We ate at the Lindisfarne Inn last night. We received a warm, friendly welcome. The Inn is really cosy inside. We both had game terrine to start which was nicely presented and a generous portion. Our mains were venison and bacon cassoulet and Lindisfarne chicken and we had an a portion of onion rings extra. Cappuccinos to finish, no room for dessert! The service was lovely. Attentive, timely and friendly. The food was delicious. We both really loved the game terrine. I’m glad we weren’t put off by some of the negative reviews as we would have missed out on a great evening.

I visited Lindisfarne Inn as part of a family meal whilst visiting Berwick. This was my first visit to the Inn and I found a warm and friendly welcome. The front of house staff were brilliant. We were served by Faith and Harley and Mikey were working the bar/serving. The food was hot, well presented and delicious. I would like to give a shout out to the Chefs (Amrish and Robyn). I would definitely recommend Lindisfarne Inn for its good food and warm and friendly welcome.

I had Sunday lunch here yesterday, definitely not going back again, ordered turkey but it looked like pork with the amount of fat that was round the so called meat, cauliflower cheese was an extra £4.00 I won’t get it to the dog, it was like mush. Then ordered ice cream, which was much better, 3 very small spoonful think they used a tea spoon, just terrible all in all .

Poor food. Went for a Sunday roast today and beef very thin and dry/crisped up as likely been standing under lamp for hours. Portion sizes really poor and not worth the money. Slow bar service and extortionate prices for soft drinks (c£11 for 3x half Pepsis) Game terrine started bland as were accompaniments, gravy tasteless and watery and Yorkshire puddings doughy and undercooked/flavourless. Fish n chips sizes ok but skin on chips limp/anaemic and soggy and batter floury and bland/lacks seasoning. Not worth the money in our opinion and won’t return. Best off with a service station sandwich.

Terrible meal. I really don’t know how it has had any good reviews. The chips looked as though they had been cooked several hours before serving but I was hungry so ate them. My husband had the pie of the week which was supposed to be venison and black pudding. It contained very little meat and was tasteless. The worst meal we’ve had for a long time!

Popped in on spec before going to the Lindisfarne festival and I was very happy with the food and service. The burger tasted homemade, super tasty and delicious. The homemade chips tasted really nice ( with skins on) and the side salad was super fresh, and beautifully dressed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Thanks for a lovely meal!

Food wasn’t great at all had Sunday dinners and one fish and chips. It wasn’t a cheap meal no starter one ice cream a basic Sunday dinner cost £120 not a cheap afternoon considering I left most of my food only ate the Yorkshire pudding and two slices of beef which were tough and really grisly to eat but I was starving. Wouldn’t go back but the cappuccino they were good that’s it. We drove 2 hrs to meet friends for that.

What has happened to the food? The last time we came it was beautiful but this occasion was so disappointing. Chips were overdone and tasted like they were recooked from the day before. The roast turkey sandwich, dry turkey and watery tasteless gravy. Sticky toffee pudding was just tasteless and tasted slightly burnt too. Really disappointed. The staff and service were really good though.

We stopped here for some food & we were greeted by very friendly & helpful staff, who went out of their way to make us feel at home. We had our dog with us so they made sure that even the dog had some creature comforts by bringing him a dog bed to Lie on. We had some car trouble which caused us some delay. The hosts really couldn’t have been any more help than they were. Helping us resolve problems & even offering us the use of their car park for a few days if we needed it. On top of all the great service the food is also superb, cooked to perfection (thank you chef). Wide variety to choose from on locally sourced ingredients. Very pleasant surroundings made the whole visit worth while. We even returned the next day as it was well worth it. Thank you to the two hosts, Gavin & Cheryl for going out of your way to help us & make us feel very at home. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Came with a pile of paprika or cayenne or something on some dried out fries with a slice of cheese melted on top with some large , burnt pieces of bacon chucked on it ! Come on guys! Loaded fries is not hard ans that is not cheese sauce ! £8 for that?!! Mains were ok . Poached haddock was good . Partridge was ok . Linguine was good . Surf and turf overcooked and had 2 prawns ! Food was ok . Service on the other hand was friendly and great! Kitchen, buck up and your place will be great. It’s well located and will always be busy but that’s no reason to not ensure and work hard on the food you sell!

We called in here for a family meal,we were staying local and decided to try out local places to eat. From the outside all looks well ,however it's when you get in that the problems hit home . We ordered as a party of four all at once and paid for it in one go we also were all at the same table, however my wife's meal and mine arrived before our guests and when we questioned it we were told eventually they working a two till system so any orders in between ours would get served before us (silly and not a sensible answer as we all ordered in one go)however when mine and my wife's meals arrived my brioche bun was burnt, and the burger inside was so small it didn't come up to the edge i got about 10-12 chips and that was it my wife so diplomatic as usual said her was ok. We had finished our offering and the rest of the family still didn't have theirs and this is now nearly 45 minutes wait time, eventually after a second attempt to get an reasonable answer for the wait time from the male of the staff we were told the same as before ,but by now everyone in the dinning room were eating so they had all been served. Then a miracle happened the rest of our party got their offering so they were now eating on their own ,as we had finished ours about 20 minutes prior. In summarising the food was poor quality, cooked badly, served horrendously slow and very much overpriced . I won't be going back ever. Paul

We stayed at the Lindisfarne inn from 27th August to 28th August as a 4 party (and a baby.) This was for my birthday as we went to Holy Island and Bamburgh. The hotel and pub were clean, cosy and inviting and the food was great. The staff, however, were the absolute highlight. The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating and more importantly they were friendly, considerate, funny and interesting people who made the trip such a treat. Special thanks to Donna, Myra and Gavin in particular they need a raise immediately they were wonderful in making us feel so welcome and making my birthday so special thank you so much I won’t forget that. They were also amazing with our baby son who loved them. If I had a small gripe it would be the meal sizes were a little small but really we didn’t walk away hungry so it’s not a great complaint. Keep up the amazing work folks, we can’t wait to see you again.

I think my main problem with this place is in the value for money offered. The staff were fine, nice people, helpful and polite all you could wish. Everything was clean and tidy - an ideal place to stop for lunch you might think. We went for the Light Bite menu. The scampi ran to five pieces accompanied by chips plus a pot of mushy peas so very poor value for £10. The Superfood Salad was served on a tiny plate and was about four inches across and not exactly heaped. Although beetroot was mentioned on the menu none was evident. Again the cost was £10. We left just about as hungry as when we arrived. Poorer but wiser.

There were a couple of positives but drowned out by the negatives hence the one star. We just had mains, the smoked haddock chowder was not bad on flavour but it was a case of spot the fish which at £17 is taking it. Its served with shop bought sliced bread, whoever thought that was a good idea needs to change career. Our other main was pheasant which was generous & cooked well, however the celeriac mash was replaced with potato mash which my partner dislikes. Chips were bought to replace but by the time the celeriac came we had finished. You pay on order, no offer of reduction or even a complimentary drink. Poor.

Have just returned from our first visit to the Lindisfarne Inn. Whilst the Inn itself is lovely and the staff are friendly we were really shocked at their portion sizes. Sunday roasts are sold in 2 sizes medium or kids. We did comment before going that it was a shame they didn't offer a large option. The service was quick and friendly and great as far as covid restrictions allow. On being delivered our meals i did think that maybe my husband may comment on the size of our meals. They did look more like kids portions than anything else. 1 slice of roast Beef that wasn't anything special, 1 new potato, 3 small roast, 2 tiny florets of Brocoli and cauli a dessert spoon of red cabbage, 4 small carrot batons and a medium Yorkshire Pudding. For the most part the food was nice, but nothing special and when you are charged nearly £12 per meal it certainly was not good value. They also know how to charge for the drinks as a pint of cider and cask ale came to nearly £9!!! We certainly won't be returning.

We duly booked on on 15th Sep for my wife's birthday treat. We were dealt with by the beautiful Courtney (Well I assume she was under the mask lol)She was nice and friendly and made for a pleasant evening. The food was very good but the wine was a little overpriced but we made the most of it and persevered.Covid issues were paramount and well orchestrated so that bade us feel safe.I can highly recommend this place for a mealPerhaps we'll stay there as well next time

Took my son for dinner after we had been to holy island for the day. It didn’t start well. We were sat near the door in comfy lie back chairs which made it impossible to eat at the table. We moved tables ok no probs. Starters of garlic bread and baked goats cheese nice. Apart from the slice of brown bread served with my goats cheese come on guys a crusty rustic homemade cob at least would have been better. Mains. My sons fish was a foot long and thin. We weren’t told what fish it was and the chips were really soggy. My lamb dish was acceptable. Now here’s what really got my goat. There was a lack of mature adults running the place. It was as far as I could see run by kids no older than 22. Not impressed 3/10

We stayed and ate quite regularly at the Lindisfarne inn! The evening/daytime food was top notch we had many dishes from the sea bass, chicken kebab, pork and noodles and the burger all of which were very nice - they also serve smaller portions which are ideal for a smaller appetite! The white chocolate and baileys cheesecake pudding is amazing! Staff are very friendly and more than accommodating with the dog! The accommodation is enough and in a good location 5 minutes from Holy Island.

Stopped off for Sunday lunch on the way back from Holy Island. Both had roast beef which was lovely plus giant yorkies!!! However the service was interesting! Thrown a menu and told we could “sit there”. Same waitress bought our food, had to ask for a spoon for veg at which the waitress shock her head. I didn’t dare ask for horseradish so asked another member if staff. Seemed to be a big lack of management.

We ate here during a trip up to Holy Island. This is the only place we went to in Northumberland that didn’t take track & trace details. The staff whilst very pleasant were all young, no knowledge of dietary requirements or allergies. Food was disappointing & tepid. We wouldn’t go there again.

We came here for a quick dinner, and were astounded,in a good way. The presentation of the lamb was lovely, the kebab looked very professional, the steak was cooked in the way it was requested to and the chicken made a great eat. The staff were friendly and it was overall a great night out. - Isobel, age 11

Good safety measures but the service left a lot to be desired. The waiter clearly forgot to put the order through to the kitchen as we had to ask again after waiting 50 minutes. 3 waiting staff then gave different excuses for the delay. After our meals arrived, we were asked whether everything was OK and the food was "worth the wait"?! No attempt to reduce the bill as compensation and the only apology came from the waitress, who wasn't responsible for the failure to put through the order.

We stopped off and eat at the Lindisfarne Inn, we chose to sit outside and on the first occasion a Monday evening the food and service was outstanding and the Covid measures were being applied and we felt really safe. On the second occasion a thursday evening, we were the only table booked in and the pub was quiet, the service was appalling, without doubt the worst ever received. Considering Covid introduced table service, we were left waiting for well over a half an hour, we went inside to remind staff that we wanted to order both drinks and food and still no show. I ended up writing both the food and drinks order on the back of the menu and then going inside the pub to find a member of staff, only to had over my rough notes. To clarification or checking. This wasnt just us, other tables were doing the same. In the middle of the meal a round of drinks arrived that wasnt for us, they went to another table but the £18.60 was still added to the bill.We ended up doing the same for the sweets, as the staff were just invisible. When serving half the meal arrived and the second part seemed to take forever. The night was brought to an abrupt halt due to the rain, I've tried to contact the manager to discuss our visit both on the phone and via email with no success. I've sent the email to the management company, again no communication or acknowledgement. Its now been over 72 hours since I tried to contact them, still no responseTo give some balance, the food when it arrived was excellent and shows how the cant be arsed attitude of staff really impacts on the customer experience.Would I visit again, other in the group probably not this pub.

We went for lunch today on the way back from Holy IslandThe layout was great, good separation without losing the atmosphere and the first restaurant this week to use face coverings! My fish was huge and beautifully cooked and my wife enjoyed her curry. The only let down was the chips which looked as though they had been cooked in dirty oil and were soggy, hence 4 not 5 stars The food was good value but the wine, whilst pleasant enough was significantly over priced at £21.50 for a Californian Pinot Grigio That said we would probably return on a future visit

My family visited this restaurant and enjoyed a nice evening meal. The food was hot and plentiful. The staff were first class and really helpful. My one criticism is that the food is over priced and the drinks are really expensive. 1 pint of draft Diet Coke £3.80. A bottle of Corona £4.50.The food was hot, well presented and the service was really good, I wouldn’t return as I consider it to be over priced.

We came here as a family of four two adults two children as we were staying close by. The food was beautiful and the service was fantastic. The lady who served us (didn’t get her name) was super lovely she couldn’t do enough for us. So welcoming. Sometimes when you have young children it can be a nightmare eating out, trying to keep them entertained and not disturb others but the atmosphere was relaxing and they were very well behaved. The food was beautiful and fresh and didn’t take too long either. The garlic mushrooms were good and the sticky toffee pudding was amazing. Well worth a visit.

Bad start to visit, the receptionist asked how we were paying despite going through the process online and believing Barclaycard had been debited since this transaction was showing in my account , before leaving, as in the "forward posting". This appeared to be sorted since the amount had been charged on my return home.Although not mentioned on the website, the bedrooms are lodges situated next to the Hotel carpark, quite comfortable with a good size bed and shower. One fault would possibly be the musty smell which we noticed as soon as we entered the room , we must have got used to it since forgot about it again.Very disappointed with the food menu, from memory think there were 6 items including burgers for dinner, one of the receptionists advised us the menu was restricted that day since the Chef was awaiting a delivery but was in the process of changing the menu-not quite sure what this entailed considering it was early July and into the Summer Season. Decided to go out both nights of our stay, first night to the Island View (just a few miles nearer Berwick) and the next night the Bamburgh Castle Inn, Seahouses, which was known to us.We had fully expected this establishment to be near the sea, it is a good mile from memory and were disappointed overall with the Hotel particularly the lack of a good dinner menu which is generally the main reason of choosing a place to stay.

We were first in for lunch in this restaurant. Not many gluten free options but I chose a risotto which the chef said he would make me the best one ever........it was gorgeous he delivered as promised. My non gf partner had haggis and loved that too. Only reason I haven't given 5 stars is due to the limitations for my dietary need . Will return .......next time I want a risotto!!!

On the second night of our holiday which was a Sunday, 6 of us went here for a meal.We were pleasantly surprised to find the menu included a Sunday roast ,even in the evening. We did however choose something else from quite an extensive choice .The meals were very good and fairly reasonable .One of our party is wheelchair bound so we had to use the front entrance and stay in one particular room and we found the staff very helpful getting the door open for us .The restaurant is part of a complex offering accommodation so there are other dining areas available too. There is ample parking front and rear of the restaurant. It is on the main A1 road by the turn off for Holy Island .

We stopped here for a quick lunch whilst travelling South and were pleasantly surprised by what we found. The staff, who were friendly and loved to dote on the dogs, showed us to their dog friendly lounge which is beautifully decorated and spacious. We imagined having to eat outside so the dog friendly area was a huge plus for us. The food arrived within a satisfactory time and we had no complaints in regards to the quality. The chips were particularly tasty! The only downside was that there was very little on the menu for the celiacs in our party to choose from. Overall lovely stop and perfect for dog owners.

I reluctantly popped in for Sunday lunch on my way home from the caravan last weekend because my wife really wanted to go. I say reluctantly as the previous visit was just average and I thought this time would be the same. I was pleasantly surprised because I was wrong it was so much better especially the food. Don't get me wrong the staff were friendly the last time and just the same again. It was my lunch that did it for me it was hot, tasty, plentiful and really good value for money. We picked a great little table away from the main part of the restaurant and it was nice to see they let dogs in too round the back. Overall I was really pleased my wife insisted on going again because now I think this could be our stop off restaurant on our home from now on.......

I left a great review recently about this particular place but my return visit has been very disappointing. On the first occasion when we visited the restaurant here, it was reasonably quiet and everything was great. However, we found this to be a different story on a busy Saturday night. We ordered and then waited over 50 mins for the food tho arrive. The staff seem to have changed recently so I don't know if this is the problem or not. The gentleman in charge did agree that our wait had been unacceptable and put a credit on the bill for us. I probably will return over the summer just to see if things improve because although the food was very late in arriving, it was delicious. Just don't go at a busy time if you're really hungry!

The cafe prices are ludicrous. £3.45 for a toasted tea cake with barely any fruit in it is ridiculous as is a fiver for two cups of tea and £9 for a cooked breakfast!! The staff are not the most pleasant either. Sadly the shop and garden centre prices are way off the scale too compared to most other garden centres. Definitely would not recommend or revisit.

Nice little hotel bar right on the Main Street of Alnwick I had drink several times during our stay in Alnwick. Margaret had the chilli which she said was nice. I wasn’t hungry so had the potato skins which came with a barbecue sauce and garlic mayo, which were ok but out of a bottle.

Popped in for lunch on a day over to Lindisfarne. Despite advertising that they cater for gluten free, a disappointing menu. When I asked at the bar if they do anything gluten free, the barman said that anything gluten free will have GF after it on menu, but they can do any sandwich with gluten free bread. There were no meals suitable on menu, so I went back to bar and asked if their spread was dairy free. Barmaid gives a big sigh and goes to check. Comes back to say yes it is, what do you want- like it was a big inconvenience for her. It’s not my husbands fault that he has allergies. Such attitude makes me wonder how anyone goes back here. Sarnie was ok but they didnt seem to do it separate to normal food as hubby found a bit of grated cheese attached to his bread. If he hadn’t spotted it, he would have been I’ll. overpriced too as the bread was just normal sliced bread. WONT BE GOING BACK!
