Popped in for Sunday lunch after a visit to the beach whilst on holiday. Parking outside but busy at weekends. Managed to get a table and made very welcome with our young dog. Traditional feel with flag floors, great for muddy boots and damp dogs. The roast dinners were absolutely beautiful and service was good, order and pay at the bar. They even have a dog menu which we made use of. Would highly recommend.

Had a lovely walk with friends and our 2 dogs that culminated in a Sunday roast here. It was very busy but we did get a table easily as a lot of people sat outside in the warm sunshine. A young man cleaned the table for us and was very welcoming. We all had roast, 2 lamb, 1 beef & 1 with all 3 meats. Expensive in my opinion. £18.50 for lamb, £15.50 for beef and £18.50 for 3 meats. We live in Blyth and can get 3 courses at our golf club for £20. Warkworth attracts tourists though and they are ripped off because of it 🤷🏻‍♂️ We only had 2 measly roast potatoes. The meat was nice and there was lots of gravy which I love and all roasts came with a Yorkshire pudding. Veg ok. Mash, swede, cabbage and carrots. Overall it was a nice meal but not worth the money.

We try to have lunch here once a quarter. Very disappointed on our last visit when the steak and ale pie contained large chunks of shallot. The chef has taken notice of comments and the filling was much better. There is still room for improvement however. Some of the meat was dry on the top snd a bit tough in places. The pie crust could not be cut in places with the cutlery supplied. Rock hard. The pie is in danger of slipping from the number one in Northumberland slot it has held for years on our family list. The saving grace was my wife’s fish and chips, which was excellent. So three stars for the pie and five stars for the fish and chips.

Beer wise usual guest IPAs but I'm a dark ale drinker so only ale for me was rhe Landlord which was nice but would prefer a wider choice. I had the days special, cumberland sausage ring, on blackpudding mash, roasted carrots and red onion gravey. It was excellent. Both dishes were excellent value. I'm on record as having said on many occasions that if they awarded PhDs for scone-tasting, I should have a dozen. I've eaten scones in venues from the Orkney Islands to Australia and written about them in more publications than I could possibly remember. So, you can take my word for it that the freshly-baked, home-made scones (with butter and strawberry jam) at No.6 are quite possibly the best I've tasted in recent years. Cafe No 6 is a quaint place with a very atmospheric first-floor eating area, a delightful owner and staff who look like they are actually enjoying the job they do. My wife and I were just as impressed with the special 'doggy menu' on offer. We shall be back!

We visited the Joiners Arms during our stay at Newton Hall. On our first evening we arrived for your pre booked time slot for dinner. The staff that greeted us and served us were very nice. We ordered cocktails which were delicious, my husband had the burger and I had the fish and chips…both were really nice. We left feeling like we had had a lovely evening. The only disappointment was the local beer was off. The next morning we arrived for breakfast which is a mixture of self service and hot freshly cooked. This is where I have a few grumbles. The staff that were on were friendly enough, however, we experienced one of my pet hates when dinning out. When the hot food was served, our used plates from cereal/pasties etc were not cleared. We then sat with our dirty plates from our cooked breakfast for 15 minutes after we had finished. There were numerous passes by our table in that time and it was obvious we were finished but no attempt was made to clear our plates or to ask if everything was ok or if we required anything in addition. The plates were only cleared when we were standing putting on our coats. We had asked that morning for a table in the evening and we were told there were two large parties that evening therefore we would not be able to book, however we took a chance early in the evening and luckily they were able to fit us in which was appreciated. The second morning for breakfast we again had the same issue. Nothing wrong with the friendliness of the staff or the food but the attention to detail is lacking especially leaving dirty plates on the table, not checking back and not clearing when finished. There seems to be a big disconnect between the standards of the evening staff and the breakfast staff. That said, if in the area again I would give it another chance.
