Not good food at all better off going to macdonalds up the road. Very quiet dirty floors, car park is filthy with rubbish everywhere, staff pleasant enough though.

Thai curry was great. Smooth service even though they were understaffed. Thanks for a good night! Steph was very helpful

It's been a year since I've last been. Food and service has really gone down hill. Food rather dry rationed amount of sauces on smothered chicken it's hardly smothered now. Spicy chicken burgers has limited amount of sauce. Glad I won't be back.

Want to give a massive thankyou to the members of staff that were on yesterday evening 28th May, we were passing through on our way back home after delivering a vehicle and stopped at a few places to eat with a tired 4 year old who all turned us away, wasn't holding much hope when we visited here but they got us in and the service was amazing, each member of staff were super friendly, made a effort to talk to our daughter and made us feel super welcome, it was late by the time we got there and the last thing they probably wanted to do was serve us, but the food was hot, tasty and arrived super quick! So again thankyou girls for a pleasant meal, you are all a credit to the company and I hope this message gets passed on! Arabella didn't stop talking about how nice the ladies were.

Food was decent enough but in a pretty empty pub, getting in when it opened for lunch, 2 hours seemed longer than it should for 2 courses X3 and kids meal x2. Not sure I'll bother again with other options available in Kendal

Lousy experience. Food was substandard. Felt really sorry for the lady who was having to take orders, serve on the bar and be waitress too. Kitchen staff need training if they can’t even deliver a Sunday roast. Another table complained as they’d waited ages for food and their meal was delivered cold and with parts of it missing . Would never return.

Great food and service by Hazel, Rose and Megan! Breakfast was also great the next morning. Will come back to this restaurant.

Friendly staff - but.......... wet sticky tables and dirty floors. I think the cleaners were on holiday, no excuse when it was early afternoon. Felt like an empty weatherspoons.

Booked a table for 6 pm for family fairly quite got drinks and starters fairly quick then sat waiting for our mains couple at side of us ordered same time they got there meal and had eaten it still no mains asked staff it took well over 1 hour to get our meal spent well over £80 never again !!!!

Went to this place for the very first time with the family after having a statutory wedding across the road. Although the booking for tables are online and easy to follow, when upon arriving, the menus had a lot of variety of food for good pricing. Everyone seemed to have enjoyed going to Wakefield and I would probably dine in more often. Food was fantastically cooked. Staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. I loved the chicken breast and ribs combo.

Great place to eat in Kendal ,we visited twice,and the food was really tasty. The staff are very friendly and helpful The prices are very cheap ,but if you go before 6pm it was even cheaper. Definitely will go back next time we are in kendal

Food and drinks were fine, staff friendly and attentive when bringing our meals and drinks, however, on the day we visited, it felt like the place needed a deep clean - carpets in dining area badly stained and crusty food on feet of the (wobbly) table. Toilets were is a real state, with tissue, carrier bags and crud everywhere. Not want to use it myself, let alone take children to use facilities. Response on informing manager was they regularly get trashed and will look at it when another staff member comes on duty in a bit. The view from our table was of the back of a work van, reversed right up to the window, so not the nicest atmosphere for diners.

The staff are all really friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, the food was poor quality, and 2 items were missing from the mixed grill. It's also not cheap for the standard of food.

We stayed at the Premier Inn next door to the Wakefield Arms. We were in the Wakefield Arms on Saturday night for some drinks. Lovely place to chill & have a few drinks. The lady behind the bar (Hazel) was lovely & was very helpful.

Lovely staff. Stayed next door at Premier Inn. We ate both days. The sirloin steak was beautiful. Second night our order hadn't gone through properly and the wait was longer. We hadn't really noticed but without any todo we were offered free desserts or starters. First night there were a group of diners who had special needs. It seemed they had been there before. The staff were brilliant with them. Definitely recommend. Thank you to all the staff.

Staying at the ajoining Premier Inn and had a meal here one night. The waitressing staff, Hazel and Jade were very friendly, chatty and happy to recommend their favorite dishes on the menu. I had the fish and chips and sticky toffee pudding which were both lovely. Very pleasent experience. Thank you

Dinner: Service slow, staff seemed overstretched. Got my order wrong. Breakfast: buffet style continental was ok, but hot food dried out and hard eggs. Put off by a big rat running along the outside window sill of the restaurant.

Went for Christmas dinner with the family. Absolutely brilliant from start to finish. The staff were very helpful and happy. The food was well presented, excellent portions, and the meat was cooked to perfection. I would definitely recommend this pub/restaurant to anyone.

On booking no-one informed my daughter that it was Festive Menu only. Fondue starter was completely tasteless, patè was extremely small and unappetising. Fish main option choice was unavailable, everything was dry from being either reheated or left too long under heat lamp. Xmas pudding desert was disgusting, 2 mouthfuls and brandy sauce synthetic and tasteless.

The food was awful. Soup was lukewarm, main - I've had better ready meals, dessert was supposed to be black cherry compote and was frozen fruit - disgusting! Jade served us and was lovely though

Eaten at a lot of brewers fayre / whitbread / table table venues, and this one done the best food by a solid length. Crispy chips, perfectly juicy burger, generously cheesed up nachos... and some awesome c9cktails to accompany. (I recommend the father Christmas :) )

Though quiet took a long time to get the starter, then main, when main arrived not as described in menu, but gave up on mentioning it as took so long to arrive in the first place.

Went for breakfast, and it was god awful. The coffee was cold and the milk for the cereal was hotter than the sausages and bacon and as for the fried eggs, you could have used them as Frisbees.

Ok, I wasn't expecting much and after a long day of driving we would have been pretty happy with anything. And this might have been ok if it had been served just after it was cooked, but all the meals looked like they'd been left on a warming plate for 20 minutes everything had dried out; which figured with the epically long time we had to wait between ordering the food and it being served. My husband said his coleslaw tasted like sick and was generally unimpressed. The kids mostly ate the baked beans and poked at the pretty tasteless Mac and cheese, a dish they'd usually wolf down. The waitress was lovely but there probably needed to be more servers, to let the food have a chance at being acceptable. The price was ridiculously cheap £37 for a family of 4. Most of the tables were empty at 7:30pm on a Friday probably a warning sign that it wasn't going to be great. The table next to ours left telling the waitress that their food was lovely, wonder what they had? Take your money to the high street and get something better. Sadly I've pre-booked breakfast for tomorrow let's hope they are better at that...

Without doubt the worst roast dinner I have ever had. Luke warm roast potatoes, overcooked charred parsnips, undercooked carrots, luke warm vegetable mash, chewy meat and watery gravy.
