Spread Eagle in City of London, Westminster

It was a quick visit as I wanted a break from Christmas shopping, I received a very warm welcome from the girl behind the bar. The bar attracted me in due to the cosiness of the place with Christmas lights!

Kinga gave us an amazing service was so friendly and happy made our night amazing. Will definitely be coming again thanks to everyone.

Beautifully decorated for Christmas. We were welcomed as soon as we entered the pub. Food came quickly and glasses were promptly cleared. Nothing to complain about except the smell of the ladies’ toilets which got worse the closer you descended the stairs to them. Otherwise, would have been 5 stars.

Nice pub conveniently located in central London. It has a small outside area with heating, and a few tables to enjoy yourself when the weather is nice. The staff are friendly and helpful, and overall service was pretty quick. The layout inside is good, leaving a reasonable amount for standing around if it is packed, but equally, there is a good amount of tables available for sitting down and having a pint and a chat as you are passing through the area. Would not have any reservations about returning next time I’m in area.

Lovely atmosphere, thanks to Paul, the pub is so alive and so much fun! Watching all the Liverpool matches here is incredibly special- love the place.

The manager Nicole is very very welcoming and always makes sure we have everything we need. She is excellent with my food intolerance and always makes sure we have an enjoyable experience!

Small friendly pub - staff were excellent.food ok but a little overcooked but ok.

Plenty of choice on the menu and the food we chose was very good. Great for watching sports as a number of large TVs upstairs and downstairs.

The food was pretty good (I especially loved the pudding), and the service was great. It's a pity that the bathroom was in dire condition. It already smelt badly from outside the door and the smell was hard to manage while inside. The carpet was worn out in many places. For my review to get to five stars, the place would need a renovation. (review updated to explain the mild rating)

Came in for a little drink and a nibble while my friend was in town. We shared nachos and jerk chicken dumplings. The food was delicious and the service attentive and fast. Kinga was welcoming and we felt well looked after. Will definitely come back.

For Liverpool FC fans, this London gem is like a mini Anfield where fellow fans chant and sing together during the live broadcast of LFC games. The staff were prompt in serving drinks and food despite the crowd. The beers were good and priced reasonably.

Love this pub. Been a regular for many years and can highly recommend a visit. Staff are so friendly, accomodating and knowledgeable. Food excellent as is the service. Will be returning again and again. Thank you all for making the visits so welcoming.

So disappointing. We've been here many of times and the food has been good but today the roast had no veg and the potatoes were really hard.

The kitchen opening hours both on google and on their website are incorrect, and even though they clearly manage the listing and reply to reviews, staff claimed they couldn't do anything about kitchen hours and it was apparently just too bad that we actually dared rely on their published info. Not good enough. Edit in response to reply: I notice that you chose to be patronizing rather than addressing the incorrect information you're publishing. When I arrive in a hotel late and need to find somewhere to get dinner before the city closes, it *matters* that such hours are correct. Why is it difficult for you to put the actual opening hours up? What do you achieve - except negative reviews - by not publishing the real hours?

Came here on the weekend, the food, music was great, Brentwood lack live music, and I loved it. Had such a good time I came back tonight for quiz night. I’ll be back for sure. Excellent pub!!!

A cosy pub to hide from the rain. They have a good range of pub food and decent variety of drinks to choose from. Quiet space upstairs with table service available via mobile app.

Last minute visit to watch England Euros quarter final - managed to get a spot upstairs, but unfortunately the bar wasn't open up there, so had to go downstairs each time for drinks. This was hampered by many people congregating on both sides of the stairs, sitting and watching the football. No attempt to move to let people through, you were literally having to climb over people. Would have been a real issue had there been an emergency...

A nice place for a drink just off Oxford Street

I had an excellent time at the Spread Eagle. One of my favourite pubs in the UK when I visit the Camden area. Had a great chat with the bartender Bobby, who made my experience that much better. Great food, great choice of beers. Will be back!

Very nice pie, and lovely people behind the counter.

The food was fine, though only got a sandwich but the portion sizes are not worth the money. If you’re after a sandwich for lunch; you’re better off in pret.

The pub was fine, they have a descent selection of drinks and nice atmosphere. The steak was very interesting and came cut in pieces that were cooked from all the sides. However there was a spot to seat on a Thursday evening which was great

Found this little pub just off Oxford street fairly near Oxford Circus, I was with my 14 year old daughter and we were a bit hungry so popped in at lunchtime. Found a table straight away and ordered 2 burger meals which were just fine and filled us up nicely! Good atmosphere and there was an upstairs as well, service was quick and no complaints at all. Strange that it was the only pub I've been in that does not serve J2O, but hey ho, daughter was happy with coke!

Professional, friendly, and funny staff. The busy was busy when I arrived but we got served very quickly. I would definitely go back to this venue. Food was worth the money!

Have visited this pub a number of times when in London. The staff make it a really welcoming place, such that it has the feel that you are in your local pub. The food is great and always a great, well kept drinks selection. If you're in London looking for a traditional pub where you'll be welcomed as a valued customer by friendly and clearly motivated staff then search out "The Spread".

Returned to the Spreadeagle on a recent visit to London and was not disappointed at all . The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. The staff were lovely and work very hard keeping all the customers fed and watered . Good choice of food and drinks always served with a smile. The Spreadeagle is ideally located for sightseeing in London . Will call in on our next visit .

Always my first stop whenever I head down to London. Atmosphere is great, particularly when the football is on. Staff are always friendly and polite even at the busiest of times when they’re rushed off their feet. Hope to be back soon!

Nice enough pub similar to alot of Greene King pubs. Small and located just off Oxford Street so can get very busy. Drinks were nice enough and service was friendly. Prices typical London prices.

Great food, served fresh and hot, at a Liverpudlian pub near the Bond Street Underground station. We enjoyed the burgers - meat and non-meat - the mac & cheese, and the desserts. They have vegan and vegetarian options, which seems to be rare at London pubs. Cheers!

I came to watch the football and meet my nephew. The screen could have been bigger but the crowd was lively when Liverpool were playing

Walked in during a Liverpool game and was greeted by chants and a great vibe for watching the game! Shame about the result but the staff where fantastic, couldn’t recommend more if you’re in the area

This pub is one of the best pub I ever been too.. Big shout to manager to the staff member's, Kinga, Kuba Paul, mickyas and everyone else. They are very welcoming, friendly. I don’t go to other pubs, this is my regular. If you ever around Oxford street come and have a lunch or dinner and drink, they do tasty foods as well :)).

I went to Spread Eagles to watch the Carabao Cup Final as it is a loved place bu Liverpool fans and they were in the final that day.. The atmosphere was fantastic, food was lovely and staff were kind, polite and very friendly.. I will most definitely be returning even on non-football event days

Came across this pub by chance, while shopping on Oxford Street, there was an upstairs seating which is where we sat, lovely atmosphere and food was very nice and reasonable priced for London, will definitely used again when next in London!

As a Liverpool fan, I was working in London and gutted to miss out on tickets to Liverpool v Chelsea because of it. The next best thing was to watch it in a pub with a decent and friendly atmosphere. I did some research and found the Spread Eagle. Most reviews were fairly glowing, so I chose to ignore the odd rogue review (someone complaining for being overcharged for their milk or something) and I made my way there. I got there an hour early, as I planned to eat, but there were no free tables on either floor. So I had beer and some nuts. The milk complainer had an issue with the drinks prices. They are higher than up north, but very much in keeping with Central London prices. The beer I had was good and was served by smiling and chatty staff, who were always polite and helpful, despite it being really busy. As it happened, Liverpool won comfortably and it was an amazing atmosphere. But having said that, I think the atmosphere would have been great anyway, because this is a top pub to visit. I went on my own, due to work, but I didn't feel alone (YNWA?) and I had a thoroughly fulfilling evening. I will definitely return when next working in London.

Busy Xmas time drink with friends late afternoon,early evening.lager and IPA was good ,service was good .A friend ordered a selection of pretty dodgy hot bar snacks which were not very good . And prices not cheap for a pub.

The Spread Eagle is truly one of the best. Louis, one of the bartenders is outstanding, attentive and caring. Also, the food is delicious!

Matilda hope i spelt it correctly her snd another bar staff can’t remember his name but matilda brought the chips I ordered after a miss hap with the takeaway bags. She then brought it to ne outside of the pub and along with the sauces. This is honestly the best service ive had from pub so olease make sure she is looked after.
