'pub grub', in particular very filling breakfast offerings. Most of us in the group are usually driving, so we stick to the non-alcoholic beverages, which are reasonable priced for a pub. Teas and coffees are generally cheaper than big chain coffee shops and just as good. The pub itself is spacious with a good sized free car park (just make sure to enter your reg on the machine at the bar if you are stopping more than four hours), and is conveniently located close to M6 J32 / M55 J1.

I can only say . The food came . It was edible. A traditional Turkey dinner. The food was cold completely void of heat , warmth . Although edible it was COLD and the plate it came on was FREEZING. I would have complained but what's the point. Normal Service across the Whole of the Hungry Horse empire. I should have known better than to go .

Visited on a Saturday night with a large group of family. Staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. Menu is extensive with lots of choices for all dietary requirements. 3 of us had the vegan mushroom and ale pie and it was absolutely delicious. I would definitely recommend and would go back and order it again. Fantastic! Compliments to the chef!

I had been on a day out with my 74 year old mother and we decided to have a meal at the Phantom Winger instead of cooking. My mother lives nearby, so we have been fairly regularly and know that the food is decent at a reasonable price. I personally like them as I've had steak at no end of pubs and most seem unable to cook a proper medium rare. Not so at the Winger. Staff are always polite and helpful. Makes for an enjoyable experience.

Always enjoy coming to the Phantom Winger for a lunch or dinner. The food is nice and very reasonably priced, with lots of options to chose from on the menu. The staff are always really lovely, polite and helpful. They go out of their way to ensure you are enjoy your meal. 99% of the time I come with my 3y/o daughter and she loves it. There is the indoor and outdoor play area and also some of the booths have childrens programs on the tv screens.. as well as this they also have colouring sheets and crayons. It’s a perfect place to bring my little one when we want to go out for food. They also accept bluelight card. Will continue to come back and support my local hungry horse.

Fantastic staff who are lovely and very helpful. Food always really good and menu has lots of great different choices to choose from. I like how they have music on in the bar as it makes a nice relaxed atmosphere. There is a great kids menu too, my son always finds something he can eat. We love coming to this pub.

Popped in for a quick lunch today, lovely team with friendly service. Food was fast and fresh. I ordered a mixed grill, I’m a bit awkward who likes it rare but blue, chef did it no problem. 10/01/24 SUNDAY Came for what was meant to be a nice breakfast out - what a terrible experience! Where do I start? Firstly, We ordered at 11:45am and waited till 12:15pm for our breakfasts to come to the table - don’t get me wrong, I know sometimes there can be a wait however, it wasn’t even busy? Secondly, our breakfasts were stone cold, my waffles could have broken my teeth they were THAT hard! My berries were swimming in liquid, my bacon was stone cold too… We asked for this to be re-made as no one wants to eat cold, hard food. Our breakfasts then came out wrong, missing bacon, missing a black pudding that my partner had paid extra for. In a nutshell, if you’re wanting a nice breakfast don’t come here, it was a disaster from the moment we walked in! To the point where I feel the chefs may have been out the night before and been a little worse for wear. Will not be coming back & would also leave 0 stars if I could!

Hate leaving negative feedback however we have been here several times as it's such a lovely pub and convenient for us. Each time we say let's give it another try but each time the food is just dreadful. Both me and my partner come away with upset tummys. Multiple times I've noticed the mash to be like playdough and the veg an off colour like grey. It's such a shame as the place it's self is lovely and the staff are pleasant. Unfortunately I think we will not be returning here again as we are yet to have a meal as good as the first time we visited a few years ago.

Called in here as it’s a half way halt for me and a chum from the Lakes. We had an excellent bacon sandwich and large coffee. Spent a pleasant hour or more Will certainly be back- just the job

We visited on a busy Saturday night first taking the kids to Wacky warehouse which is always lots of fun. We then went to the restaurant staff are always very friendly and helpful. The food was hot and delicious although it did take a bit longer than expected the staff were very apologetic (big shout out to Chris) and kept us updated on timeframe. Overall a great dining experience and we will be sure to return.

We visited tonight with family and friends. Firstly we went into the wacky warehouse. We where pleasantly surprised it was free to enter as it was the wackys anniversary special weekend. The wacky staff where lovely and helpful, and the play area was clean and tidy. After an hour we went into the pub/bar area , we couldn't find a table to fit our party. The staff where excellent and soon found us a suitable place to sit. The manager Chris was especially attentive and friendly and made sure everything we needed was taken care of. We ordered food for 8 people including 3 children , everything came on time and as described on the menu. We had a lovely evening and will definitely return again soon. Thank you Chris and team!

We don't visit Preston often even though we are not far away. Visited for a quick lunch with friends. Was seated straight away. A big thankyou to Ben who was very friendly, chatty and polite. Gave good recommendations on the food and drinks and nothing was too much trouble. Will be returning again.

Very disappointed with the tandoori chicken sizzler as only got 2 small pieces of chicken we didn’t even get all the dips that came with it. Just received dessert I had the mini millionaire brownie and my granddaughter had same but hers came with ice cream I paid £3.99 and hers was £2.48. Beware of being conned here

Possibly the worst hungry horse I've been to. The I could tell the food was literally put in the microwave with how quickly got it and how unbelievably hot it was, it was also very bland. It was so bad I left half of it. Staff was scarce

Reserved 30 seats . Ordered 30 meals .Recieved 28 meals . Forgot 2 orders .Shocking service. Took 15 minutes at the bar ordering drinks because there was only 2 bar staff to serve over 100 people in the pub . Will never go to this place again. Gone so far down hill it's sinking. Luckily enough they didn't lose the birthday cake.

We booked a table for 12 people for my son’s birthday, there was a 25 minute period between main meals coming out so some of us had eaten before the other meals came from the kitchen. Most of the meals weren’t eaten as were inedible. Some meals were cold on delivery to the table, steaks were tough and full of fat, burgers were like cardboard and well just awful. No apologise from management. We never return and will not recommend this place to anyone. I personally run a pub/eatery and I can’t believe that a place like this is even in business. Vile

Absolutely ridiculous place, from the customer service to the food. It’s a joke. We booked a table for my partners birthday and all ordered separately but had asked for all meals to come out together at the same time and we had been told that was possible. If they had said no we’d have ordered together, simple. From the first main meal coming out to the last there was an hour between and the 2 children get theirs, first 30 minutes after the first adult meal and the second 45 minutes after. The food was cold, some inedible and some not even lukewarm and stale like it had been sat on the side for half an hour before it was served. When confronting the staff we just kept getting told it won’t be long and that it’s being cooked now. When speaking to the manager he seeming not to care and barely even apologising. Avoid at all costs.

This evening we booked a table for ten to celebrate a birthday, the service was probably the worst I have ever encountered. The meals ordered came out cold, and very sporadic, we requested that they all came together, but in reality they was over a 40 minute from the first to the last meal, this total ruined the occasion,the staff appeared that they don't care when challenged the said we are getting it out as we can, this place should be avoided poor service poor food is substandard cold, basically the food is inedible. I would highly recommend that you don't go to this place.

Wow! The atmosphere in this pub was amazing! We got chatting to a gentleman called Chris, very knowledgeable! We stopped for a bite to eat before going back home while we have been out and about. This wasn’t our last time visiting

New menu was recently launched and I tried the Kofta and flat bread with sweet potatoes fries and salad. Thoroughly enjoyed it; well presented, great taste and I cleared the dish. In summary, great food, friendly staff and excellent service. Thank you.
