I'm on record as having said on many occasions that if they awarded PhDs for scone-tasting, I should have a dozen. I've eaten scones in venues from the Orkney Islands to Australia and written about them in more publications than I could possibly remember. So, you can take my word for it that the freshly-baked, home-made scones (with butter and strawberry jam) at No.6 are quite possibly the best I've tasted in recent years. Cafe No 6 is a quaint place with a very atmospheric first-floor eating area, a delightful owner and staff who look like they are actually enjoying the job they do. My wife and I were just as impressed with the special 'doggy menu' on offer. We shall be back!

We enjoyed a lovely hot chocolate and coffees last weekend - it was very quiet when we arrived but soon got busy. We were seated upstairs with a table overlooking the square. The menu looked nice and I could hear other customers saying how much they had enjoyed the food. The girls serving were very polite....a nice pitstop whilst visiting Corbridge.

This is a delightful cafe in the market square. On a hot day we stopped and sat inside for lunch. The serving staff are friendly and we ordered two sandwich, iced coffee and Anna American. This was really well done - homely fare but very tasty and great value. A lovely little place to stop.

Had lunch here recently with my husband. We sat outside and ordered our food inside. I enquired about gluten free options and was offered a panini with ham and salad filling. The panini was baked to order in its protective wrapping ( important to coeliacs) The presentation of food was good, as was the service and attention to detail. Would recommend this cafe if you are in the area.

We were visiting Corbridge and came across the cafe as we we’re walking back to the car. Very nice welcome, friendly staff. We sat upstairs and we both had scone with jam, clotted cream. My partner had a cappuccino and I had a flavored tea. The service was quick and the food, drink was really nice. The cafe itself seemed a bit dated upstairs, seemed a bit messy with chairs scattered on tables, maybe this was for Covid restrictions, I’m not sure but just seemed a bit messy. There was boxed that had been delivered just left on another table and it just seemed a bit messy. I would recommend maybe some background music upstairs as there was nothing and just seemed it was missing something. Overall the food, drink and staff were great, just felt the cafe itself just needed a bit of TLC and tidying upstairs before customers arrived.

Despite arriving just as breakfast was finishing, the staff were more than happy to cook me a full English. The food was prompt, fresh, beautifully prepared and, I believe, locally sourced. The decaf coffee was the best I’ve ever tasted. The busy serving team was friendly, polite and attentive throughout and, between handling orders, maintained a very thorough and reassuring sanitising regime. Great food, great service. Will definitely be back.

Popped in for a full english breakfast and an americano, waited around ten minutes which was good considering they had quite a few customers upstairs awaiting there drinks and food! Staff are very polite and welcoming and very good banter can be had regardless of the chaos. The layout of the small but quirky cafe is well thought of with these unique tmes with track and trace and sanitisers to hand keeping all staff and customers as safe as possible. The food is amazing and I even had a scone with cream and jam to finish my meal off. Couldn't ask for a better morning and would definitely recommend to anyone to visit this cafe even if you were just passing through.

Arrived lunchtime 21 August. One table of four persons were on the ground floor, and we were asked to go upstairs. We waited & waited. A waitress even came up to clear another table...no offer of taking the order, thinking she'd be back up shortly. No way! Eventually had to go down and ask to be served. As per previous Mrs customer, no apology, nor "was everything all right?"

My partner and I stopped off here on our way to Hexham.Inside the premises are clean and cosy and have a nice feel. We went upstairs and had a nice view over the square. The service was quick and polite. Unfortunately, this is were the positives stopped. My partner had a carrot and coriander soup which tasted only of carrots, and had little or no seasoning. I had a jacket potatoe with "Coronation chicken". However the potatoe could have easily fitted in the palm of my hand and could have been devoured in about three mouthfuls. As for the filling I have to say I have never encountered a Coronation Chicken like this before. It seemed to consist of what appeared to be a thick sweet sauce with a couple of pieces of chicken, no mayonnaise in sight. Overall it was a very disappointing experience, needless to say we will not be going back.

Popped in for coffee after a lovely dog walk, very disappointing! The latte was basically a cup of watery milk, americano very weak and no taste. We brought this to the waitresses attention who kindly took them away but horrified that she came back with the same coffees in the same cups with supposedly an extra shot in each. Looked and tasted no different and when we came to pay we had been charged extra. There are many other coffee shops in Corbridge to choose from therefore will not return.

Called here on a cold November morning. We had a table next to a very welcoming open fire, so a good start. Although it was 11.30 we just managed to arrive before breakfast menu finished and I enjoyed a fully cooked breakfast. It was very fresh and came with tea (or coffee) and toast. Stopped in for lunch on first visit to Corbridge. Should have read the menu more closely as they offer jacket potato as opposed to baked. Microwaved potato was a disappointment. Ordered Coronation chicken filling but was given strips of Chicken in a lot of very sweet mango chutney. Not the curried mayonnaise I was expecting. That said it was ok, but very sweet. The salad and coleslaw were fine. My husband enjoyed his Brie, bacon and cranberry panini. Having selected a downstairs table I went up to the (very clean) toilet and discovered a lovely room with fairy lights, sofas and the usual cafe tables. Wished we’d sat up there but when you’ve never been before you don’t know.

Visited a week ago. Loved the cafe, very warm and cosy. Lovely food and drinks, food and drink came promptly. However, the young lady serving was clearly more interested in her phone. As I arrived she was sat on her phone. As I went to pay the young lady was still on her phone and I waited a few moments before she took notice of me waiting to pay. As soon as I paid again she was back on her phone. I found this extremely rude, I know youngsters can't get away from their phones, but there is a time and a place for them! If it wasn't for this experience I would have rated higher. Other than that was lovely, other young lady working was very friendly and welcoming.

Located in the main square in Corbridge this is an excellent place to stop off if using many of the cycle routes in the area. Food was reasonably priced and very good quality. The menu was pretty extensive for a small coffee/tea shop.

My husband and I visited this tea room recently, had never been there before and we like trying out new places. Two young members of staff were standing by the counter, took no notice of us, no smile, no welcome, no hello. We had to wait quite a while for our order to be taken and sadly the lack of customer service skills, or just basic common courtesy, let down this place. The food and drink ordered was fine, but the staff were lacking any form of customer service.

I stumbled across Cafe no 6 after a recent visit to the very delightful market town of Corbridge. The Cafe is situated near the market place next to a very delightful fruit shop and charming bakery. Corbridge has a lot to offer from good shopping to some wonderful restaurants. A warm welcome awaits you from friendly staff at Cafe no6. Today We choose to sit outside in the warm sun and the watch the world go by with the help of warm, homemade fruit scores and pots of tea. Cafe no6 offers a good choice of light meals and exceptional value for money. Do not be deterred by the lack of good menu information outside, as once you enter the premises I am sure you will not be disappointed. So the next time you ask "where should we go today " go to Corbridge and make sure you visit Cafe no6 for tea. Other places to visit near Corbridge - Halls of Heddon Fantastic Garden Centre and Vallums Farm Ice Cream Parlour.

Stopped here after a gruelling 20 mile cycle. Very friend and approachable staff, we were made to feel very welcome. We had a Ploughman's and a panini which were excellent and the cakes were outstanding - particularly the grapefruit cake! Will definitely stop here again if passing through the area!

As always the food was amazing and the portions very generous. A lovely warm welcome and Sarah went above and beyond when one of our party decided after our meals were brought out that she would like some bread and butter with her meal. Sarah sorted it out without any fuss.

We stopped by chance at The Percy Arms for a drink and ended up eating an amazing meal-Wednesday afternoon and very quiet but the food was delicious and the service excellent. The soup was very tasty and the steak cooked to perfection - we will return!

I’m so sad to see this lovely place closed. It had great staff and atmosphere and a fantastically good smoked haddock chowder. I wish its people all the best and I thank them for all the great visits we’ve had here. I really hope that there might be a replacement cafe of such quality. We’ll watch with interest.

Our introduction to this country pub was to a spacious, comfortable, immaculately clean bedroom, with stunning views of the fells. Next dinner and cooking of Michelin quality. A highlight was the scallop with belly pork, a brilliant dish. Next morning breakfast, again flawless in every respect from the service to the produce. Any prospective dining pub owner/chef should come here to see how it's done.

My partner & I came here on Sunday for a spot of lunch we both had Fish & Chips ( I had salad with mine instead of chips) I have to say the fish was amazing I would say 100 times better than you would get at a fish shop. The batter was so light & crispy and the fish tasted so good. The staff made us feel so welcome happy smiling faces and we did not have to wait long before our food came I would whole heartily recommend plants plus for lunch
