Great food and staff were very friendly, would definitely go again.

Brilliant Food - cooking is clearly a passion here. We've been here on a number of occasions and the food is excellent. Good service and clean unfussy dining area. While we were here there were many 'take-aways' are being ordered as well. Not surprising really. We'll be back!

Good value Thursday special, food very nice, also the staff were very helpful. Will definitely be going back again.

The male member of staff on duty was probably the least helpful and most rude person I have ever had the misfortune to meet. We will never eat there. You lost out on a booking for 19 people today with your shocking bad attitude!!! Your loss, another’s gain and I guessing you need customers as the place was empty!!!

we asked for delivery, the food was good but we waited for 2 hours ! and had to call 3 times to get our food, not even an apology or a discount, not very commercial on the phone

First class food. We used to use this restaurant and take away regularly, but moved to near the coast, we were pleased to see they deliver here too. Had a pickles tray followed by our mains. Wife had king prawn sag (spinach) with veg pilau. It was spot on with huge prawns and great flavour, I had chicken Dupiaza with mushroom pilau, it was delicious too. Real chicken breast (not like others around here who use reconstituted frozen chicken lumps). Meals tasted authentic and were the best we have had in years. 10/10. If you are trying to decide which indians to use, give these a try - I dont think you will be disappointed! Update, We have now had 3 more deliveries from Pan Ahar and can report that the consistency is amazing, each new meal being as good as the last!

Awful, awful, awful! Moved from a booth cos he said we didn't fit, food was bland and tasteless, staff looked bewildered if we asked for anything and they brought out our food then took it away again! Different nan breads ordered explained about allergies and they brought them all on same plate! No leadership apparent and will not be going again, such a disappointment

We ordered a takeaway on saturday 23rd oct 2021. Cost our family £89. When we got home we found the order was incomplete. As it was a family meal i phoned them to complain as we were missing various food. They said they would deliver the missing food. They asked for our address and we never recieved the food that was missing as they never came. Total loss was rougly £19. Spoilt our night we just did the best and shared what we had. Shame as one had to have no main as they wanted king prawn, and didnt eat chicken tikka. really spoilt our night. Obviously they will be happy as they were roughly £19 better off for not supplying what was ordered. Will never go back.

Have not been to the Pan Ahar for a few years but went tonight with freinds for what was an excellent meal, the meal was served by very freindly but quiet staff who were not overbearing. It was all very reasonably priced and with a few rounds of drinks in was less than £25.00 per head, great value for money.

Have not been for a few years but after having a takeaway 3 weeks ago we decided to book a table at the Pan Ahar for ourselves and two freinds. The meal was excellent, served by very quiet freindly staff, the cost for the four of us with drinks came in at less than £25.00 per head which we think is excellent value for money.

I've been going to this restraunt for most of my adult life. Always good, apart from one time, which I can forgive, everyone has an off day Right?

It’s 5 mins after finishing the meal and I feel compelled to write this review. Absolutely awful. I ordered a starter of butterfly king prawn, this came in a soggy batter with one small prawn in each, the prawn being about 1/20 the size of each piece of soggy batter. My main course I ordered Sri Lankan King prawn, the sauce was quite nice but the 7 small prawns was no what I was expecting. A full takeaway tray full of sauce and a slice of lemon and 7 small prawns which I had to fish around to find. Ordered at Pan Ahar for the very first time tonight on the advice of a neighbour. I won’t be ordering from here ever again, atrocious is not an exaggeration. They were very very busy and although the pick up time was 9pm we waited in a queue until approx 9.30pm. Maybe this is why the meal was so poor, I don’t know, but it’s no excuse. The photo shows the remains amount of the butterfly prawn, about 75% of it, one small prawn in amongst it. Pitiful.

My favourite Indian restaurant, by a country mile. The food is a class apart from all Indian restaurants in the North East. Always get good sized portions. The vindaloo is best I've had in the UK.

Great place to go for an Indian curry, friendly service and prompt. Would definitely recommend. The meal was excellent and reasonably priced. Complimentary liqueur was also given at the end of the meal. Restaurant was warm and relaxed and service was excellent.

Her indoors and I often spend a weekend up in Blyth to visit family. One thing we always make sure to do is visit this exceptional little takeaway. We haven't had a single meal that was anything less than phenomenal.

In off the street with no booking but was given a table for me and the bride, had the usual poops and picked which were nice. straight into the chicken Madrass after that which was nice and hot served with good quality rice, Give it a go, canny!!

Attended here last night (9th february) and had my reservations as always with trying new restaurants but was pleasantly surprised at this place. I had chicken pakora to start which was amazing very little grease and cooked well. For my main I had lamb Sri Lankan and again very little grease and full of flavour. It was one of the better curries I have had. The keema naan was also very nice and the service here we found exceptional nothing was too much and they didn't pester you all the time like some places do.

I frequently visit this restaurant for a takeaway or eat, the food is fantastic to say the least. The staff and service is brilliant and couldn't ask for more.

Great food well established for over 30 years

One of the worst Indian restaurant experiences I've had. Attended prompt at 18:00 hrs for a booking made for 4 adults and 2 children. When asked for sparkling water all they had was soda water or tonic water. There was no children's menu, after 1.5 hrs all we had been given was a plate of poppadoms and some pickles. Eventually our starters arrived, the butterfly king prawns were virtually inedible as they were smothered in thick batter. and the Bhuna prawns on Puri were nearly cold. After a further long wait the mains arrived, reasonably ok however by this time one of the children had fallen asleep and had to have his food packed in a container as a doggy bag. The wait to pay the bill was also too long. I would normally have walked out but this was supposed to be a special night out with our daughters family and we didn't want to spoil it and frighten the children. Recommendation: DON'T GO.

Home delivered curry for one with 2 plain nanbreads which should have been about 10.00 so why was he charged 20.00 for the said meal to be delivered less than two mile from the shop in blyth to cowpen in blyth. Not good.

My husband has just had the worst Indian meal ever. Cold, dry, tasteless disappointment. Not one item he had was any where near the high ratings stated. Tried once...never again!!!

Fue difícil a veces conseguir atención para bebidas, etc. El joven parecía ocupado comprobar. Sirve He visitado este lugar varias veces a lo largo de los años y después de vivir lejos decidí probar de nuevo. La comida era bastante buena, no me golpe, pero no estaba mal. Nos encontramos un gran hilo / pelo en uno de nuestros platos, cuando mencioné que el camarero nos encontramos con una vacante de aspecto y dijo que no había venido de allí. A su crédito ofrecían nos hará un nuevo plato para llevar y hicieron lo que pudieron para rectificar y asegurarse de que la izquierda con el asunto resuelto. La decoración del establecimiento se siente anticuada. En general bastante normalito. Es poco probable que prisa en volver.

Este es mi restaurante local y nunca he estado en el restaurante, así que no puedo comentar sobre el restaurante clasifico el tomar distancia. Un salto a la vez y por Londis que acabamos en la tienda de mi comida me estaba esperando. Buena acogida y buena orientación en encontrar lo que quería. Llegué a casa y estaba muy sorprendido por el tamaño de la porción, pero hambre que disfruté todo sólo restos de izquierda. Trozos de carne y la hermosa arroz cocinado a la perfección. Bien vale la pena el precio. No puedo comentar en la entrega. Era como un curry kurma, pero de vegetales. Por lo que vi el restaurante se veía preciosa.

Reservamos una mesa anoche, y cuando llegamos el lugar estaba encerrado si donde cerrar temprano porqué no teléfono decir que donde hacerlo tenían nuestro número. No nuevo servicio al cliente muy pobre

Esperamos más de una hora para la entrega. Tenía un desacuerdo con el hombre entrega a donde estaba Bridge Street. Me buscó y me fue correcta! ! ! La comida estaba deliciosa! Se vayan al restaurante, pero no llevar a microondas como tenía de todo! Y no como la mayoría de indios gratis papadum dar!

Llegamos para la cena, el personal es muy amable. La comida era muy buena y disfrutamos de nuestra primera comida india. El único punto que haría mesa nos sentamos en era muy pegajosa, solo un paño húmedo para limpiar el sabón mesa.

My boyfriend took me here for my first Indian in a restaurant. It was really good here and the food was lovely. One criticism I would make is one of the staff was a bit behind and forgetting things such as drinks and by watching another table he got part of their order wrong. We will definitely come back though!

Thankfully my husband (then boyfriend) introduced me to the Pan Ahar coming up to 6 years ago this Christmas. I'd always turned my nose up at this sort of cuisine.We have been coming back most weekends ever since, mostly to sit in as the staff are so friendly and welcoming.They've seen me go through my very mild curry stage to which they accommodated every time to my spicy stages. We've since had a baby who also comes with us every week and has ate the cuisine since she was 6 months . They all seem to love her and make us feel just as welcome even when she has been a little difficult to settle. I couldn't recommend this place enough. We often try other types of restaurants but always say at the end...not as nice as the Pan Ahar :)

I have been going to the pan ahar for years and the standards have never slipped. Great food and staff. I would recommend this for eat in or take out.

They do have a happy hour on a Thursday. I have found the food fine but I always ask for it to be very mild. The service is very good. Choice of about 3 starters, main course nan or rice, ice cream or coffee and a after eight mint. The house wine is mediocre expensive for what it is. Seems to be different every time I go?

Four of us arrived just after 8pm on a busy Sunday, Bank Holiday. We had not booked a table so we knew we were going to have to wait. The wait was only about 20 minutes. But once we ordered our food the wait was no longer than usual. We ordered the special, everything was perfect.

All of Blyth Indian restaurants are very good but the Pan Ahar is my personal favourite. We had chicken tikka and onion bhajis to start, which we shared. Followed by chicken Bhuna, rice and peshwari nan.All the food was delicious and service as usual was very good.

Went on a buffet night 3 courses plus a glass of wine. The food is wonderful would really recommend this restaurant

We decided to look up this restaurant as we had heard good reports and we were not disappointed. Tucked away near Newsham clubs we originally thought it was a takeaway but what a pleasant surprise. We had a friendly greeting from the staff and the restaurant was quite quiet due to the fact it was early Tuesday evening. there was still a good atmosphere as the few customers all seemed to be regulars enjoying themselves. We were promptly served and given pompadoms with delicious accompaniments. We opted for the hot pickle too which was Hot but lovely mixed with the mango, salad etc. Our starter of mixed tandoori kebab was freshly cooked and our main dishes of Jalfrezi and Balti served with rice and nan bread was delicious. We were made to feel very comfortable and enjoyed our experience very much. Complimentary drink of Baileys in cream was a nice finishing touch. Well done! We will certainly recommend and return for more of the same.

We rang for take out and from the young lady who took our order to the delivery driver then the food it was all faultless. If everyone got that service every time you would be definitely the best indian restaurant in blyth.

If you want good delivery service and good food then avoid the Pan Ahar. Been living on past reputation for too long its time to tighten up your act.

Went for tea on the Thursday special night we got there early so it was quiet ,but it soon filled up . We ordered our drinks then Mr Mia took our order poppadoms arrived soon after then our starters which were delicious, then our mains which we were allowed to tweet slightly from the set menu ,again fresh and delicious. You cannot fault this restaurant for value or taste . Once again it was great .

I ate here for the first time last night after sampling the food by using their takeaway service earlier in the month.I felt welcome from the moment I walked in, I was taken to my seat and offered a drink straight away, the staff were all polite and full of smiles.I ordered my food and was then presented with poppadoms & a selection of dips including mango chutney and onion salad - gratis.The starter was mutton tikka, absolutely delicious, then the main, Tandoori King Prawn Vindaloo, was brought out with garlic rice and a naan bread; wow! It was beautiful, the waiter checked that it wasn't too hot and was happy to know how much I was enjoying the food. The restaurant itself is quite small so it has a cosy feel and it decorated with beautiful Indian art. Overall I would recommend this to anyone in the area who fancies a nice meal in a local place. The bill was reasonable, even including the drinks, and came with a shot of what I think was baileys and cream.I left quite a generous tip, which is unusal for me as I usually leave the customary 10% if I have enjoyed the meal and the service of the staff but I left a little over 20% for this meal. I will return to the restaurant in future.

I have been spoiled by years of living close to South Shields and struggled to find restaurant of similar quality to those on Ocean Road.Since finding this gem my search is over.Only downside is being a small family run restaurant booking advisable as often unable to get table at short notice. Just proves how popular it is.

Blyth is lucky to have four very good Indian restaurants. Most people will have their favourite and the Pan Ahar is ours. The food is delicious and the service is excellent. We went on Thursday for the special night. It was fairly quiet, something to do with England having a match! We shared our starters, onion bhaji and chicken tikka. Followed by chicken dupiazza and bhuna prawn. Too much food for me, but thoroughly enjoyed what I had. A lot of England fans will be wishing they had gone to the Pan Ahar rather than stay in and watch the football.

Recently our pool team (9 players) went for our end of season night out to this restaurant. The staff could not have done more for us, the service was excellent and the food, superb ! Well worth a visit !

I am local to newsham/blyth & have used the Pan Ahar many, many times over the past 10+ years. A very friendly and hospitable local family serving the public very well. I cannot recall one time where i have not enjoyed a meal from Pan Ahar either by take away, delivery or sit in.I also know that have supported many local charity events over the yearsMy choice is to sit in, the Thursday/Sunday set menu is great value. You can enjoy a well timed service of great food and your table is yours for as long as you need it without ever feeling rushed or hurryed. The restaurant is nicely decorated and modern in appearance. The layout also gives nice space between yourself and other diners.Of course the main aspect a restaurant is judged by is the quality of the food and Pan Ahar never fails to impress me. I have chopped and changed many different dishes on the menu over the years, im not someone who sticks to the same dish every time and always been happy with what i have had.These days a selection of starters and sides is my choice just to have a little bit of everything/variety to choose fromThe Tiffin Cup, house special curry is well worth a try - beautiful & different exciting tasteI cant really add much more to this great little gem. OK, it is a little bit dearer than other indians in blyth but i would much sooner pay a little more for a great meal & stay loyal to a good family run businessKeep up the great work Mr Miah & family
