Great staff and service and the chilli prawn sagawala is a culinary masterpiece! Spicy but not too much, really excellent

Fabulous food. Amran and his staff are accommodating and friendly. Even made me my favourite which wasn’t on the menu. Highly recommend this restaurant.

My meal was unusual and excellent, tandoori aubergine which was crisp on the outside and melting in the middle. Friendly waiter, too

Popped in on the off chance and were very pleasantly surprised. Friendly staff were attentive and not pushy. Food lovely, and not just the normal range. Will go again when in Berwick.

We are currently staying at Haggerston Castle for a short break and we prefer to eat out of the resort in the evenings. We visited Amran’s tonight with our 3 year old which was about a 15 minute drive from where we are staying. The food, service and price was excellent. Would highly recommend a visit.

Quick stopover en route to Edinburgh So please I did. Probably eaten literally thousands of onion bhaji in my time and pretty sure these are the best I have ever tasted. Fresh, crisply cooked and aft and flavoursome in the middle. Outstanding. Special chicken bhuna with egg rice which was also very good. The peshwari nan was a delight. Moist coconut and a hint of mango. £25 for the lot. I thought the portion of curry was a little mean but I’m greedy. I finished the lot and now can’t move so maybe they got it just right. Coming back here at every opportunity. So should you. Waiter was a nice lad too. Fantastic

The best curry place I’ve ever been to! Great service and friendly staff. The toilets were much cleaner than average. The food was excellent and incredibly fresh. Only slightly more expensive than an average Indian restaurant but deservedly so. Hot hand wipes and after dinner mints provided alongside the bill. Overall an amazing experience!

Excellent food. Can really recommend the street style lamb on the bone with naan bread. Really good service in a modern environment

Brilliant service and amazing food!!

Friendly welcome and low-key atmosphere. I enjoyed the food and would have given 5 stars except the waiter I had didn’t seem very experienced and didn’t converse well when I asked him advice. I wasn’t offered the usual poppodoms etc. that most Indian restaurants suggest. Also my G & T was very ‘no-frills’. My prawns were nice but were meant to be sizzling and they weren’t really sizzling on arrival. However, the dhal was the best I’ve had anywhere and the peshwari nan also excellent.

Food fantastic Great service 10 out of 10 we ask for recommendations and we was not disappointed. We had two young boys who lived the food two .

A good standard for a restaurant, loved the Bollywood movie that was on whilst we chose from the menu, the menu was large but not too large that it fried your brain. Good house specialities and friendly service

No issue dining in but delivery was an issue. Set menu was not value for money at £30+ to the door. Mains were all sauce with a tiny rice between two and only 4 small pieces of meat per dish. Quality of food was fine but definitely meagre portioning to maximise profit…..

This was one of the best Indian meals I've ever had!! There were so many dishes I'd not had before and everything we tried was incredible. Favourite thing was the salmon starter - out of this world! Staff were so lovely too and looked after us brilliantly, catering to our dietary requirements really well. Would absolutely go back!!

Refused to acknowledge a booking already accepted online. Offered a main course only but pappadoms were out of the question. Unbelievable! Turned down a booking for 10 adults at 9.15 on a Saturday night. They must be doing really well. I wonder if the owner was working?

Visited Berwick on holiday tried this Indian and absolutely pleased with it. Delicious food very unique combination and dishes . Dishes are very tasty and definitely not like other regular tomato paste curry sauce restaurants. I had chicken with panner which I have not tried in other restaurants it’s delicious. My wife is vegan and had vegan Korma which is delicious too she loved it . Their are loads of varieties on menu like stuffed aubergines etc , will try them on next visit. If you are in Bewick fancy a Indian definitely try this place .

Booked a table and got seated politely. We ordered vegetable pakora for starter and to my surprise I bit into it and felt a crack on my composite bonding (never cracked in the 2 years they have been done) and found this (picture attached) inside the pakora?! It was solid and certainly not edible! The server advised it was to add flavour, I told him how hard it was and surely it was not edible. After speaking to another member of staff, he came back to apologise and advised it was not meant to be in any form of food intake. The pakora was exchanged and we advised him we did not want it after our first experience, however, he said the chef will be sad if you don’t and boxed it for us to take home?! A new tooth later, I would not eat from here again and take that risk.

Busy little restaurant this one, lovely staff who were very attentive in getting us what we wanted and we really enjoyed it. One of the best places to eat in Berwick. Also very good value and nicely presented food.

Went here mid week with my son, without booking. Excellent food and service. Prices were reasonable. The onion bhajis were lovely. The chicken tikka pathia lovely too. If I was in Berwick-upon-Tweed again, I would certainly revisit.

Visited during a stay for work on the recommendation of several locals - and they weren't wrong! Despite them being unusually busy for a Thursday they found us a table for three after only a 10 minute wait. Service was very friendly, and the food was fantastic. Everyone at our table thoroughly enjoyed it, and our waiter's recommendation for one of us was spot on. If I'm ever in Berwick again I won't hesitate to come back. Fantastic food, I can't recommend highly enough!

Tried this place for a takeaway as it seemed to have decent reviews, whilst staying at haggerston Castle. Ordered a set meal, with a tikka masala and jalfresi. My son and sister in law shared the jalfresi. And both woke up being violently sick during the night with suspected food poisoning. Very annoyed and disappointed as it has made our journey back home today a very difficult one! Avoid!!

A really popular Indian restaurant in Berwick-upon-Tweed. On my first visit it was really busy, but they found me a single table . Really friendly and helpful staff. Service was prompt, and the food I selected was excellent. Worth a visit if you are staying in Berwick, or passing through.

Went there for in laws Wedding Anniversary and they were very impressed. Food service atmosphere fantastic and having a good crack with Ashraf about cricket topped off the evening

Visited Amrans whilst visiting friends and family. Very clean, bright and airy,. Excellent fresh food with excellent service . Nice touch to spell the name in the sauce. The usual dishes with some interesting specials. Recommend the Sizzling Tandoori Extravaganza but would have been better with a sauce too. Chicken Korma cooked to perfection, not too creamy or sickly.

We decided to eat out on our weekend away in Berwick-upon-Tweed and we chose Amrans. It was our first time there and the first thing we noticed was that we were served very quickly and taken to our table. My wife had the prawn korma and I had the tandoori extravaganza. We both really enjoyed the food, I especially enjoyed mine which I thought was the best tandoori I've had. Really good service, great food and competitive prices.

Absolout begeistert! Fantastische Speisekarte, mit mehr als nur den standard Gerichten, die man in jedem indischen Restaurant findet. Darüber hinaus wurde hier auch auf Extrawünsche eingegangen. Meine Partnerin verträgt kein scharfes Essen, nichtmal mit minimaler Schärfe. Auch hier wurde komplett auf ihren Wunsch eingegangen und sie hat eine sehr milde Form, ihres ausgewählten Gerichtes erhalten. Doch nicht nur die Küche war exellent. Der Service war überaus freundlich und sehr aufmerksam! Ich hoffe dieser Laden wird noch sehr lange existieren. Ich habe mir vorgenommen, bei jedem Berwick Besuch hier vorbei zu kommen!

Two great meals at a reasonable cost. Pappadoms with accompaniments Onion Bhaji & Meat Chapattis Chicken Tikka & Chicken Biriyani (Madras Sauce) Plain Nann. Bhaji, best I've had for a long time. £45 with two large Kingfishers.

Great food. Very spicy! Loved it.

First visit, Saturday night, with my wife. Very busy but asked to come back in 40 minutes. Went for a cheeky pint in the Brown Bear. Returned to a window table and we both then enjoyed an excellent meal of poppadoms, dips, naan bread, pilau rice and two chef's specials. Lovely friendly welcoming staff, good food, washed down with a couple of large bottles of Kingfisher beers. Great

Starter tandoori chicken was good friends Prawn puree OK, sure prawns were frozen as tasteless. Tandoori prawns okn, came with chips ! Friend had korma & that was mediocre, Garlic naan was 1 of the best, pilau rice was awful. Staff could do with a personality transplant, not sure if I would return

We spent £36, which we thought was reasonable. Got home and found, half a bag of chips, our lamb curry, only filled half a container . The starters, not enough, 4 bits of very small pakora which where soggy. . All in all very poor..

We consider ourselves very lucky to have found this restaurant and takeaway on a windy, rainy night. The atmosphere was cheerful and convivial, and all the staff were polite and helpful. They dealt with our allergy enquiries with sensitivity and provided a specially cooked alternative. My mother-in-law pronounced her Korma the best she had ever tasted. We particularly enjoyed the peshwari nan. Everything was delicious and we would certainly visit again. Highly recommended. Sorry I didn't take any photos as I was really hungry and forgot to grab any first!

Was visiting the area , we always like to have an Indian meal in different places we visit. Must say this was one of the better ones. Clean fresh interior with friendly efficient staff. The food was excellent too , lovely mixed kebab and a very spicy madras highly recommended

Great food, great staff and excellent service

Amazing food. Recently ate here with our two children after being let down at our holiday resort. The husband and my daughter really enjoyed the masala. Our youngest enjoyed the child menu nuggets and I thoroughly enjoyed the biryani (which is by far one of the best biryani's I have ever tasted!) Absolutely superb. Service was good, apparently best time to attend is weekends... We will absolutely be back.

Really tasty, fresh, glorious food. My lamb biriani came with a super sauce. The lentil dish I ordered complimented it well and was so much more exciting than the usual tarka deal. Our favourite Indian restaurant, I've both eaten in and had a takeaway from here and never had a bad meal, staff are always friendly with efficient and helpful service and the food is always cooked perfectly and full of flavour.

This is one of the best Indians I’ve ever had. Incredible taste, freshness, and selection of dishes. Wonderfully friendly waiters, and lovely clean environment. Will come back here even though I live over an hour away!

Worth its money Me and my family and grandparents and aunty and uncle went to Amrans for my 14th birthday and it was absolutely amazing the staff were so polite food was amazing and they even sang me happy birthday the service here was great. I highly recommend coming here for food or anything it was absolutely delicious

We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel that we were staying at and wandering around for a little while we made our mind up, we saw the restaurant and decided to try their food. Best decision we made that day. The staff were faultless with their attitude and attentiveness. But above all that, the food served up was absolutely stunning, from presentation to the taste. Can’t remember the last time I enjoyed food that good. We are planning to go back again very shortly and would recommend to anyone to try the delights that this restaurant offers.

Found this restaurant totally by chance. Very impressed with friendly service despite extremely busy Saturday evening. Food was excellent and good value for money.

A quick break in work meant I had to find somewhere convenient, pleasant and with good reviews to have dinner. I local friend recommended Amran's and the reviews looked good so I booked to avoid disappointment and turned up early. I was quickly given a seat, served by a trainee (closely watched by an experienced staff member) and awaited my food. It's a standard menu menu with a good selection and a couple of the hotter curries which are to my liking. My curry of choice in a new to me Indian restaurant is Garlic Chilli Chicken. It was great, I rarely right amazing or the best ever as that's reserved for literally, amazing or the best ever dishes. Great flavours, heat and spices, weight of sauce, freshness. Full order: 2 popadum with dips Garlic Chilli Chicken Pilau rice Peshawari naan Every item on the order was worth 5* Service was prompt and courteous Present (good and staff 🤣) professional Cost was value for money I'd come here and recommend Amran's Indian Kitchen.

Very good food, but service was pretty slow despite being not particularly busy. The seekh kebab was delicious, and I requested that they make my chicken karahi spicier than normal and they made it perfect. Worth going if you have the time
