Vlotte bediening, prima eten tegen een redelijke prijs. We kwamen zonder reservering en dat was geen probleem. Vaak is er later op de avond live muziek.

Buen restaurante y pub, buen menú. Tuve mi primer pastel británico y estaba delicioso. Mi esposa tenía la pequeña porción de pescado con papas fritas y era muy bueno. La mujer que nos esperaba parecía nueva o simplemente estaba teniendo un mal día. No es gran cosa, pero necesitaba mencionarlo. El hombre joven que limpia nuestros platos y nos trajo nuestra factura era muy agradable, amable y servicial.

Came here for a few drinks before a work meal. The staff were friendly and very efficient. The beer selection is great. They had many beers that you don't often see on tap. I wish this was my local!

Debería habernos dado más tiempo ya que el menú se ve impresionante y había más que quería probar, pero estábamos presionados por el tiempo. Este pub fue solo un puñado que sobrevivió al gran incendio de 1666.

We just love this place. So cozy, authentic and truly central. We went for my birthday. They were super busy and didn't really make it especially special (lol) but charming nonetheless. Really, if you're in the area try this London gem!

Great wee pub, Nicholson owned and run and a nice change from other chains that gut a pub and refit to look the same as all their others, staff were great and the pints were priced quite well for Aldgate area.

I loved it. The waitress was great and the food was delicious.

Probamos sus fish & chips la última vez, que fue excelente, así que esta vez es tiempo de pastel! Pedí el pastel de conejo (servido extremadamente caliente) acompañado de un vaso de rojo. Combo de almuerzo perfecto! Una comida muy satisfactoria!

Between the City and Whitechapel, a very typical pub, with a very warm welcome, abundant decoration just as we like them. The draft beer is good and the food is plentiful and tasty (we had a burger and a fish pie). Perfect reward after a long day exploring London on foot!

Standard Nicholsons pub. Beautiful, loads of history and authentic costruction, but a little lacking in atmosphere. Granted it was mid afternoon but still. Good choice of beers in ok condition. Staff running around a bit,

Lovely old pub but very hot and noisy. Food was disappointing as the steak and ale pie was burnt on the inside. However they did give us free drinks with our meal.

Spent a week in London close to this pub and visited a few times. Hazy IPA was great as well as the live music and overall atmosphere. Was a little disappointed in having to order through the app while seated, but it turned out ok. Saw other tables ordering through the server so I guess it’s hit or miss. Overall a nice experience. Thanks to the young lady at the bar for recommending the Hazy. Shawn and Stacy Williams.

We had a wonderful dinner and beers at this historic pub on the Aldgate High Street. Even though it was a Wednesday night, the pub was heaving and we didn't have a booking. The wonderful Damian recommended some beers, found us a table and served our meals. The beers were terrific, we loved our fish and chips, and fish pie, and Damian's service was super friendly and professional. Note that there is a 10% service charge for table service but Damian earned every penny of it!

Lovely old pub, a bit spoilt by a screen with rugby on while I was there, no one was watching it and it made the room really dark. We moved tables to behind screen where we could read the menu and had a very nice time

Lovely pub near the tube station. Love the vibe and the interiors but you need to be aware that it tends to be noisy and very busy

Me and my Grandma visited this place after we were told it was the oldest pub in London during a walking tour. We had dinner already but we got some fudge cake dessert. The inside is very cool- old brick and wood. The atmosphere was a bit loud but it’s a pub after all. We sat ourselves down and we had to go to the bar to order, it was around 9pm. The history was fascinating and the pictures- especially of the Great Fire of 1666 were so cool to look at (wish I took a picture of it). I highly recommend coming here.

Typical chain pub close to my hotel. Decent choice of drinks, nice local history lessons on the wall. But the second time I went there, the woman drawing my pint emanated a strong odour of old sweat. That's just unacceptable.

Sunday lunch prior to rugby. Staff so accommodating went out of their way to make our table in view of the screens, even put the big screen up so that we could have a Birds Eye view. Food was lovely ( could recommend the pies) a really nice afternoon thank you

While it is a beautiful, historic building it is entirely ruined by the chain who own it. It's just another, bland, characterless copy.

the staff were really attentive and friendly , I really enjoyed my boar and chorizo pie , it was hot , with appropriate servings of mash , freshly cooked vegetables , and gravy. the two beers I had were also enjoyable , with Wainwrights Amber taking the edge , so i had a second pint of that . a pub isn’t s pub unless it looks after its ales. final point , the atmosphere and ambience works , even with the massive TV screen .

An experience not to be missed in London. Two hours of live music on Fridays (8:30 p.m.), Saturdays (8:30 p.m.) and Sunday evenings (7:30 p.m.) with exceptional musicians. Thank you for this moment. Big crush on this address! We came for a drink to spend one last evening in London and we were won over by the pub atmosphere of this bar with quality live music. We tasted their snack to share for which they offer an interesting formula. Even more so when we see the quality of what we ate for pleasant prices for London! We end our stay with a wonderful moment. Thank you again for this beautiful moment!

If you're in the mood for delicious food and a cool IPA in London, you've come to the right place. A pub as you would imagine. Fish and chips were juicy in a thin batter coating The pork pie was a decent portion but cost 17 pounds (very tasty) Really good value for money for London.

The place is great, the drinks are great, but the food (chicken and chorizo) is not nice : too much cooked and too oily ! The potatoes are not enough cooked and the brocolis are cold !

The pub is in a lovely old building and alludes to great things. Unfortunately the food is a bit formulaic and not what you might hope for. My son called the Nicholsons burger the worst burger that he had ever had, the fish pie was all cheese sauce and little fish. Overall this is a ‘could do better’ review

my husband and I visited this pub. Very pleasant atmosphere, pleasant and helpful staff, clean. The food is super fantastic. My husband ate pork sausages and I ate fish and fries. The dessert was more than excellent!

We had Christmas dinner and everything was as expected. Good food, no rush, welcome drinks as booked and pleasant staff. Complimentary drinks to finish as last coffee and tea had finished.

My wife ordered the pie and later she had to vomit all night. The girl with African heritage needs training. She didn’t know the items on their menu so she treats you like you are idiot.. their beer selection is good … final thoughts: go for a drink don’t order food and don’t have high hopes…

We went here on Saturday night as a group of 10. We had preordered our food ordered our meals in advance. Initially service was slow when we sat down, but once we were given Elle as our server it was great. The kitchen were clearly having a clunky night, Elle was great at chasing them up and keeping us appraised. One of the desserts didn’t arrive but Elle was honest about them not having vegan custard-this was appreciated. The food was tasty but it was just a shame it was so long between courses and not all the food came together. Elle made up for it, she really is an asset to your establishment. The live music was a bit loud if you’re trying to chat over food.

Great little pub. Gets very busy so get there early :-) Food was great value and staff were great.
