Small bistro with a variety of dishes in offer including vegetarian options. Decent wine list. Chef owned so the food is tasty and delightful.

What a little gem this place is, we had a fabulous meal and although it was a quiet night, the owner Chico made us very welcome, the food was very good and we thoroughly enjoyed our lovely meal. Lovely chat afterwards with Chico, even had some friends in common. Very nice ambience and spotless clean, cannot fault anything, we will be back when we net visit the area.

Called in for breakfast before heading home from our hols. What a lovely place very relaxing and friendly. We both had the full Northumberland breakfast and it was lovely. My only regret is we didn’t find it at the beginning of our holiday !!! Would definitely recommend.

A pleasant cafe offering hot and cold snacks meals and homemade cakes. Has hot and cold drinks also a full bar. The staff are friendly.

Having visited for lunch we decided to book for dinner the following evening. We arrived a bit late for lunch but that wasn't a problem. Amazing soup and sandwiches and under no pressure to leave on completion. Chico served us a fabulous dinner and afterwards enjoyed conversation with him. Would highly recommend.

We were staying nearby and this cafe had been recommended by friends who had previously visited. We booked lunch and we advised that one of our party was coeliac. On arrival the owner produced some beautiful cheese rolls and when asked if the fries were gluten free, he stated that he would put new oil in a pan and deliver gluten free fries. Not only was the food of a high standard but the customer service was extraordinary. So good we went back the following day and experienced the same high standard of service and food. Well done

We went for breakfast however it was not great. The coffee quality was poor and overall breakfast sandwich we ordered I could have made better myself. The mushrooms and hash brown on my breakfast tasted almost like it has been heated up from another day it didn’t taste fresh. Overall disappointed

My first ever 1 star review. Went in at 3:40 and asked if a small family group could come in for tea and cake. The young lad said”not really” . I’ve just set up for dinner! So we went to place down the road and spent our £50 there. Glad they are so busy in late October to turn away customers

This wee restaurant was just along from our accommodation. It provided the perfect evening out - not too far to walk, lovely choice of food, friendly staff and……..they let dogs in! What’s not to like! Thank you for a relaxing evening!

We arrived here after reading great reviews and eagerly seeing the tapas deal they had advertised outside on signs. We sat down to order and requested the tapas deal to be immediately told it wasn’t available, potentially understandable given we went in midweek (however not too sure why it was still being advertised outside). We then asked for a few minutes to examine the menu..The table next to us were served and requested the ploughman’s lunch to be told they had no pork pies which left them having to further examine the menu. We then went through the menu ourselves to find an alternative to tapas and requested their cod sandwich, the waiter then went to the kitchen to check availability to only come back and announce they had no fish whatsoever left.. this was strange given the majority of the menu included fish which left an extremely limited menu. We’d heard enough and left, overall incredibly disappointing experience after such high hopes.

You know when you find one of those places so good that you're not really sure if you want to share it? Telling everyone might make it more tricky to get into for yourself. Salt Water Café is that place. We popped in expecting 'nice' food, but had our collective minds blown by some of the best seafood we'd ever tasted. So we booked for the next night too. And had the stuff we couldn't fit in the night before. Which was just as superb. The chefs on both nights made gluten-free dishes from scratch for us - nothing was too much trouble. To pick one item feels slightly unfair to the others, however, the gluten-free seafood chowder is one best dishes any waiter has ever put in front of me.

Excellent breakfast, once again. Very consistently good food here. Had a lovely Tapas lunch, too. Excellent value and good choice.

We went there for breakfast after reading the positive reviews. Unfortunately the food was disappointing. One of us had a full English which was just ok. After being told that there were no cheese scones, even though they were on the menu, two of us had croissants which looked and tasted like Pilsbury crescent rolls. They were small and doughy, not like croissants at all, which for the price was inexcusable. The espresso drinks we had were weak and tasteless.

On holiday in beadnell, have walked past the cafe on other visits but it’s always been closed , so delighted it was open , had an evening meal which was delicious , the chef and waitress were lovely and welcoming , would highly recommend.

We had breakfast twice here while we were holidaying in Beadnell. The food was excellent and the staff lovely too. Check out the mirrors in the loo they are fabulous!

The sun was setting and the sky was painted with hues of orange and pink, creating a picturesque backdrop as we sat in this cosy seafood inspired bistro. The ambiance was romantic with soft music playing in the background and candle-lit tables. We ordered some fresh black tiger prawns, potted lime and chilli crab to start and then the local fish chowder. My husband hat the 10oz sirloin and we savoured every bite. The food was cooked to perfection and melted in our mouths. It was a splendid evening, and we left with satisfied appetites, fond memories, and a yearning to return
