terrible will never use again went fir fish and chips no fish only been open 20 mins fishcake you can buy from Asda 3.25 it was aswell. Chip butty got more chips in a macdonalds happy meal and rubbery too

If I could have given 0 stars I would have. Absolutely disgusting. If I could have I would have taken them back and demanded a refund. Over cooked, greasy more so called batter than fish and no taste. Apart from saying DO NOT USE not much else I can say

I had a very nice portion of fish and chips again here. I don't understand the earlier reviews. Perhaps it is because the batter is darker than the "norm" but it is not burnt and the fish and chips (hand cut, I think) were tasty and perfectly cooked. And yes the staff are young (we all were once!) but are hard working and care about what they are doing. On the minus side, I do find it strange that they never have mushy peas. A chippy without mushy peas is like "a pub with no beer" in my view!

Overpriced and burned. Two very young girls serving and cooking two very overcooked fish, never seen or tasted batter like it. Really disappointing. Large chips was small portion and had no mushy peas. If we lived in Milnthorpe would have taken them back for a refund.

Fish were so greasy that when we removed them from the container there was a pool of grease in the bottom. Chips good but cold. Owner was very pleasant

Chippy without chips! Saturday evening, and we called in for fish and chips. To be told their chipper wasn't working and we would have to wait. This was fine as it was no fault of theirs. We finally received our tea and took it home. It wasn't worth the wait. Soggy chops, hard batter, and dry fish. We'll try somewhere else next time.

Absolutely awful chips. The chip shop had only just opened for the evening and we were one of the first to be served HOWEVER the chips were soggy and many were a black colour. They tasted of old fat. I will never go there again. This chip shop used to have a good reputation. What went wrong!

Ordered food for delivery. Ordered a drink- no drink delivered. Ordered tomato sauce- delivered some spicy brown sauce. Chips burnt and food cold. Will not be ordering again.

Payed way over the odds for very few burnt chips and a lukewarm pie. Really disappointed and this isn’t the first time! Won’t be going back anytime soon.

We were recommended this chippy, but would not recommned it to my worst enemy. Chips where anaemic and inedible and batter on the fish was soggy, and the fish was tasteless. Worst fish and chips ever. Do not waste your money.

Used to be brilliant chippy. Not now. Fish dreadful, all batter and oily peas half water. Was a regular customer but not any more. Such a shame.

Called in while on holiday in the area, very busy which is a good sign. As it's busy you have to wait outside, no problem, although you cant watch your order being packed. Ordered 3 Fish and chips and 3 portions of chips, charged for all this (bit steep but we were on holiday), order came in 2 large boxes and 3 smaller boxes so you think the 3 fish and chips are in the bigger boxes and the 3 chips in the smaller boxes, it's not till you get all the way back to where you're staying and open the boxes you discover, that yes the 3 small boxes do indeed contain the chips, but the 2 large boxes, just have 3 fish in them!! Great, 3 fish and chips between 7 of us! And £36 for the privilege! With the price of petrol and distance to go back it wasnt worth it. Fish and chips were nice, especially the very few chips I got, but make sure you've got everything before you leave!

Iv used this fish & chip shop over the last six months on a regular basis but won’t be revisiting not sure what’s happened I visited again as normal brought 2 fish & chips plus a couple of drinks £22 not cheap but that’s not an issue but the fish were shocking all batter hardly any fish just all batter and tasteless

Stopped for first time a couple of months ago and been back almost weekly since. Fish and chips very good, fresh and gerius portions. Especially the fish. Prices not bad.

Called in as recently re-opened and like you do fancied fish n chips. Very efficient service. Staff all busy working, some doing telephone orders some keeping up with drop in visitors. Nice to see young people working so well together. Gf available on fish and chips. Short wait as to be expected with fresh cooked . Fish and chips were excellent. Good batter favourite kind of chips superb fish . Partner had very nice curry sauce to dip her chips in . Sat in front of the church in nearly sunshine . It was a lovely start to the weekend. Presented very nicely in a cardboard box . I think it's now called main Street chip shop. Easy and welcome 5 stars , shall be visiting again 😁

First time visiting Main Street Chippy. Expensive, small portions given when paid for large and batter on fish quite chewy, not crispy at all. Curry sauce was nice though. Phoned up to explain that I was disappointed with my order and the lady was apologetic and did offer an extra free meal if we do go back. Wasn't able to travel back there this evening due to the children being tired and hungry.

Visited the chippy tonight for the first time best fish and chips I’ve tasted yet ! staff very friendly and welcoming and there homemade tartar sauce was beautiful

Visited chippy tonight. What excellent value for the price. Everything cooked to perfection, served by pleasant friendly staff. I have holiday home in Beetham and due to restrictions it is only my 3rd visit this year, when I discovered that the chippy was now owned by George & Ann, who previously ran the Kings Arms I knew the food Would be good and I was certainly not disappointed. Keep on supplying this quality of food. I will certainly pass the word around our holiday park.

Refused delivery because the new owners dont like me or my family! Absolutely disgusting custom is custom, leave your personal problems at home and dont fetch it to work... if your going to own a business you need to learn how to manage one and to not bring your personal life to work unless it happens in the workplace, not only refused delivery too.. but spoke to very rudely on the phone when realised who I was!

Had haddock from here and it was absolutely lovely! Freshly cooked and light and fluffy. Did miss out a sausage but will forgive them as rest of meal was great
