Great atmosphere great beers on tap.

The Beers are great but don't order the Bitterballen. I lived in the Netherlands and go there regularly and these are the worst I've ever had.

We came looking for fish and fries. We had lunch, so the atmosphere was relaxed. The food was great. The portion is for a big eater, and we must have guessed because when we ordered it, he asked if it was one portion or two. When I saw the fish arrive, I thought it was a pig's foot (ha ha), well, because of the shape. A small glass of Heineken on tap costs 3.25. Cheaper than any souvenir from a convenience store. Recommended!! The bartender was super serious, but friendly. We left more than happy to have found him.

They got some Dutch people here which is nice.

A fantastic pub. Has plenty of history including the Dutch resistance UK HQ in WW2.

Amazing bar staff leif was very helpful he was so helpful with the extensive beer range and recommended an awesome trappist beer

Signed up to their newsletter to get a free drink. They were out of one ingredient, they didn't seem to want to swap it with anything. The free drink will expire by the time I next get there.

Awful name but we can’t blame the staff for that. Awesome service, they just could have played a little lady GAGA. Leaf and Jack could do more than serve me 😉

We visit here whenever we are in London, such a great selection of beers. Eaten here twice, tasty food. A great place to visit.

Sat 24/08/2024:- Visited for a quick Belgium beer (Zot) with afew others on a rainy packed-to-the-hilt evening in London's West End. The bar was heaving because of masses of huge TV screens showing a football match between Arsenal & Aston Villa and football fans had gathered. I've been to De Hems many times over many years and have never witnessed this before. I'm not a footie fan (rugby's my thing) but neither am I fan of sports bars so will probably give it a miss another time. PS ALL the staff were dead miserable! Update 11/03/2025:- Still styling itself as a sports bar but I went under duress from friends on a late weekday afternoon and we had super snacks with our drinks which restored my faith! I guess it depends on the time of day you pick etc. It was busy but not too busy and was very pleasant. Photos added.

Great beer selection, ridiculously expensive.

I’m been coming here for a very long time and it’s always excellent which is quite the achievement over 20 years. Pricey, but then it is in Chinatown. You get what you pay for.

A real gem tucked into Chinatown. Great selection of Dutch and Belgian beers with the correct accompanying glass. Usually have sports on the TV. Good atmosphere..tried the Bitterballen before and they were nice

I was in here for an hour or so on a Saturday night, there was a singer with his guitar, great atmosphere, would come back.

A brilliant pub with brilliant staff. Love the beer and also its location and atmosphere. Possibly one of my favourite London pubs. Go there enjoy a beer and enjoy yourself.

Probably my favourite pub in Chinatown and Soho. The vibe is amazing and the beer is so good 👍 Love going here and looking forward to many more visits in the future.

Loosing its Dutch identity rapidly and very generic beers on. Nothing special. Noisy and turning more into a sports bar than an authentic Dutch café. Very sad to see this going downhill.

Heineken no sabía muy bien, las Croquetas se quemaron. El personal del bar de arriba fue grosero. Lástima que soy medio holandés, así que para mí es mi deber asegurarme de que vamos aquí cuando estamos en el pub de Londres. Probablemente gastar dinero en otro lugar en el futuro 🫤

La bière est fraîche, un large choix de bières belges très sympas mais…. Un gros bémol sur l’accueil et la bienveillance, nous faisons répéter la serveuse au bar, aucun effort pour parler lentement, pas cool.

A great find in London which serves a superb range of beers. Excellent atmosphere and decent prices. Its a definite goto when we visit London, loads of food spots close by before or after a few strong beers.

A very nice Dutch pub and grill in the heart of Chinatown in London. They have many dutch beers on draft as well as wines and spirits. Also, Dutch food on the menu. With my father being from Holland, I had quite a craving for croquettes and frikandels ever since I tried them. So I ordered the platter. So delicious!!

I have been a De Hems patriot for over a decade now. This pub isn't just any establishment; it offers one of the most exquisite yet affordable beer selections in all of London! Apart from this, the ambience and service is casual, easy and friendly. Thankful to the assistant manager who is responsible in enhancing my beer palette and always welcoming!

Probably the best pub in Soho! Great selection on beers and the atmosphere and service is always great! The Assistant Manager is a great guy and always has time for a chat.

Such a great experience! My husband and I popped over here after a play and had several Belgian beers (they have such a big section!!) and then had Fish & Chips! Super tasty and our server (Nishaan) was so friendly and made sure we were taken care of! We would come back again!

Fantastic spot right next to Chinatown to catch a game and have a great selection of beers available to you - £10+ for a pint of Delirium Tremens unfortunately reminds you you're still in London, but can't fault it outside of that!

Not really a Dutch pub if you can't even turn on the sound of Ajax - Feyenoord (biggest game of the year) in the upstairs area. Just sound like they don't have their stuff together so may be better to find another place for big games.

Im dissapointed with the lack of service we received today. The woman who greeted and served us really didn't care. No hello - just a blunt "can I help". There was no smile or friendliness there and we felt like we were a bother from the momemt we stepped in. She didn't explain that you have to order food at the bar, even though we were sat in a dining area that felt like it should have had table service. She was busy talking with her colleague behind the bar and having a coffee. So after 15 minutes I went up to her to ask if we could order food. I guess I interrupted her so got a blunt "yeah, what do you want". She then continued chatting with her colleague whilst placing my order and taking payment. I also found it strange I had to pay upfront for our food as again, we were seating upstairs in the restaurant area. Next up - the food was shocking. We waited 35 minutes (!!!) without anyone coming to explain why the wait was long. My partner received a plate of burnt bitterballen (see photo). If a Chef cant deep-fry basi food, they shouldnt be working in a kitchen. My "stoofvlees" had about 5 small pieces of meat with a mountain of chips and salads (nice flavours there). No-one came to check if we were happy with the food, and no-one asked when they cleared plates. So we didn't raise the complaints - also, what's the point as we'd already paid anyway and I doubt the waiting staff were going to care. We just wanted to leave as soon as possible. Atmosphere and decorations are nice. But, no soap in toilets and it was freezing cold in the dining area so I put my coat back on. They charged £18 for 2 pints of Dutch/Belgian beer served in greasy glasses with no foamy head to be found anywhere. They also served my Leffe in a regular pint glass when it should be served in a Leffe glass. As a Dutch person who travelled into London to visit this place, I won't be recommending it to anyone. For both service and quality of food to be so lacking is inexcusable for any food establishment - especially if they also charge premium prices.

We booked out the upstairs for a private event - the staff were super helpful, got us sorted with screens and were friendly throughout. Nothing major to improve on. If the food was served up in smaller portions it might be easier to carry and move around the room but I appreciate that can create a lot more work for the team. If they ever considered adding pizza to the menu, I think it would be really popular for large bookings/events. I would visit again with friends or to book an event.

Any place the has La Chouffe on tap is going to be alright. Belgians make the best beers and De Hems has many of the good ones available.

Fantastic selection for Belgian beers - 15+ on tap, probably 100+ bottles. Not 5* as prices got higher recently and service is just ok. Still a favorite in london for Belgian beers! Not too busy even on a weekend.

Didn't have time for food, but what a lovely bar to have a couple of drinks in!! Definitely coming back- made me feel like I was in Belgium again!! Wonderful service on the first floor bar

Great range of beers and some great Dutch food - the kitchen isn’t open super late though and drinks are a little pricey! I’d still choose it over some of the less interesting pubs nearby

This place is an iconic Belgium bar with friendly staff and great craft beer. They have rotating seasonal selection and were more than accommodating to my wife and I on our honeymoon. I highly recommend stopping in for pregame drinks or to catch local sports.

Good pub with decent Belgium/dutch beer selection.

Visited on a hectic Saturday evening in the run up to Xmas and had a great time. There were 8 of us so we booked a table which was a good decision. The beer list was great and featured some terrific festive 'specials'. Food-wise, the sharing platter is highly recommended.

We dropped in to this pub, as soon as we got to the bar we was served by Wayne very polite the pub was busy and the atmosphere was amazing his knowledge of the beers in bottles and on tap he had some very good customer service was awsome to be there will definitely drop in there again

Lovely pub with a great selection of British and continental beers. The staff are always very friendly.

The stoofvlees only had 1 tiny piece of onion that was so hard it was not edible and it only had 3 tiny slices of beef…. This place does not feel Dutch at all! To make things worse the table had mould!!

The bar promised so much but the service and quality was poor to say the least. We asked for food but couldn't have anything with bread as it hadn't defrosted yet, at 5pm in the evening!!! We had to resort to nachos, which were close to being edible. Go to Lowlanders if yiu want quality Belgium beers, the difference in service and quality was night and day.

Booked for 12 of us for a Wednesday at 7.30. BRILLIANT atmosphere. The dri k selection. Was amazing. Great selection of pub grub with a Belgian slant. So reasonable for London. The staff were wonderful as always.

We hired the upstairs bar for a private party. The De Hems team made everything easy from the point of booking, setting up and ensuring all ran smoothly on the evening. It's a great space and the food, drinks and staff all excellent. Highly recommend if you're looking for a venue in the west end.

Had a private party . Enjoyed having the private space . Food was good. Staff friendly . Only fault was no loo roll in the toilets . Otherwise had a pleasant evening

No Dutch atmosphere at all and poor service. They also have no knowledge of the beers they have in their range and Dutch music is not welcome here
