The best restaurants in Northumberland North East

Lovely little tea room in the middle of Alnwick, with great food, friendly staff and fab service and would highly recommend.

Both had lamb which was lovely and came with really delicious veg including cauliflower cheese and perfect roasties. Excellent sticky toffee pudding too. Service was good and the staff extremely helpful and pleasant, despite being very busy. Husband asked for ice cream with dessert as well as the cream and mentioned it was his birthday. They produced a plate with 'Happy Birthday' on it with a bowl of ice cream on the side! What a lovely gesture. Highly recommend this lovely place. Upstairs dining room is gorgeous.

Excellent food, service and decor. Great value for money Sunday lunches, large portions and reasonable prices. Competitive beer pricing and good cocktail choices with local ingredients.

Wonderful welcome and they looked after my dog like noone else. Food was great, staff were great. Nothing to complain about. Definitely recommend

What a welcoming, hospitable place. If you ever need cheering up, this is the place to go. We were made welcome immediately, and tony the owner had us in stiches from the start. Everyone there were so friendly, and what had started as an intended short visit, led to us staying to closing. Met some brilliant characters, who all just made our day. Dog friendly too, which was an added bonus to us. Can't recommend enough.

Having walked through Seahouses, checking every menu and eatery, we came across the Seahouses Café and what a find that turned out to be! Extremely friendly and obliging staff on hand, excellent service and BRILLIANT food! The decision you need to make is not whether you should try it but what on earth to select from the menu. Oh...and I haven't mentioned the home made desserts yet, which are to die for! Did we enjoy it...you bet!

Our first visit and a local recommendation. Yes it was a Saturday night and it was busy but sadly, as we had a taxi booked, our meal took so long to arrive, we had to rush it. The food was great it’s just a shame we couldn’t fully enjoy it. We allowed a good hour and 45 mins and only had a popadom plate to start then a main course, we felt this was sufficient time. Food was good enough to go back, hopefully on a quieter night when we can fully appreciate it.

Best ice cream ever! Even a play area for the children to let off some steam and lovely staff members who were serving me ice cream!

Stopped in just after lunch for a sandwich and a cup of tea. The sandwich was lovely - really fresh and tasty, and the service was excellent. Plus they had an amazing selection of cakes available.

Very warm and welcoming staff, the paninis were excellent and there was a lovely relaxed atmosphere. Good location next to the river. Very nice 👍

Second time we have visited and stayed, everything about this place is amazing. Views, rooms and the food is to die for really can’t stress how fantastic this place is. Close to kielder observatory it’s a must visit

I had an oil painting stretched and framed here recently. Very impressed and will use again. Thoroughly recommend. Staff were excellent, from desk staff, to delivery man and workmanship excellent, cant fault.
