The location was spot on, the room was nice, the cleaning was excellent and the service from everyone was brilliant. Lovely little bar to the right of the entrance too (expensive but nice for a night cap and a bite to eat). The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because of the breakfast. Its hard when mass catering but the cooked food wasn't hot and unusally neither was the tea! I even fetched supposedly boiling water to make a fresh pot but it wasn't hot enough either. The sausage was too spicy and the bacon and eggs were under cooked. I would definitely go again (just wouldn't have breakfast)

Small rooms. Saving Grace was the location. Blocked shower, (standing in dirty water in the shower is not what we expected) so called reception, they offered for maintenance to attend immediately, 30 mins later we were still waiting so we rang again to be told they would request maintenance, we asked for a duty manager, and to move rooms but was told NO! . 15 mins later we were still waiting so I went to reception, where I spoke with Lara who offered another room. £240 for a blocked shower and initially poor service. We also had to queue twice to check in, there was only 2 members of staff, it was the same for breakfast too, I've never had to queue for breakfast it's madness. They clearly do not have enough staff at this hotel. Breakfast was average at best. I could have ground the coffee beans by the time their machine delivered 1 mug of coffee. We Would not recommend this hotel unfortunately, we had high hopes due to the reviews and location and price. Such a shame.

I would like to point out that this review is not made to damage a business (although I certainly believe they will not fail because of this review of mine) Location: super mega hyper excellent Room: clean (well! God forbid it wasn't!), mine doesn't have a door between the part where you sleep and the part where you defecate. It doesn't seem like a good idea to me. Too much, too much and really too noisy: both between rooms (I discovered life, death and miracles of my neighbors) and towards the outside: practically having or not having a window makes no difference: if you close your eyes you seem to be on the steps to get on the plane: there is always this noise from the turbine of a nuclear reactor that gets into your head and stays with you until you get home. Breakfast: here in my opinion they deserve -5 stars: I suppose there has been a recent renovation and on the upper floors they must have thought that it would have been much COOOOOOL to halve the seats and make the guests stand waiting for 20/40 minutes at 8 in the morning: type of muscle awakening. This is absurd: so you have to queue to sit down and then since the buffet is not free, you have to queue again because there is one person (ONE) serving 6000 people. And then you have to queue again to get a coffee from a machine 🤨 Oh well, you'll say, did you at least have the breakfast of your life? Classic breakfast: eggs bacon sausage etc. What's missing? Ah ok, the price Price: let's say they don't give it to you as a gift and based on my brief experience as a traveler, I won't go back (unless they give it to me as a gift, but I have to think about it) and I won't recommend it (unless I want to do something wrong) However, if anyone is reading this review to understand whether or not this is the perfect accommodation, know that my opinion doesn't matter a damn (like everyone else's) and that I'm a huge pain in the ass. (Probably the hardest person to please) So come, and maybe you like it. Enjoy!

Great stay with a few minor hiccups. We had a great stay at The Strand Palace and would definitely return! We upgraded our room upon arrival from a double to a king for £25 per night, which was worth it. The bed was comfy and spacious with plenty of plug sockets either side, good storage, a safe, an ironing board, and a mini fridge that kept everything perfectly cold. The room itself isn't as big as other hotels in comparison, but it's still good quality. The bathroom was nice, towels were soft and absorbent, and while there were some watermarks on the shower doors, it wasn’t an issue for us. One small letdown was being told our upgrade included a coffee machine, but there wasn’t one that we could find in the room. It didn’t bother us since we don’t drink coffee, but I can imagine it would be frustrating for those who do. Service throughout our stay was excellent - friendly staff, quick check-in and check-out (with email options to do both in advance), and great room service with filling meals, however the prices for drinks were extortionate. The WiFi was fast and easy to access, and the complimentary water bottles with refill stations near the lifts were a great touch. Speaking of lifts, they could get quite busy at peak times, but that’s expected in a large hotel. Breakfast was a bit of a mixed experience. When we checked in, we were told it was free because we upgraded our room, but when we arrived the next morning, we were informed it wasn’t, so we paid £40 for the two of us. The food itself was good, but the plates were tucked away in a corner, making them hard to find. Bowls for the fruit would have been nice - if they were there, they were just as hidden! The hotel itself was easy to find, very clean, and well-signposted. We loved the themed floors, each representing a different decade, and the interactive boards on each level were really helpful for navigation. The location was great with bus stops just down the road, a transport museum nearby, theatres and a couple of stations within a 10-minute walk. A nice eco-friendly touch was the £7 voucher for skipping room cleaning, though we didn’t use it in the end. Overall, a very enjoyable stay. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms, and great facilities. We’ll hopefully be back at some point.

This hotel is in a great location on the strand, with easy access to Leicester Square, Covent garden, Trafalgar Square, Big Ben and Westminster, in fact many many famous landmarks in Central London. The hotel itself is very nice , with a lovely reception area, restaurant and bar. There is also Joe Allen's bar and American diner within the hotel. The doorman was also a nice touch, always welcoming when you return to the hotel. I particularly liked the strand palace app, which I was able to make many requests rather than have to go down to reception or call reception. The speed of response to any request was rapid and welcomed. All in all, we had a great stay over two days two nights at the strand palace hotel and plan to return in the near future.

The room was very nice and spacious, but the bathroom was very small. The room is big enough, so whoever planned the rooms could have given the bathroom a bit more space. Lovely shower with lots of water pressure but not one single hook to hang your towels, which is completely mind-boggling. The hotel is very big and I can imagine how busy it must get in summer (I stayed in winter and it was already busy) yet it only has 3 lifts which meant long queues to get up and down, made even worse at breakfast time. At breakfast, despite there being about 5 staff in the hot food area, not one noticed that there were no plates or bowls at the fruit, yoghurt, and cold meats station. Long queues for the coffee machines. The hotel is very well located. It offers a water refill station on each floor which is a nice touch.

Holiday is perfectly located for easy reach of everything you need in London The following room points DID NOT spoil our visit, however if we were staying any longer than a couple of nights then I think it would have but these are points to be considered when choosing this hotel: 1 - Soundproofing is non existing we could hear doors closing in other rooms to people talking and moving around in the rooms next door and above us. 2 - Shower unfortunately if you are any taller than 6ft then you will need to crouch down in the shower in order to get in 3 - No dressing table or plug sockets near a mirror in the bedroom 4 - Air con myself and my hubby like to have a room at a very low temperature in order to be able to sleep, however the air con doesn't go below 19 degrees, asked for it to be unset and was advise this was not possible and provided with a desk top fan!

I stayed here with my children in the family room because it was in easy walking distance of the Lyceum and we were visiting to see The Lion King. The room had a sofa bed as the second bed, so would be a good sized room if you weren’t using that, with the sofa bed out it was smallish but big enough for a few nights without a problem. Both beds were comfortable, and the room was quiet (so nice after the business outside) and very clean. Nice bathroom with a great shower. There were so many things included in the room- chocolates, crackers, wine, soft drinks, and water in a cute red recycled plastic “London” bottle, it felt like such a treat! They seemed to be making efforts in sustainability- we noticed a water refill station, reusable water bottle, and refillable toiletries. Breakfast was fresh and tasty and had a wide selection of choices. We chose room service for dinner which came from the in house restaurant. Portions were huge and the food was really lovely, with plenty of choices suitable for children. Location is great- it’s a quick walk from Convent Garden, the Embankment and Westminster. Staff were friendly and helpful, they looked after our bags for us both before checked in and after we checked out so we could go shopping without carrying everything. My room smelled terrible, whilst they did move me, I never should have been put in there in the first place. Drinks in the bar are ridiculously overpriced even for London.

Just completed my 4th stay in the last 6 weeks. Hotel is great and in super location. What annoys me is Haxell bar and resturant. You are asked to wait to be seated but often have to wait a few minutes to be attended too, but there are a number of gentlemen walking around in suits, I am assume are managers talking whilst customers are waiting to be served, but they are always quick to put service charge on the bill. This not just a one off event this was a constant theme during my stays and when I visit as a non resident.

I got this hotel at the last minute due to a cancelled flight. Everything was OK except the lifts. It was impossible to get one on the 3rd floor that wasn't already full. I had to walk downstairs with two bad knees. Book the hotel if you don't mind the exercise but don't book it if you need the lifts.

Great location to explore Rooms are a little dated an the bathroom design was poor in our superior room with very little towel hanging space when we were trying to go green

We had a great overnight stay. The hotel is in a super location, the staff were brilliant, the room was clean and smart. Breakfast was super and all this for a very reasonable price. It's the first time we've stayed here and it definitely won't be the last. Really good value for money 👍👍

Last night, my friends and I had the pleasure of visiting this charming wine bar, and what an unexpectedly fantastic evening it turned out to be! Originally, we had hoped to book a wine tasting, but since we made the reservation a little late, we had to settled for wine flights instead. Disappointed at first, we voiced our feelings to the lovely gentleman, Justin, who was working behind the bar. He told us, he is not a sommelier, but he offered to run a mini, ad hoc wine tasting for us. And let me tell you—what a stroke of luck that was. Justin was absolutely amazing! He suggested a delightful range of wines that were not only interesting but fun. His knowledge was impressive, yet he carried it with such ease and warmth that it never felt pretentious. Based on our feedback, he was able to tailor the selection to our preferences, and he nailed it—each wine was a perfect match for our group’s varied tastes. So much so, that I ended up buying two bottles to take home. What stood out the most was Justin’s ability to connect with the entire group. The atmosphere was lively and engaging, which is becoming rare these days when most places opt for the impersonal QR code ordering system. Justin’s approach felt like a breath of fresh air—genuine interaction and a personal touch that made the evening even more memorable. To complement the wine, we ordered cheese and charcuterie platters, as well as some sausages, and everything arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious. The food paired beautifully with the wines, making for a well-rounded experience. Honestly, this was probably the best wine tasting I’ve been to in a long time, and the fact that it was all spontaneously put together by Justin made it even more impressive. My friends and I haven’t stopped talking about how great the evening was, and we’re already syncing our calendars to do it all over again. Highly recommend this gem of a spot!
