No volveremos a visitarlo.

We were a bit unsure and worried about booking here after reading some of the very negative reviews, but we needn't have been. Its a great little place. Conveniently situated, adjacent to the Empire Theatre. We chose to have the set 'offer' menu at £12.95 for two courses. It was great value, (I think we saved about £5 each by ordering from the set menu). We booked the table online and paid in advance and collected the tickets at the box office. The service was friendly, quick and very efficient. The food we had, came nicely presented, was hot and very tasty. Highly recommended.

Visited with friend before seeing a 7.30 show. Bistro not busy, only few tables full. Staff very friendly and good service. Nothing wrong with the food, but nothing standout great. Had halloumi to start and pulled pork burgers for main. Menu differed to the one on the website which is always annoying. Nice choice tho. I would visit again because of the convenience of being in the Empire. Only criticism is price of drinks which I am assuming are so expensive to keep in line with the other bars in the theatre. It advertised an offer of buy two glasses of wine and get the bottle free - this worked out at £19.20 when we asked the waitress which white wine was included. Paid £7 for medium glass and £8 something for large glass of Pinot Grigio. The drink prices mean that this bistro does not offer a reasonable pre theatre meal like so many other places do.

I reserved a table by phone for the 2 course pre theatre menu on Friday 19 August. There were 4 in our group and we arrived at 6pm for the 7.30 show. We had a very long wait for our meals and although the front of house staff were friendly and apologetic it was clear that they were struggling to cope with the number of customers. We ended up with a shared platter starter for 2 and then another long wait for 3 pizzas and a trio of mini burgers. There was no time for the 2 desserts we would have ordered as the show was due to begin. When we asked why the service had been so slow we were told that they had received a lot moret internet bookings than had been expected. We booked our meal at the theatre as we thought it would be more convenient and less rushed. We obviously won're be doing that again!

We booked a table for a pre-show meal before seeing Jackie the Musical and had a leisurely meal with a bottle of wine, a much better arrangement than eating elsewhere and then dashing to the theatre. Starters were Tomato and Basil soup with ciabatta bread and halloumi, flat bread and salad. Mains were butternut squash curry with sticky rice and cheese burger with chips and salad. Food was tasty and filling. Atmosphere was good, the staff very friendly and overall a good experience to be repeated when booking a show at this theatre,

Although the food was well cooked, we found the choice and quality was not as good as it was before. There are no choice for the older palate or the people who like plain cooking . My advice is bring back the Scouse.

Went with friends for pre theatre evening meal. Happened to coincide with ATG Theatre Card holder half price meals. For the items we had (starter and main meal), the price for the set menu £12.99 was not much different. I was relunctantly persuaded to have a shared platter which included chicken sticks. Unfortunately many of the other items included cheese from various animals all of which cause my taste buds to send a scud missile with a toxic warhead to my brain. I enjoyed the flatbread and the occasional olive and the chicken. The mains selection is quite limited and has liberal doses of cheese. I chose the beefburger minus the optional cheese. My wife had a salmon dish with noodles. Other dishes included a trio of burgers lots of cheese and pasta with chicken. Food was well presented, do not be put off by my taste buds, and staff were great. Prices are reasonable when you compare them to what is charged by other establishments with a sem-captive audience.

The Cafe Bistro was very clean and tidy and spacious with plenty of room between the tables. The staff were very attentive with an excellent attitude to the customers. On our visit before the show Annie it was particularly busy but the service was acceptable although not quick, maybe due to the fact that one dish ordered was Grilled salmon. The food was superb, but a little bit too spicy for grand daughter, the portions were very good. Facilities (washroom) were the best I have used in Liverpool, a credit to the staff. All in all a good experience, but book to be sure of your table.

We went last night 16/03/16 to see Guys & Dolls.Show should have commenced at 19.30 hours.Non of the paying guests could get in on time. The show eventually commenced at 19.50 hours. No announcement was made,no apologies,& at the interval they just left the stage we didn't even know how long the interval would last. No consideration given to the people who had paid to see the show. Comes over as a very unprofessionally run theatre.

My friend booked for us to see The Simon and Garfunkel Story. We arrived early giving us 1 1/2 hours before the performance to have a nice meal and a good catch up chat. Things started well, we were seated, offered a drink and after a short while our order from the two course £12.95 menu option taken. Our meals arrived, my choice of salmon was uncooked, our waitress was very helpful, took it back to the kitchen and promised another salmon. In the meantime my friend started eating her meal. My second meal arrived, an end part of this salmon was still uncooked yet the rest was very dry, so I ate the chips with a little of the chilli dip. We were informed there would be no charge for my meal. Had my replacement 'second' meal been OK I would have thought this fair and reasonable. It was now 5 mins before the show started and based on our level of disappointment we both believed this to be unreasonable, we explained our experience and left. All in all we were in the cafe ba for 1 1/2 hours and in that time we had one decent meal, two small diet cokes, two very poor meals, no second course and no further drinks. Clearly there are quality standardisation issues in the kitchen and potential loss of drinks sales at the bar. Having read some of the other reviews, it appears that we customers both local and visitors take a gamble when choosing to dine at the cafe ba, as the current pre theatre dinning experience can be hit or miss. Peoples hard earned nights out are too valuable to gamble with. Our city of Liverpool is working hard to be the best, come on Empire cafe ba, your letting the side down.

My friend and I booked to eat here before going to the theatre to see Jersey Boys. Our table was ready when we arrived and our drink's order was taken quickly. It kind of went down hill after that. It took ages for them to take our food order - there had a special pre theatre menu option. The food we had was really good and tasty. We had planned to have another drink and desert but having waited almost an hour we had to pay up and leave. Real shame as the food was good but the service just not good enough!

We phoned the number and reserved a table as we liked the menu as per the website for Autograph. When we arrived it was a completely different restaurant, owner and menu. It was more like a cafe. Not a great menu. It spoilt our evening at the Theatre. It's now called The Bistro. Don't bother going there. We felt conned as when we phoned I asked if it was The autograph, we were not told it had changed hands.

It's the best way to start your evening at the theatre.I've taken my grandad to have dinner before a show at the Empire and I've taken my 2 year old niece to have lunch before we visited the museum one afternoon. It accomodates all.. And the food, the service & the atmosphere means that I keep going back!I would recommend this to any theatre goers, you will not get better value for money anywhere else!

As we had a bit of a mishap with our travel arrangements on Saturday going to the Empire theatre to see the Full Monty we were then running late so had to find somewhere to eat rather quickly. This led us (myself and my girlfriend) looking to have a meal in the autograph café as it was the most convenient and sitting right in the theatre ideally suited for a quick bite. My my were we pleased that we settled on this charming little venue. It was exceptionally good in respects of the food and the service. I ordered the good old homemade scouse which was quite delicious and my girlfriend ordered a steak and onion sandwich which was also she informed me was delicious. The service was very good too and as I said it was a perfect antidote to our little dilemma and we were fed and watered quickly and efficaciously in good time for our show.

Visited with a friend last month. Greeted by a lovely waitress who was always happy to check up on us even though the place was evidently busy. I had the meatballs to start and my friend had the fish cake, both lovely, particularly the meatballs. For our mains we had the steak and the fish and chips respectively, the steak was absolutely gorgeous, as were the chips, which I was advised were homemade. The batter on the fish was (I am told!) crispy and golden, again this was homemade. Credit card machine seems to be up and running now for those complaining about it in the past, and the value of the food was great - £15 for two courses per person is wonderful given how much one would pay for such high quality food even within walking distance. The staff were all very friendly and I was told the chefs were delighted by our feedback, there seems to be lots of other happy customer too. Wouldn't hesitate to return!

The reason behind its name - Autograph Cafe soon became apparent .... There are signed photos of various stars on the walls. I wouldn't hesitate to call in here again. The main meals looked appetising too and reasonably priced so maybe next time I'll try a main meal too.

My sister and I visited Autograph for Afternoon Tea after receiving a voucher as a gift. Hopes of the typical English Afternoon Tea experience soon faded when we walked in. The service was non existent, we sat ourselves and waited 25 minutes before the waitress even acknowledged us. Albeit we were early but we still got ignored, much to our disappointment - it was like she only spoke to us when the clock hit 2.30pm (the time we were booked in). Then the food arrived. It was disastrous, minimal filings in the sandwiches, stale cakes all served on a wonky 2 tiered display. We took one bite from the sandwiches, gave the ladies our voucher and walked out.Not an enjoyable experience at all.

Second and rather disappointing. visit tonight. Service was very slow, we were in at 6.10. Main courses did not turn up until 7pm the show started at 7.30, Steak Pie, the meat was tough and salty, And since when has a medium rare rib eye steak turned into an overcooked sirloan/rump?. I didnt complain, as if they had cooked me another we would have missed the start of the show, was too hungry by then, especially having been served nasty cold french toast with the terrine starter. Ribe eye was billed in the menu as coming with onion rings, no onion rings, . I complained and was offered another portion of chips or a second soggy mushroom, I declned.!. And watch your bill, waitress hd entered wrong amount into portable card machine, 93 pounds instead of 50 pounds!, good job I spotted her mistake. Very sad iceing on a very sad piece of cake. Avoid!WE wont be going again.

Having never been before and not knowing any one who had we blind booked a table so I didn't have to rush home through the traffic and through all the visitors who had come to see the Giants on the Saturday. The menu was classic bistro fare and we went the whole hog and had the 3 courses. The food was excellent the service brilliant and and the timing of the service was exactitude to perfection. The price of the meal was spot on. This set us up for a great night. I would highly recommended it before a show but it's also a great little bolt whole to visit in the afternoon. It commenced with a lovely glass of Bucks Fizz followed by a super assortment of freshly cut sandwiches. Also on the tiered serving plate were 'still warm' large scones. We stayed at Crowne Plaza for a few days. Due to the crowds for the Queen Anne naming ceremony and a very long day, we decided to stay in to grab a light dinner. I had seen Gochujang wings on the both the bar menu and room service so was disappointed they were not available on the restaurant menu. However, the chef kindly offered to do them for me. Service was excellent. In fact, I'd say it could be scaled back a little as we were approached no fewer than 10 times during our meal and for some folks that could be overload. We enjoyed the warm sourdough, the Gochujang wings and a plaza burger. Good portion sizes and we were stuffed! The food is well-cooked. The burger could have been a little more tasty but no complaints in general.

Following on I visited today with only 8 friends and were served by equally lovely Jessica, her nature and attitude is very much appreciated and nothing is too much trouble. Firstly I’d like to say that the reviewer who posted last with an awful review, I was sat on number 2 near your table with my partner and baby and heard your witch hunt! You were rude to the bar man by clicking your fingers at him etc. We ordered our meals about the same time, I had steak the same as you, my partner SFC and both were delicious we left nothing on our plates. The pub wasn’t cold I’d even taken my coat off and the bar man was in a black short sleeved shirt! We eat at the Pear Tree often and everything is as it should be.
