Called in at lunchtime for a couple of drinks. This is the second time but no more. A man, the same on both occasions standing at bar had the foulest loud mouth He was actually talking to the barman and two others Every other word began with "f' He had a dog with him This time he pulled seat out at one of the tables for his dog to sit at Absolutely disgusting. My husband mentioned to barman who grinned and apologised Not good enough

UPDATE 16.08.24: I had not returned here since my review several years previous, but today (heading home from Morpeth Crem sadly!) I popped in for two rehydrating Stella. It was late Friday afternoon and not so much was on the cards. Good drinkers were clearly in however, and the vibe though somewhat cool was sound. Prices were as you'd expect. It's still a decent looking bar with several HD telly screens pumping the sports out and the staff were A1. I hit the joint last Sunday night with a few hours left of precious ale consumption time remaining. It's not a part of town I hit regularly, living in the NE6 area, though it's considered to be quite a nice stop off indeed. There are several other very well known boozers close by, so prices are quite steep but still within competitive rates amongst the others. There is a mix of the seemingly coined up, the coined up who keep it mostly low key and the regular Joe's and Josephine's. Amongst this lot there are of course fools and coolios in abundance. It's well worth a stop off if you're passing by.

Be warned about this pub and the disgusting attitude of the manager and be warned of the car park which will cost you £100 if you forget to register. They have a pizza van who retails from the premises but do not want you about the car park charges, we stopped for pizza and went into the pub for a drink while we waited as pizza wasn’t ready. The drinks especially mine was flat and they said it’s always like that. Got our pizza and left after 30 mins and received a parking fine weeks later, we spoke to the pub directly as we were told she could help squash the ticket and we had luckily paid for the pizza by card so had proof of purchase. The manageress wasn’t interested and could be bothered to check the cctv and I supplied the date and time etc, horrible unprofessional and I guess the pub must do well from the parking fines. They refuse to warn people on the Facebook advertising of the pizza seller van etc etc as I’ve asked them to remind customers of the pizza van but they refuse, disgusting way to treat honest customers.

Got told to buy something so bought a coke for £3.20 and to be honest it was disgusting was really watered down then 1 minute after buying it got told i had to leave and the owner was very hostile by swearing at us and snatching my drink off me that i payed for also a bald man told my friend to come car park for a fight. It was a horrible experience would 100% not recommend don’t go to the horrible place.

A few weeks after my first (and only) trip to “The Seven Stars” I was served with a £100 parking fine. I called the pub to discuss, explaining that I had been a paying customer on the evening in question. I was told that I should have registered my car and, if I had any evidence of payment, I could WRITE a LETTER to the third-party parking company to appeal against the decision. To be honest, it was all rather dismissive. I asked if this was really the experience that the pub wanted their customers to have and questioned why this requirement wasn’t brought to the attention of customers by staff or signage. I was told that there were signs “everywhere” warning of the need to register a car (there really aren’t) and that there was nothing else they could do. At this point, the person on the other end of the line just put the phone down on me – rather confirming my point about ‘poor customer experiences’. All-in-all – very disappointing. There are plenty of other places to go in Ponteland. I will try them. You might want to as well.

I called in twice for a drink before and after a meal in Ponteland. The before drink at 5pm on Saturday was fine with the service being great and the staff being friendly. The after meal drink was a different story at 7.30pm. I queued at the bar for 10 minutes before being served, the staff were under extreme pressure from customers waiting, empty glasses all over the bar and when I did get served the drink was served in a plastic glass.

Visited the pub for a work meeting with a few colleagues. Bad experience from start to finish, we were ignored at the bar when trying to answer, the bar woman was preoccupied by other customers at the end of the bar. Overhearing inappropriate conversations wasn’t ideal when with potential clients and then when we finally ordered, it took a while to be brought over to the table and was luke warm, very disappointing experience.

With being one of our closer local pubs, I visited for some mid day drinks with my partner. We were shocked and appalled at the way the bar staff spoke to other customers. From what we could hear, the young ladies who came in and bought a drink were talking to the middle aged woman behind the bar about what sounded like her inappropriate behaviour outside of work (not relevant to this post) however, the way she responded in regards to her attitude and tone of voice (despite what was being said) was out of order to paying customers. We won’t be returning and will be telling our neighbours in Belsay village to not waste their money here either until they change their staff!! What a disappointing Sunday.

Visited the pub on Saturday night. What an awful experience. Waited ages to be served, the staff who were working were totally unprofessional and rude. The manager had a bad attitude and wasn’t very welcoming on arrival. The bar server, served us after waiting awhile as she was more focused on flirting with the men at the end of the bar.

It was first anniversary of mums death, so decided to go out to raise a toast to Mary. Sign outside pub saying car park full. We only plan to have one drink, so pull on to the parking space outside, where the food van parks. Drank about a third of our drink, and go out to have a cigarette. Bar maid comes out me asks if anyone has a silver Audi, (ours is dark grey), and gives a registration that resembles ours, so we ask what the problem is, and she says we can’t park there, fair enough, we’ll just finish our cigarette and we’ll move it. Seconds later, this woman in slippers blocks our path to move the car and starts swearing at us asking if we’re thick. Apparently it’s her night off, and they’ve asked us to move several times. So she’s had her night disturbed. Considering we’d been there maybe 20 mins maximum, and we weren’t blocking anyone - they regularly have vehicles parked there - completely uncalled for tirade of abuse. Would not recommend this pub at all. Took photos of us returning to car, showing registration and posted on Facebook with verbally abusive headlines. Deleted my response to her abuse. Absolute chav of a woman. Completely ruined our special night.

Look, I like a down to earth pub as much as anyone. The service here is fine, though how four barstaff can allow a queue to develop is beyond me. The beer is fine wth the local Rivet Catcher being excellent, and they have an interesting selection of spirits. But, the chairs and seating is old and held together with tape and with holes in it. Considering the money they take, surely they can provide somewhere decent to sit. No food by the way other than a pizza van once a week.

Visited this pub on way back from Newcastle. Nice pub and good atmosphere but spoilt by bar staff not accepting Scottish notes as apparently they had some forgeries. How can this happen as Scottish notes are now plastic. Only 30 miles from the Scottish border and they didn’t accept them, never had this problem before in Northumberland or Newcastle. Come on Ponteland, get a grip. This will discourage Scott ish visitors from spending money in your town and there’s plenty passing through on the way to the airport. Not good enough!

Went back to the ordering area but had to wait while the two members of staff were discussing overtime hours with another member of staff. After going back to the table my husband who had an ‘americano’ needed more cold milk. Once again went to ask for some but must wait while one assistant was showing the other how to fill a serviette dispenser. Poor service and TEABAGS AT £2.60 EACH - Shame on you MARKS AND SPENCER.

Stopped off for breakfast and found automation had caught up with Morrisons, in the form of an automated ordering system. Finding our way around the screen wasn't quite as easy as big Mac and KFC equivalents but we did manage it, only just. Wanting to pay by cash, however, was even more difficult as the robot doesn't accept anything except credit cards so customer, much against the chagrin, had to use plastic. The breakfasts, when they arrived, was excellent and without doubt value for plastic.

Nice little hotel bar right on the Main Street of Alnwick I had drink several times during our stay in Alnwick. Margaret had the chilli which she said was nice. I wasn’t hungry so had the potato skins which came with a barbecue sauce and garlic mayo, which were ok but out of a bottle.

The cafe prices are ludicrous. £3.45 for a toasted tea cake with barely any fruit in it is ridiculous as is a fiver for two cups of tea and £9 for a cooked breakfast!! The staff are not the most pleasant either. Sadly the shop and garden centre prices are way off the scale too compared to most other garden centres. Definitely would not recommend or revisit.
