Stayed here from 11th-18th May 2025 Avoid staying in this hotel as my wife's Ring got stolen from the hotel room and our fault was that we left our stuff unattended and unlocked. Just thought in 20mins will come back from breakfast and lock the stuff before leaving which we were doing everyday but skipped that day. Had to visit the police station to file a complaint as Hotel had done their investigation (which they didn't share anything with us but just wanted to believe that the cleaner girl didn't take the ring as they have done checking and closed the investigation). Who will compensate for anything? Not in the Hotel Policy. In the end it is customers fault. We thought thefts are common outside hotel on the streets. Didn't know that stuff is not safe in the hotel also. In Bali our phone got stolen and hotel staff went with us to police station but Here they said you can go yourself to the police station and we will cooperate. Because obviously they cannot endorse as it is their own staff and they are very confident. Customer must be making stories. It became a total loss to us. So we kept the chocolates given by them in their locker so that those also don't get stolen and didnt take their complimentary breakfast for next 2 days. Rooms - very small rooms and bathroom are even smaller. Please choose your room wisely and check the floor area because otherwise you will be in for a surprise. Bathing area picture i have uploaded. Bigger size rooms are expensive but like every other couple we also thought that we have to roam outside who wants to be in the hotel but believe you me that you spend atleast 7-8 hours in hotel which is 33% of your day and when you come back to such a room the mood spoils. Cleanliness - very dirty. They don't change sheets unless you specifically tell them to. Secondly when we were searching for the stolen ring I took our 5-6 things from below the bed which were never cleaned and looked as if they were there from a long time. I handed them over to the duty manager as he was in our room for checking. Obvi cleaning staff is busy with taking other peoples stuff. Location - i will not give negative on this. Location is good but you can find other hotels in the vicinity as well. Overall- Please find another hotel

Disappointing stay — not worth the 4 stars We had to wait nearly an hour just to check in, despite arriving after the official check-in time. The hotel was clearly overwhelmed, with no sense of urgency or service. Even though the room was booked through our company (likely via Egencia), we were still asked to pay ourselves — no flexibility or support from staff. The hotel feels outdated, and the rooms are shockingly small. Nothing about the experience matched what you’d expect from a 4-star hotel. Very unsatisfactory overall. Would not recommend.

We stayed at the strand palace on our recent trip to London, firstly I was impressed with the location, very central to all the sites, hotel was clean, rooms well kept, bed comfortable, facilities were excellent fantastic shower and staff were very kind and helpful even providing us with recommendations for places to eat out, taxis etc, all in all I can only rate lStrand Palace as top class and will definitely be staying again.

I stayed in a superior king size room 2 nights for my wife and I 10 year anniversary. Great location, breakfast is great, not a great check in process as I feel staff really lacked customer service, did not make me feel immediately welcomed at the hotel. Also, the room was absolutely filthy. Not much of a complaints process with the hotel itself, they have a very blase approach and just say they will provide feedback to housekeeping management, From looking at reviews, cleanliness in this hotel seems to be an ongoing issue, if you suffer with low health such as immune support etc I would reconsider staying here. Not what I was expecting for a hotel previously held at such a high regard.

Wonderful experience. At first I wasn’t expecting much as I was on a budget, but when I entered the room I was in shock everything was clean and smelled amazing. The staff were friendly and helped me carry my bags upstairs. I wasn’t expecting as much kindness and welcoming from anyone, but the service made me feel so safe and included. Would 100% recommend the location was perfect a lot of activities to do especially because is right in the centre. Overall I love it and would be coming back when I next visit London

The algorithm of the lifts should be changed so everyone in the first 4 floors don’t need to take the stairs every morning, noon, and evening to get to the lobby instead of waiting 15 minutes for a lift to show up. On Wednesday evening, when we wanted some drinks in Haxells, we were rudely and intently pressed by a member of staff to order “because they were closing”. It was 10pm at the latest and Haxells is open ‘till 11:30pm. She did not ask but tell us to order our drinks multiple times in less than 5 minutes of sitting down. We wished we would have gone back to Be At One or stayed at the bar of the Empress Museum. The reimagined drinks menu in the Gin Palace is horribly confusing and over complicated. Not a single drink on that menu wasn’t ruined by a “special liqueur” or ingredient. The fact there used to be a dedicated bartender/mixologist was also a very strong advantage. The cocktails used to be £7, coinciding with the go-green vouchers, but are now £15. This just gives me more reason to go to Be At One around the corner and order better quality cocktails for less there. There is a noticeable decrease in staff over the past couple of years. Something I did miss in the hotel room bathroom was a toilet brush. I’m more than capable of cleaning residue myself instead of leaving such things for the unfortunate housekeeping who are already stretched. Concerning the breakfast buffet, specifically the English breakfast, the member of the kitchen who would serve us either did not seem to understand English or would just blatantly ignore our request for a specific number of food items. We’re talking about asking for 2 eggs or sausages or to only receive some bacon, not to have the entire tray. He was also very judgemental to anyone who asked for more than 1 of a certain food item, to the point of telling guests to come back later for more. This being my third stay of a week, it is safe to say I will not be coming back to the Strand Palace Hotel anymore.

The location was spot on, the room was nice, the cleaning was excellent and the service from everyone was brilliant. Lovely little bar to the right of the entrance too (expensive but nice for a night cap and a bite to eat). The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because of the breakfast. Its hard when mass catering but the cooked food wasn't hot and unusally neither was the tea! I even fetched supposedly boiling water to make a fresh pot but it wasn't hot enough either. The sausage was too spicy and the bacon and eggs were under cooked. I would definitely go again (just wouldn't have breakfast)

I would like to point out that this review is not made to damage a business (although I certainly believe they will not fail because of this review of mine) Location: super mega hyper excellent Room: clean (well! God forbid it wasn't!), mine doesn't have a door between the part where you sleep and the part where you defecate. It doesn't seem like a good idea to me. Too much, too much and really too noisy: both between rooms (I discovered life, death and miracles of my neighbors) and towards the outside: practically having or not having a window makes no difference: if you close your eyes you seem to be on the steps to get on the plane: there is always this noise from the turbine of a nuclear reactor that gets into your head and stays with you until you get home. Breakfast: here in my opinion they deserve -5 stars: I suppose there has been a recent renovation and on the upper floors they must have thought that it would have been much COOOOOOL to halve the seats and make the guests stand waiting for 20/40 minutes at 8 in the morning: type of muscle awakening. This is absurd: so you have to queue to sit down and then since the buffet is not free, you have to queue again because there is one person (ONE) serving 6000 people. And then you have to queue again to get a coffee from a machine 🤨 Oh well, you'll say, did you at least have the breakfast of your life? Classic breakfast: eggs bacon sausage etc. What's missing? Ah ok, the price Price: let's say they don't give it to you as a gift and based on my brief experience as a traveler, I won't go back (unless they give it to me as a gift, but I have to think about it) and I won't recommend it (unless I want to do something wrong) However, if anyone is reading this review to understand whether or not this is the perfect accommodation, know that my opinion doesn't matter a damn (like everyone else's) and that I'm a huge pain in the ass. (Probably the hardest person to please) So come, and maybe you like it. Enjoy!

Small rooms. Saving Grace was the location. Blocked shower, (standing in dirty water in the shower is not what we expected) so called reception, they offered for maintenance to attend immediately, 30 mins later we were still waiting so we rang again to be told they would request maintenance, we asked for a duty manager, and to move rooms but was told NO! . 15 mins later we were still waiting so I went to reception, where I spoke with Lara who offered another room. £240 for a blocked shower and initially poor service. We also had to queue twice to check in, there was only 2 members of staff, it was the same for breakfast too, I've never had to queue for breakfast it's madness. They clearly do not have enough staff at this hotel. Breakfast was average at best. I could have ground the coffee beans by the time their machine delivered 1 mug of coffee. We Would not recommend this hotel unfortunately, we had high hopes due to the reviews and location and price. Such a shame.

Great stay with a few minor hiccups. We had a great stay at The Strand Palace and would definitely return! We upgraded our room upon arrival from a double to a king for £25 per night, which was worth it. The bed was comfy and spacious with plenty of plug sockets either side, good storage, a safe, an ironing board, and a mini fridge that kept everything perfectly cold. The room itself isn't as big as other hotels in comparison, but it's still good quality. The bathroom was nice, towels were soft and absorbent, and while there were some watermarks on the shower doors, it wasn’t an issue for us. One small letdown was being told our upgrade included a coffee machine, but there wasn’t one that we could find in the room. It didn’t bother us since we don’t drink coffee, but I can imagine it would be frustrating for those who do. Service throughout our stay was excellent - friendly staff, quick check-in and check-out (with email options to do both in advance), and great room service with filling meals, however the prices for drinks were extortionate. The WiFi was fast and easy to access, and the complimentary water bottles with refill stations near the lifts were a great touch. Speaking of lifts, they could get quite busy at peak times, but that’s expected in a large hotel. Breakfast was a bit of a mixed experience. When we checked in, we were told it was free because we upgraded our room, but when we arrived the next morning, we were informed it wasn’t, so we paid £40 for the two of us. The food itself was good, but the plates were tucked away in a corner, making them hard to find. Bowls for the fruit would have been nice - if they were there, they were just as hidden! The hotel itself was easy to find, very clean, and well-signposted. We loved the themed floors, each representing a different decade, and the interactive boards on each level were really helpful for navigation. The location was great with bus stops just down the road, a transport museum nearby, theatres and a couple of stations within a 10-minute walk. A nice eco-friendly touch was the £7 voucher for skipping room cleaning, though we didn’t use it in the end. Overall, a very enjoyable stay. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms, and great facilities. We’ll hopefully be back at some point.

The doorman was also a nice touch, always welcoming when you return to the hotel. The room was very nice and spacious, but the bathroom was very small. The room is big enough, so whoever planned the rooms could have given the bathroom a bit more space. Lovely shower with lots of water pressure but not one single hook to hang your towels, which is completely mind-boggling. The hotel is very big and I can imagine how busy it must get in summer (I stayed in winter and it was already busy) yet it only has 3 lifts which meant long queues to get up and down, made even worse at breakfast time. At breakfast, despite there being about 5 staff in the hot food area, not one noticed that there were no plates or bowls at the fruit, yoghurt, and cold meats station. Long queues for the coffee machines. The hotel is very well located. It offers a water refill station on each floor which is a nice touch.

I had to wait 20 minutes to be seated for breakfast - unbelievable.

Disappointed with non view. Not the best, when booking the most expensive room for one night.

Great location for a weekend visit. Plenty of restaurants and theatres in the area. Rooms clean and comfortable but a little on the small side.

The hotel has a perfect location! It is very close to all the important things in the city. Customer service is also very good. We spoke Spanish and an Italian guy Luigi came and took care of us perfectly. The room was great, the cleanliness and the details. The only thing I didn't like was the breakfast juice. It was of poor quality. Of pot and taste of hospital. I think that in a hotel of this category the juice should be a little higher quality. The perfect variety and assortment. The treatment of the waiters too.

Great location, stylish hotel with an art deco theme design. Good breakfast, comfy rooms and handy for theatres and Covent Garden.

I recently visited this restaurant while traveling from Spain, and I had a great experience.Rakib, was fantastic—he explained everything clearly and was incredibly friendly throughout. The food was delicious, and the environment was pleasant and welcoming. I’ll definitely come back again!

Six of us went to Champagne Charlies this evening. We were extremely fortunate to be looked after by Mattea. He is a real credit to Champagne Charlies and was exceptional in the manner in which he represented the restaurant and dealt with our requirements. My only request is that fish and chips are added to the menu.

Henry’s closed about a month ago as the tenants, Stonegate pub co, decided to let it go due to a rent hike by the owners. I’ve submitted this to Google but they haven’t amended this to closed yet - so I’m writing this review to try save people from getting there expecting it to be open as I witnessed recently. There is a planning application on the front door for its next usage - see photo.

It's a shame general politeness and service is lacking. One waiter was plain rude - asked if I could order he gave me a stern look, said yes under his breath buut walked off. Waitress was nicer however when we pointed out she got our order wrong she didn't agree then ended up being annoyed. Gave us a replacement item which clearly a bit old. Waitress taking payment didn't once say please, thank you or anything. Had a face on her. Looked annoyed thayvwe asked to pay bill. Rude and had a face on her. Shame really.
