The best restaurants serving British food in St James's City of London, Westminster London

£8 is an awful lot for a pint, but it ia central London, but I do object to it being served in a disposable plastic cup.

I’m been coming here for a very long time and it’s always excellent which is quite the achievement over 20 years. Pricey, but then it is in Chinatown. You get what you pay for.

Great vibes here, especially when the sun is shining and the rooftop terrace is open.

Nice hideaway as everything else around Leicester Sq was very busy & we couldn’t find seats. Music wasn’t great. The person behind the bar wasn’t very enthusiastic. It was ok, glad we got a seat in the pub, but it wouldn’t be my favourite sorry. Maybe on a different day - different music/crowd etc. ladies toilets upstairs. Older child friendly on weekends. We didn’t eat.

Love the private room at no extra cost. Food portions are on the smaller side but food is nice. Great selection of wine. Service was great!

Me and my family booked a table here before we went to the theatre. The staff were lovely and very attentive. I had the trio of pie's and they were lovely, the cheddar cheese, potato and leek pie was my favourite and I loved the gravy. The prawn cocktail was pretty standard but the tomato and basil soup was lovely and so was the sourdough crumpet rarebit. Me and my mother in law enjoyed the pinot grigio and me and my daughter had a perfect pornstar martini.

The fish and chips (17.5) were delicious. As for the beer, the Green King IPA was a lighter type, and the Abbot had a stronger malt flavor. Many people in the bar ordered AMSTEL BIER, but we didn't order any. A comfortable shop, recommended to everyone.

Came here for dessert in the afternoon. You can't pre book a table so had to wait but fortunately as it was a weekday, the wait was only around 10-15mins. We ordered the carrot cake- which is one chunky slice, a pot of tea and a make your own ice cream sundae and the bill came to about £27 with service. The quality of the ice cream was amazing- really smooth.
