Embankment Cafe in City of London, Westminster

I recently visited this restaurant while traveling from Spain, and I had a great experience.Rakib, was fantastic—he explained everything clearly and was incredibly friendly throughout. The food was delicious, and the environment was pleasant and welcoming. I’ll definitely come back again!

Didn’t eat here BUT the staff of this establishment were so accommodating & understanding when my friend & I came in here after being followed & harassed by a man walking through the Victoria Embankment Gardens. We didn’t purchase anything but they were still so hospitable & kind; it really says a lot about the culture of the establishment. They told him to leave & monitored the area until they had confirmed he was gone. We didn’t have time to stay & eat this time, but if I find myself back in London again, I will go out of my way to go back. If you have the chance, give them your business!

This is a must-visit place by the riverside, surrounded by nature. The staff were friendly, and the service was excellent. It’s a place I’ll definitely come to more often now.

Nice to sit outside but a bit expensive

Staff showed little to no customer service skills Security appeared to arbitrarily decide who was allowed in. After sitting at a table for just 10 minutes without even being approached to order - we were asked to leave by an aggressive waiter. If the venue is overwhelmed with reservations and “private parties,” perhaps it’s worth reconsidering how many you take.

I went and was very satisfied, I received very good service with quality, fast, hygienic and affordable prices and many varieties.

While out for a lovely stroll through Victoria Embankment Gardens, we happened to stumble across this charming little bar. It was one of those perfect days, with sunshine, blue skies, and that rare kind of London weather you just have to make the most of. So of course, we grabbed a table outside and treated ourselves to a bottle of wine. Would’ve felt wrong not to, really. The setting is absolutely lovely. There’s plenty of space both inside and out, and being right in the gardens gives it such a calm, relaxing vibe. It feels like a proper escape from the usual busy bars and pubs in the city centre. A bit of a hidden gem, but still easy to find. They do serve food as well. Honestly, it’s nothing groundbreaking, but it’s decent enough if you're a bit peckish. The real magic here is in the atmosphere. We’ve completely fallen for the place, and it’s quickly become one of our favourite spots to enjoy a drink outdoors when the weather’s playing nice. The staff were lovely too. Really friendly, switched on, and happy to help without being over the top. All in all, it was a relaxed, feel-good kind of visit, and we’re already looking forward to the next sunny afternoon there.

We have just returned from a trip to London where we discovered this absolute gem of a bistro in the beautiful Victoria embankment gardens. All of the staff were welcoming, professional and friendly. (special thanks to Rakib and Hassan who made my elderly friend feel very special) The service we received was second to none, the cocktails were excellent and very reasonably priced. The coffee was perfect. We enjoyed it so much that we changed our plans for the last day of our trip so that we could return to this lovely ‘oasis’ in the heart of London.

Good stop for a sunny warm day, food not bad, it seemed more of a watering hole to us with most visitors just supping om drinks didn't see much by way of food on tables, but maybe it was just one of those days yuh know!

Super sweet staff. Very friendly and helpful. Helped me think about suitable meals for my allergies. We had dinner here in the morning when we arrived for a day in London. Pleasant introduction. And concluded with the evening meal when we had to gather at the bus again. We couldn't have wished for a better restaurant. Delicious food and lots of choice. Fast service and good value for money. Big tip deserved!

Great location and really nice brunch and coffee. Not busy at all on a weekday morning after 10am. Lovely little park with spring flowers and an interesting view of the Thames.

Waited 30 mimutes for tea and then they bought wrong type, had to chase up other drink order and to get correct tea. Waited nearly an hour for our sandwiches, the salmon and cream cheese was lovely but the roast veg sandwich had hardly any filling. It was ridiculously expensive, no service and other guests got fed up waiting and left. I was told our tea would be free due to mix up but bill was £46 for 3 sandwiches, and a coke ( and, i guess, 2 teas!)Really disappointing, will not return.

My boyfriend and I spent NYE here so we could watch the firework show from here. For the view 10/10 recommend!!! We had a really nice view of the London Eye and did not have to wait outside for hours which was great 👌🏽 However the pre-set food menu was ridiculously overpriced: £70 p.p. for a three course meal (about €85) The food was really disappointing.. service was not great but we can totally understand on a busy hectic evening like this! Definitely do recommend for the peace and quiet it brings for not having to wait on the street for hours. That sort of compensates for the disappointing menu/food.

I came here with four Friends me and one off my friends had fish and chips My other friends had the snitchel The fish and chips was good The snitchel was not There were a good few menu portions The staff we're fine they took 15 minuts to bring the FOOD the table water didn't come until i got up and asked them to bring it

To top it all off, the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. I can’t wait to come back for another meal!

I discovered this restaurant by chance and I was not disappointed. impeccable and fast service, the super nice waitress and special mention for HASAN which is a real ray of sunshine 🤩 I will come back it was delicious I took the traditional fish and chips for my daughter it was too good and fresh and the fries delicious. the prices are right for London I recommend in addition the restaurant is beautiful with a very nice terrace in the heart of the greenery

Called in on Sunday morning after a night out. Can’t fault the place. Even opened a little earlier to accommodate us.

Not been to the cafe for a couple of years so was amazed to see the refurb. The owners have done an amazing job. The restaurant area is well seated, great atmosphere and the food is just as good as it always was. My wife and I love to visit for breakfast (bunch). The staff were very friendly. I look forward to our next London visit and another awesome breakfast (brunch).

Customer service worst ever!!! Do not recomend! Shocking experience!!! I sat in today pretty much hungry, ordered a tagliatelle with chiken and mushroom in creamy sauce. I was waiting excited for the food, and the waiter did bring me a totally different pasta with tomato. I can't eat tomato. He said i ordered this one for sure, I did explained him i know what I ordered, that has no tomato in for sure. He did show me his smartphone with the order placed, and i had to say i did not put that order in your system, i know what i ordered. He hesitated, but asked me if I want tagliatelle? I said yes, as I wanted it in first place. So I waited but the food did not came, instead another person who later told me he is the manager, and strait away asked me to leave. I asked him completely surprised why? And he said because you ordered a food and sending back, so they need to trow away. (Beleive me if it was not with tomato, I would eat, as I don't like food to be wasted. Who's waiting for the food arrive and send it back for fun? ) I told him I ordered tagliatelle, and it's not my fault that the waiter did not get it right. I still want to eat, and not this is the way you should treat customer. He did call the waiter and ask him if I order tagliatelle, and off course he said no I ordered penne.  He said now the food needs to trow away. I said it still not my fault and it's very bad customer services to ask me leave instead of take the order right, as I still willing to pay for my food if its the right one. Than he asked me if I want to order the tagliatelle.  That time I was so shocked, even my hand were shaking, and I lost my mood to eat anything.I was so nervous, i've been never told to leave in any restaurant. ( I did not behaved wrong, or given attitude.)I said I will take your first advice and leave instead. While I was packing my bag together, he made a photo of me. I asked him to delete the photo, and he denied it while he holding his phone in hand towards me, so I guess he made a video. I don't understand for what, to put me on banned list? Not necessarily. I won't go back ever, and suggest to everyone to avoid this place where the liar waiter has bigger value than a customer. I left the place with a promiss of review, so here I am, sharing my horrible experience. Unfortunately on the food I can not comment, but on the photos from previous review that tagliatelle looks nice. As I see the management only reply for the good commenst, so I don't expect any, but if the gentleman who said he is the manager and he really is, than there are major problems. If not, I suggest to train staff more how to do good customer service.

It was a great evening at this fantastic place. Their coffee tastes so nice thanks to the cute bartender Bishnu. All their staff were so nice and kind . Very good service I will defenately visit here again because of the environment. Last but not the least server Hasan was a good man and very good story teller for his good service I had to post this big review.

Viktorija makes the best cocktails.

This used to be a straight down the line cafe. It now seems to have turned into a hybrid cafe/cocktail bar... but it still serves a very welcome cup of tea on a long walk around embankment!

Very tasty salmon. We had a wonderful time with a beautiful view on the garden.

I had a Sirloin steak and Salmon fillet, it was amazing. They have excellent service, Hasan served us. He is a fantastic man. Good place for friends and family day out.

This is a hidden gem! Stylish indoor restaurant and a very pleasant outdoor terrace. Great food, service and the friendliest staff who checked several times from arrival to leaving that we were happy with our meals, required anything else or just to be friendly. Thank you will definitely visit again.

It’s been recently refurbished to a very high standard the food is good tho London prices let down by excessive loud music which is a real pity

This place is cute and relaxing. I had a drink and salad and both tasted well. Service was great as well. Victoria was attentive, friendly, and nice. Would highly recommend stopping here.

Everything was of top standard, nothing too much trouble, the decor throughout was lovely, clean and well maintained. We had an amazing dinner at and the staff were fantastic, warm and welcoming. Especially one of the bartenders Viktorija, her delicious cocktails really kept us going! The food was impeccable, delicious and gorgeously presented. The music was fun and playful and the atmosphere was convivial and inviting. We will certainly be back to celebrate with them again!

I recently visited Embankment Bistro Café with my boyfriend, and we had a wonderful experience. The girl who served us, Viktoria, was incredibly friendly and attentive to our table throughout the meal. She made sure we had everything we needed and made us feel really welcome. Her warm service definitely added to the overall experience, and we’ll definitely be coming back!

First time in London. All of the bars and restaurants I’ve been to have been subpar service. 0 personality or hospitality from workers. Victoria however, is the most amazing person I’ve met so far. She made our experience here fun and memorable. This is the one spot I’ve actually had a great time being at. That’s all because of Victoria and her sparkling personality. Thanks for being awesome! We’ll be back every single time.

Overpriced food and extra charge for service which is bad af/non-present. Do not visit!!

I so wanted to like this place. It’s in a beautiful park in central London. I had visions of a German beer Garden style easy-going quick service Café. It’s not that the staff aren’t helpful and lovely it’s just that they are too overbearing. I don’t need thousands of explanations and checking if I’m alright when I’m just having a drink or a quick bite to eat. There was real confusion with the drinks, and what the difference is between low alcohol IPA and lager (which really confused them for some reason). The range of drinks is very average and pretty pricey. I also asked for a cup of tea but apparently nobody is allowed to have hot drinks after 4 o’clock because, well who knows? The worst offender was the food. Unfortunately, it’s in central London where they don’t have to try so the salad and the burger my friends ordered were massively average and very expensive for what they were. What really upsets me about restaurants and places that serve average food is that it costs no more to cook average food than it does make great food. The ingredients are just the same. We also ordered some chocolate cake. When it arrived, it was clearly a factory made cake, but even even worse, it was completely stale and inedible. This place should be absolutely packed out every sunny evening. Instead, it’s just a very average place to have a drink and eat. I would recommend it if you want a pint or a quick drink (unless you want tea or coffee after 4pm!) in the evening but for anything else, go elsewhere.

Lovely! Perfect spot for a good weather. They serve aperol or pimms pitcher which is amazing for groups.

It’s nice but the burgers are very simple (don’t come for burgers, it’s not worth it). The fries are good 🇧🇪. The breads with toppings are good and fresh (for that, it’s worth it!)

More atmosphere on mars. They apparently can’t afford a kettle after 4pm for a cup of tea.
