Charge the right prices. Don’t slip an additional charge in the small print. It also shows how little they value their staff as they were clearly keeping the previous higher service charge. We won’t be back.

Good food & service, restaurant within hotel so nice and civilised, busy but not crowded or noisy

We ordered two Ribeye steaks, both of which were tough. Presentation of the meal was also below the standard one would expect in the middle of London in a good restaurant. Washroom facilities were in the basement, difficult to reach, having to request the service staff for a key to use the lift. The manager did compensate us for one of the Ribeye steaks. Whilst appreciated, it is not good for a Steak Restaurant to serve poor quality meat as one would assume they know their trade!!!

Hossain was AWESOME! I had just arrived after a long overnight and he welcomed me in for food, a glass of Prosecco and comfort. Thanks Hossain!!

A beautiful hotel, an OK hotel breakfast, nothing you would tell your friends about but good enough for a morning meeting.

The food was fresh and flavorful, the service efficient, and the atmosphere cozy. A lovely spot for both casual dining and special occasions. Highly recommended!

Was served by Varsha who was able to accommodate us before our evening theatre performance. Not staying at the hotel, but was still welcoming all the same. Highly recommend!

The place was hopping with an unexpectedly large group. Varsha seated us at the bar immediately and at a table within 10 minutes. We ordered our meals which were delicious and portions plentiful. We are hotel guests and wished we had tried Boyd’s earlier in our stay. Thanks for the great service, Varsha and team!

Barstaff was amazing. Varsma was awesome with drink recommendations, good convo and touring suggestions. Nice bar, nice drink choices (some good whiskeys) would def return here next time I am back in town! Hotel staff amazing too!

My husband and I came to Boyd’s every night we were in London for drinks and/or dinner. Not only was the food great but Varsha made the world’s best Expresso Martini! She was one of the reasons we came back every night. Not only did she make a great drink but it was always served with a smile and conversation. We’ll definitely come back for Varsha and the great food and drinks!

Convenient for pre- theatre meal. Needed to be reminded of one item ordered but otherwise service friendly and reasonably timely. Lighting seems rather too subdued to the point where we struggled to read menus. Otherwise served its purpose for meeting up and pre theatre meal

Lovely meal and service yesterday. One of the staff named Sanju did a great job. He was excellent in serving people and treating them in.His positive attitude and dedication to ensuring a great dining experience.

I was looking for a smallish bistro but this is placed in a hotel. Lighting was subdued which made it hard to read the menu as the printing was not that bold. My wife thought her meal was very nice. I chose a Barnsley lamb chop which looked ok when it arrived. But at £23 for one chop which is mostly bone and has very little meat on it, even in London, is crazy. Especially when you then have to pay for accompaniments at another £5.00. The overall experience was disappointing, I won’t be returning.

Another excellent pre-theatre meal here. Beautifully cooked dishes in a quiet, opulent setting. An oasis of calm just off Trafalgar Square. We have eaten here on many occasions and never been disappointed. Thank you, Boyd’s.

We stayed at the hotel for several nights. Room was okay. Food was okay, hit the spot when we were tired and hungry. BEST THING was Varsha, the bartender. She got to know us and had great time. She took care of everyone around her with an awesome smile and cheery personality. She genuinely cares about everyone. 10-stars to her!!!! Love you girl. Hope to see you again! 🥰😊

The service was outstanding, helpful and pleasant. The food was good, memorable, not really. We had a great time and the staff made the experience great.

We came back three times because we loved it so much! We sat at the bar each time, and both of our bartenders were so kind and generous. Fabio on our first night was very sweet and took care of us well. Varsha worked on our other two nights, and the service was phenomenal. Not only did she serve wonderful, tasty drinks, but she was so fun to talk to and chat with! She even gave crash courses on how to make the drinks we ordered (I want to try my hand at bartending!). She was so kind and we will definitely be back if life allows it. Amazing service and kindness all around, and amazing drinks!

I have used this restaurant often. 5 star review for the team. However, two very terrible ladies, both from India have us our first unacceptable Experience on July 7, 2024. The poor treatment we got from the ladies was received from the two bartenders on duty between 12:15-12:20 AM on July 7, 2024. This incident occurred at the Boyd restaurant and bar, which is situated within Club Quarters. As we approached the bar, one of the bartenders, a lady, began shaking her head and smiling while informing us that the bar was closed. This was done in a dismissive manner that felt both unprofessional and disrespectful. To make matters worse, she then proceeded to walk away, leaving her colleague behind who openly laughed at us. I typically refrain from leaving negative reviews, but this experience was particularly upsetting. The dismissive and unprofessional behavior displayed by these two individuals is unacceptable and does not align with the standards I have come to expect from your establishment. Their conduct not only tarnished our evening but also left us with a very negative impression of the restaurant and bar. It is crucial that such staff members do not continue to represent your organization, as their behavior could severely impact the reputation of both the restaurant and the hotel. Based on this experience, I regret to say that I will not be returning to the restaurant, and this incident may also affect my continued patronage of the hotel which houses Boyd.

Arrived to the hotel after a long day of travel and work and decided to treat myself at the bar. Varsha anticipated every move and was a pleasure to chat with while being professional and extremely attentive. The drinks and bar food were above what I expected

Attendance from waiters was very good. We had dinner here on a Thursday evening. It was very quiet. Food was ok for it being a hotel restaurant.

We wanted somewhere different to try on this London trip and weren't disappointed. The dining room had amazing decor. The staff were welcoming and gave us a choice of tables. The waiter and manager were friendly and attentive, the food was superb and very reasonably priced as to what we expected to pay for this quality of experience. Highly recommended and we would definitely revisit.

Went to the bar for a drink because we were staying in the hotel. Ordered a pint of Guinness and the guy had no idea how to pour a Guinness. It was 40% froth. I rejected it and ordered something else and got a hugely overpriced Whisky, to which a 12 1/2% service charge was added! I asked for this to be removed and barman was very unprofessional in asking why. A poor end to a very pleasant evening at the theatre.

Freaked out that I remembered visiting this building when it was an MoD site. Bar staff provided therapeutic conversation.

We ate here before going to the theatre, with a 5 min walk to the Kit Kat Club. The food was reasonably priced and very tasty.

Just popped in for an early supper ! 7:15pm. Tried booking online turns out you can’t . Sent an email- no reply . So rang left a message / no call back . Turn up anyway just after 7pm . Restaurant pretty much empty so no problem. Ordered - fine starter cold sent back . Mains took for ever . Chased and finally arrived, All of this would be standard fair but on leaving having paid with inclusive tip. I asked for the loo . Well it’s actually on the basement through fire doors . (At this point I think Boyd’s is a franchise). Well down the stairs- nope two burly bouncers are blocking the way ( reminded me of a 1979s nightclub doorman? Apparently I need to use the lift . Brusquely shown the door told even more rudely instructed on the controls (incorrectly ) Pressed buttons no response! Opened door even more ;now aggressive instructions) I engaged a bell boy ( do they still have them ) anyway to no avail he’d been to the same customer care programme as the bouncers . He did tell me to engage with Boyd’s . They reluctantly gave me a room key . Aah back in the lift it needed an access key (first time anyone had ever mentioned this )I found the loo . Interestingly a resident followed me all the way . It seemed he had been wandering around for sometime?i In leaving I was told to leave quietly- apparently “I’d had a good evening “

Excellent food, drinks, and very special service. Actually dined 3 times in one week being served by Varsha, a highly competent young woman with a personality to match! Varsha made the entire experience quite memorable, and we will return on our next trip to the U.K.

The breakfast was expensive and very average. The staff were very pleasant. The lounge areas are lovely .

Not sure what to make of this restaurant. We went there for lunch prior to going to a matinee performance at the Savoy theatre. A specific lunch menus, reasonably priced for London. We both had trout which was excellent and ice cream for dessert plus some pinot white wine. Fairly minimalist decor and fairly minimalist service.

Food great, and for central London it was reasonably priced. We were served by two people who were excellent. We were there for my daughters graduation and without asking they piped 'congratulations' on her dessert plate.

Decent food. They recently changed the menu. We ordered 4 entrees, an appetizer, 2 cocktails and a bottle of wine. Total came to ~£220 for 4 people. This is on the high end of what we have spent at a non-Michelin restaurant. Wine list could have incorporated more French wines. Ambiance is nice, service staff are cordial, however not sure if the restaurant staffs enough resources for the patrons. I'm still confused about tip. This establishment automatically charged us. Sometimes restaurants do and sometimes they don't. Personally, I feel tips/gratuity should be the free will of the patron depending on factors of service. Otherwise, why not just raise the list price of dishes?!

I had a wonderful experience at Boyd's Grill & Wine Bar. The waiter was so attentive even though the restaurant was short staffed on the night I dined there. Service was fast despite that! Food was tasty. Decor and ambiance were noteworthy.

Cheap and centrally located but empty — I wonder why. Well, to put it bluntly, the Primitivo wine was very strange, and the platter just horrid. Everything tasted cheap and chewy, making for a joyless meal. If a central London eatery is empty on a Sat night, it’s probably for a bad reason!

Breakfast buffet has continental items and english breakfast, and costs over 25 pounds. Quite expensive. Tastes totally average, nothing great. Service fee is 12.5% which i have never seen for a buffet. Staff is friendly.

Really enjoyed the meal here in a comfortable and contemporary yet still period feeling venue. Cocktails were great but a slightly limited selection. The food had great portions and was perfect in every way and the waiter was friendly and offered great menu advice.

We dined here for pre-theatre dinner based on the 4.2 stars reviews. Really unsure as to why this has so many good reviews. This is a restaurant in a hotel lobby, with no natural and lighting is rather poor. The restaurant was rather empty but the service was very slow due to not many staff working. The menu is rather limited and fairly basic but to be fair the prices are reasonable. The food itself is pretty poor though. My bavette steak, ordered rare came cold and well done. The £12.50 margarita cocktail was rather tasteless. For desserts we ordered crème brulée which had not been caramelised on top and did not have the consistency or taste of a crème and the chocolate mousse was hard and sweet like a ganache. Overall I would not recommend this place, we would have had a better meal eating a sandwhich somewhere.

Made a reservation for birthday dinner, dressed up for it but didn't seem necessary as other hotel guests went in shorts. Only 2 tables of guests there when we arrived, but even after 10 minutes we hadn't even got hold of the menu. Staff were uninterested, or maybe they're just understaffed. We left soon after and had a more enjoyable night elsewhere.

We wandered in here, dragging and disheveled, after a long day of tourist activities, but were welcomed graciously and received excellent bar service. I’d hoped for a fun craft cocktail, but the menu contained only the classics. We were happy enough with the wine list and our glasses were never empty because we were so well tended to. Boyd’s was a great place to reset in the late afternoon and plan our evening!

This started out as a very bad experience. Dirty, sticky chair and a surly waitress who argued about whether it was clean or not. A drinks order that never arrived. A food order that was forgotten and had to be taken twice. Maria stepped in and got the drinks organised, took the food order again and followed up to make sure everything was going properly. Without her, the whole experience would have been rotten and a rating of one. PS: Average food, the bavette, in particular, was poor, terribly overcooked, just can’t cook bavette that way.

We were a group of 14 friends going to Cabaret at the Playhouse Theatre. We had pre-ordered and the waiter who dealt with our meals knew exactly who was having what, the serving was quick and efficient. Bill paying was a bit complicated as I had paid a deposit but the first bill had not taken account of this and there was a certain amount of confusion. Food was good and we got to the theatre on pretty good time considering the size of the group. Pre meal arrangements efficiently handled by manager Carl.

Nice place for a drink and a light meal. Friendly and attentive staff. Close on Sun and Mon. Price was not that bad. Not too crowded either on a Sat.

I stayed at Club Quarters Trafalgar Square. So, Boyds was convenient. However, its menu has limited choices for dinner. Its breakfast is adequate, though.

The place is lovely and feels special , however the service was slow and the waiter slightly patronising. Arrived at 6pm was given a table and finally ate at 7.08pm. We told the waiter several times that we had to be somewhere by 7.30 but it made no difference. Won’t go back or recommend. Food was good when it finally came.

Easy to find, two minute walk from Charing Cross station, Trafalgar Square, cuisine was excellent with a few original twists, service excellent, breakfasts fresh and delicious, we were well and professionally looked after by Carl, Liam, Maria and Peter. Highly recommended!

Absolutely appalling service, we were one of four tables in the bar with one waiter and bartender. We waited 5 minutes for menus and then over 15 minutes before the order for drinks was taken, being completely ignored by the server who would walk past...

We stayed at the Grand Trafalgar Square for one night as we had theatre tickets so decided to have a pre theatre drink at Boyds with our 11 year old, some places can be a bit daunting with a child as you’re never sure they...

Best quality food ever, highly recommended.

Ob sich jemals jemand in Boyds Grill & Wine Bar verirrt, der nicht ohnehin schon im Gebäude – also im Hotel The Grand oder dem dazugehörigen Businessclub – drin ist, ist unklar. Das Restaurant ist fensterlos und voller Marmor und befindet sich irgendwo mittig im Hotelkomplex, was trotz der hohen Decken ein leicht klaustrophobisches Gefühl aufkommen lässt. An der versteckten Lage wird es wohl auch gelegen haben, dass wir nahezu die einzigen Gäste waren. Da wir es etwas eilig hatten, war uns das ganz recht, ebenso wie die Tatsache, dass es mittags nur eine kleine Karte mit wenigen Menüoptionen gibt, aus der man für 22 Pfund zwei Gänge aussuchen kann. Auf der Webseite wird dieses Vorgehen als „efficient for even the most time constraint“ beschrieben, aber da das Personal unsere Anwesenheit zwischen den Gängen immer wieder zu vergessen schien, waren wir doch deutlich über eine Stunde dort. Der angebliche Zeitvorteil der kleinen Karte kam also nicht wirklich zum Tragen – dafür jedoch der Nachteil, dass die Auswahl eben klein ist. Wenn man etwas spezielle Ansprüche ans Essen hat (z. B. Vegetarier ist), kann das schon mal dazu führen, dass man die „Auswahl“ zwischen einer vegetarischen Vorspeise (Salat), einem vegetarischen Hauptgericht (Salat) und zwei vegetarischen Beilagen (Pommes und Salat) hat, also am Ende Salat und Salat mit Salat isst. So war es bei unserem ersten Besuch, und da es Salat woanders auch schneller und günstiger gibt, wollten wir eigentlich nicht mehr wiederkehren. Als wir es ein Jahr später doch taten, waren wir überrascht, plötzlich mehrere vegetarische Vorspeisen und Beilagen sowie – zusätzlich zum Salat – sogar einen veganen Burger auf der nach wie vor kleinen Lunchkarte zu finden. Und die Option, den „Pie of the Day“ fleischlos zu bestellen, gab es auch noch. Mehr kann man von einem Restaurant mit Fokus auf traditionell englischer Küche in der Hinsicht kaum erwarten. Außer, dass es nun auch dabei bleibt: Denn wenn es nächstes Jahr wieder nur Salat gibt, bleiben wir endgültig weg.

Ordered fillet steak with sweet potatoe fries. Quality of the steak is excellent. I could tell it would be by the general set up of the restaurant. Decor feels regal. Classy touch.

Tried their set "pre-theatre" menu, which is a nice idea if a little sparse, but when we looked at the main menu there was more options and weirdly at a lower price... the venue is nice enough too, except for the cheap feeling transparent plastic...

£80 chateaubriand for two was overcooked and chewy (asked medium rare, received medium well done). Would send back but would mean another 45 min wait. Disappointing.

We chose Boyds for a pre-theatre supper because of the “special” 2-course offer and because of its proximity to the Trafalgar Studios in Whitehall. The offer was £22.50 each for 2 courses. Our final bill came to £94 including service charge. Where did all the extras come from? Wine by the glass was very expensive and pre-supper G & T’s were £12.50 each - we only ordered single measures but let’s hope they were doubles! Service was very attentive - a new member of the team went overboard to look after us. Our Mains were good but not delicious. My pudding was described as gnocchi but was more like dough balls filled with scalding hot cream about which there was no warning. Consequently, I burnt the roof of my mouth just before going to the theatre. Thank goodness desert was served with ice cream!
