Visited the cafe for a quick lunch. I expected it to be more expensive than it was, instead it was quite reasonable. Just some tomato soup and fries. Soup arrived with 3 generous slices of thick bread and 2 small butter parcels. The little one had fish fingers and fries. Soup was excellent, well seasoned albeit a tad too much sugar for me but delicious regardless. Fries were some of the best I've had in a cafe.

Nice store with friendly helpful staff. Great shopping experience. I love Booths as they stock items that are not available in other shops. Artisan breads that are fresh, tasty and good value. Great selection of cheese, deli items and fresh fruits and vegetables. Lovely cakes and biscuits, with a lot of local produce stocked.

Booths in Kendal is a large supermarket, up market, i would say charging more than Waitrose equivalent and it doesn’t wven have a customer toilet. “Go to Pizza Express’ was the staff advice as if Pizza Express has a duty to provide Booths customers with a facility. I’d say M& S is way better value for meat and fish and items like bread products you are paying double Aldi for no better quality, worse quality for wraps. £2 for 6 which didnt look great where i think Aldi are 8 for 80p. I probably overpaid 20-30% for a £100 shop. The pizza selection was also very poor.

Great cafe. Friendly helpful staff in the main. Have been going for years and always enjoy their coffee and bacon barms. An asset to the town where unfortunately many shops seem to be closing

Pleasant large spacious cafe found underneath the main supermarket, I've walked past many times and never used, however quite surprised on the value for money, and choice of dishes, have enjoyed several lunches now of an afternoon with my wife, just simple, value for money food, nothing special, with clean pleasant surrounding and staff for a quick bite 😀

Have to pay and display to park here but if you take you are shopping in Booths they give you the money back. EV chargers are in the underground car park below

We had a delicious Latte and Bacon Sandwich in the Café, the service was excellent and the atmosphere lovely.

Helpful staff fifty percent of the time. The rest of the time your are better asking help from a banana. It's more polite.

Booths always has more than you expect. So many different varieties of foods. They are also likely to stock the unusual ingredients which are often hard to find elsewhere. Lovely staff too.

Very disappointed that fish/chips taken off menu and full breakfast finishing at 11.30 they were the best sellers.Would also like to know why I am charged 15p extra for milk in my americano coffee at £3.15 whilst my husbands black coffee is £3 both same size

Just love booths, just a little bit more special than Waitrose. I don’t have one near me so when up north I always pop to one to stock up on bits I cannot get at home. The beer and wine selections are exceptional, and so is the cheese 🤣

Nice selection of foodstuffs, ans lovely friendlt cafe

First class... it wasn't busy today, but by no means slack, the food as always was excellent, and nice and hot. I am sure that the fish and chips that I had would rival any restaurant, beautiful and fresh, crispy batter and not greasy. Portion size was good too, what I call a 'tide in' size fish. I would reccomend Booth's every time - I will be visiting again soon.

Always enjoyed meals at cafe but really upset that Fish and chips has been withdrawn from menu and you won’t be able to get Sausage/Bacon rolls after 11.30

Great little cafe for a cheap and quick full English breakfast. Lots of free space, and the only downside is the servers are a little slow making coffee.

This was the first time I have had a meal here for ages, and I was very pleasantly surprised. We ordered a full English breakfast, and although it was moderately busy the food arrived within about 10/15 mins. At £6.00 the meal was very good value. I found the portion quite generous (though not overpowering) the ingredients seemed good quality and everything was appetising and nicely cooked. The breakfast tasted quite fresh and not over oily, as some fry up's can be. It's not the most intimate of spaces, but the atmosphere was relaxed and staff seemed friendly. I will definitely be going there again soon.

Excellent example of what a supermarket should be - quality produce, good staff, fair prices. Interestingly, this is one of their branches that are removing self-service tills, as the company has cottoned on to the fact that most of their customers prefer to be served by a human.

Really like the cafe here. Always make a point of calling in when in Kendal.

Expensive but good. The breakfasts are really good value for money. Staff are always kind. No self service which is fantastic, nice to talk to people rather than a machine. Unibomber would be proud.

I’m sorry to say I won’t return here for anything to eat x drink . There was quite a que , my friend and I were served and went to our table waiting for hot food . My friend got hers thrown on the table - though she did say her bacon sarni was good . We must have been in the cafe well over half an hour and my sarni didn’t turn up even though my friend went to the counter and asked if it was in its way . So eventually I asked for a refund on my way out of the cafe . Some staff were not interested in helping solve our problem .

Having read previous reviews l think we must have gone on a bad day Nice surroundings Staff the girl who brought our food needs some customer training input, the plates were “place” on our table, both me and the wife said thank you, l didn’t hear a response at all, the waitress just walked off, no enquiry if she could help in any other way, The wife had fish pie she said it was good I had what was alleged to be shepherds pie, more like slush, the potatoes reminded me of that stuff we used to get called smash. On reflection l now wish l had complained and returned it, the lamb mince was grisly and everything was swamped in gravy almost could have drunk it with a large straw The vegetables were cool Both mains were extremely hot too hot to eat at the time of serving no idea why they were so hot and veg cool

The North 's answer to Tesco's or Sainsbury's. I was pleased to find a great selection of products, although disappointed at the lack of gluten & lactose free products.

A very well laid out store with plenty of space between the aisles. Lots of high quality produce on the shelves and Importantly there was a real focus on produce grown and reared locally. The in-store statement promoting locally sourced products was absolutely spot on. Found the items we required and went to the till which was free for use. The assistant was friendly and polite. The service from the staff was extremely fast and efficient.

Great supermarket with some very nice, interesting ingredients to inspire trying new dishes to make. Sometimes the checkout staff are a little surly!

Well stocked supermarket with a fabulous cheese counter. The selection of produce is superior to competitors and they carry many unusual, more premium brands. There is no customer toilet and they seem to sell plastic bags; I would’ve much preferred to buy a reusable bag.

Had the complete Christmas meal for the whole family, great value for 8 people. Loved shopping there, staff super-friendly.

5 star review based on the friendliness of the staff, I've visited several times when I'm in Kendal and they are unfailingly approachable, professional, and yet personable too. On Christmas Eve I was served by Julie, she was decked out for the day in tinsel and sparkly eye makeup that she told me she'd applied in the dark 😁 She was brilliant, she made my day, it will be a sad day if she retires.

Great selection of goodies, especially the bottled beer selection from local breweries. If you are lucky there may be some marked down items to tempt you. There is a fabulous selection of other food items which include fish, meat, vegetables,bread and other shelf items. There is also a very good cafe downstairs, which can be accessed via the lift .

Visited 22nd December 23 Not selling westmoreland sausage or black pudding because the staff say it is not festive

Same as All the booths stores something a bit different from the norm shop ,has parking and disability parking 2 floors however there is a lift so no problems accessing both floors enjoy

Loved it. Pleasant, polite staff, great produce and a positive shopping experience. Our go to shop for that something different/special.

Use this cafe quite often as the service is usually very good the staff are friendly & helpful. I am impressed how quickly the tables are cleared & cleaned after use The food is good today I had a bacon bun & husband had a sausage bun both very tasty & nicely cooked we also shared a delicious chocolate brownie

The Waitrose of Cumbria (they have no Waitrose!). Medium sized upmarket supermarket, as you would expect the staff are very attentive / pleasant and the food is of high quality. Parking outside is difficult and getting to and from the main road is not easy.

The shop was worth it, after the sat nav took us on the one way system though.

We bought three sticky toffee puddings on Mon Oct 16th. Nothing exactly wrong with them, but they were very expensive, and quite disappointing. Dry and not enough sauce were the main problems. The ones at ASDA, Tesco, Aldi and Lidl are far nicer, and of course about one third of the price. Won't bother going to Booths again.

Charge for parking and then can’t be bothered to fix massive potholes in carpark. Would have exposed more from the place

We've always had really nice meals at kendal called in today me and my husband both went for the fish and chips. The batter was soggy and undercooked I left most of mine as I was worried the fish hadn't been thoroughly cooked. Last time we went the service was brilliant but unfortunately not today

Booths makes Waitrose look like Heron foods.

My friend and I popped into Kendal to do some shopping and had breakfast here at Booths Cafe. The breakfast was absolutely beautiful, extremely reasonable, and the service was brilliant. We will definitely be coming here again. Thank you.

Booths is a good shop, lovely cooked roast ham but cooked topside beef was gristly today.yesterdays was nice. Also if you didn't know, booths have a parcel drop off locker which is good. Lovely selection of cheeses. Also after refurb no more self checkout which were speedy and handy.

You have to spend £10 to get any money back on your parking. Large store, well stocked.

Having shopped here many times on our visit to the area, we decided to give the café a go for breakfast. Very mediocre at best. Nothing to shout about. Wouldn't be high on the list to return.

Everything as it should be for a centre of town outlet

I love the Booths chain of supermarkets. It’s good quality food, i love that lots of items are locally sourced in Lancashire, Cumbria & Yorkshire. This store is centrally located for Kendal town centre & has a 2 level car park (great underground parking for hot days or anyone with dogs).

Shop is always well stocked with staff friendly and able to help whenever needed. Cafe can get very busy sometimes but food served was very nice (wait was acceptable as well)

We'd never tried Booths before as we assumed it would too expensive. My wife and I tried the Kendal store last weekend and were pleasantly surprised. We wouldn't do our weekly shop here but there's plenty of great value items to be had, particularly fresh produce.

Great place to shop. There's a cafe and covered car park beneath which can both be accessed via stairs or lift from the shop above and vice versa. Customer toilets also available.

A very pleasant café in the town centre but off the main street. Food is well cooked and presented. Toilets are spotless. Highly recommended for families as there is plenty of space.
