Henry's Cafe Bar - Piccadilly in City of London, Westminster

Henry’s closed about a month ago as the tenants, Stonegate pub co, decided to let it go due to a rent hike by the owners. I’ve submitted this to Google but they haven’t amended this to closed yet - so I’m writing this review to try save people from getting there expecting it to be open as I witnessed recently. There is a planning application on the front door for its next usage - see photo.

Went there Sat 17 June 2023 at approx 10:30am had a full English breakfast, excellent meal, great value but best of all Absolutely brilliant service. Well done Henry's and thank you.

This is a great meeting point as it’s next to Green Pk station opposite side to Ritz. They have a good selection of beers on tap as well as a selection of wines and spirits. We had light bites with our drinks. Staff are nice and friendly.

Sadly, a lot of dishes were not available and then found out bar closing down in a week's time.

Arrive for a drink at 11:15 a.m. Friendly staff, warm atmosphere. We decided to change tables and eat. Impeccable service, we don't speak English but we all made an effort. It was great. Very good aperitif, very good food, very fresh with vegetables which is rare around here. Nice and quality dessert, well presented. Very good value for money and quantity. I recommend. Aperitif, dessert course, wine and water, plus Service 40 pounds per person.

Waited a long time to be served at the bar, no one in sight, quite busy for lunch time and only 2 staff working, they couldn't do a cocktail my friend wanted. Customer service is getting poor and no value for money, you wonder why restaurants and cafes/ bars soon close.

Great location, and plenty of space. We were quite a large business party, all pre-booked, and our seating was all ready for us which was a good sign. Drinks were served quickly and food order taken, but the service then went downhill and main courses took ages to arrive. I sent mine back as it was cold, obviously it had been plated up and left for a good 15-20 minutes or more. No quibble from the serving staff who apologised and removed from the bill, but whilst I sent my food back others in the group did say that their food was also cold but they decided to plough on. If the food had been hot this would have merited 4 stars, but as we went to eat I couldn't justify that marking.

Having seen the rip off prices now being charged at many of our pre-Covid haunts, thought we would try here again. Not disappointed-made very welcome by Anna (good luck with the baby), good simple filling food at a good price while the bottle of wine was superb. Restored our faith that there are good places to eat at a good price in the centre of the city

The rudest staff ever AND charge service charge even thought you order your drinks at the bar! I asked for the bartenders name and he said no and then as he was messing around with the till I asked if he can bring my receipt over and he said no again and just ignored me - so so so rude! Never go here!

13th April 1200. Excellent as always, lovely young Australian girl served us, polite, big smile and attentive. Unfortunately just missed breakfast but lunch was excellent.

Popped in here, with my partner, to look at the menu, as we were walking by. We decided to eat here, and got a nice table by the window. We thought the prices were very reasonable, by London standards. We both had the slow cooked beef on the bone, with mash and veg. The portions weren't massive but it was enough to put us by until later. My partner had a pint of guiness and I had a large glass of white wine. The bill came to £54. Our meals were £17 each, the rest was for our 2 drinks and the service charge. We didn't have to, but we left £60 as we thought the service and staff were great, nice atmosphere too. We would definatley return.

Use to come to this pub nearly everyday before lockdown. First time back since first lockdown. Different staff but still the same friendly service but the bar is mot as busy. Food was always average but it seems to have down hill. A nice bar to have a drink and s bite to eat if you are nit fussy with food.

Come for the location and the decent prices. Do not come expecting good food. I eat here all the time because I work locally and it's one of the very few places which is reasonably priced and doesn't harass you out of the door as soon as you're done

Food was absolutely amazing and totally delicious, I'd highly recommend Henry's for a late afternoon lunch as it wasn't too busy and the service was excellent. I'd definitely go there again next time I'm in London.

The foods and drinks are delicious. We live in the USA but whenever we go to London we always go to Henry's.

Today we had a dinner and few drinks. We had amazing time and food was delicious. Special thanks to Jakub who made simple night out very enjoyable.

Genuinely a great place to go. I was in the area for a job interview and I arrived 2 hours early, so I came here for a coffee to pass the time, and the young lady that served me was great, really calming and sweet. She definitely is great at her job, its a shame I didn't get her name for this review. Her cappuccino was amazing.

Came to this restaurant with a few colleagues to celebrate a friend's birthday with breakfast. The lady at the reception mentioned he couldn't enter due to dirty trousers. Despite his regular visits over the past six months, especially on Fridays during his work break, without issues, this time was different. We ordered English breakfast, coffees, and tea. Unfortunately, we waited nearly 45 minutes for our order. The coffee and tea were satisfactory, but the English breakfast disappointed. Sausages and bacon were overcooked, and each plate had minimal baked beans—roughly a tablespoon. The only item cooked properly was the toast, perhaps because it came from a well-set toaster.

Very cozy, super friendly staff, great atmosphere, and amazing pies. 10/10 would recommend for a great lunch

Came in for Sunday lunch, was well and truly looked after by Rowland. He was so pleasant and very friendly, nothing was too much trouble.

An amazing experience, I had at Henry's Cafe Bar Piccadilly. Warm and Great welcoming, staff super friendly and polite with a pretty smile. Location it's amazing 1 mins walk from Green Park Station, their food it's so taste and delicious. Nice selection of wine and beers. Lots choices, cask ales, lagers . And good cocktail too. I highly recommend to try Mojito. Magdalena says. Good shout out for Heather, well acknowledge on the floor. Keeps the floor wonderful by maintaining a good atmosphere. If you stop by Green Park, please do not missing the opportunity to stop by.

I just wanna say how happy I was to spend a time with my friends at the Henry’s .Magdalena and her team are so amazing I love them with all my heart. They are such a professional people .Make me happy and my family, my friends in every minute we’ve been there, the food was so amazing and the cocktails are very nice and good selection. I’m really really happy to recommend that place and the people, especially very friendly Magdalena I’m always coming back there.

For a place that isn’t too busy given the location, service is really slow and staff don’t seem to have any awareness of how long you’ve been waiting.

Came in for lunch on saturday which was really tasty, service was great even though they were extremely busy, Heather and Roland were fantastic. Our only complaint was we overheard what seemed to be the GM (blonde hair and glasses). Shouting at the staff, we felt extremely sorry for them as you could tell they were trying there best and it was really busy. My friends have said they will not return, which is a shame because we always come to Henry's when in london.

Was in London for the day, came across this very cosy cafe. Food was absolutely amazing best hunters chicken I’ve ever had, fantastic female waitress with curly hair who went above and beyond. Will definitely recommend and visit again if in the area!

Staff were so friendly and helpful, especially Heather. She recommended I try one of the new pies. Best one I’ve had in a very long time. Definitely be coming back

We went here for dinner and my husband is gluten free, we placed our order and dinner came out with a few things not gluten free, Becky went above and beyond to make sure everything was fine and we thank you for the great service we received amazing service.

2* just because they are no prices on the menu for their drinks. How is this even legal? The place itself is nice but it’s not ok to not show what you want to charge !

Great food that's reasonably priced for its location, good choice, attentive service and lovely choice of cocktails. I would have loved some non alcoholic cocktails on the drinks menu too.

Great place for a work do. Brilliant Christmas work meal. Second time we have been. Very generous helpings and lashings of potatoes on the side!! Very busy place, very popular in the area so you need to book meals. Great hard working staff too.

We requested chicken schnitzel despite it not being on the menu and the chef (Anna) made it from scratch. It was delicious. The waiting staff were great and created a nice, relaxing atmosphere.

I stop in here with my brothers a few times a year for brunch. Staff are always very attentive and great us with a smile. Good quality meals and presented beautifully, anything from a full English breakfast to a light salad and even fish finger sandwiches (my particular favorite). I will be looking forward to visiting again in a couple of weeks.

Heather, our server, was simply wonderful! Knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, respectful, grateful, and speedy are just a few of the adjectives my wife and I used to describe her work as we walked back to our hotel. Thank you, Heather!

A nice location that seems to be let down by staff really not caring. Takes ages to get service. Food was dull. Example, I got a side order of what was described as 'roasted glazed seasonal vegetables'. What appeared at the table was a small dish of over-steamed squishy (and freezer burnt) mini carrots, peas and green beans. Not nice at all. I feel like at some point, someone would think 'is there something we can do to make this a bit nicer?'. As of my visit, no one working there has taken action on that thought.

Stopped for lunch on Saturday. Plenty of room. Good selection of beer l had a hamburger, wife Caesar salad with grilled chicken. Reasonablely priced. Recomended.

Was a bit nervous due to the location but it was a very nice place. The food was really good an so were the cocktails. Service was very attentive. Two cocktails, a wine and a beer, two entrees and one appetizer came to just over 70 pounds.

Service was incredibly slow and you have to leave your payment card (debit or credit card) behind the bar like you are running a tab! So wrong in this day and age.

Lovely clean, bright & fairly lively venue ideal for families with young ones as well as adults. Situated next to Green Park & between the "Bomber Command Memorial" & "The Ritz Hotel. A nice variety of starters, mains & desserts to get any pallet salivating & that's before you have looked at the drinks menu. Very reasonably priced for a tasty meal in the centre of London, food was well presented & hot when served by extremely polite & curtious staff. Toilets were immaculately clean, as was the venue throughout. Would highly recommend this venue for a well earned food/refreshments stop if you are in London on business or pleasure👍......Its a 10/10 from me!!

🇨🇦 reviewer here. I had what was the BEST gnocchi dish I have ever had in my life💥 not to mention one of the most pleasing meals while visiting London. Cudos to the chef. I popped in with 45 min to spare before catching my tourist night bus ride at 915pm across the street and the chef accommodated me. I am going to *try* recreate it at home. ❤️ Thank you.

Lovely bar/restaurant. We booked for 15 people after a walk around London. It ended up with 27 of us. Heather was our server. She gave us 1st class service. She advised us as she took all our orders that it would be a bit longer then usual as there were so many of us. It didn’t take that long and all orders were correct. The food, a variety of sandwiches and hot food was truly delicious. Nothing was too much trouble for her and service was made with a smile. It was great value for money. A lovely place to relax and eat amazing food. I’m looking forward to going back soon. Keep up the good work.

Unfortunately did not live up to reviews . Despite booking had no record of it . Slow poor service . Waiter had no idea about English beers or lagers and didn't bother to find out . We had to ask twice again before drinks brought to us . Toasted sandwiches warm but not seen the grill. Don't visit here if you are vegan , not a single milk substitute or vegan option .

If you want a cosier feel than the local coffee shops, then I would recommend Henry's. It can seem a little chaotic at times but once you've got your table, drink and snacks it's a great place to have meetings.

Best coctel's bar in the area. Good for a pint too. Legendary place with the London's essence.

Chilled place for a coffee, beer, food etc. Quietly well known by those in the know.

It was a lovely place to stop right out of the tube. It's a nice bar but only limited to the cocktails on the menu. Still the bellini and bloody marys were spot on!

Went for lunch today- have used before but due to COVID it’s been a long time since we visited. The empty bar should have been a warning as this bar used to be much busier. However decided to try the Sunday roast sirloin of beef. As we booked a table. This was one of the worst Sunday lunches we’ve ever experienced! The beef was so tough you could barely cut it and then so chewy it was virtually inedible - when asked for Horseradish sauce this was unavailable? (Only the obligatory ketchup- brown sauce or mustard in a sachet was offered! ) Very disappointing and won’t be going back - best thing on the plate was a Yorkshire pudding that suspect was a pre- frozen one so clearly not made by whoever was in the kitchen but can’t see this place continuing with such poor food on offer. Avoid frankly

Despite Covid Henry's manages to generate its usual convivial atmosphere. It is always pleasant to meet here for a glass of pre prandial lunch. Excellent all round.

Nada se destaca, pero el servicio es bueno, los precios se comparan bien con otros lugares y una excelente ubicación después de un día fuera. Las disposiciones de Covid para áreas estrechas están casi bien; no me gustaría verlas probadas con más personas allí. Pero lo suficientemente limpio y sin duda volvería.

I am Ernesto Sigal's colleague and I agree with his review. Worth mentioning the place is always very clean. Perfect place for leaving drinks if your office is nearby.
