When in London, indulging in afternoon tea is simply a must—and as a true tea lover, I knew I had to find the perfect spot for this iconic experience. With so many wonderful options across the city, the choice wasn’t easy. But what drew me to The Ritz was its timeless elegance—and, of course, the fact that even the King has enjoyed tea there. The only challenge? We hadn’t packed outfits that matched the dress code. A last-minute shopping trip fixed that, and let me tell you—it was absolutely worth it. From the moment you step inside, the magic begins. Every detail is pure perfection, from the warm welcome at the entrance to the gentleman who kindly directs you to the cloakroom. If you arrive early, you can enjoy a pre-tea cocktail at the stunning Rivoli Bar, setting the perfect mood for what’s to come. For my tea selection, I chose Dragon Well tea—a renowned Chinese green tea also known as Longjing. It’s celebrated for its delicate, slightly sweet flavor, smooth texture, and refreshing vegetal notes, often described as having hints of chestnut and a subtle grassy aroma. The leaves are hand-flattened and pan-fired, giving the tea its distinct flat shape and beautifully light, golden-green color when brewed. Sipping it in such an elegant setting was a truly serene and elevated experience. Once seated, the experience only gets better. The service is impeccable, with every effort made to accommodate you comfortably. And the food? Simply exquisite. From delicate finger sandwiches to heavenly pastries and scones served with clotted cream and jam, every bite complemented the refined flavors of the tea perfectly. This isn’t just tea—it’s a royal experience wrapped in elegance, tradition, and charm.

Came to watch total drag, the event was cancelled. Had no emails or phone calls, travelled all the way for my friends birthday only to be told it had been cancelled the night before whilst there was a que of guests waiting for a new show ? Still waiting for an email response and my refund… very disappointing as the event was booked for my friends birthday.

Stopped in a number of times. Good selection of traditional beers as well as very tasty craft beers. Really busy a couple of times, but steady and relaxing on Saturday afternoon after a big day sightseeing. Nice quiet setting. Had dinner a number of times. Good meals on and tasty.

We came for the Stout Pie and WERE NOT DISAPPOINTED!!! it was delicious! Our server was also cheerful and helped make the experience fun for these two newcomers. If you have a chance - go here. The surroundings are simple but comfortable. We sat a table right next to the tiny set of stairs that lead to the kitchen, and made us appreciate the route our servers had to take to bring us our order. 10 out of 10!

We had very good seafood lunches st this conveniently located London restaurant, but the location and quality make it a popular lunch spot for those working in the area as well. Get there before noon to have a shot at getting a table without a reservation. Note to Loch Fyne: Please letthe servers tell us what the specials for the day are. Having to hold up the chalkboard for us to read is awkward, time-consuming, and implies that you don’t think they’re able to remember them. The wait staff was very good and they don’t need a prop.

Enjoyed a great late lunch here on a Saturday afternoon. So many nice things on the menu & we opted for the deep fried brie, mixed kebab with salad & Tzatziki instead of rice & moussaka. Great prices & friendly staff too. They do a set menu as a cheaper alternative but the al a carte prices were very reasonable. Would recommend & would eat here again, & not a hen party in sight :-)

I was in here twice during our recent stay at the Hilton and neither would i report as positive. On arrival to the hotel we visited here for a quick drink and nibble, the serving staff were really very poor in both their knowledge of drinks and their communication skills. We asked if they had any Crisps or nuts and was greeted with lost faces! The ordered some Aubergine fried pieces, but they were really awful - VERY greasy and tasteless. We also ate here for Breakfast and again the service was pretty similar and the food very confused - we ordered smoked salmon and poached eggs on toast but nothing about it was really positive - the very small eggs on served on a circle of toast about 3 cm wide (of what use that is supposed to be i have no idea).

We happened upon this pub and really enjoyed the fish and chips. The mushy peas were also surprisingly delicious. The bartender was very friendly. She took our order at the bar, had us go upstairs to find a table, and then brought the food up to us. Would recommend!

Went here for dinner. It was very quiet the waitress said its normally like that on Friday's. The food was all very nice Braked brie followed by shepherd's pie with pieces of lamb rather than mince it was very tasty followed by chocolate tart for me and ice cream for my husband. It was quite expensive but I suppose that's London prices. Would go there again if in the area

Alarms bells should have rung when the diners at the next table said the food wasn’t good at all. I ordered fish and chips which was just about passable but not worth the near £25 paid. Waiter taking my order was in no way hospitable or welcoming. He then became rude when I paid the bill which I had asked to be split between myself and a colleague. He made no attempt to hide his irritation at this request , making us wait and then flicking the credit card print out across the bar in an utterly disdainful manner. Appalling service and won’t be back .
