Come on holiday every year and always visit The Leaping Salmon on a few occasions. Lovely food and really friendly staff. See you next year 👍

Staff very friendly, couldn't do enough for us especially Sammy and Callum,food excellent been a few times over the years while on holiday highly recommend a visit.

Just had the best baked potato ever. And beer prices are best in town with very friendly staff.. What's not to like. Defo my go to place when in town 👌

Beer (Tennants lager) perfect, food very disappointing. Loaded jacket potato with beef chilli - a few red kidney beans, no beef!! and very stringy cheese. Don't think I'll be back . Wish it still belonged to Spoons.

Mature couple on holiday day out. October Place to wait for the bus !. Pint of ale and a a small glass of wine £8.60.. that was a decent price. Its nice and tastefully decorated in side. Free pool on Tuesday!

Was here last Sunday lunchtime my wife and another couple for about 5 hours great bar staff had bus load leaving for Kelso racing but delt with the pressure fine

Nice place, unfortunately some very loud people. Seems to be the only pub open for lunch. The food was good and the staff were very pleasant.

Lovley lunch menu the staff were absolutely brilliant 👏 helpful and very friendly, good service.

My God. What a tired place. The staff may be well underpaid but they need to apply themselves better. I paid £4 more for round from previous pub the Barrels which is fabulous..by the way.

Excellent value for a good value meal and drink.Great place to stop and rest if you are walking around the town walls, it’s only about 50 metres from the town walls walk on the river side, by the main bridge over the river Tweed. You can’t park outside the Leaping Salmon,you have to park in one of the towns car parks (not to far away) you can drop off someone outside the pub in the bus pull in stop if your are quick!.

Beautifully place on berwick Bridge recently went there Sammy was lovely we had the best steak ale pie mash beg gravy then we had sticky toffee pudding and icecream very nice place and food

Not a normal weather spoons 37 pound for 2 large breakfast 1 small 1 coffee no refill half of orange cordial and my pint of coors would normal cost me at about 21 pounds plus my lass would have got a refill

It is not a jd Wetherspoon anymore so the food and drink is a bit pricey Etc

Asked if the steak pie was puff pastry when ordering, they said yes.. pie arrived in short crust. Had a mixed grill, meat was very dry. Definitely won't return

Visiting the area from Yorkshire We needed somewhere to eat and came across this place by chance boy am I glad we did the staff were wonderful the food was excellent and the price even better oh and the lady serving behind the bar thank you for being so friendly if only everyone was like you.

Attended lunch time Saturday 31/8/24 ordered baked potato with chilli beef ,cheese and doritos Bowl arrived at table couldn't see potato as it was covered in cheese and spring onion and broken dorito chips Digging into bowl it was difficult to find and beef 3 chilli beans located Spoke to staff who said there were traces of chilli.in bowl but would ask kitchen to put a spoonful on ,I mentioned it was complete lack of chilli just cheese onion and broken chips she replied it says it comes with cheese I left in disgust

Booked twice here whilst staying on Berwick. The man in control of the food part is very organised and efficient. Great food, value for money and the kids portions are huge considering I have 2 big eaters. Thank you leaping salmon we will be back next time we visit Berwick.

Absolutely dreadful. Kids nachos were about 6 Doritos with 4g of cheese and some BBQ ketchup. The cheese and bacon burger was embarrassing. This doesn't allow me to post the photo I took (see trip advisor for that), one off cut of bacon, about 4cm. Wine was very poor quality too. We weren't asked if meals were okay by staff. Would never return.

Waiting for food spoilt it for me party of 6 3 wanted desert had to wait 30mins by which time nobody wanted it

Much better now it is not a Wetherspoon's. (Old review). Also they serve an 8 pint tower of beer, so that has to be a points upgrade.😁

A friendly pub which is not a Wetherspoons thank goodness. A wide variety of lagers, ales, wines, spirits and cocktails. A big menu with lots of options for vegetarians and some vegan options too. Really good value for money. Friendly waiting staff, Jordan was friendly and there was a good vibe between staff.

The food wasn't great with very dry chicken for the kids burger and the chicken melt. The kids meals were bigger than the adult meal. I'm not sure if it was worth the money. It was so busy with only one person clearing tables and serving food I didn't want to add to her problems by sending the food back.

Family of 3 needed feeding. The place has that old style local pub feel but clean and friendly. Bar staff were chatty. Food was great and well priced

The Place was great, the food looked very nice, drinks were reasonable and for the most part the staff were very friendly. Unfortunately my wife and her friend felt uncomfortable being letched over by the dark haired skinny barman (Callum) so we left before ordering food... wouldn't go back. To top it off during our short stay the barman also told a customer to wait until after his shift so he could stab him!!! Whether this was in jest or not, read the room, listen to the news... inappropriate behaviour at any time. I don't like leaving negative reviews but August 20th would have been this fellas last shift if he worked for me!

Just had breakfast here and I must say it was perfect. Think they must have a new way of cooking the sausages as they were ten out of ten. Amanda on the bar was very polite and friendly, would highly recommend.

The food was OK but the service absolutely shocking went as a family of 7 sat down table had salt and few other food bits on it asked bar tender if he could get someone to clean our table got no reply to then about 5 minutes later to ask the man serving food of he could clean our table so we can order food to be told when o get a chance I found this totally unacceptable as a reply still no clean table so we changed table considering we payed about 100 pound for food a drinks will not be returning service absolute shocking food average

Great food, good service by Jen! We had burgers and chips, very tasty. They also serve some fairly local beer, which gives an extra plus.

Loud swearing groups of adults ruined what would have been a lovely family meal. Portions HUGE. Staff lovely and friendly. Service prompt and the place was a little tired but kept clean and neat. Great for an affordable road trip stop. No car park but a free one close by.

Went in today as looked nice. Had to clear out own tablet but didn't really mind. Went to the bar to order as couldn't get app to work. Only one man there being served and when she had finished serving him another man walked up and was served right away even though the girl had looked at me twice. I though I was maybe standing in the wrong place or something but there was nothing to say and there was a till in front of me. Again once she had finished serving that man and before I got the chance to say anything she asked a woman who had just walyup what she would like. Fuming

A down to earth Weatherspoons type place. Staff decent and chatty and drink reasonably priced. Food was OK as was expected (it's not fine dining), good-sized portions, and spacious area. Had more than a few gins after exploring Berwick areas of interest.

Hi me and my daughters were in here on Tuesday for lunch but I must say it was really disappointing especially my meal. I had sausage mash and peas. The mash wasn't proper mash it was like it was pureed so please try make mash properly the sausages were pretty poor aswel.

No staff, ran out of many beers, waited over 40 mins for a drink despite going to bar and being assured ours would be next. Went to bar drinks not been made up yet barmaid serving people at bar. Glasses every where. Ended up leaving and getting a refund

Great place to relax after the trek. Selection of beers, good coffee and great atmosphere. We did not taste the food due to the short time, but the offer looked very tempting.

Will def be back . After staying close by for a week n eating junk food, had a lovely Sunday lunch with our wee family . Youngest had two main portions. This is an absolutely amazing restaurant the staff as well as the bar lady was absolutely phenomenal it's dog friendly and they have water stations as well as treats for your dogs

As an ex weatherspoons it seems to aspire to that former level. It was telling when we were advised (by a local patron) to 'take the batteries off our bikes before leaving them chained up securely'. Read into that what you will 😄

Food was awful, all frozen food, got all day breakfast was disgusting,and steak and chips, steak came in 3 little pieces was fatty and tough, waited 40mins to be disappointed, wont be going back, and sitting next to 2 people coughing and sneezing didnt help, would not recommend.

We had a lovely lunch staff friendly and helpful food good, 😊 would recommend the two meal deal,as it was plenty for lunch

Been a few times when we go to Berwick holiday camp the food is good and reasonably priced and the staff are really nice.

Typical pub, nice location and well priced. Nothing crazy but does a good lunch, lots of variety.

Ok pint of real ale but would not rush here. Bland, run of the mill pub with food that is just ok.

Really good food, priced reasonably for the area. In general the cleanliness could be better though.

We used the my pub app to book our table on arrival there was no book on their system I showed the lady our booking reference then she did find it.we also ordered our food and drinks through the app which I found easy enough to do the drinks arrived fairly quickly then food followed shortly after. the food was great and we all enjoyed it 😋 if I was to complain about anything it would be someone near us was vaping near us and one of our tables was sticky apart from this we enjoyed our food and drink thank very much P.S. ALL THE STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL

Ordered two pints of lager at the bar and was served by a heavy built guy in his late twenties. At first I wasn't paying any attention when the lager was being poured but after a minute or so I turned round to see the barman pouring slops out of a transparent tuperware container into my pint. Just a heads up to anyone else who frequents this pub that this practice is carried out.

Stayed at haggerston castle where the food was rank.came here hoping it'd be nice.but this was just as bad.wont be returning sorry

Very busy pub on a Saturday afternoon. Good staff and good beer.

Came in and it was really busy. Manager showed us to a table that was recently vacated and cleaned it for us. Amazing service despite being busy and cant fault for value!

Football was on, so it wasn't a quiet meal for us. Lively atmosphere. Our table hadn't been cleaned, and lots of food debris was scattered underneath our table, which was very visible and never addressed. We ordered scampi, chips, and peas with tartare sauce. Arrived on paper on the plate (very quickly) minus the tartare sauce. We ate and went without pondering without requesting the tartare sauce. We probably wouldn't return if in Berwick-upon-Tweed again, but there were many happy regulars there.

Worst pint of Timothy Tailor's Landlord I've ever had the misfortune of drinking. No idea what they did to it, couldn't finish it 😞

Really friendly and helpful barstaff, chilled relaxed atmosphere with lovely food, dog friendly (water and treats provide). Would definately recommend this bar.
