Visited for the first time after being recommend. The Sunday carvery is amazing!

Went for breakfast, staff very friendly and food was really nice! One thing that really stood out was the service we received from Sharon she was very attentive and really chatty love that! Keep been you !! :)

The only thing would be if meals where a little hotter

Best breakfast around , really good ingredients , the staff were first class. Sharon the young lady who was clearing tables & constantly cleaning was extremely friendly & helpful , she's definitely an asset to the place , we were made to feel welcome from walking in to the pub

Visited today as we do every week at the minute. Sharon was so friendly and helpful. The food was beautiful and at £6.00 a carvery with the app offer a bargain to. This pregnant Lady who craves carvery all the time is very happy.

Our server Sharon was brilliant. We have started to come here regularly to satisfy my wife's pregnancy cravings and Sharon was very attentive to her needs

Absolutely first class breakfast , no negatives at all , we visit various establishments through out Northumberland for breakfasts and lunches , and have found the Astley Arms to be the best breakfast so far , good quality ingredients all round , especially the sausages . Also a shout out to the staff , the lady behind the bar was extremely friendly & the young girl who was cleaning never stopped, we watched as she meticulously cleaned the ice cream machine , it was reassuring to know that they took hygiene seriously . We will definitely be back , also we downloaded the app for great savings & deals

Cheap food, waited 40 minutes for a pizza, burger and some chicken nuggets. £4 for 4 small pieces of halloumi! I don't think we will be back.

Used to always come here from being a tiny tot with my grandparents and I now come here with my own daughter and my mam. Always great food and lovely staff. Our server today was Sharon who went above and beyond for our table today. 10/10

We visited on sunday for the carvery with a family of four. The service from the staff is fantastic especially the staff behind the carvery. They made it a smooth process for my nephew who had ADHD and its usually very over welming for him. However the staff helped him which was lovely to see thank you. The food is lovely and fresh always gettting restocked. Great place to visit for dinner, plenty options to choose from.

Great food at an affordable price, always served piping hot. We go there every Friday and always receive a warm welcome from the staff, especially Sharon who always looks after us..she's a lovely girl, always bright and bubbly and full of fun and very helpful...she's a little gem❤️

the carvery was lovely however the other two meals took some time to arrive, particularly disappointing as one order was pizza which should , in my opinion, have arrived before we were served at the carvery

all of the food was lovely. two of us had the carvery however the two that didn't waited some time for their food, one of which was pizza so difficult to understand how that took so long, it arrived after the scampi and when we had nearly finished our carvery meal. in my experience pizza takes less than 5 minutes

I always like to bring my son here greeted at the door . Got taken to our table Sharon was really nice as always said hi to my son as we are regular customers . Took our plates away and my son wanted ice cream the sauce ran out Sharon went and got a fresh bottle . Very good food staff and service

Great value meal especially with a money off voucher. Under £20 for 2 adults with a soft drink. Sharon the server was wonderful and very friendly and helpful. Will be back soon.

Unfortunately tonight is a negative!!was looking forward to having the beef. But alas no beef so turkey and gammon. The turkey was so dry it was just crumbes so that left the gammon that was OK but was told but when I asked for 3 small slices was told that the meat was by portion so somehow was only allowed 2 slices per portion!! All the vegetables had been left so long dry and had lost there colours the potatoes were so dry they stoke to the spoon as for the roast potatoes they were so hard that the fork wouldn't go into them. And to top it all off the gravey was cold.

No beef turkey so dry it brakes into pieces before it makes it to the plate. The mashed potato was so dry it stoke to the Spon roast potatoes so crisp that they couldn't be cut and the gravy was cold also 2slices of meat well I was wanting the 3 slices the same as 3 different meats __ 6 stares

Staff are lovely, food is great. It's dog friendly and has GF options. Outdoor garden and play area for kids. What more do you need!!

Although I have reviewed this place before, I am back again and today enjoyed the Mac n cheese with really lovely stodgy dough balls. Sharon served us today and she was really bubbly and friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. She was lovely. We will be back.

We have been regular visitors to the Astley Arms for many years but have noticed that since covid it has not had the investment it needs and deserves to compete with other pubs. Last time we visited we found things were not so good - neither the food nor the staff were particularly appealing and did not encourage visiting again. Very disappointed as we travel for about 30 minutes to get there. However, this time around - what a change!!! The place was tidy, clean and welcoming and the staff were bright bubbly and friendly - as well as being very helpful. The carvery was lovely - I didn't quite lick the plate but not far off! Quite the turn around and very welcome.

Called in for lunch last week, not been there for a while and it was nice to see the decor had been renewed, so much nicer. New people have taken over the place and we were warmly welcomed. We both decided on having the medium carvery at just over £9 odd (can't remember exactly to the penny). Turkey, beef or ham with yorkshire pud and a selection of fresh veg and roast and mashed spuds. Gravy is tasty too. Looking at the menu there is also a good range of other meals and sweets. We are going to come back for their freshly cooked breakfasts, they look tasty. I joined the Stonehouse club, on line when we got home and there are some offers on there worth having. This review is completely independent and we only called in for an easy lunch, living a couple of miles away.

Lovely Pub, Very friendly environment. Staff are all lovely, Sharon was Happy, Friendly and Very Welcoming. All you can eat Breakfast Buffet is a great way to start the day. And We as a family highly recommended the carvery and the Pizzas served 7 days a week. The free parking is a bonus.

What a lovely breakfast and we were made to feel really special by Sharon as it was my dad's 85th birthday. She was so personable and bubbly from the moment we walked through the door; even before we'd said it was a celebratory breakfast... And thanks for the Birthday card, it all made a difference. Booked for a birthday meal for 13 of us and was not disappointed, they accommodated my son with sensory issues regarding food very very well and made sure everyone was taken care of, even had a birthday card from staff on the table when we arrived. Nothing was too much bother for the staff , very friendly and the chef was amazing, amazing food and made my son feel really special would 100 percent recommend thos place and can't wait to go back

We came here for Christmas lunch with family, we were seated by very friendly waitress, the food was really good, I was quite surprised at how nice it was, we will return on our next visit to Northumberland.

Great menu with a wide choice of meals and excellent carvery. The staff very friendly. The pub has a memorial to the submariners who were stationed in Blyth during ww2 including a bottle of whiskey left behind by a submariner who failed to return from his patrol.. the original is at the submarine museum in Gosport A great experience.

We came in here for some tea after a dog walk and it was a really nice experience. It wasn’t too busy and we had a quiet spot in the corner for our dog. The food was good and really filling, definitely recommend the pizzas! The lovely lady who served us, Sharon, was really welcoming and friendly. This is such a nice, friendly pub and we are lucky to have it on our door step.

We popped into the Astley after a cold walk along the beach to warm up with a coffee and met Sharon. Sharon is an absolute asset to the pub. She is so friendly, chatty, warm and happy. She had us laughing within minutes of walking in, and although we have never met her before, it made us feel like we were all old friends. Can't speak highly enough of her and having worked in the industry myself until recently, I would employ her in a heartbeat! Brilliant!

I take my adult son with severe special needs and the staff could not be more helpful and understanding. Especially Sharon who served me with a smile even though I know we are hard work and the girl on the carvery who is incredibly patient and accommodating with us.

Had the small carvery here, on the recommendation of a friend. Plate was very small, so couldn’t fill up much on veg. I opted for the beef. There was a good selection of vegetables, and they looked nice. Veg was tasty, but a bit lukewarm. By the time I found my beef buried under the veg, I was looking forward to tasting it. However the beef was fatty, gristly, and very sparse, even for a small portion. I left it on the plate, but didn’t feel I could then go and complain about the meat, as I had eaten most of the meal. Next time I will have the turkey, or some other meat that isn’t usually fatty. I suggest they at least give a decent sized plate even for the small portion, as I struggled to get all the veg and gravy I wanted on the very small plate given. It was a struggle to get the gravy on it without spilling some, as the plate was quite full.

We were served by Sharon today and she was so helpful and kind! She went the extra mile for us and was so bubbly and friendly. Great member of staff my daughter even told her that she loved her Christmas top! Thank you Sharon
