Here’s a more polished version of your review while keeping the sentiment intact: --- We had heard so many great things about this place, so we made the two-hour drive, excited to enjoy a lovely lunch. The pub itself is fantastic, with a great atmosphere and wonderful staff who provided excellent service. Unfortunately, the food was a major letdown—overpriced, lacking in both luxury and flavor. We started with the soup of the day and the Jalapeño Crab Toast, but the soup was bland, and neither dish had any real impact. For mains, the fish pie (£24) was one of the most disappointing we've ever had—completely forgettable and lacking taste. The sandwiches were decent, but the chips (ordered separately) were overcooked, and we left half of them. With two soft drinks and two coffees, our total came to over £80, including the added service charge. I don’t enjoy leaving negative reviews, but as food lovers who travel specifically for these kinds of experiences, we felt seriously short-changed. This was not the standard we expected.

Absolutely amazing experience.. had been shopping nipped in for a quick pint to find the bar has been fully refurbished and taken over.. nipped home for the kids and what a treat we had… very reasonable prices for beautiful food and brilliant portions non of the food had a single fault we had 2 pizzas a fish and chips and a Turkish kebab with additional onion rings and loaded bolognase chips as sides WOW … all staff were lovely helpful polite and happy… the atmosphere was brilliant the owner came to greet us in the restaurant side of the bar didn’t want to rush us and was happy for the kids to enjoy the live band they had playing it was amazing start to finish we will definitely be back again .

We were given a voucher from our daughter for a meal at The Tankerville Arms. My husband and I haven't eaten here before, but we definitely will be again. The food was delicious, tender lamb shank on a bubble & squeak rosti and homemade burger, chunky chips and dips, followed by sticky toffee pudding. The service was excellent and very quick. The two female members of staff were pleasant, friendly and attentive. The pub has a lovely cosy, country feel to it, the log burner was roaring, to be honest I could've stayed there all night!

From the first step in the staff have been welcoming and polite . Tables are spotless . Restaurant area is clean and comfortable . They also have a very nice pub area where to sit in front of an open fire . The young waitress have great customer service skills . Cannot fault the place . We had an amazing meal with delicious home made potato skin alongside an Angus burger and a very generous portion of gammon steak. .it is clear that everything is home made . We will definitely come back . Highly recommended .
