Large group dining in this characterful venue. Cosy and private with truly attentive service. Really wholesome food and generous portions made a lovely evening 👍

I asked for 2 glasses of wine and got charged almost 40 pounds. Crazy.

Full English breakfast was delightful apart from the hash browns which were soggy Service a little on the slow side but overall my experience was worth while 😀

A big thank you to managers and staff for helping our disabled group by allowing us to use the toilets yesterday. The queues for the public loo was very long and the public toilets charge £1.50 per person. So thank you Crusting Pipe for helping us.

Have been here many times, always enjoyed it but prices rises are very high. Went to the ladies, first toilet out of order, the one I used had no toilet seat, didn't realise there were another 2. Saw bad waiting service.

Staff are rude and drinks are over priced. Avoid unless you want the staff to make you feel stupid.

My friend and I went for a light lunch and a drink before the Theatre which was perfect. The sharing platter was fabulous, the atmosphere was great and the service was above and beyond. Love this place.

The place charged my card twice. First one they said it didnt go thru. Machine had problem as it was Sunday afternoon. Upgrade your network. Its really bad and now i have to deal with my bank for this. Really annoying

We have eaten at this restaurant before so it was good to have a return visit. The food and service are both excellent and I just love this very unusual restaurant with all the different alcoves and private dining areas. There is quite often entertainment in the courtyard which you can enjoy whilst you dine.

Had Sunday lunch with friends and the food was delicious. The atmosphere was relaxing and there were singers and musicians entertaining. The staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Would highly recommend and hope to be back.

I recently dined at the Crusting Pupe and it was a letdown. The food service was poor—my friend and I ordered specific dishes, but we were instead served salads, with only a scant apology from the staff. Additionally, while my friends’ wine glasses were still filled, my glass was empty. When I ordered a new bottle, the staff only topped up my friends' glasses instead of filling my empty one. The lack of attention to detail and service made for a frustrating experience.

The restaurant did not have our reservation when we arrived but they sat us anyway which was nice. The waitress brought our drinks and never came back to take our food order. All of the tables around us were being serviced. After an hour we had to flag the waitress down for a check. We never ate. We were sitting outside with the queue of people waiting on the toilets. An unpleasant experience overall.

Yes, it's expensive (just over £11 for a peroni and raspberry lemonade) but what a beautiful place. Staff are efficient and drinks are brought promptly. A warm day and a lot of walking, so we really enjoyed the cold drinks, muscians playing, and later an opera singer..

Lovely traditional pub / wine bar situated within the Covent Garden piazza. With seating inside and out, the atmosphere was relaxed with the sounds of the operatic buskers added to the occasion. The staff were welcoming and friendly and although not the fastest at busy times, they kept smiling. Drinks selection was wide and food choices varied. Quality was high and prices reasonable, especially given the location.

Probably the worst dining out experience I have experienced in over 60 years of eating out Untrained rude staff, poor quality ingredients over cooked, badly presented and when I complained I was given 15% discount still charged 12.5% service - do that as I have such fond memories of this establishment when it was competently run. Old friends do not go there now

Overall an OK experience for breakfast. Poached eggs hard, decent amount of food but bit more pricey in comparison to others around. Entertainment was good though.

Loved the potato and leek soup, bangers and mash superb. My friend enjoyed her food as well.

I live overseas and always use this restaurant when in London (I come over every 3 years). I have been there twice this week

An impromptu visit, we were seated in the courtyard which was delightful as it was a warm and bright evening. We loved the opera singer performance. Our servers were very accommodating and happy to take our orders quickly. We made some slight tweaks to bespoke to our tastes which was no problem at all and didn’t slow down our serve at all. Our food arrived hot and perfectly cooked. Delicious food, great atmosphere, everything you want in your experience when dining out.

We loved the atmosphere, and Bruno was absolutely the best of it. His suggestions were super wise. The food is not entirely exciting but normal.

This place is in a great location in the bustling Covent Garden area. Plenty of tables outside where you are likely to be serenaded - beware as some singers can be very loud. Excellent spot for a quick break during shopping. The staff were very friendly and efficient as it is very busy.

I came to the Crusting Pipe for a glass of champagne, and a break from my travel group. I sat outside in the nice weather, there was a live band, and service was excellent. I had the most wonderful experience all by myself. It was a great break, and the champagne was excellent.

Awesome place to have lunch. Vibrant but relaxed. Excellent food. Lovely staff. All topped of by the musicians and opera singers entertaining you.

Overall a decent place. Lady hostess was nice and the gentleman with the blonde hair was nice as well. When we initially rocked up, the older guys practically ran off when we went to ask a question. Ordered some healthy dish didn’t change my life but wasn’t terrible. Great location would eat here again.

If you get tired while walking around the city, you can stop by and soothe your mind and body by drinking wine, coffee, or tea while listening to live music. This is a place I always visit if it's my first time in London or if I have a junior I don't know much about. Rather than inside the bar, you can sit outside at an outdoor table and spend time listening to light, well-known classical live music (string or vocal music).

We were wandering around covent garden looking for a quick drink and this place seemed lively and had some busking violinists in one corner when we arrived. After they finished a solo opera singer appeared and was not only a brilliant singer but very funny with it. We just had couple of cocktails and enjoyed a very pleasant half hour enjoying the vibes. Nice experience.

The wonderful singer was the main attraction. Food and wine was average but waitress was excellent- service with humour. Even with a disputed bill the waitress remained professional and smiling. Would recommend as a good venue to enjoy the entertainment.

The eggs florentine were good. I asked for scones and they brought me just one tiny one. Slow service. The only good thing is that there are always very good singers in the cap

Awful service, salmon was scrag ends, shrimp on linguine were freezing cold, pasta over cooked and lukewarm, servers never checked up on us even as they walked past. Keep away, there are plenty nicer ones to visit.

We stopped here early afternoon for a glass of Rose (well we are on holiday). Was encouraged to share a bottle instead of 2 large glasses, happy to go along with that. The wine was delish, the service we found quick and pleasant. The buskers entertaining us were fantastic. At first a string quartet, followed by a operatic singer. What a lovely day...

The food was good, though not ‘out of this world’ what makes this place special is the atmosphere, with live music performances including opera and violin players right outside the restaurant. It is a very cosy atmosphere.

Very disappointed of this place. I asked a table for one, got in had a table and waited there for 20min to have someone come and get my order after asking me if I was sure my date was coming. Had a English breakfast the food was okey but you can definitely get better in a local pub. The “old lady ” staff member was nice and friendly but the younger ones were not very interested by their customers. Don’t ask them to smile So overall a disappointing experience for such a great location.

Four of us, just having coffee on a weekday morning, it took awhile to shower to a table. We then sat for probably 20 minutes still no we did come to take our order so I went inside. I was told to go back to the table and someone would come and take our order Another five minutes past then somebody came out and finally took the order. Another 15 minute wait for the coffees and I have to say I spoke twice to a male waiter and his attitude was very surly and couldn’t give a monkeys. I wouldn’t recommend and I won’t return

It’s a shame that the quality has dropped greatly since we last visited. The service was extremely slow (45 mins for the meal to arrive)- bear in mind there were only about 4 tables busy (so very quiet). The food display and taste was just not there, very poor. They advertised a vegan sausage and mash with gravy - the gravy is a blunt tomato sauce and the mash had big pieces of unmashed potatoes. It brings no pleasure to rate this restaurant a low score, but wanted to alert future customers that it is no longer a good quality restaurant and the service might take time.

Arrived for our afternoon tea reservation and was sat in against a hallway entrance wall. We asked to move as there was no way to move my right arm by the way the table sat. We were moved but not acknowledged for over 20 minutes. The waitress was busy yelling at the staff,l. She was being super rude to customers and staff, tossed our menus on the table and then refused to acknowledge us or take our order. The waitress was extremely rude to the staff and we had enough of being ignored so we just up and left to a different place. Absolutely appalled by the behavior of the waitress and the energy she created in the space. Would not recommend. Ruined our reserved plans for afternoon tea.

We were greeted by a pleasant waiter. Seated and ordered two lattes. Flavour of the Lattes were lovely, couldn't fault them on that. However, we couldn't say the same for the temperature of the coffee. Tepid at best.

A very nice place to have breakfast and lunch. Very atmospheric design. The service is very fast and efficient. I would still sit there with a cup of coffee. We ate omelet and salmon with eggs. Everything was fresh, but the taste was lacking. Maybe this is my impression. Therefore, I will give them 5*, since the focus of this establishment and the food are consistent.

Booked for afternoon tea to celebrate a birthday. Considering the price we paid I left feeling rather disappointed. There was no wow factor as the food arrived and we found it to be at best very average. Most of the cakes had a weird semolina texture and the I was left very baffled why the afternoon tea had a selection of sandwiches (ham, chicken, salmon) that included a slice of vegan cheese on an open bun topped with tomato! Clearly, this afternoon tea was not aimed at those who follow a vegetarian or even vegan diet, so this was rather strange. I appreciate that Saturday afternoons is a busy time to visit but we found the staff were rather abrupt and not the most welcoming. 4 people and over £200 with the service charge added to the bill by them... this was not value for money. Sadly I won't recommend their afternoon tea. The setting in Covent Garden and the musical artist in the courtyard area is great though.

Good place to meet friends & room at back tucked away if you want some privacy. Food was excellent, some portions a bit small & squash salad main disappointing. Steak cooked perfectly. Staff helpful but when we wanted another drink inside they insisted we sat outside in the cold - not sure why?! You can listen to the buskers - opera singer etc. So depends if you like it or not as quite loud.

Located in the heart of Covent Garden and featuring wonderful singers and musicians throughout the day and evening, this is my favourite place to eat out in all of London. The food obviously is excellent too, very fresh and delicious, well presented. The owner is also a wine merchant and he knows the good stuff… Worthy of a particular mention is waiter Bruno, a very fine and kind Italian gentleman who is living proof that rare excellence can be achieved in his profession and that this outstanding service really adds considerably to the pleasure of his guests and to the tone of the establishment. @Bruno, we look forward to another visit!

Very attractive seating both outside in the center of Covent Garden and also underneath in the undercroft/wine cellar style decor. Food all comes quickly and is of good quality for the price. I would say some portions can be unbalanced - starters small and mains larger, especially the roast dinners being huge (not always a bad thing though!) Have visited twice since November and will definitely be coming back.

Absolutely our favourite place to come to in London. My best friends and I absolutely adore our Saturday afternoon into evenings catch up, several times a year, at the Crusting Pipe. The sharing board really hits a spot washed down with perfectly served fizz. The staff go above and beyond to make us comfortable and most importantly laugh. They really are great staff. Today, we were literally crying with laughter and the waiter was superb. Made our evening even more special! The entertainment from the professional musicians is spectacular- please remember to tip them though! Just a totally special place to be!

We visited London for my husband’s birthday and found this quaint wonderful restaurant for a late dinner Our meal was so delicious just mouthwatering and the pudding was amazing too The waiter was so friendly and helpful as we sat inside and the table was perfect in the back of the restaurant. We will definitely be returning soon and highly recommend this delightful hidden gem..

Lovely visit today to redeem some vouchers we received at Christmas. Food was delicious including crab starter and lamb and fish main. Friendly staff especially Shirley who helped us sort voucher. We had a lovely day. Thank you

APPALLING HOSTESS & HOST. We wanted a table to meet with family that we hadn't seen in 20 years. Everywhere was reserved yet the place was empty. We asked what time a table would become available and we were ignored as they moved to the next patrons waiting. I have never met such rudeness in my life!

After a long day sightseeing we stopped at the crusting pipe for coffee and snacks. We ordered coffees, a cheese plate and a couple of puddings. When the coffee turned up it was lukewarm , had to be drunk straight away. The cheese plate was very sparse , about 3 slices of cheese 5small biscuits and some grapes for the £10.95 charge. Two of us had treacle tart which I expected to be warm, unfortunately it was stone cold which made it very unpleasant to eat as it killed all the flavour a treacle tart should have, it should be at least warm so it's a little gooy but this was just a solid cold block. Wasn't impressed at all especially as the bill was over £60 for 4 coffee a tea,a cheese plate and 3 puddings. Wouldn't recommend to anyone

Popped in there for a bite to eat after sitting in the piazza listening to the operatic busker. A bit cold temperature wise, but the service and the food were good and the prices reasonable.

Food was ok in the end but took absolutely ages to come. We were a decent sized party of 9 and there were plenty of other big groups in there with us but the gap between courses was crazy long and I'm not sure what animal was used in place of the turkey but it wasn't great. Very high cost, very small servings. Could have been great, was average at best.

This place is very authentic and has a wonderful atmosphere, with it being right in the center of covent Garden. I had the "Ardennes Pate", along with the "Crab & Prawn Linguine". The taste was fantastic and the entertainment superb. The food did take a long time to come but we were compensated with additional wine. There is a service charge added to the bill.

We typically visit the Crusting Pipe when we visit London. It's a great place to sit, people watch and enjoy the entertainment. We had a few snacks and a drink. Our server has worked there for 40 years and knows her stuff. We'll be back again next visit.

Fuimos a tomar algo a la hora de desayuno 4 personas, dos adultos y dos niñas, y para poder sentarse te preguntaban si ibas a comer; los adultos decidimos entonces tomar un desayuno cada uno pero para las niñas no había nada dulce y ‘sólo’ tomaron un chocolate, digo ‘sólo’ porque al camarero que nos dio la mesa no le sentó muy bien que dos de los 4 no comieran nada, ¿qué hago, obligo a dos niñas a tomar un English breakfast completo o alguna otra cosa que no les gusta o a la que no están acostumbradas para desayunar?. A pesar del servicio el desayuno estaba muy bueno y el ambiente genial.
