Delicious Bangla Indian. Super friendly staff, even though busy. I had the home style curry, nice and hot and loads of spices with flavor ves and cardamom.

The main course was so sweet it is was inedible. My Freinds dish was so spicy that was also inedible. We asked to speak to the manager and we believed we were talking to the right person and it later transpired that he another waiter. We asked for a reduction on the bill as we had only had a mouthful of the dish. The waiter offered to replace the dishes but because our experience was so bad we thought that the other food would be as bad. I was left feeling sick due the amount of sugar in my main course. “ Vag” the waiter then threatened to call the police if we didn’t pay in full. He also told us that we were being filmed and recorded. When I asked where the signs were as a warning CCTV was being used and required by law ( ICO) he then disappeared. Another equally aggressive man appeared and told us the sign had fallen off !! As two women we felt intimidated and freighted , so we were forced to pay. What a dreadful way to treat two sober respectable women, out for a nice evening meal. It was a reasonable request only to be met with aggressive behaviour, we both burst into tears when we were outside the restaurant.

We called as we walked past and were very lucky to get in as it was really busy (booking recommended). The food was very good and the service superb. The staff were so friendly and we shared a few jokes. Highly recommended.

Called in out the blue on a Thursday and was quite lucky to get a table! Wasn't expecting it to be so busy mid week so was expecting good things and they didn't disappoint. Staff very friendly took our order quick and food arrived just as quick and it was probably one of the best Indian meals I've ever had. If I'm ever up that way again il be sure to drop in.

This has to be one of the best curries I've had in years. My chicken Jalfrezi was so tasty and my wife's chicken saagwala was absolutely perfect. If you're visiting and you love a good curry after a few pints, then you must visit here.

£41 for stale poppadoms tasted like they were fried in motor oil; tandoori chicken tough and dry and looked like it had been taken out of a bin and re-heated. The garlic naan was tough and looked again like it was made days esrlier. King prawn dansak wasn’t much better. And to top it off, the guy in charge behind the bar looked like he detested the ground you walked on. Sorry but this is the worst Indian takeaway we have ever had!

Friendly staff provided excellent service. Our starters and main courses were cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. Our table and surrounding areas were spotlessly clean. We will definitely return if in the area. Would highly recommend.

We were a party of seven and hadn't previously booked. Fortunately, it was early evening so they were able to accommodate us. The food and the service were excellent. We all tried different dishes to what we usually have and we weren't disappointed. Would definately recommend to anyone visiting Seahouses.

This restaurant was such a great find while on a weekend away. The food was outstanding- we tend to be Dhansak eaters wherever we go. One meat eater and one veggie and we both thought this was the best Dhansak we’d had in a long while. Would definitely recommend and would not hesitate to return.

Had not been to Seahouses for 8 years and decided to visit this restaurant again We were not disappointed. The food and the service was superb. We had the sharing platter for starters and all the main courses were beautifully presented, hot and tasty.

We last came here 8 years ago and it’s just as fantastic now (if not more so)! The food was fabulous and the staff were extremely attentive. We had two of the starter kebab sharers between 4 of us and there was so much on the sizzler plates. The prawns were massive and full of flavour. The chicken was surprisingly juicy, I think a lot of the time tandoori chicken can become quite dry so it was a pleasant surprise that this one wasn’t. We also ordered 2 chicken bhuna, 1 chicken tikka bhuna, and 1 butter chicken along with 4 pilau rice and a naan bread. The butter chicken was probably the best I’ve ever tried and was somehow nicer than it was 8 years ago! Everyone else at the table was pinching the sauce with some of the naan bread! The rice was lovely and fluffy and the naan was also the best I’ve had. It has a slight crispness but was also very soft. All the staff were lovely. Drinks were brought out very quickly as well as plates and cutlery. They ensure we knew which plates were red hot and set out everything perfectly. Whenever we were done with things they were very quick to move it from the table. Everyone was generally very polite and hardworking. We’d love to come more often but unfortunately it would be quite a long drive to come all the way up to Seahouses so we’ll have to settle with popping in when we’re on holiday!

Great takeaway food - there were 14 of us so tried a wide variety of dishes and the standard was very high. We’ve also eaten in the restaurant before and were equally impressed Thank you - we’ll be back!

Revisit of this place, think this is the fifth time we've had food from here but disappointed this time. Not sure of they've had a change in chef or ownership but not of the curries tasted very nice at all and they were all cold all the meat was so over cooked it was like rubber and the tikka masala was one of the worst I've ever had . Pickle Tray tasted like it was out of a cheap jar, we may eat here again but unlikely

The food was just splendid and plentiful and the welcome was warm. We had byriani, tandoori royale, mixed saagawal and chicken tikka masala with garlic naan. We will be back.

We have eaten at the Spice House on several occasions & always had excellent food . Tonight we ordered a take away and I ordered a dish not on the menu ( keema mushroom bhuna ) without hesitation they said they would cook it and it was delicious. My hubby always has a ‘home style’ curry which is to be recommended for those who like a hot spicy curry . Would definitely recommend eating there. 👍

We must be the only people who had a monumentally crap takeaway from this place. I order tandoori prawns and got three exceptionally tough crayfish. I ordered mushroom bajhi. Tinned mushrooms. Absolutely tasteless. A nan that had obviously been made yesterday and was cold and chewy. The only decent thing was the pilau rice! What an absolute waste of money. It makes me wonder whether the other reviews are truthful.

Decided to try the second of the two Indian restaurants in Seahouses. Very quiet on this blustery Sunday evening in March. Ic and Flic chose a window seat and pints of draught Cobra. This traditional restaurant also still uses brilliant white starched tableware. I had a very spicey chicken dish. Delicious. We all enjoyed our food. Service was excellent but more staff than customers in the low season.

The restaurant is a pleasant Indian restaurant. It offers a wide choice of dishes. Its bright and airy. The staff are friendly. The meals were well cooked and presented nicely. The restaurant was quiet due to the time of year .

Everything you would expect really. Friendly staff. Averagely nice curry.

Love their peshawar naans with a chicken curry

This was the first place we chose to eat our first evening staying in Seahouses. The food was excellent as was the service, our main dishes were the Aloo chicken and Mahari Haash duck - the sauce with that was lovely. We enjoyed the meal so much we went back again on our last night and had the same dishes! It does get busy, and although we were lucky to get a table without a booking, at a busier time of year booking would be a must.

Absolutely gorgeous food. Best Indian food I think we've ever had. The stuff we're so lovely roo and made us really welcome. It does get really busy 8ish (we went at 7) so I'd book I'd choosing to eat later. Really really nice !!

This place is a must visit when we are in Seahouses. The dishes are so fresh and tasty every time. Poppadoms, Onion Bajahis and Chicken Tikka Purée starters were just wonderful. Mains were King Prawn Dansak and Chicken Tikka Dansak with rice. Flavoursome with the perfect balance of spices that gave a little kick, but also the sweetness from the pineapple and lentils. However not exactly the same sauce, which sometimes happens where everything looks and tastes the same. Both meals excellent, as there was nothing left on the plates when we had finished. Thanks to the attentive Spice House staff.

Unfortunately disappointed with our meal, found the 3 takeaway currys to be tasteless and watery.

Second visit. Food very good. Service also very good. Prices for area about average even though we noted increases since our last visit.

Thank you Melanie Phillips for your review of this establishment. My family are booking purely on the back of this review. It's about time restaurants took a stand on allowing dogs in. It is unhygienic and some people even lift them up to the table - gross habit. There should only be officially registered guide dogs allowed in restaurants. I understand during the day some cafes bending the rules but surely dogs can be left a short time while you eat a lovely meal without dog hair. Well done spice house you've got our business 👍

Fantastic atmosphere, food and service

This was one of the best curries my husband and I have eaten. Absolutely superb. Great service and great atmosphere. Cannot recommend this place enough. We will certainly be back !

Really enjoyed our meal tonight, we were in early just as restaurant opened at 5 pm. Food was served quickly and was really tasty, staff were friendly, a great curry in a lovely location.

Sooo all the above not applicable as we were rudely refused entry with. My assistance dog...appropriate dog wear was showing... No matter how much I said she was my assistance dog.i was told rudely only dogs for the blind were allowed in. We have never been refused anywhere...and always greeted with helpfulness I will be contacting Seahouses Council to have you inspected.

On our arrival restaurant was empty except one table, but we were shown to a table right at the back of the restaurant by kitchen door and where they threw the dirty linen. Food was delicious. Reasonably priced. Didn’t like the way the condiments for the poppadoms were already prepared in uncovered dishes on a shelf behind us. Our other criticism though the food was served far too quickly between courses. They didn’t give us time to enjoy and savour the lovely food as we were just rushed.

Great place for a curry in seahouses

Just returned and will not go again. No atmosphere, staff couldn’t be bothered and were very uninterested and unprofessional. Very sweet sauces and the prawns on my husbands mixed grill were definitely off… had to spit it out as so rubbery and they smelt awful! Brasserie is much better and will not be out go to from now on!

We popped in on a busy evening service and they found us a table within 15 minutes. Staff were attentive and friendly, and the food was incredibly good.

Turned away for wearing shorts. Staff were rude and unapologetic. We have been visiting here for years on our annual camping trip but will not be returning.

Last minute decision to visit restaurant. We didn't have a reservation but we're accommodated without problem. Food was superb and the whole experience was 10/10. Would highly recommend.

Friends were significantly delayed in joining us but the restaurant staff ensured meals were served together and freshly cooked. Service throughout was prompt from friendly people. Big shout out to Tee who helped us and was most patient. Food was tasty, well presented and great value. Thank you for helping us have a lovely evening with no fuss.

Been to the Spice House whilst on holiday many times over the last 12 years. Always really tasty, well priced with good service. If you love curry and you’re in Seahouses for a few nights or more, then the Spice House won’t disappoint.

Would definitely recommend the Spice House. We got a takeaway of Lamb Bhuna, Chicken Tikka Masala, Pilau Rice, Chips & Naan. The food was spot on...absolutely no complaints at all.

Myself, wife and daughter ate here whilst on holiday. Great service, great food and good value. Will definitely return when we visit again in the future.

We got king prawn zalfrezi and king prawn Sagwala the flavours in the dish were delicious! The prawns were overcooked to the point of beef jerky texture, there were only 4 prawns in each dish, a little light on for nearly £12. Naan bread was very thin and not doughy. Chapati was top notch. Vegetable pilau was also pretty good.

OK. 3 curries, all different but tasted similar, lacked the depth of a great curry. Got our paneer order wrong, potato instead of paneer(same shape, different product)

We are staying in Seahouses for a few nights and wandered in here early after a busy day. We were the first customers in. After pickles & poppadoms my wife had the mushroom puree starter and I had the paneer. Both very nice. We both asked for paneer in our main courses - Balti & jalfrezi. This was no problem and we enjoyed them. All the usual rice, bread and side dishes that you would expect. Would happily come here again. They have Cobra zero if you're not drinking.

We have eaten here before and the food and service was good, unfortunately on our recent visit my onion Bhaji was almost raw and not crispy on the outside. There was 5 of us and all the food was cool , we mentioned it to the waiter he brought another member of staff over but nothing was done. Sorry we cannot recommend the spice house, they were too busy doing the carry out food to bother with we ladies , and it was not busy in the restaurant !

Fantastic meal. Dive club up from wes Wales. They easily catered for x15 of us in one sitting. All the food was said to be delicious (I had chicken kurma, not a fan of hot and spicy, it was scrumscious), served piping hot and all at the same time. Will be visiting again!

I took my best friend for dinner last night and she said it was the most delicious Indian curry she had been lucky enough to enjoy, she loved the Spice of the Sri Lanka chicken and enjoyed her first stuffed vegetable Paratha and very tasty mushroom pilau rice all accompanied by a cool pint of Cobra.

Booked a table the day before our visit which was a good move as it was fairly busy. The restaurant is licence and has Cobra on draft, has an extensive menu, and is good value for money. The waiters were very friendly and helpful, the service was good, not too quick not too slow, and the food was excellent. If you like curry it’s worth a visit if you’re in Seahouses, I found the curries milder than I normal have, but the flavours were excellent. Recommended

Spoiled our last night , ordered a takeaway left out 2 curries 1 chips and 1 nan bread only realised when we opened it later for supper 10 45 , tried phoning but said they we're closed when supposed to be open till 11 , not a happy caravan tonight

Quality food with great service.

Korma and tikka masala were very disappointing. Thin homogenous sauces almost like made from a powder. Dupiaza, Rogan Josh and tandoori chicken slightly better. Not for the discerning palate, British or otherwise!

A really good takeaway. The food was hot, tasty and well worth the money.

We came here tonight without a reservation. We were told to come back in an hour and a half and a table would be available. On our return Spice House were true to their word. The food is absolutely outstanding, and the staff so friendly. This is a place to miss at your peril. I only wish this was my local.
