Popped in for lunch on a day over to Lindisfarne. Despite advertising that they cater for gluten free, a disappointing menu. When I asked at the bar if they do anything gluten free, the barman said that anything gluten free will have GF after it on menu, but they can do any sandwich with gluten free bread. There were no meals suitable on menu, so I went back to bar and asked if their spread was dairy free. Barmaid gives a big sigh and goes to check. Comes back to say yes it is, what do you want- like it was a big inconvenience for her. It’s not my husbands fault that he has allergies. Such attitude makes me wonder how anyone goes back here. Sarnie was ok but they didnt seem to do it separate to normal food as hubby found a bit of grated cheese attached to his bread. If he hadn’t spotted it, he would have been I’ll. overpriced too as the bread was just normal sliced bread. WONT BE GOING BACK!

We ate at the Lindisfarne Inn last night. We received a warm, friendly welcome. The Inn is really cosy inside. We both had game terrine to start which was nicely presented and a generous portion. Our mains were venison and bacon cassoulet and Lindisfarne chicken and we had an a portion of onion rings extra. Cappuccinos to finish, no room for dessert! The service was lovely. Attentive, timely and friendly. The food was delicious. We both really loved the game terrine. I’m glad we weren’t put off by some of the negative reviews as we would have missed out on a great evening.

Outrageously overpriced. We had 1 quiche, which arrived with no salad garnish. We asked the waitress if it should come with salad, she said oh yes and took it away. Came back with a very small amount. When we got the bill it was £3 for Salad and £9 for the quiche. One piece of cake was £7. We had tea for 2. A very small pot enough for one small cup each. Charged £9. For tea!!! Absolutely overpriced. Quality of quiche was good but carrot cake was not exceptional for the price. Service fine All seating now downstairs only so a bit cramped. As you can tell I will not be going back. Shame.

What an appalling experience! We arrived on a Sunday lunchtime to find more than half the tables full with leftover food and plates. The person at the bar gave us the wrong drinks twice (only a pint and a half!) and got severely confused when offered 22p to accompany a £10 note for a £5.22 bill. If this wasn't bad enough, the ladies toilet was in a disgraceful condition, with one cubicle containing what appeared to be days old vomit up the walls and the loo roll having been in the bowl. We've been to many Wetherspoons pubs over the years, but this was a disgrace to the chain.

This was a lunch experience I will not repeat. Upon arrival the cafe was busy but many tables were unable to be used as they were covered in dirty crockery. The staff walked past the tables empty handed several times and made no attempt to clear the tables. I eventually cleared a table myself. The service at the order point is incredibly slow and several mistakes were made with our order. After a very long wait, food started to arrive in dribs and drabs. Sandwiches were eaten before I eventually returned to the counter to enquire about drinks and the rest of the order. Staff made no comment as I questioned the delay in our order or when I had to return incorrect items. The milk for my tea was served in a tea pot which I had incorrectly presumed was extra hot water. This is such a shame as it could be a good place as the food was nice.

Lunch today was made extra special because of the friendly, helpful and polite staff in the cafe who went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure the customer enjoyed their experience. The coronation chicken is exceptional and I had the pleasure of taking some home with Thanks to the whole team.

Nice little hotel bar right on the Main Street of Alnwick I had drink several times during our stay in Alnwick. Margaret had the chilli which she said was nice. I wasn’t hungry so had the potato skins which came with a barbecue sauce and garlic mayo, which were ok but out of a bottle.

Stopped off for breakfast and found automation had caught up with Morrisons, in the form of an automated ordering system. Finding our way around the screen wasn't quite as easy as big Mac and KFC equivalents but we did manage it, only just. Wanting to pay by cash, however, was even more difficult as the robot doesn't accept anything except credit cards so customer, much against the chagrin, had to use plastic. The breakfasts, when they arrived, was excellent and without doubt value for plastic.
