Had breakfast which was really nice and was within earshot of the street performers who were extremely talented.

The food was good, though not ‘out of this world’ what makes this place special is the atmosphere, with live music performances including opera and violin players right outside the restaurant. It is a very cosy atmosphere.

Very disappointed of this place. I asked a table for one, got in had a table and waited there for 20min to have someone come and get my order after asking me if I was sure my date was coming. Had a English breakfast the food was okey but you can definitely get better in a local pub. The “old lady ” staff member was nice and friendly but the younger ones were not very interested by their customers. Don’t ask them to smile So overall a disappointing experience for such a great location.

It’s a shame that the quality has dropped greatly since we last visited. The service was extremely slow (45 mins for the meal to arrive)- bear in mind there were only about 4 tables busy (so very quiet). The food display and taste was just not there, very poor. They advertised a vegan sausage and mash with gravy - the gravy is a blunt tomato sauce and the mash had big pieces of unmashed potatoes. It brings no pleasure to rate this restaurant a low score, but wanted to alert future customers that it is no longer a good quality restaurant and the service might take time.

Arrived for our afternoon tea reservation and was sat in against a hallway entrance wall. We asked to move as there was no way to move my right arm by the way the table sat. We were moved but not acknowledged for over 20 minutes. The waitress was busy yelling at the staff,l. She was being super rude to customers and staff, tossed our menus on the table and then refused to acknowledge us or take our order. The waitress was extremely rude to the staff and we had enough of being ignored so we just up and left to a different place. Absolutely appalled by the behavior of the waitress and the energy she created in the space. Would not recommend. Ruined our reserved plans for afternoon tea.

A very nice place to have breakfast and lunch. Very atmospheric design. The service is very fast and efficient. I would still sit there with a cup of coffee. We ate omelet and salmon with eggs. Everything was fresh, but the taste was lacking. Maybe this is my impression. Therefore, I will give them 5*, since the focus of this establishment and the food are consistent.

Very attractive seating both outside in the center of Covent Garden and also underneath in the undercroft/wine cellar style decor. Food all comes quickly and is of good quality for the price. I would say some portions can be unbalanced - starters small and mains larger, especially the roast dinners being huge (not always a bad thing though!) Have visited twice since November and will definitely be coming back.

Absolutely our favourite place to come to in London. My best friends and I absolutely adore our Saturday afternoon into evenings catch up, several times a year, at the Crusting Pipe. The sharing board really hits a spot washed down with perfectly served fizz. The staff go above and beyond to make us comfortable and most importantly laugh. They really are great staff. Today, we were literally crying with laughter and the waiter was superb. Made our evening even more special! The entertainment from the professional musicians is spectacular- please remember to tip them though! Just a totally special place to be!

Absolutely one of the best places in London. Genuinely the nicest staff and great sharing boards. Fizz goes down a great. Always the first place we come to when we visit London. Tonight the waiter whose name we didn’t get, ( half Italian half Colombian) was absolutely superb- such great service and totally hilarious. Had us crying with laughter! A real credit to your team There is nowhere like it in the world. Spectacular musicians (but please tip them!) adds atmosphere to this wonderful place

Had tea and scone had to ask for the scones and water we ordered after a wait . Worth £20 I'm not sure not busy .

Everything was for 10. The food it's really tasty, sure you will enjoy it! The staff very kind and friendly. The waiter explained us everything about the food we choose and he wa very friendly.

One of our favorite places.. listen to the opera singers outside and enjoy the intimacy of this cozy restaurant. Our waiter was personable and professional. Delicious food too!

Food was ok in the end but took absolutely ages to come. We were a decent sized party of 9 and there were plenty of other big groups in there with us but the gap between courses was crazy long and I'm not sure what animal was used in place of the turkey but it wasn't great. Very high cost, very small servings. Could have been great, was average at best.

Excellent venue and one of a number of visits. It is always as good as the last and that is always good.

This place is very authentic and has a wonderful atmosphere, with it being right in the center of covent Garden. I had the "Ardennes Pate", along with the "Crab & Prawn Linguine". The taste was fantastic and the entertainment superb. The food did take a long time to come but we were compensated with additional wine. There is a service charge added to the bill.

We typically visit the Crusting Pipe when we visit London. It's a great place to sit, people watch and enjoy the entertainment. We had a few snacks and a drink. Our server has worked there for 40 years and knows her stuff. We'll be back again next visit.

Fuimos a tomar algo a la hora de desayuno 4 personas, dos adultos y dos niñas, y para poder sentarse te preguntaban si ibas a comer; los adultos decidimos entonces tomar un desayuno cada uno pero para las niñas no había nada dulce y ‘sólo’ tomaron un chocolate, digo ‘sólo’ porque al camarero que nos dio la mesa no le sentó muy bien que dos de los 4 no comieran nada, ¿qué hago, obligo a dos niñas a tomar un English breakfast completo o alguna otra cosa que no les gusta o a la que no están acostumbradas para desayunar?. A pesar del servicio el desayuno estaba muy bueno y el ambiente genial.

Great place, service and food were amazing!

We had Sunday beef roast. The beef was dry, chewie and overcooked and the vegetables uncooked. Unbelievable achievement of the chef.

Good Sunday roast. They dealt well with a large party. Busy and a good atmosphere. I thought the singing was actually miming for the most part.

Great ambience. There was a tenor singing opera songs while we were there. I don’t know about the food because I only had a drink.

Lovely wee restaurant in the lower courtyard at Covent Garden. There is a string quintette that busks here - and has done for many years. Lovely to sit and watch and listen, very good fun.

Very nice bar. Came for a couple of drinks before an event. The staff greeting customers were sharp and unfriendly, almost put me off entirely. I noticed them have the same attitude to other customers so not just us. The staff actually serving us were lovely though, can't fault them at all.

Great atmosphere and we had the charcuterie and cheese sharing platter. Lovely rose wine, recommended by our waiter. Plus the string quartet and singer were excellent.

Just my all time favourite place in London for food and wine in the centre, - love the bangers and mash!

I enjoyed a relaxing midday meal at the Crusting Pipe under the kind care of George. He took extra care to ensure I my meal was onion free as I have a severe allergy. He even agreed to be photographed by this silly American wanting to memorialize the moment.

The restaurant is nice & cosy, in the Heart of Covent Garden, the menu has quite a big choice of food though at times too fancy and quite pricey. The staff Is polite however, a little edgy at times, we felt hurried towards the end of our meal and could not relax and enjoy the evening o the full.

Very disappointed with the service. I ordered a glass lf wine which was served with ice in the bottom. I ordered looking at the QR code and when I got the check it was a different price. I asked and was told they hadn't updated the information in the qr code. A glass of wine was more expensive than a coctel and they didn't serve it properly (they did not show the bottle before serving). The waiter acted annoyed when I asked about the bill even tho I was very polite. Would not recomend.

Nice restaurant. Ordered the seafood linguine and sausage and mash which were enjoyed, however the seafood linguine only came with prawns when it said assorted seafood on the menu. Live music from opera singers during lunch time- very interactive and fun! Would recommend.

Very nice wine selection, but everything else - food, service, cleanliness - seems to have gone downhill from what it used to be.

Nice staff, food was okay. Very very dirty toilets. We would not have eaten if we had seen the toilets before hand. Plastic and dirty pieces of paper hanging from the flower arrangements.

Made reservations days ahead of time. Sat at our table for 27 minutes before anyone greeted us and that was only because the people beside us were so frustrated they were not able to get their bill they asked for someone to come over. They were openly trashing complaining customers. Would not come back here again ever nor would I recommend to others.

Fabulous staff, but very disappointing food. Had the grilled chicken with lentils, which was dry and basic. The pear crumble wasn't a crumble at all. The table top was sticky. There seems to be a frequent assumption in central London now, that the location should somehow make up for a lack of food quality or justify anything they charge you. It doesn't.

Excellent food and amazingly polite service. Special kudos to George, a fine and super agreeable Greek waiter who served us 👌👏👏👏

Booked for my mums birthday we where sitting for 50 min waiting on our food and when the food finally arrived there was no apology or anything its so unfortunate as the location and atmosphere is amazing just a shame about the service

Busy place as I suppose you would expect it to be in covent garden. Little bit unorganised and we had to go and get our own cocktail menu even though we said we only wanted a drink. Not at all sure to start with weather we should go up and order or if we had table service.

Had a lovely lunch here while visiting London, we had a graze board & a bottle of wine, lovely atmosphere we sat in a little alcove. Was very relaxing & Staff lovely. Cost about 60 pounds which I thought was quite reasonable for Covent Garden.

AVOID! Waiter is extremely unfriendly. Typical tourist trap, rude staff and overpriced. If you want to listen to the classical music being played there, use the wine bar in the same area or stand upstairs. Don't waste your money at this place!.

Booked for valentine's and was late for our reservation, but was shown to a table immediately. The restaurant's had a fantastic, cosy vibe, and we even had soft blankets (which was great, as we sat outdoors). The service was impeccable, and when we told them we were short on time as we've had a show to catch, they made sure everything was brought out quickly so we could still enjoy our meal. The waitress was knowledgeable about the wines too. 100% recommended this place.

Davies wine bar in the middle of covent garden. Great choice of wine, food was tasty. Missing those wonderful giant olives they used to serve. It was quite busy on Saturday, but service was quick.

La varietà del cibo è scarsa, le porzioni davvero inadeguate. Parte del menù ci è stato detto che andava prenotata (si trattava di una bruschetta... Nulla di complicato da preparare). Il menù non era chiaro, abbiamo ordinato patate arrosto, ed abbiamo ricevuto un tortino di patate ammassate, all'interno crude, anche piuttosto insipido. L'insalata mista era una porzione estremamente esigua. Salviamo solamente il vino.... Italiano

Afternoon Tea was a disappointment. The service was very slow even though the place was not that busy. There was no strawberry jam for our scones so they gave us marmalade. We complained so they brought us cranberry sauce as an alternative. The scones were dry as was the top side of the sandwiches. The cake selection was also disappointing. On the plus side the sandwich and roll fillings were fair. Compared to many other afternoon tea venues this left a lot to be desired.

Fish pie 🥧 was fantastic, creamy mushed potatoes , scallops, boiled egg. Also we had cinnamon pears, well balanced not too sweet combined with coconut ice cream 🍨, so we loved it. Service is pretty good , I can recommend for anyone who wants to get truly English Sunday roast. * Vegan , vegetarian , pescatarian options available.

Friend and I ordered steak. Asked for medium rare, both came medium well. Couldn’t be asked to send back as very busy. Side of dauphinoise were essentially sliced potato baked in the oven -lacked flavor and extremely dry. When you’re charging £31 for a less then 8oz steak and a side, you’d expect it to be spot on.

Very enjoyable lunch before going to a theatre matinee. Lovely atmosphere, great service and food. Not cheap but well worth it as a treat.

I love this pub I've been going there for years and enjoying the entertainment with my mum and various friends. My goddaughter flew over from America on Sunday and I her took her there, and we spent a very happy couple of hours outside with a bottle of wine. I was shocked however to be confronted by one of the singers as we left, asking me "please delete the video you took of me you've been sitting there for ages and haven't put any money in the basket!" I found this very intimidating and have never been confronted in this way by any of the musicians before - we gave her £5. I understand it's their living and times are hard but I'm assuming it's not a requirement of the pub that you have to pay for the entertainment, and I definitely will going back.

The wine was good and it’s a cute place but the food leaves a lot to be desired. The most delightful thing here was boiled carrots. The chicken was honestly great but the lentils it was paired with were a miss. And the mac and cheese is entirely avoidable.

Although close to Covent Garden, this shop had a large selection of whiskeys for affordable prices. If you want Scotch, head downstairs.

The restaurant is very cold. We didn’t go there in the really cold spell but it was still too cold. Staff really not that interested. Kept propping the outside door open to assist them. Food was ok. No alternative to Xmas menu. Will not be returning.

Lovely little place with lots of character. Just be careful when ordering....£10 for a shot is a bit much in my eyes. Good job my friends and I only had the one! 🤣

Brilliant setting in the lower court of the old market. Free (collection plate) entertainment at the stairs by singers and musicians at most times. Food and drink available as an extra charge. Unique place to soak up the atmosphere.

Food we only ordered snacks and a starter with a bottle of wine that was all fine...... however staff rude and ignore you even when you want to pay... I do not complain but this was shocking service with a captive ordiance

Turned up on a Saturday evening without booking, the manager bent over backwards to accommodate us and I wasn’t disappointed, food and wine was great, service was amazing from a lovely Italian waiter and I can’t wait to go back… But booking will give you a better chance in this beautiful setting

A small room with a party of work colleagues having an Xmas meal was as near perfect as possible, great food & great drink.

We had a lovely experience at The Crusting Pipe yesterday. The staff were particularly helpful and accommodating. Shout out to Bruno and the manager on shift for excellent service. Great food and wine too :)

My friend and I went for dinner at this place. Apparently, the restaurant being quite central in Covent Garden, serves quite terrible food. I ordered the dish “Roast Turkey” from their Christmas special menu. As pretty as it looks, as disgusting it was to taste. The turkey seemed stale, dry and undercooked. Absolutely no flavour. Kindly don’t get caught up in the location of the restaurant. Simply pathetic.

Would not recommend this wine bar, there are much better ones around. Food is way below average, tables and menus were dirty, service is poor, just a general poor quality tourist trap.

Omg I know they are stressful times for the hospitality industry now but we couldn’t have been looked after better by the staff at the crusting pipe.They were polite with a smile and so helpful by getting a larger table for my brother and partner to join us for drinks .We always come here for the experience and today met once again our expectations Thank You 🙏
