This is the coffee shop with the loveliest staff ever! Everyone was friendly and helpful. Nothing was a bother and they even brought your order to your table with a lovely smile. Thank you

Friendliest of staff I’ve even encountered in a Costa. Its clean coffee tastes great and would strongly recommend it to everyone. Plenty of tables at the window for watching the world go by.

As regular users of the Costa chain, we called here for coffee whilst in Alnwick for the day. The building itself is poorly lit, especially the area at the back of the store, which gives it a gloomy, quite down at heel feel. The staff were pleasant enough but too focused on their mutual banter rather than delivering efficient customer service. Service was very slow and my “extra hot” flat white was served at a temperature that struggled to make tepid so had to be remade. Travelling the country with work, I sample many Costas, good and bad, and on this experience I’m afraid this one was mediocre.

Shout out to the young lad on shift today who was working really hard. Very friendly and professional.

The staff here are amazing. They are all new in last 6 months but could not be more friendly. Follow traditional Costa menu beautiful.coffees etc. I love this place !

Absolutely disgusting inside and out. Old building, dirty and very unfriendly staff. The man who served me clearly could not care less. My receipt says I was served by Jonathan, well if this is the case you my friend need retrained in customer service. And need to stop flirting with the barista who looked more like your sister than your girlfriend!!!

The store is conveniently located in the middle of the town which makes it easy to pop in for a drink / snack. However, the staff were simply ignorant. I went in on Monday & Wednesday this week - both days the same lady was making drinks. The lady at the till didn't say anything / greet us - just stared at us until we told her what we wanted. I ordered a medium caramel latte and watched the lady put an excessive amount of caramel in the drink - to the point it was too sweet to drink. The latte had no head on it and the milk wasn't throthed - just heated. The woman said nothing when the drink was ready - just put it down and turned around, I stood there for a minute, unsure if I could take it and she didn't even think to speak to me. Bearing in mind that the cafe was extremely quiet, it wouldn't have cost the employees much to operate basic customer service skills. A "hello" would've been nice. When we came back in on Wednesday, we also bought some food (see attached image). Satisfactory - didn't expect much from Costa but it looked as though they'd dropped half of the pasta out of the box.

We are currently on holiday but went into costa in Alnwick to get some takeaway drinks and nibbles - what AMAZING service by Mandy - such a lovely, kind person and so extremely helpful - thank you so much as amazing service and even though on holiday will definitely be back. For all the Costa’s I’ve been to, I’ve never had such great service so thank you, the service is normally good but Mandy was exceptional so thank you.

Great for drinks and snacks, our favourite cafe in the town, we went a few times on our holiday. Nice ambience and quick service.

We live nearby and usually visit once a week ever since it first opened. For years, it was great, then for a while post-Covid it was poor. The young lads who seemed to be the only staff opened late, were unreliable, the coffee was hit and miss, etc. More recently, new staff have started - what a difference! Service is excellent, coffee and toast spot on and the place is looked after, tables cleared in a timely fashion foe example. Good to see it back to how it used to be!

I visited Costa in Alnwick on 23rd of December having a break after a bad experience and all I can say is what a difference. There were new girls and what a breath of fresh air. Polite and well mannered. I was asked at the table if I was warm enough as I had 2 children and if everything was OK for me.

Went in with our baby for a drink and a bite to eat, ended up leaving due to the disgusting attitude from the girl we were ordering with. We had to change our order due to them having no maple syrup which was absolutely no problem at all she said they had hazelnut so my husband ordered 2 hazelnut lattes and I instantly turned to her and said no sorry can I have a hot chocolate. To which she did a huge sigh and rolled her eyes at us. I am not paying almost £20 to be treated like that, I will never ever be returning to this Costa this girl was a total let down for the cafe. Told her it didn’t matter and walked out I couldn’t believe how disgusting of her it was to do that to a family coming in to spend their money in there paying her wages. Didn’t catch her name but this girl had blue/pink multicolour hair, I hope she gets a good lesson on how to appropriately deal with the public.

Great coffee as always. Barista's were very quick and they were very efficient helping young mum's and elderly getting trays to tables. First time I'd seen this in Costa.

Stood in que waiting to be served, hubby went and sat at a table waiting for me., as per norm. Staff then asked my husband to leave as he had reserved for a lady who had come in just in front of us. Needless to say hubby won't be going back

or service at Alnwick was good, nice coffee,clean and tidy,on the whole a good experience.experience this day at metro centre Costa the person serving was very poor his customer service was horrid the place was full of uncleared tables with plenty of staff but didn't seem to be told to get out and clean up poor.

Had a Costa voucher so used it while on holiday in Alnwick. Never again women who was serving was so miserable as if to say oh no customers yes we pay your wages love she pushed my tray and said there you go I was like I thought you were bringing it over ,first time and last time in Costa not one bit helpful looked like she didn't even want to be there.

Good coffee and helpful staff. What lets the cafe down is the freezing aircon blasting away in a dungeon of a back room while its cool outside. I thought we were supposed to be saving energy.

We visited on the hottest day of the year (so far!) and no-where else seemed to be open mid afternoon. Though they were closing early we managed to sneak in for a quick drink. The staff were pleasant and inside was okay cleanliness wise.

Coffee and service fine. However the toilet was so dirty and smekt so vile I was almost sick. Definitely not usable.

Not been here before - the coffee was fine but the food choices @ 10.00 am were poor - ended up with the poorest example of a cheese & ham toastie ever - not going back.

It's been a while since we've had a 'seated cuppa' here. We called in to use the broadband as the builder has cut our home broadband cable, and it's Sunday, so no call out engineer available and we need to shop for our Antipodean grandson..but that's another story. So, coffee as good as ever, still (IMHO) the best cup of coffee available in Alnwick and reasonably priced. Staff changes as well as the fact I'm not the regular I used to be mean a polite but distant greeting. However like I said it's a while since we've had a sit in order... I'm not impressed with the new decor, its darker, less in iting, gone is the leather settee and low table, and yet there seems to be less seating..so only 4 stars this time. BUT...free broadband still as fast as ever, perfectly adequate for on line shopping, alrhough Norton and Google both warn it may not be secure.

A lot of cafes are shut in Alnwick on Sunday but Costa is always open....for a tea, catch-up and a relaxing five minutes. The cafe are lovely, helpful and although it is a small branch, it is well run.

Was conned by this shop. Asked for a large coffee and was told they don't have large cups left so why don't I just get 2 small cups. Nearly cost double the price of a large cup.

Costa coffee in our tassimo at home and we are ready for a coffee so where better to go than Costa in Alnwick. Dirty tables either they don’t have enough staff ? Or staff don’t really know how to keep it clean and tidy not sure which ??? Didn’t enjoy our experience at all and won’t ever return again I would rather just try a independent coffee shop these big chains Don’t really have the personal touch so it’s independent from now on.

I note the outlet has had a face-lift, but the seating area still feels claustrophobic & the low staffing meant several tables unavailable due to needing clearing, 2 staff busy serving. Not sure if this is policy or lack of staff, but a third member at least would help keep the seating area clear & welcoming as well as the front of shop, work area clean, clutter free & tidy. Products purchased OK but not really value for money. Thank you

This Costa coffee store the staff send out dirty cups which if you look at your cup you can see they haven’t been cleaned properly. So my cup was taken back for replacement when this arrived it tasted Awful the best thing is this I don’t think was done on purpose it just tasted Awful…staff couldn’t care less attitude really not too bothered that a Full cup was brought back to them at the very least I would have expected a refund of my Awfull cup of coffee!! Never mind I will never set foot in this place ever again and I will be informing head office on Monday! Let’s see what that brings.

Really aggressive customer came in today complaining about a dirty cup. He was so rude to staff which was really off putting. They did their best to help him. Brought my drink over for me since I had the pram. They're always friendly In there, shame some customers have to ruin it for others.

Do not go here. Rude abusive staff !!! Never will use Costa again. Cafe Nero and Starbucks plus independent cafes from now on. My husband & son removed from table even though I was next to be served. I asked for server’s name and they...

I visited with my husband last week. On each table was an obvious message to say that each table would be sanitized after use by every customer. After eating our snack and whilst finishing our drinks, all the other customers around our table finished first...

Service was quick and the staff are friendly. One even remembered my order from a few weeks prior. Coffee is a bit bitter for my taste, but a packet of sugar fixes that in an instant.

Always get a good coffee at the Alnwick shop. The staff are the best. Keep up the good work.

This is definitely one of my favourite Costa coffees, it feels clean inside with a nice atmosphere and friendly staff and quick service

Entered to grab a coffee and used my mobile phone app. Polite staff and in a fresh mood for that weekend. Considering the queue and early hour, the staff had a speedy dynamic in preparing everyone's coffees and serving very friendly. Such a nice impression. Thanks, Cost staff for making my day great.

Visited Tues 10/11 Just after lunchtime. Ordered 2 drinks and sandwich, girl serving me was really rude! Never once said please or thank you, drinks came with one being totally wrong drink! I asked if I could buy a box of coffee syrups which were for sale. She said hang on! I stood like a fool but she asked the guy to help her with the sale. She then said put your card in the machine, at this point I turned to her and said Please! How does she expect to work in a shop with no manners whatsoever! I work frontline but her attitude was awful!

How do you tell staff that you think that they are disrespectful? I don't mind a laugh, but I do when it's at my expense and rude. An expensive coffee, poor toastie and the toilet was filthy and smelly. I didn't say anything or complain...

We stopped here for warm drinks while looking around Alnwick on a blustery mid-afternoon. We timed it right as it was almost empty when we went in but within 15 minutes every table was taken. There were good Covid precautions and the tables were well-separated.We noticed that the seasonal gingerbread lattes were available. We have tried these at other places and thought we would try Costa's. The staff were very good about checking the ingredients for intolerances.The lattes were OK but not as good as we have had elsewhere. I don't think we would order one at Costa again. That said, they were pleasant and certainly drinkable, and warmed us up which was the goal.

Very helpful staff and careful attention to COVID-19 safety. Sadly one "decaf" had full-on caffeine, which was a bit alarming.

Spacious coffee shop located close to Alnwick Market Square. Friendly barristas. Enjoyable coffee and scrumptious cakes.

As you would expect from a Costa, friendly staff quick service and drinks to the same quality. A bit of a weird layout as you dont expect the amount of seating to the rear of the serving area.

It's Costa what more do you need?

The place needs a good deep clean, tables, counter, floors/carpets & cutlery were dirty, we also felt it to be to expensive for a cup of coffee so ended up with something else, as they did not have the right milk for a flat white! The card machine was off line and they were taking cash only payments, luckily we had cash with us! As a caravan owner on the site, I feel it is not good enough at all and you need to get your finger on the pulse! You member of staff is your only asset, very helpful and apologetic.

Regular Costa users nationwide will be pleased to note that although on the smaller side in comparison to other branches, this Costa serves all the familiar favourites, is manned with friendly and polite staff, always clean and they make fine cups of coffee. Only downside...

Lovely staff and nice and clean. Early morning visit just after 7am and bacon roll yummy I was greeted warmly and offered sauce with my bun.

Best coffee you'll get is in Costa

This is like Greggs, but with pretensions! Very mediocre coffee, uncharismatic staff, overpriced. The wipe clean, corporate surfaces are reminiscent of 1980's Ikea design. Generally, the only thing that needed thoroughly wiping was the entire experience.
