My wife and I were looking for a nice wine bar to relax in and found this gem. It's cozy and quite enough to hold a conversation without having to ask someone to repeat themselves. Be watchful when approaching, it's a lone door, no "store front." Next time we're in London, we definitely want to go back.

This wine bar is one of those rare finds in the heart of Leicester Square, tucked away between two corner shops, it’s almost invisible to the average passerby. Locals might struggle to spot it, and for tourists, it’s practically impossible, which is exactly why it remains uncrowded, even on a Saturday evening. The wine selection is good but the experience is slightly let down by the glassware, which doesn’t quite do justice to the wines. The cheese selection looked promising, but unfortunately, about half the options were unavailable when we visited, which was disappointing. The ambiance is intimate but leans a bit on the outdated side, charming in a nostalgic way, though it could benefit from a refresh. That said, if you’re after a quiet, low-key spot to enjoy a glass (or a bottle) away from the chaos of central London, it’s a worthwhile stop.

We booked a table, always advisable, for lunch on a Wednesday. It happened to be quiet at that time. The service was really good. We all thought the food was delicious and surprisingly good value for such a central London location. We drank the Provence rosé - very drinkable - and tried some lovely new cheeses. Been before when it was busier and the experience was just as good. Highly recommend it.

First of all we love the Cork and Bottle. Good food, nice wine great location. We arrived Sunday lunch..very quiet. Was handed a Bin wine list of recommended wines. First 2 weren’t available after much back and forth. Third at £45 marked was available. We ordered this. All good. Came to bill and wine was charged at £80! I asked why and they said 45 was take out price! Apparently confusion with other customers. 1 why do you present in house diners with a list of wines with only take out price and no indication of actual price or that this was take out rate? 2 if you are going to do this then tell client this is take out price. They weren’t busy, we were only clients in place. And there had already been a long debate about what and wasn’t available.Especially when other clients had been caught out. At best this is sharp practise. Very misleading and deliberately so. Obviously when paying you don’t wish to make a big fuss in front of colleagues but we all agreed very poor indeed. Including wine waiter. Anyway bad experience unlikely to now return and warning to other diners.

I recently visited this wine bar for my first date with the woman who has since become the love of my life, and I couldn't have asked for a more perfect setting. From the moment we stepped in, the atmosphere was intimate yet inviting, with soft lighting and the warm hum of conversation in the background. The staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive, helping us pick the perfect wine pairings and guiding us through their impressive selection with great knowledge and dedication. The ambiance was romantic, with cozy seating arrangements that allowed us to focus on each other without distractions. The wine itself was exquisite and each glass seemed to complement the moment perfectly. The cheese board was perfect and enhanced our conversation and made all the experience unforgettable. There was a magical energy in the air that I don’t think could have been replicated anywhere else. I’ll always remember that night as the start of something incredible, and this wine bar will forever hold a special place in my heart. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to create a memorable experience.

Nice wine and ambience obviously and the staff were pleasant, but my experience was spoiled by severely lacklustre vegetarian options. A ball of burrata with bread and beetroot puree is a starter, definitely NOT a main course. Gnocchi or risotto are similarly pitiful and unimaginative vegetarian options, inexcusable in the modern West End. For my meat-eating friends, simply presenting a small shepherds pie in a dish on a plate is not a main meal either. Why are we expected to purchase extra side dishes to make a "main course" complete? Pleasant but I won't be returning.

We said no but added we understand it's busy being a Saturday. My partner and I have been coming here for years but today being greeted quite rudely actually took us aback! My partner and his daughter left very upset but I ordered a drink and stood at the bar and was told it's fine standing there, oh that's decent I thought! When I got my bill they kindly charged me a service charge for the privilege of us all being treated so rudely and myself being told ok to stand basically in the corner of the bar, thank you very much I thought. I told the bar man please remove the service charge and after about 5 minutes drinking my glass of Champagne left to join my partner. I was so upset to find out his daughter after this experience got on the tube and she went home! Thank you Cork and Bottle for absolutely ruining our day out in London. Shame on you!!

What a disappointing evening. Had been so looking forward to eating at the iconic Jeremy Lee’s restaurant in Dean Street but ended up feeling like a naughty school girl! The food was so delicious until I had some slightly under cooked cod - it had mostly been lovely and flaky but was a bit gelatinous, sinewy and undercooked in the middle, and I had left this bit on my plate. It was no big deal and I explained this when they cleared the table. I hadn’t asked for a refund or said I wouldn’t pay, however, I was startled some time later to be reacquainted with my leftovers by a server trying to explain that this is apparently how the chef chooses to cook his fish. My uneaten food had been brought back out of the kitchen for all to see like I was some naughty school girl who hadn’t finished her dinner! The server continued to explain until I was left saying how uncomfortable he was making me feel. They said they wouldn’t charge for the dish and would we like to go for a free drink in the members’ bar - no thanks! Really don’t expect to be grilled like that in any restaurant but was so disappointed to feel like this here. Must just say, the chicken pie is to die for though and our original server was an absolute peach! 😅
