Very friendly and helpful staff. We eat here regularly whenever we are in Amble and always find the ladies helpful and friendly. The food is well presented and tasty homemade. They welcome well behaved dogs and humans and the whole ambience is pleasant and relaxed

Found this cafe quite by accident but went in as it was full. Soon got a table which was quickly cleaned by efficient staff. Good menu, proper home cooked food at very reasonable prices. All staff very good and friendly with visitors and locals alike. Hope to return again.

Visited twice during a week away in November. Good home cooked food, extremely well priced, friendly and even gave my Labrador a sausage. Very relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended

We've been here for lunch ever since the world opened up again after COVID. First time was because we couldn't find anywhere else with a spare table. Last your and this it was because we wanted to. Very impressed with the service and the food. It's where the locals go.

Called in for breakfast with some friends before setting off home after a short break. Mega breakfast was great with 2 of everything. Bacon and hash browns particularly good. Lost one star for the sausages which were basic and cheap but overall would recommend. Service good and friendly and owner had a bit of a joke with us. Prices very reasonable.

Very good covid practice in place. Been for lunch and coffee/tea-cake. Menu is what you would expect, sandwiches and simple lunches etc, good portions. On second visit staff seemed stressed which dampened the atmosphere a little. Would still go back though. Covid etc very difficult for everyone.

Easy, good food, very engaging staff and nothing was too much trouble. The staff gave us time and took the trouble to guide through our visit to Amble.

Cosy little spot, simple and relaxed. Extremely friendly staff and customers (Amble people are generally so nice and welcoming). Had a light lunch for four with drinks and it was less than £20. Dog friendly and our two puppies got a free sausage from the lady there. Really great place, we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend

We had lunch here today, the most recent of several visits. I always leave feeling happy and well fed! It is a traditional café with items like corned beef pie with chips and gravy, or cheese and onion pie with salad and coleslaw, or soup and sandwiches. No frills but decent, filling food, served with friendliness. I love the fact that they offer to fill your teapot without you having to ask. And a visiting dog was offered a sausage snack too. It's a local café that does what it does to the highest standards and I recommend it.

Popped in for breakfast whilst staying in Amble. We enjoyed both meat and veggie breakfasts, cooked to perfection and great value. The friendly staff were enjoying banter with their regulars. Everything you want from a small cafe.

We visited this café when we arrived at Amble and were pleased to see that it wasn’t crammed full of people from the local caravan park. I enjoyed a brilliant corned beef pie and the gravy was unbelievably good. Overall, this was a nice local café.

We stopped in Amble on the way back home from Berwick. We saw the *Dog Friendly* sign outside the cafe and went in. We ordered our food and drinks and sat down. While we waited for our food, we were asked if the dogs would like a sausage, of course they didn’t refuse.

We stopped at this cafe today for a late lunch & wish we hadn't bothered! Poor quality ingredients served on the Mega Breakfast & at £6.95 it didn't come cheap. The sausages were probably the worst we had ever had & we've eaten a lot of sausages in our 60+ years. Everything on the plate was of a poor quality, pretty bland & not worthy of a better review! We We noticed that the man sitting at the next table left most of his Mega Breakfast, so it wasn't just us who found it not to our taste. Would we go here again - no! Would we recommend this cafe - no!

The cafe is clean and staff are friendly. It has a good menu with inexpensive food. Our group had paninis and bacon sandwiches - all were served with a smile and a chat - and all were deliicious. Dogs are very welcome and ours was served a sausage !! We will return when we visit Amble next year.

Called in for a takeaway sandwich yesterday for work (I am rediculously picky) they didn't make their cheese savoury sandwich filling the way I liked it as I don't like mayo but Bev kindly offered to knock some up just how I wanted using salad cream instead and it was no bother at all, staff was lovely polite and very welcoming and although the sandwich was for me for work it never made it their as I was so anxious to try it I pulled over and ate the whole thing before I got their and it was absolutely amazing. So amazing that I went back again today and the other staff went out their way to make it for me too. Again it was absolutely lush. Will Deffo be going back. Thank you.

A simple cafe with a good inexpensive menu. I asked for a baked potato with tuna, and it was served with a generous salad. Cheerful and friendly staff delivering great service. Well behaved dogs welcome in the cafe. Judging be the banter, many customers were regulars.

Warkworth has a small nucleus of great places to eat, and we'd never tried Bertrams, so we went. It was a no brainer given the quality of other reviews. The only downside was that we had to get in and out early so were nearly the first people in hence little "atmosphere" but that was our agenda not the restaurant, and we were there for the food... ... which was first class. Superb hake served with a beautiful herby crab pate and dauphinoise potatoes. The flavours were immense and everything was cooked to perfection. You notice the difference with real quality and top chef standards and this delivered for me. The lemon meringue dessert was the proverbial icing on the metaphorical cake. Superb.

My cousin and I were hugely impressed by Castaways. I had been reluctant to go because about 20 years ago the original café had been taken over by a useless couple. But when I passed and looked in, I could see that its original atmosphere had been recreated by the current management. Our reception was very friendly. The café was full (always a good sign) and we were third in the queue. Our table was soon ready and we were seatedby a waitress. We were very comfortable and the atmosphere was nice. Many pleasant people there as customers happily dining and chatting. Good choice of food and drink. I had the traditional breakfast and my cousin had… I think it was avocado and egg on sourdough bread. We were both very content with our lunch. I will certainly return and bring members of my family to enjoy castaways. Nicely sited, easy car parking and great views over Seaton Sluice and the sea. Get yourself along there and have a treat!
